Do bad girls have all the fun? Guess I'm about to find out...
At Nobledark Academy, where light magic is used to keep dark magic contained, it’s good versus evil, right versus wrong. There is no in-between. Recent revelations, however, have shown me that not everything is so simple. Turns out, I’m not the daughter of the two witches who raised me. My real mother was a siren who gave her heart to a demon.
Newsflash: There’s no place for Underworlders at Nobledark. Demons and sirens use some of the darkest magic there is.
As demon spawn and the daughter of a siren, I can’t let anyone know who I really am. Is there anyone I can trust? I can’t trust the school’s biggest bully, one of the most dangerous bad boys, nor the two hottest brothers at Nobledark – even though I’m attracted to all of them. If I get too close, any one of them could find out I’m the heir to one of the siren queens. And that puts my life at risk.
The safest place for me to hide from those who want to kill the heir is under the protection of Nobledark Academy. Where I am the enemy.
I’m caught between two worlds. One who wants me dead because of who I am. And the other who will kill me if they find out the truth.
Secret Magic is the first book in the Nobledark Academy series, a steamy reverse harem story of a witch who is more than she seems, and the four hunky men who come to love her.
Olivia is still be tortured by Marybs. She is visited in dreamscape by Raven and another. She doesn't want to be there. Raven forces her to go to the door that leads to the demon. Marybs gets the stones, she didn't even realize she had hers on her. The three woman show up again, one of them claims to be her mother. Olivia is half siren and half demon, she doesn't believe it. She is has been battling with this information, even her friends notice. She finally tells them, but they don't care. She is also seems to be attracted to more than one guy. She finally confronts her parents with what she has learned. They tell her the truth, that the woman is her mother. Olivia will not get any further infomation from them. Olivia is given a box that is for her, Olivia takes it. She has a lot to go over. Olivia is forced to meet with her biological mother and she learns a lot about what happened. She is still being stubborn over it. To make matters worse is Madame also knows who she is. Olivia has no choice but to tell her. There is also the matter of the school attacks, other people at the school seem to be very interested in her.
There is a lot that goes in in this story, you will have to read it for all the good parts. Olivia is a little unlikeable with her attitude in the beginning. I recommend reading this. Has a little bit for everyone to enjoy.

This is the sequel series to the Academy of the Underworld series, featuring Raven. You need to have read that one first because it sets up so much for this book. Olivia only features in the last part of the third book in that series, but it’s significant and pertinent to this one.
Olivia always thought she was a witch, but recent revelations show that she half siren, half demon- while attending a school that looks down on “underworlders” (like sirens and demons). Her siren half is suddenly becoming active too, and not only is her magic changing, but she is noticing several of the male students attending with her! Fearing her secrets being exposed, Olivia struggles to keep them from getting out, while dealing with all the new issues in her life (and the demon is *still* annoying her!)
This is an enjoyable continuation of the siren story, only this time we’re learning about the second of the siren families. The romances are a little slower to burn than Raven’s were, (which is a good thing), and only three of the harem are introduced in any depth. There are some mysterious happenings, a moderate level of danger, a couple of sexy scenes and some intriguing revelations. A couple of cameo appearances by Raven round out the storyline.
An enjoyable tale for RH and academy romance fans.
Nobledark Academy is the sister spin-off series to Academy of the Underworld. Olivia is a witch now newly minted siren royalty with her awakened powers. With that she is haunted by her demon father in her dreams and has contact with her half-sister Raven and Madame in the dreamscape. After the stones Olivia and Raven found were joined she now is in contact with her birth mother Iliana. Olivia is coming to terms with her supernatural parentage, getting a feel for her siren powers, as well as gaining a few admirers in the new term at school. This book is told in first person P.O.V. of Olivia as she deals with all of the drama that comes with her new reality. As time goes by the school starts to take on demon attacks from hell. The book ends abruptly after Olivia tells the school chancellor of all her parentage and more about the hell portal when she is attacked by a member of the concilium. I feel this is all leading to a big reveal in beginnings of the second installment. Will her fourth decide to join Team Olivia? I can't wait!

As with Ravens' story, Olivia found out about herself when she found the Persephones Blood stone. She is still having nightmares of Marbys, and like Raven, she asks the head mistress for help. She is also drawn to more than one guy. Thankfully, she is able to talk to Raven about how she handled the situation so she would know how to proceed. The head mistress is helping her with spells to keep herself safe, and the other teachers are still helping her with the rest of her studies. Unknowingly, she makes enemies with a girl with a powerful family. Now, she not only has her demon daddy messing with her dreams, but she has to watch her back while walking around school, too. Making enemies and lovers and friends while trying to get all her homework done, too, may just get to be too much for her. You'll just have to read and find out. I'm on to the next because I can't stop reading this series!
Our heroine is hiding from practically everyone, but for different reasons. Of course, the reasons don't really matter when they all want to kill you.
This is book one of this reverse harem paranormal romance series.
The story is well written and easy to read, set in an academy with something of a prison/reform school attitude to it. When you start to blend tropes together, you can sometimes get weird results, but this one does a nice job of it. It also helps that we have a cast of well developed and quite intriguing characters to support our story. I particularly like our heroine who is caught in a bad situation not of her own making, but is determined to see it through. Overall, an excellent start to the series and I look forward to the next book.
Highly recommended

We finally get Olivia's story! I have been waiting for this book and I can honestly say it was worth the way! This book is only in Olivia's POV. I loved Olivia; she is a spitfire for sure but is also insecure with how her life has been turned upside down. I love the scorching chemistry between Olivia and her 3 guys as well as the drama and the mystery this book has to offer. Olivia's friends are a a force to be reckoned with just as Olivia is. I can't wait to see what happens next! I highly recommend this book and this amazing author!

