the story is interesting, the art is pretty, would be really good if it wasn't for the sexualization of a character with the body of a child (i don't care that she's actually 200 years old, that shit is gross)

Come for the vampire murder investigation, leave immediately and never return for the sexualization of a minor who comes on to a middle-aged guy in lingerie and the story is desperate to justify by saying she’s 200 years old.

i'm so mad because the story is so good so far but why does Momo have to have the body of a child?
the sexualisation of minors - even if it's "just" the body - is horrendous and I sadly have to drop this even though everything else is completely up my alley. I would've gladly given this manga a five star rating if the first colored page didn't gross me out already.

Das könnte sicher eine spannende Geschichte werden, würde die 200jährige Vampirin nicht aussehen wie 12 und komplett sexualisiert in Dessous rumlaufen und ständig versuchen den 38jährigen Prota zu verführen 🥲

I would have loved this manga - LOVED - but there's a 200 year-old vampire who looks like a six year old girl, dresses in provocative lingerie, and kisses the main character (an almost 40 year old man) on the mouth and crawls all over him. Just...ew. It's too bad the author went in THAT direction when he had a unique take on vampires, great art, and a fun storyline apart from it. I loved the idea of a cop-slash-vampire hunter with a vendetta against the master vampire who killed his wife, but I just don't want to continue the story if it continues sexualizing an underage-looking girl like this.

Nach dem ich “Happiness” gelesen habe, hatte ich Angst nie wieder einen Manga zu finden, der so gut gezeichnet ist. “Noah of the blood sea” kam in einigen Szenen schon nah ran aber Momo hat mich überzeugt. Der erste Band ist ein solider Einstieg. Bin gespannt was noch kommt.

Als ich ‚Momo, the blood taker‘ begann, wusste ich - wie eigentlich immer - nicht worauf ich mich einlasse.
Als ich den Band aufschlug und die pikanten Farbseiten sah, war ich direkt unsicher, ob das das richtige für mich ist.
Danach werden Lesende direkt in den Handlung und an einen Tatort geworfen, der mir Dexter vibes gab. Diese und meine kleine Vorliebe für Krimis, haben mich den Schock der ersten Seiten schnell vergessen lassen.
Der erste Band nimmt sich Zeit Keigos Geschichte zu erzählen und sein Ermittler-Team kennenzulernen. Schnell fand ich den Protagonisten witzig und charmant. Liebs, wenn so Chaoten gleichzeitig auch kompetent sind.
Auch der Storyverlauf hat es geschafft, mich konstant zu schocken und meine Neugier ins unermessliche zu treiben. Zudem hatte ich auch das Gefühl, dass in diesem ersten Band viel passierte, da die Handlung dynamisch voranschritt.
Zudem ist der Zeichenstil genau meins. Klar und detailreich gezeichnet, sowie mit zahlreichen Hintergründen und Umgebungen ausgestattet. Auf Grund des Detailreichtums, rate ich jedoch allen, die ungern Tatorte, Blut, brutale Szenen oder gruselige Gestalten sehen eher davon ab, diese Reihe zu lesen.
Dieser Reihenauftakt hatte viele Aspekte, die ich sehr ansprechend fand. Dennoch glaube ich, ist sie nichts für mich. Denn a) grusle ich mich schnell und b) bin ich nicht so glücklich mit der Darstellung von Momo. Sie ist zwar schon über 200 Jahre alt, aber sieht - finde ich - aus wie 12. I feel really conflicted like the plot is very interesting and Keigo as the main character is simply the jackpot but I feel very uncomfortable with Momo herself and the relationship she will have with Keigo in the future

Da wärs definitiv besser gewesen zuerst die Reviews zu lesen. Die Protaginistin ist 200 Jahre alt, sieht aber aus wie 12 und wird komplett sexualisiert. Seh nicht ein wieso es das für die Story brauchte, deswegen werd ich die Reihe nicht weiterverfolgen.

Es ist mein erstes Manga und ich muss sagen es war…. Komisch. Was anderes fällt mir nicht ein, aber es war an sich interessante Erfahrung. Vielleicht muss ich mehr davon lesen um es überhaupt beurteilen zu können 😅

this was actually pretty good and started off strong but like most mangas they ruin things by making a 200+ year old character look like a child and make things so sexual…can we be normal for once.

I was gifted this after my coworker and I found it for our horror manga display at work. It is 100% not my usual manga but I am trying to branch out. I’m curious enough about where this story will go to continue. Just not a fan of the gore.

Mangas erwähne ich auf diesem Account einfach viel zu selten. Ich lese sie super gerne Zwischendurch, aber ich hatte bisher immer das Gefühl, dass es hier kaum jemanden interessiert...
Heute möchte ich euch nichtsdestotrotz "Momo" vorstellen. Einen wunderschön gezeichneten Manga, den ich fix in ein paar Stunden, als es letzte Woche so heiß gewesen ist in unserem kleinen Mini Pool, gelesen habe.
Hach und ich habe es sehr genossen. Es ist sehr düster, Morde, Vampire, ein Ermittler, der auf Rache aus ist und vor nichts zurückscheut und Momo, eine alte Vampirin, die sich seiner annimmt, dargestellt wird sie als kleines Mädchen (siehe Cover), aber sie wird zum Glück kaum von den Charakteren sexualisiert. Tatsächlich meine größte Angst. Ich kann es überhaupt nicht leiden und finde es ehrlich gesagt widerlich, wenn objektiv betrachtet Kinder fetischisiert werden 🤮
Hier gar nicht der Fall. Ihre Kleidung ist ein wenig...auffällig, aber ansonsten konzentriert sich die Handlung auf Keigos (der Ermittler) Charakter, seine Vorgeschichte und die Morde.

Good overall. Momo is a 200 year old vampire that saves a police detective involved in a murder case. Very dark and with graphic violence but very riveting. Definitely interested to see what more happens.

The story is pretty interesting, the drawings are detailed and the horror of the vampires is very cool BUT i don't understand why there is a borderline pedo relationship displayed. Maybe i am not the target group but i can't keep looking at a five year old looking "old enough" vampire girl in sexy dessous on a 30 year old man.

well. i bought this cause i loved the cover art and when skimming through some pages the art style really caught my eye and now that i finished the whole thing the art really didn’t disappoint. i love vampire stuff and in regards of that it was a nice read but momo looking like and even being called a little girl is just plain weird and kinda ruined it for me :/ since 2.5 isn’t an option imma give 3 stars cause the story isn’t bad and i like the art but momo's character design really isn’t it

momo being like 200 and looking 12 ruined this fucking book for me. they even reference her voice sounding like a little girl. but they wanted to suggest she’d slept with the main character. who’s 38. this whole story was ruined by this in my humble opinion… everything else was cool as hell too

Not a big fan of manga, can be a bit too silly and whimsical for my liking, but I genuinely enjoyed this read. Very mature and gritty, just what i like. Would happily pick up the second volume

4-stars for an intriguing story about a detective trying to find his wife's murderer - who is a Vampire. The artwork of this story is brilliant and takes you back to old-school horror, where vampires are feared (mostly).
The reason I deducted 1-star was for the sexualisation of a 200-year-old vampire in a child's body. (Fine, she is 200 years old) for me, it is still wrong, but the storyline was gripping, and Dantesan was funny.
I will give Vol 2 a trial and see if I will continue this series any further.
