I knew I should have stayed away from my older sister’s best friend, but that’s hard to do when she bets on a date with you at the Date-A-Deputy Auction in our hometown of Emerson Falls, Oregon, and wins.
So, what does any self-respecting man do in that situation? Gets the woman to admit she wants me too even though she denies it.
Clara Anderson was now a more beautiful version of the woman I harbored a crush on as a teenager, and after her near death experience—one in which I saved her from—it seemed she finally started noticing me as more than the scrawny boy she picked on while we were growing up.
In fact, her drunken confessions of her attraction to me only fueled my desire to make the woman mine. So when she wins the date with me, using the donation to charity as her excuse, I use it as my opportunity to wear down her defenses and take a shot at finding out if there’s more than just a physical attraction between us.
You see, Clara isn’t the relationship type, a detail my sister used to warn me away from her. And since Clara admits this too, we agree to discover this connection between us in secret, complete with many benefits.
Only, dating her in secret doesn’t sit well with me for long, and when I push for more, I threaten to ruin the relationship I’ve always wanted with this woman, and the relationship she has with my sister.
However, there are questions that need to be answered when everything explodes.
Will Clara admit that there’s something real between us and let me love her the way she deserves? Or did she just entice me from the beginning, running the risk of losing not only her best friend, but me as well?

▪▪▪ She intrigues me, entices me—and I haven’t felt that for another woman like I do for her ▪▪▪
Enticed is book two in the Emerson Falls series by Harlow James and follows Clara and Cooper who we met in book one
Clara is dealing with the aftermath of a horrible and traumatic event and finds herself getting closer, both physically and emotionally, to the person who was there with her, who saved her and continues to save as her she tries to find a way to take back control of her life. Only problem is he is her best friends younger brother
Cooper Walsh has been crushing on his sisters best friend for a while now and would love nothing more than to explore his growing feelings further. After responding to a call one day while on duty, he could never have imagined the scene that would unfold and end up changing his whole life
Clara is such a strong and independent character who refuses to let the events of her life define her and even though her journey is not easy and she doesn't always deal with things in the best way her resilience and strength is admirable. I loved everything about her and how unapologetic she was. Watching her deal with everything thrown her was was both heart breaking and empowering. Cooper was such a dream. He was kind, sweet, respectful, protective, loving and sexy as hell. He was only 3 years younger than Clara but I felt his maturity level matched hers beautifully. I loved how much he truly cared about Clara and how patient he was with her. Their chemistry and attraction was undeniable and I loved the progression of their relationship and their story made me giddy and swoon constantly
I loved all the side characters and getting to catch up with everyone from book one. Kane and Liv are still adorable as ever, Mama Walsh is as amazing as ever and shoutout to Penny who is one of the greatest side characters ever. At the end of the book we get a little snipet of whats to come and I'm so excited to see how Cash & Pipers story goes as I have a feeling it'll be my favourite
TW as stated by the author for attempted sexual assault
《book aesthetic made by me, I do not own the pictures, all found via pinterest》
💚Best friend's younger brother 💚Secret relationship 💚Overcoming trauma and insecurities 💚Steamy scenes and flirty banter 💚Hilarious friends and secondary characters
I just loved Clara. She is a sassy girl, very independent, feisty and passionate. Cooper is sweet, a hero, an uniformed swoony guy, and has self-esteem. Clara is Olivia’s friend, Cooper's sister, whom you will meet in the first book of the Emerson Falls series. They are independent volumes but I recommend that you read the story of Olivia and Kane in Tangled. You will love them!
Clara faces two totally different but necessary situations to overcome. First, there is dealing with the trauma or fears that growing because her attempted of rape. Second, there are the consequences of having a relationship with your best friend's brother. The attraction between Cooper and Clara is increasing rapidly. With each flirtation, the desire between the two is off the charts. And when they unleash their passion, these two together are like a Fourth of July. Making sparks sprout everywhere.
Harlow not only brings us an emotional, fun and super sexy hot read, she also shows us through Clara about the importance of seeking help when you cannot confront your demons by yourself. I really loved Clara and Cooper. And I can't finish this review without mentioning my favorite supporting character, Penny. She killed me. In a good way. I wasn't expecting a character like her, which added more laughter and fun.
The next story in this series is from Cash, Cooper's partner. The excerpt Harlow gave us was enough to die for knowing more.
Cooper wasn’t just Clara’s bestie’s younger brother. He was a pet-owner, a cop, a brother, friend, and a son. He had a sense of humor, he could cook, and hey, he also made good boyfriend material, but Clara takes a while to figure that out. I loved him and was glad he stood up for his feelings with Clara. She needed someone solid in her corner.
If Cooper was an open book, Clara was the opposite. She was smart, driven, loyal, and reliable, but kept a lot of herself locked up emotionally. What was so fascinating to me was how little her best friends didn’t realize how so until the can of worms exploded. And Clara’s can exploded in a punch-in-the-gut reality check that frankly, she desperately needed to wake her up.
