A storm’s been awakened, and it won't be contained for long.
I've been pushed beyond my limits, my heart shattered into pieces, and a magic forced on me I know nothing about. With a darkness stirring inside me that I should be afraid of—but I’m not—it’s time to show Alaryk even though he won the last battle, he won’t get so lucky again.
My grieving period is over. I’ve moved onto rage, letting vengeance guide me. Everyone left that I care about wants me to let them in, but until Alaryk is no longer breathing, I won’t let them distract me from what needs to be done.
I’m destined for two paths. One that leads to light and love, the other, darkness and power. The time is up to decide who I will become, and ready or not, I’ll either save the worlds or destroy them.
This time, not even the Fates know how things will end.

Of Blood and Sacrifice is the final installment in author Heather Renee's Royal Fae Guardians series. This story picks up 5 days after the stunning ending to Of Blood and Sacrifice. Alaryk made his move and it has pushed Kali to the breaking point. With a prophecy that says that she will either save Alaryk or destroy it, it will take a few good friends and new allies to keep Kali on the straight and narrow.
Of Blood and Sacrifice is the second book in Heather Renee’s Royal Fae Guardians duology, and it was a fantastic second book and ending.
The world building and characters were captured perfectly, which allowed for that deeper emotional connection when reading Kali’s own continued journey with the battle against light and dark.
Great ending to Royal Fae Guardians. Picks up right after book 1 ends. Has a chapter from Ryland's view by Adam Gold. 😏 The main narrator Kasi Holloway did an amazing. There were some more emotional scenes that she really put her heart into. A final battle and a few new characters. And most importantly, a Happily Ever After that was so perfect! 🥰💙 There were so many good quotes I had a hard time choosing. Enjoy!
"Bigger is not always better. Control is the ultimate weapon."
"Alright, I'm going now. Just be prepared to miss me like crazy. He winked and disappeared."
"Cali we are forever. Don't you ever say otherwise."
"If you cause any trouble within my home I will bring havoc down on yours. We might be small people but we are mighty! Don't you forget that."
"If they thought for one second that made me a weak target they were going to be poorly mistaken should they try anything. I had a myraki* to save. And nothing was going to stop me."
"Sorry we're late Chuck. Let's finish this together!"
I love this beautifully written duology so much!! The world building has been utterly spectacular! Kali and Ryland and Stryx and Jordan have such a huge chunk of my heart! Watching the inner battle that Kali must fight pulled upon my heartstrings. I knew that she had all of these complicated feelings and thoughts and seeing her choose her path was just such a beautiful thing. Seeing her struggle was so sad! I just wanted to wrap her up in a big warm hug! I love Ryland so much because he's all in, no matter what, he has Kali's best interests in mind and his goal in every situation is to make sure that she is alright. #SwoonWorthy I love Arvayta and it's residents and hope that one day we go along with them on a new adventure! I could never get enough! Heather Renee is such a gifted author! I love losing myself in her worlds and words. She always pens such sassy ladies and the perfect guys to have their backs.
Don't judge me but this is going to sound nothing like my usual reviews. Meds are hitting hard and I really just wanted to share a review with you guys. :)
The finale to this series was absolutely perfect...the story was one of love, loyalty and growth and although Kali goes through an extremely rough time fighting the growing darkness inside her...it proves that light can conquer all, when you have the right people beside you. I really loved a lot about this book.
The characters were incredibly written and you can't help but love them all. They literally just come to life on the page and you can't escape them, nor do you want to... it honestly feels like you become friends with them yourself. I do have to say Jordan does remain a favourite character I just love her spunk and the bond Kali and her share. It's just so special and perfect. But a certain young man, Ryland, is definitely way up on the bar because I couldn't help but fall in love with him. He is just so adorable and perfect for Kali in everything...he's made for her. Although that doesn't mean all will be well and easy for them.
It's funny how you sometimes get that feeling of a lot happening but at the same time it all feeling too quick, it did feel a little like this with this story but I think that just proves that you never want something to end.
With the darkness growing inside Kali she will have to dig inside herself to find the light and use it to fight against Alaryk with all she has but this isn't a path that she has to go at completely alone her friends will be there to help her along this rocky way...but first, they need to make the one weapon that can help destroy him. You going down Alaryk. Just sayin.
This is a story that you all need to read is all I can say.
