Jason Richards is the author of the Drew Patrick hard-boiled detective crime thriller series. He has enjoyed reading detective and thriller stories since he was a child. His biggest inspirations are the tough and witty hard-boiled Boston P.I. Spenser, by Robert B. Parker, and Elvis Cole by Robert Crais.

Jason loves writing the Drew Patrick novels and hopes his readers enjoy being part of the adventures. Like his main character, Jason is a lifelong fan of Boston sports -- particularly his beloved Red Sox. He lives in Massachusetts with his wife, teenage son, and a Beagle-mix dog (the inspiration for Dash).

The body of a prominent political consultant is found in a railroad yard. The style and location of the murder makes no sense. A criminal is picked up who says he didn't do it. If not, who set him up and why? The chief of police calls Drew Patrick to investigate because his small town outside of Boston has never experienced a murder.

What will he find? The more he digs the more complicated it gets. The corruption goes to unexpected places. Now, they're after Drew.

This is an excellent mystery without excessive gore, cursing or sexual situations. Refreshing! I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary review.

Drew is great. He takes on such difficult cases and doesn't back down. Drew puts himself in danger and doesn't think twice about doing it. He is so confident. When a friend comes to him for help on a case, Drew immediately says yes. He is able to find the truth fast, but there is more to the whole story that he needs to dig out. His life is in danger when he finds out that there is a powerful politician and judge involved. Will he live to see that justice is done?
