Ever since he left the forest, a boy from another world named Ryoma had been cared for by the duke's family. Rather than take advantage of their generosity, however, he's determined to live independently. Seeking to earn a stable income, he decides that alongside his adventuring job, he'll use his cleaner slimes to open a brand new laundromat! After he sets up his store by himself and hires some excellent employees, the laundromat opens to praise that far surpasses Ryoma's expectations. As business gets busier and more exciting, he also gets ahold of some new familiars in the third installment of this daily life fantasy!
As I've said before, this is the kind of peaceful book I was looking towards. I greatly enjoyed the third volume and found it interesting to read about Ryoma's old co-workers dealing with his death. I have lost a friend a while ago and I feel like I can kind of connect to some of the characters. There's also a certain serenity that Ryoma as a character and a person brings to me. A wonderful tranquillity that I am rare to enjoy.
Book 3 here just about covers the end of season 1 of the anime, so much has been omitted from the anime itself. Anyway I'm still enjoying this simple slice-of-life fantasy and am looking forward to the next book.
I hope this is far enough down. I find it interesting that now he is starting to create slimes with war potential along with the story mentioning that other country at war. With the cannon dark slime and the fortress building earth slime it will be interesting to see if he ever uses them in that way.
This book in the series focused on self-improvement. Ryoma improved not only business-wise but also in his skills and relations with others. The sudden increase of the new characters can present a bit of a struggle to remember everyone but nonetheless, it was really nice to be introduced to them all the same.
It may be just me but i absolutely enjoyed reading each growth of the laundromat! It was fascinating to read. And the new slimes were exciting to read too. but there's nothing more we can do about that. At this point, I am just happy Ryoma is happier now. He deserves that much. I am just sad for Tabuchi. He was the closest to him. And I'm happy that, at least, from here on out, things will look brighter for him. Nowhere to go but up, really.
I enjoyed this book. It was fun to read and the plot is still the same laid-back plot. The atmosphere is peaceful all the same. Albeit there being parts hinting more of the story like the other kingdom where Fay and Lilyn was from and the bunch of hoodlums and their employer/s, there is still a sense of calm in the story. It was nice. It'll definitely be interesting to read more of the story. I can't wait for the rest!
Getting a new business up and running comes with more issues than Ryoma expected. Employees, for one. His business plan was always to provide cheap, good laundry service, but he vastly underestimated how many people would take him up on that. With new slimes, new friends, and a full life ahead, Ryoma is busier than ever.
This continues onward pretty naturally from the previous book. Once again there's much less focus on any monster-hunting (or taming) and much more on the daily life side of things.
That said, I do like the new tamable bird that gets introduced. Ryoma finally has something other than a slime to act as a familiar---even though he mostly wants them to serve as a postal service.
It was also nice to get more of a continuing story for what happened to the people Ryoma left behind, as a bunch of his former coworkers get a chance to reminisce about him over drinks. It's nice to see some of them recognizing that they were abusive in their own behaviors, and finally saying some of the things to each other they should have told him.
I don't care as much for how Elia seems to be positioning herself as a girlfriend rather than a friend. I suppose it was inevitable but it's still unfortunate, as for one, they're both still very young.
Overall if you liked the previous books this one is more of the same. I rate this book Recommended.
This has been my favorite installment thus far along Ryoma Takebayashi's journey through this new world,, with his many adventures and eccentric behavior. Mostly for the many new additions added to his shop, along with truly seeing it function. As well, experiencing his grasp of the future in a more defined manner.
The Limur birds were such a treat. I hope there are more intriguing and creative beasts such as these. Perhaps we will eventually meet Reinhart's contracted dragons. That alone adds much enthusiasm to my desire for reaching the conclusion of this world through Roy's writing.
I'm excited to see how Ryoma will change outside of the influence of the Jamil family. Wondering whether we will experience some of Elia's school life through their time apart. Finally, I'm most concerned with the mysterious employer who targeted his store and if we will discover their source and reasoning within a short span of time or not.
The book is reminding me of Death March, without the gaggle of girls. The hero is rather overpowered but still a really nice guy, and the storyline is slow-life/low-conflict but somehow still interesting. I like the new slimes he acquires and also new information about slimes that he discovers.
I also like how the ending short stories are all interesting so far rather than being boring rehashes of what’s already happened, which is what a lot of the “bonus short stories” at the end of light novels tend to be. These stories actually reveal things that pertain to the main story and reveal information about what happens outside of Ryoma’s point of view.
It's the pure escapism of having your own little business, building the actual building from scratch with magic in just 10 days, and being financially successful enough to hire friendly employees who do everything for you. Wish fulfillment!
BUT it's also the slow character development of a character who actually has free time for the first time, having the freedom to develop genuine interests and ideals
I truely enjoyed your books and plain to continue buying them. I came across this series in manga format and couldn't get enough of this story So very glade i found it in novel format it has way more info and is easier to read then both manga and animated format.
Ryoma who is favored by the Gods, decides to use his slimes and open a Laudromat. The detail of how he finds his employees , trains his slimes and intereacts with customers and friends are really interesting. There is some setting up for something down a road with hints of trouble ahead. But so far it's just a nice slice of life novel about a boy a magical ability in a fantasty realm.
The peaceful is life continues, including a bit more on what happened at Earth after the MCs death. Like the previous parts, the story isn't unique and contains little action or threat to the MC. Still, a nice time filler for me.
The third installment of the series. A short and easy read. The characters are very likable and while the main character may overthinker and overcomplicate many things, I absolutely adore him. The perfect book to read when ypu just want to not think about reality.
Fantastic read! I absolutely love the development of the main character, and the humor the main character projected! I cant wait for the next book to come out!!
Definitely a good read! I recommend this series to anyone who likes isekai books and wants something different than the “summon a hero from another world” trope.
The side stories made me cry like a little baby, dealing with sudden grief is so hard. The way Tabuchi’s grief was portrayed was incredible relatable and just honestly such good writing
A 6hr audio book. This book follows the main character as he develops his laundry business. As a light read from an anime, I am still enjoying this series.
I enjoy the series. It is a mostly calm slice of life story. An enjoyable read as we see Ryoma build on his character, slimes, and business. Great writing, amazing plot lines.
By The Grace of the Gods, Volume 3 opens with Ryoma Takebayashi finishing his laundromat and the welcoming party. The laundromat is a massive success due to the speed of their labor and the price. Ryoma hires more people to help and institutes employee benefits to further aid its employees.
The ugly facade of jealousy raises its head, but we don't know who is sending people to interfere with Ryoma's business. Finally, Ryoma observes his slime's evolution. He discovers a way to release magic energy without transforming it into a spell and uses that as slime food.
I enjoyed the book. Thanks for reading my review, and see you next time.