The final installment in the Royal Fae Guardians series is just as action-packed as the first two. We find Kali & her friends dealing with the losses that they faced when Alaryk unexpectedly invited himself to Ryland & Kali's commitment ceremony. While Arvayta is struggling after the battle Stryx has brought the other animals through the portal to help the guardians who are going after Alaryk to end his terror once and for all. Battling the darkness within her is getting harder & harder will Kali be successful or will she succumb to the numbness & release of the pain that the darkness offers.
In this book & the last, we get a few glimpses of who Ryland is as a guardian & a mate with different chapters in his point of view. Adam Gold brings Ryland to life with his amazing voice work. The exciting conclusion had me ugly crying like all of Heather's other books do.
“Of Blood and Sacrifice” by author Heather Renee is a great book finishing Kali’s story. The story continues with Kali’s battle between the light and darkness inside her; especially after what happened in the first book. Her quest is to kill the dark fae that is causing havoc throughout her world. Author Heather Renee writes Kali’s story of battling between the growing darkness inside her against the light as she must choose between giving in to the darkness and joining her worse enemy or holding on to the sliver of lightness that brings her to love. As a reader you will be biting your nails as you journey on a roller coaster of feelings, actions, and choices through out the book. This book is a great read and I highly recommend it.
What a wonderful and perfect ending for this amazing story of friendship, loyalty, growth and love!!! 🤗💓 Kali grows so much in this book, becoming what she was supposed to be, it was a hard, difficult path, but she made it, Stryx, Jordan and Ryland support were priceless!!! 🤩💪👊 #friendshipsgoals #mategoals #meraki Ryland also became what we all were hoping, loving, caring, protective, hot, so hot 😍🔥 They all work together, forming an amazing and powerful team, succeding in defeating Alaryk and their minions and giving us this sweet HEA we were waiting for!!! 💓 This series is so awesome, 💯 recommended, loved evey bit of it!!! 💖
DNF - quit at 21% Ok, by the time I called it quits, I was hating Kali, & it made me not want to see where this was going to take her. Then add in that I still hated Ryland, & I now I hated Stryx. That I still didn’t feel a legitimate connection between Kali & Ryland at the 21%. I just can’t justify reading a story where I hate the characters, & where I just don’t care what happens to them next.
At my age (approaching 60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
This was such an amazing conclusion to this duology! I loved how the characters progressed. This has such a thrilling conclusion and I was very happy with how the book ended. Kali has a lot to struggle with between good and evil and also within herself. How will things turn out for her and those she cares for? I am sad to this story over but I hope to see more in this world I loved these characters. If you enjoyed the first book you will enjoy this one and if you haven’t read the first one go do so then read this one. I enjoyed Kali’s love story and her journey. Also how much she grew throughout these two books.
Of Blood and Sacrifice Book 2 is a wonderful book! It made me laugh and of course cry. Kali and her bestie Jordan, her Meraki Ryland and of course Stryx have some trying times . Kali lost her parents and that starts her down the dark path just as the dark fae planned. She must learn to control her powers and stay in the light. The snark and friendship between "Chuck" and "Satan" continue as does Kali and Stryx bonded relationship. Will Kali and Ryland complete the soul bond? Read about their journey and be prepared to laugh and cry.
Little bit different having a 2 book set instead of a trilogy from Heather Renee here, but it works out in its own favor. I think that just enough was in here that I'm glad she didn't spread it over more books for Kali specifically. Having gone on the journey the first time with Kali and the Falls Trilogy, this was still inspiring and different enough that I'm going to be rereading it again. The battle between light and dark always works for me... even if I'm usually on the side of the dark, I'm glad Kali is able to find some balance.
I absolutely loved this book. The first one was amazing and this one is even better. Ryland is the perfect book boyfriend and Jordan is the best BFF you could ask for. This book will suck you in from the very first page and have you turning page after page and the action just keeps getting more and more intense. Heather creates worlds that are so much fun to escape to, that it is a pleasure to read.
I love Kali and I'm sad her story is over. The characters come together so well in this book learning how to work together and basically become a family. You get to see more of Kali's struggle with her magic in this book and there are a couple of times where you wonder if she will prevail. The epilogue was just awesome and had me crying with Kali and it was not something I expected.
