Danica and Keaghan were both broken souls blindly navigating their way through life. Neither of them was looking for the other, but the sparks that fly when they reconnect refuse to die. **This is a standalone novella**

Ember was a really cute love story. Dani and Tucker are two lost souls trying to find their way back from grief and guilt. They initially meet when Dani is in a really bad car accident and Tucker, the sexy firefighter, saves her life. There's an instant attraction and connection between them but, alas, nothing happens. Fast forward two years later, Dani is grieving the sudden death of her boyfriend and Tucker is carrying around a ton of grief because, he couldn't save a little girl from a fire. When they finally meet back up, they are barely surviving life. Hurt people have a tendency to understand hurt people so, Dani and Tucker were able to help each other get past their issues and start living life again. Oh, but when they started living life, whew chile, did they start living life! Those sex scenes were beyond pearl clutchin'! I love the family dynamics between Dani and her siblings. I absolutely loved the way they loved each other. The way they were there for Dani when her boyfriend died tugged at my heartstrings. They continually roasted each other from the first page to the last. Her parents were just as equally hilarious too. I'm uber excited about the next book in this series because, it features Meisha. I'm dying to see how her love interest handles her because, she is a handful. I really enjoyed Ember. This was my first book by Skye Moon and it will not be the last. I will be adding her to my list of authors to read.
I was really excited since firemen are one of my favorite things thanks to the TV show Chicago Fire. When Danica is in a terrible car accident, handsome dark chocolate fireman Tucker is the one who comes to her rescue. They feel an instantaneous attraction and bond, but ultimately nothing comes of it. After two years of grieving alone, they found comfort and healing in one other's company thanks to a single invitation. and Danica meet when Danica is in a really bad car accident and Tucker, the handsome dark chocolate firefighter, saves her life. There's an instant attraction and connection between them but, alas, nothing happens. These two were broken by grief and through one invite they were able to bond and heal each other. The two then became inseparable, marking the start of their romance.
I loved Ember! For it to be a novella, I was amazed at all of the action and drama that was packed in this book. Danica and Keaghan's story was perfect. They really shined as a couple. I can't wait to dive into the rest of this series.
Danica and Tucker meet on a night of tragedy and have an instant connection, but it isn't acted upon. Two years later they are now both unattached and ready to move past their trauma. These two become friends and get to know each other and eventually become lovers. They helped each other move on and it was sweet. They were also spicy in the bedroom. Their chemistry was off the charts.
I loved the firefighter storyline, I haven't read many and this was covered well.
My first read by skye moon and I enjoyed this novella. I have a couple of her other books on my TBR and I look forward to reading them.I am an instant love type of reader so this novella fits my reading mood.
My heart ached for both Danica and Key. I loved how healing were in the hearts of each of them providing balm to the other. Great intro to a fiery series.
Danica was in a car accident when a firefighter saved her life. Two years after her accident Danica experienced a loss that caused her to move back home where she runs into the man that saved her life and who she has been crushing on every since the accident. Keagan has been lost and distant since he experienced a loss on the job that he can’t get over, but when he sees Danica again something in him comes back to life.
I was pulled into this novella from the first chapter and couldn't put it down, I felt like I was watching an episode of my favorite show Chicago Fire. Tucker and Danica were two people hurting from dealing with a loss and were able to use that pain to help each other heal. I liked the development of their friendship and thought they were cute. Tucker was such a gentleman. I also enjoyed Danica and her siblings they had me laughing with their antics.
This was a cute story and I am looking forward to the other stories in this series. This is also a super quick read and while I would have enjoyed a little more from this couple I don't think the story was incomplete plus this couple may make an appearance throughout this series so Im sure we will get a little more of them.
This was my first read from Author Skye Moon. I liked this story because it was about first responder. I must say this book was a good read. The author did a phenomenal job of painting a picture for the reader. I mean even when it came to the "hunching", I was thinking okay Skye I got every vivid detail fo sho LOL. I am intrigued to read the next book to see how it builds.
