Rate this book
Play with fire and you get burned… Something unexplainable happened to Tamson Grant when she hit puberty; the slightest touch from another person triggered searing heat that ravaged her body and bombarded her with violent visions. For years, she has lived in isolation, unable to bear the physical and mental pain caused by her psychic empath abilities. She limits her contact with people, working remotely as a dark web researcher for the U.S. military. The tactic works to preserve her health and sanity, but the loneliness is almost as painful as being touched. Where there is smoke, there is fire… When Tamson accidentally stumbles onto a terrorist plot involving a high-ranking military officer, she no longer knows who to trust. Desperate to identify the traitor before the deadly attack plays out, she risks everything by reaching out to a secretive group called the Phoenix Agency. When a tall, dark, and handsome operative shows up just in time to thwart an attempt on her life, Tamson discovers his touch burns like no other. Can Tamson find passion in the arms of this stranger or will revealing a dangerous secret turn her dreams to ash?

Tamson doesn't get close to people because when she hit puberty something triggered in her body. She can't touch another person or she gets a searing heat that bombards her body and she ends up getting violent visions. She works remotely and discovers a plot where there are people going to assassinate the top cabinet of the government. She reaches out to the only person who might be able to help her, which is a secretive group called the Phoenix Agency. Joe, new with the Phoenix group gets sent to find out what's going on. He ends up saving her life and finding out why she won't let her touch him. Such a great story, drama, adventure, action, and finding out Joe's touch doesn't burn like other people's touch. His touch burn for different reasons and they find a love that will only burn brighter. Read the story not only can Joe touch her but she get other important news that makes her super happy. Enjoyed this story and highly recommend. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Tamson works remotely as a dark web researcher for the US military. This is the perfect job because she is an empath and can’t bear for people to touch her as she gets violent visions. One day she stumbles upon a secret plot within the government. Now her life is in danger until an operative from the Phoenix Agency arrives just in time to save her. Funny, his touch doesn’t set off any painful visions only passion. I enjoyed this quick entertaining romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Flash Point is Book 18 in the multi-author Phoenix Agency Universe and is a short but enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed this short novella that brings psychic empath Tamson Grant together with a new Phoenix operative as they search for a traitor in the midst of the government. The characters are well depicted and there is a surprising amount of drama, action, and romance for such a quick read.