This was such a well written book, Heather Renee has grown so much as an author and is truly talented. I really enjoyed that while Kali was dealing with loss and darkness there were still so many light moments and happiness. The secondary characters are amazing and really do the perfect job of supporting our girl. Kali's powers really blossomed and the crew gets to take on Alaryck. Definitely dont miss this book!
I’m a little confused as to how this book has such good reviews. I depend on reviews before I take the time to read a book. I thought I would enjoy this one based on the reviews I read. I thought the story started out well and had all the foundations of a good book. The plot was good and there was okay world building. However, the relationships in the book were not believable at all. No chemistry whatsoever between the hero and heroine.
The conclusion of this series was bittersweet for me. The epilogue left my heart happy for the gang. Kali, Ryland, Stryx, and Jordan are wonderful characters. I loved seeing the character growth and the bonding. The battle continued with Alaryk, and the battle didn’t disappoint. Happy to see that it was concluded as well in this installment. I listed to the audiobook and it was enjoyable. The narrators had pleasant voices. Highly recommend.
The twists and turns will keep you coming back for more. The characters are strong and the storyline was great and the action was nonstop. As Kaliah and her loved ones train for the battle to come between good and evil, will Kaliah be able to hold herself together and will their efforts be enough. The conclusion to this series had me holding my head yelling for Kaliah to get herself together. I absolutely loved this book and series.
Great story pulls you right in and takes you for a great ride!! Ryland is all things I love in an alpha male, caring, protective, supportive, affectionate and hot as hell!! I love Kali and Ryland journey through this book and how all the characters evolve. This has to be one of the best epilogue I've read, ends just perfect!! Thanks Heather for the new Fav!
Of Blood and Sacrifice was the epic finale in the Royal Fae Guardians duology written by Heather Renee. It was a beautiful mixture of intense action, tender moments, and general bad - assery. I’m a sucker for, not only an epic, soul mates love story, but also a snarky, loyal, and bad ass “supporting” cast of characters. ALL of which this story delivers in spades. OBAS was a nail biting finale that wraps up Kali and Rylands story perfectly!
Of Blood & Sacrifice is an incredible read!! This story was beautifully written!! It gives you a little bit of everything love, adventure and nail biting moments. Couldn’t put the book down in anticipation of reaching the end of this incredible journey!!
This book starts when the last one stopped. Kali is dealing with a huge loss, her powers come on full force, and has to work with the light and dark factions of her personality as she seeks to find revenge and justice for the wrongs done to her and her family by Alaryk. It's full of action and you will definitely enjoy it!
I enjoyed the whole story, just wished it went longer, felt like their fight from book 1 ended and 3 days later they're in the final battle. Delving deeper into the Meraki bond and letting them explore more deeply would be great! I am keen to read Jordan's story when it comes out! Plus more dragons!
This is one of my favorite YA series - a coming-of-age fantasy story with real emotions, grief, and revenge. Kali's emotional and physical battles aren't easily fought, but her relationships with Ryland, Jordan, and Stryx are so steadfast that she can overcome just about anything.
I hate giving it a 3 but... it was good just not great and get lacking at times. I don’t know how to describe it but I needed more. The characters are wonderful, the world was good it just felt like it was missing something. Great read, maybe I’m just in a sour mood and if I reread the books in a week or so I’ll feel differently.
This is a great ending to this trilogy. Don't forget the prequel that introduces Jordan, Ryland, and Oliver. If you can, read it first and you'll adore them even more. I'm still hoping for more additions to this world of characters especially Yelah, the dragon queen. Well done and thank you
I really enjoyed this duology. It really pulls you in right from the beginning. Loved seeing Kali really grow into herself and loved seeing the darker side to her too. Ryland was so protective and caring he kinda reminds me of Stephan Salvatore and I’m here for that 😂 And the ending was perfect 💕
To this series. These books were intense, filled with so much emotion and heartbreak. But also so full of love and courage. I really enjoyed the journey and the ending could not have been better!
Kaliah tussles with the light and dark factions of her personality as she seeks to find retribution for the wrongs done to her and her family by Alaryk. Lots of characters of all sorts. It is an edge of the seat read with plenty of action.
Great ending to the story. I was hoping for a 3rd book but enjoyed rhis one a bit more. Kali became someone I didn't think she would become but with love and people by her sid ease overcame those odds. Great ending too.