I can say Tucker and "Dani Bae" (I love when guys give nicknames. Just so darn cute). They both went through a lot of trauma. It never dawned on me until now how much trauma one goes through being a first responder. It gave me a different perspective and also made me appreciate those who are on the front line.
One thing that this book reiterated for me is, when a man says HE DON'T WANT YOU...BABY YOU BETTER LISTEN TO THAT MAN AND DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. If that man moves on, but it was not you, get out your feelings and MOVE ON TOO. He was not meant to be with you! He was not going to love you the way that you needed. PEERRRIIOOODDDTTT!!!!
Great job Skye! I will be reading more from you!

“And what is it that you think you see?” “Right now, a man that needs somebody to be there for him the way he’s there for everybody else.”
I love all things firefighting and firefighters so when I stumbled upon a series that highlighted both, I jumped on it and quick!
Keaghan and Danica first crossed paths after he was called to the scene of her accident and saved her life. The moment was fleeting however the connection was strong. Years have passed and life has been lifing for them both. So much so that these two are battling grief, loss and regret when they meet again. Bonded by shared grief, Dani and Keaghan share moments that ultimately lead to something deeper than they could have ever imagined. Sometimes all it takes is the right person to pull out of the dark hole you’ve resided in and these two were that for each other.
I absolutely adored this story! The pace and plot were perfection and it was such a well written story that really pulled me in from page one. If this is how the series is starting out, then I know I’m in for a treat!
What do you do when trauma rules your life? You’re stuck with feelings of guilt, unworthiness, questioning everything and everyone, untrusting, you hide, lock the emotions inside and you just don’t want to deal or feel. That’s where Dani and Kee are. They’ve been through things separately and need each other to get through it. While Dani is already making steps in her recovery she still feels this emptiness and questions if she is ready to move on. Kee is spiraling and it is affecting his life and job. He can’t keep a handle on his anger and frustration and it’s bleeding into work. These two become each other’s coping mechanism, support system and accountability partner. They understand each other on a level that no one else does. What was a life saving first meeting turns into a life changing relationship. I’m here for it!
So heartfelt! Tucker and Danica both were dealing with traumatic events in their lives. When you go through something like that, you feel more empathy for others going through something similar. Dani felt like she was drowning in her sorrow, and the only time she felt "right" and above water, was when Tucker was around. Tucker, was hiding in the darkness, filled with guilt, but Dani's presence slowing pulled him into the light. They were good for each other. They had a genuine friendship, that allowed the other to vent and heal in their own time. Dani's family was a mess! 😃 But, loved how they all rallied around her, during her time of need. Good read! 👍👍👍
My intro into Brighton Heights did not disappoint. Danica and Keegan were literally two halves that came together in the midst of a tragedy that found their path to becoming whole within each other. There is most definitely something about a man in a uniform, in this case a fireman who comes to the rescue and ends up finding a way to rise from the ashes and get back to the man he was. Danica also discovers her inner strength and resilence after tragedy and trauma hits close to home forcing her to dig deep and find her internal healing. Their love story is swoon worthy and brings all the warm fuzzies as they journey to their happily ever after.
This was my first book from Sky Moon, and I was amazed when I finished reading this. The chemistry between Dani and Tucker,,, oooofff!!! Dani and Tucker are both fighting their demons when they meet each other that is when Dani is met with an accident and Tucker ( the sext firefighter ) comes to her rescue. Two years, later fate bought them to together and from then on they were healing each other's wounds. They were the healing balm for each other. I loved Dani'ss relationship with her siblings, they were supportive, understanding and they had so much banter between them. Even though this is a novella, its fully packed with emotion, chemistry ect.
This book was serenity filled. I loved Danica and Tucker’s organic connection. I enjoyed her relationship with her family, especially her siblings. I liked how “Grown” they each were in regards to communication. It was refreshing! That’s why I was so unpleasantly surprised with Danica seeing something she didn’t like and shutting down and hiding out without communicating. I loved how secure she was as a woman until that act. It made her seem immature and insecure, otherwise 5 stars. I would still recommend it though.
