Great Introduction to the Series

Valorie Dawes is a complex character, with ghosts of her own, who gets drawn into the kidnapping of a young child. The child’s mother is Val’s friend and classmate. Val’s empathy drives her to find the perpetrator of the crime and help return the child to its mother, but it’s her tenacity and grit that keep you reading. The nonstop action leads to a satisfying ending.