I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book via Booksprout and this is my honest review.
The book is definitely geared to young adults with cutesy interactions. No major action, just calm read. The RH guys weee just okay. Personally, only two guys were really featured with the other two just being add ons with no real meaningful interactions. The only thing I absolutely hated was the into. You are completely thrown into the book not knowing what in the world is going on or who any of the people are. I kept going back to book details to make sure I hadn’t gotten the 2nd or 3rd book in the series, because that’s how disjointed it was. An author shouldn’t do that, I almost stopped reading just for how irritating it was in the beginning.
If you read the series "Academy of the Underworld" then when you first start reading this book you might start thinking you already read it. This is Olivia's story of her life after finding the stone and what happen in hell. You will meet new characters and see how she revolves around each one. She will learn new things about herself. But what she really has to figure out is how she is really going to live her life. You will hope for the best, but remember not everything is black and white.

The world previously created for a different series continues to delight and amaze in this new series with the lead being a character from the previous series. It was great to be able to understand what happened to her after everything in the previous series. This story is still intense with suspense, drama and intrigue. The characters are just as well defined and intriguing and the storyline is amazing. Great start to another great series.

I'm not sure how old the MFC is. She speaks and acts like she's 16 and then has dirtier thoughts than a recent 40yo divorcee hitting the scene for the 1st time in 2 decades. The dichotomy is weird and unnerving. The school doesn't make any sense. Is there another series that comes before this one? One that has world building? If so it would be nice to mention that in the blurb. The characters are very 2D. They are there, they do things, things happen around them, but they're not very emotive. They don't develop. They don't bond. There's no real story development, either.
I’ve been wanting Olivia’s story since her introduction in the previous series and it was so worth the wait. I enjoyed the well written storyline with all the mystery and spice that makes for an entertaining read. Her chemistry with Silas and Matty is sweet and steamy as they discover each other, but their harem is not complete and I cant wait for more of this series that doesn’t disappoint.
Secret Magic is book one of the Nobledark Academy series and is a page turning story. This fast paced read is filled with danger, action, mystery, suspense, steam and twists that pulled me into the story. If you have read this author's previous series then you might remember we met Olivia in that series. I'm glad we finally get to read her story and find out more about her. I look forward to reading the rest of the series to see what happens next. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Secret Magic by Laney Powell is an awesome story that I have read. To start, the ending just felt so incomplete so I need the next book! It is also a slow burn wich usually isnt my style but this book is good enough to make me look past it! I can't wait to see how this series ends!

This story was an okay read. Didn’t hate it, but I probably won’t read the others. It really didn’t grab hold of my attention and keep me up trying to finish it.
This is my first time reading this author so I have no reference to go by of her other books.

A reverse harem story with magic and demons and secrets galore. I had a hard time connecting and liking Olivia at first but then realized she had valid feelings. The secrets that are revealed would cause anyone to behave erratically. The chemistry between her and the guys is explosive too and I was sucked into this whole new world.

Olivia finds that her origins are not what she thought. Daughter of two worlds, leaving in a place where being a daughter of a siren and a demon is more than frowned upon. She has to hide what she is and deal with her sudden attraction to some guys at school.
I really liked this book. Started a little confusing, but things get cleared fast. Olivia has a prejudice against her own kind, but that is worked in the book. In the end, I really enjoyed.
This is a fantastic book with great characters and an intriguing plot. I loved how the book played out and all the secrets that come to light. I could not put it down and am looking forward to more books in the series!

Great beginning of a brand new series. The characters are not just interesting but quirky and intriguing. The storyline keeps the reader wondering what is going to happen. The love interests are fleshed out and have their own back story. There is action and you're not sure what may or may not happen next.
Olivia worked her butt off to get into Nobledark, and works hard to stay. When she finds out she is adopted and who her birth parents are, she thinks she is going to lose her mind. Mom is a siren, fad is a demon. Since neither of those are supposed to attend this academy, Olivia is scared that someone will figure it out and send her away, and not to a good place!
This was a great continuation of this world and start to a new series. You need to read the first series to understand it though. Love the best friends and boyfriends but Olivia's character needs to grow up and be a little tougher.
Great book, great story. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I read the previous series as well, and loved it. Highly recommend both series to anyone interested in RH romance, paranormal romance, or any combination of paranormal stories or romance books.
This a great start to a new series. Olivia is a strong character and I like that she still has insecurities. Olivia and her men have hot chemistry. The dream and mystery in the storyline is entertaining.
Olivia is a witch and her powers are awakening. She is hiding who and what she is. This series started off with a bang! It is a series that is definitely going to be popular. It is action packed amd filled with drama and secrets. I really loved it.
The MC comes off as a spoiled brat and whines, like a lot. I don't know. The plot feels kinda thin. I will read book 2 and hope the author gained more experience.
Pretty good start. Doesn’t explain much though. Hopefully the next book will have more info. Why does her family get more then one mate and not other supes? Just weird things like that. I like where it’s going but need more backstory I think.