A shortie but goodie.. is that a thing 🤔 lol I’m obsessed with the One Chicago series so when I saw fire department and police department it was an automatic yes for me.
This was a cute concept he saves her now so she can save him later sort of deal. Both Tuck and Danica experienced loss in very different ways and they comfort each other through it. They have a cute dynamic. I absolutely love the sibling relationships with Danica, Miesha, and Casimir. Love the nod to Ganton Hills.. we have dual residency in the hills and the heights! Short and sweet, it did what needed to be done!
I’m a sucker for easy love stories. It could all be so simple in my Lauryn Hill voice. LOVE is a healer and doesn’t require anything but acceptance! Danica and Keagan where two ships passing in the night that happened to meet up in the same port. I appreciated the transition of their friendship to passion while encouraging and supporting each other to heal. Is Casimir gonna have a story? He was a great supporting actor 😂.
Short and sweet. Danica and Tucker were both dealing with a great amount of grief, they needed each other so much. Danica’s first encounter with Tucker was when he rescued her after a horrific car accident. Tucker was the firefighter that saved her. Years later the two reconnect.. and love was formed. I truly enjoyed this book. It was a quick read but packed a lot of power. I loved it. ❤️
Tucker and Dani Bae both were broken individuals but who would’ve thought their trauma would bring them together. They both were each other saving grace and came at the right time. Tucker was definitely BDE and he was all man. This book was in third person but some parts the author was saying “my” and “I” and skipping to third person but it didn’t take away from the story. I definitely recommend
Danica and Tucker definitely shared a kindred spirit. They rescued each other in more ways than one and I was appreciative of their budding romance. It was slow and sweet as they genuinely enjoyed each other while solidifying their foundation in friendship... I loved Danica siblings they definitely was ride or die for family and I love to see it... Can’t wait to dive more into this series
Danica met Keaghan Tucker thinking their paths would never cross paths again after that night. After they each find themselves in a weird place they both have to find out whether they can help each other see the brightness in their dark times. For being a novella their chemistry was written so well. I enjoyed this so much.
If you need a novella/ short book to meet a reading goal this is perfect to do that
Tucker and Danica first crossed paths after he was called to the scene of her accident and saved her life. After that brief moment they never forgot each other. Years later they meet again. Both grieving in different ways but also becoming the peace that each other needed. During grief you need someone who is able to pull you out of the black hole, and they were that for each other. This story was well written.
I am new to this author but I am definitely on the hunt for her works now. This book was phenomenal. I loved how Tuck & Dani were a able to heal each other's pain. The relationship she had with her siblings/family had me crying. Few errors but not enough to take away from the story. Definitely 5 🌟 worthy.
I love a happy ending. When 2 become 1 it's amazing. Being able to come into a person life and then leave to live a little, only to come back and make your presence know. Tucker did that, him and Danny are just a beautiful couple. Being broken and able to heal one another. This is my first read by this author and I love it.
Tucker and Dani had an interesting first meeting. Life happens for them both, good and not so good, and they are forever changed. Their chemistry, the friendship they developed and the interactions they had were organic. There was no forced emotions with them. The close relationship Dani had with her siblings and parents was great. Really good story
Ember is a short and cute love story. Danica has a car accident that forever changes her life. Tucker is one of the first responders on the scene. After time passes, neither can deny their undeniable connection.
I wasn't expecting this story-line based off of the cover. This book is all romance with a tiny splash of drama. The author did a great job at keeping my attention.
Really liked this story and how Dani and Tuck had both their initial dramatic meeting and then met up again each carrying baggage that drew them to one another in a different way. It was more than the like/love at first site in a crisis but that kindred spirit bond born out of tragedy. Absolutely loved the siblings dynamic! Really well done!
This one of those feel good lovey dovey books. Danica and Tucker was definitely meant to be. Two broken souls that healed each other. I could feel the passion. Those sex scenes baby was litt. On to book two. Great job
Whew...🤤.. I’m speechless and wanting more of this couple! When pain can bring two together to find relief in one another it’s beautiful. I loved this story and can wait to read book 2.
