I have always been interested n British History and Churchill. This was a very interesting book that detailed his first year as Prime Minister, and beyond...but mostly that first year. There is the thread about US entry into the war. The part of the story that I found fascinating was the personal... not only the robust characters that he surrounded himself with and his family. I especially appreciated the summation at the end of the book, which let the reader know what happened to those folks after the book finished. Well written, easy to follow. Loved the short chapters, which meant it was easy to pick up and put down as needed.

Cartea în sine este extraordinară însă este plină de “detalii amoroase” personale ale persoanelor din apropierea lui Churchill de care nu sunt absolut deloc interesată; s-ar fi putut astfel scurta cu cel puțin 200 de pagini.
Însă, cartea este foarte bine scrisă și documentată.