Obviously, I was thrilled with the layers:)
Their romance is a role reversed, best friend’s younger brother- something I normally have difficulty getting in to. With Cooper and Clara, Harlow didn’t have me focused on their age gap or differences. She had me hook, line, and sinker with seeing these two overcoming Clara’s demons and getting a highly deserved HEA! Cooper and Clara were also hot, hot, and did I mention HAWT! And Harlow made these guys pop off the pages. The combustible chemistry fairly oozed from the pages, but tie in those messy things called emotions...GAH!! Deliciously wonderful end results!!
(Have I mentioned this is only the second time I’ve read Harlow James? I want to take her to lunch and give her big hugs for making me want to buy her books!)
I received an advance reader copy from the author and this is my honest review.
This is the story of Clara and her Best friend younger brother Cooper, after years of knowing each other something happened that bring Cooper to take care of Clara and that leads to a beautiful love story that doesn’t know about age or the past.
Clara was a great female lead , Independent, hardworking and very strong I admire her through the whole journey of healing and learning to love and trust another person. Cooper was such a charismatic good guy I felt in love with him immediately , The side characters were great and very enjoyable too.
This was a very good book , first and no the last time I will read this author.

Just finished an ARC of Harlow James’ second book in her Emerson Falls series. Let me tell you it has everything, secret relationship, older sister BFF/BFF’s little brother, hot cop troupes, what’s not to love? My one issue with the book... who eats biscuits with chicken piccata? Lol. And maybe that’s the Italian In me that believes chicken piccata should be eaten with pasta. Regardless this was a great books with many twists and turns and I can’t wait for book three!!!!
Oh my word, I was stoked to receive an ARC of Enticed after reading Tangled by Harlow James. This group of girls are everything I want in a crew of best friends and their love for one another and the realness of their lives really drew me in. I was so excited to read about the loud, out there, unashamed, sassy Clara and her best friends younger brother Cooper. I love the idea that he’s all grown up now and well and truly ready to take what he wants and she’s more than happy to deliver...in secret. Reading about Clara overcoming her demons and the traumatic events that happened to her was truly heart wrenching. It was real, emotional and tough. Harlow wrote that perfectly. Cooper was such a sweetheart through this whole book, but I wish he would’ve put his foot down sooner, or just used that dirty mouth of his to get what he wanted earlier. Such a lovely read and they’re a couple that I was rooting for from day one. Harlow writes beautifully and they’re such real stories that I wish I could be a part of their world. If you haven’t gone to Emerson Falls yet, what are you waiting for?!
Harlow James delivers a great best friend's brother romance. In the beginning Clara goes through something that could change her forever. She becomes a different person, when she doesn't know how to deal with what happened. Cooper was there and he is the only one besides Clara who knows what really happened that night. Cooper is the one who saved her that night and now he wants to always be there for her, even if he is her best friend's little brother. Seeing Cooper always be there to help Clara get through everyday was so amazing and sweet. Even though Clara didn't want to count on Cooper, she knew deep down that she always could count of him. Cooper is police officer, he is kind, sweet, thoughtful and protective, basically he might just be the perfect guy! Clara is strong, independent and the perfect fit for Cooper. Cooper and Clara are absolutely great together. Their chemistry was off the charts even when Clara didn't even see it. This book was a huge turner and definitely kept me wanting more. I absolutely adore this series and I am so excited for Cash's story. These Emerson Fall boys are highly addicting!
Loved Clara and Cooper. Nothing better than trying not to fall for your best friends little brother. However there is a serious topic in this storyline that is never easy to discuss and the author does an amazing job of it.
This book was sooo good! I LOVED Cooper and Claras story and being back in Emerson Falls and getting to see all the people from the first book it just keeps getting better cant wait to go back and read more.
Having finished Tangled back in December, I was so intrigued by Clara and Cooper’s relationship, I couldn’t wait to read Enticed. As this is book 2 in the Emerson Falls series, you don’t need to have read book 1, as it can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading Tangled first because you then get to fully appreciate the friendships and group dynamic of this amazing group of friends.
Enticed starts with Clara Anderson dealing with the aftermath of a traumatic attack which happened in her place of work. As she starts to spiral downwards, putting on a front to her friends and family, the only person who knows how she’s really dealing with the aftereffects is her best friends’ younger brother, Cooper Walsh. Clara begins to open up to Coop as he’s the only other person who knows the real truth of what happened that night. She relies on him when she’s feeling down, but at the same time her romantic feelings grow, as even before that night she'd began to notice he’s not the gangly teenage boy she knew growing up anymore.
Cooper, Olivia from book 1’s younger brother, has harboured a crush on Clara for years, ever since she hung round his house as a teenager. He always wrote it off as attraction and nothing more, but when he rescues her from the attack and Clara opens up to him more each time they spend time together, he begins to realise that there could be something more between them, if only they could have the chance to explore the chemistry.
As luck would have it, a charity bachelor auction for the local police force is put together, which is the perfect opportunity for them to spend time together and go on a date without having to answer questions from the nosy small-town residents and Olivia. Their attraction grows and they give in to their mutual feelings, but under the promise that their relationship stays a secret. But are there other reasons why their relationship can’t be out in the open? Can they overcome the events from that traumatic night together and finally admit their true feelings, or will fear of the unknown stop them from getting their HEA?
These characters were incredible. I loved Clara, she was so strong and sassy on the surface, so unapologetically herself, but underneath has a vulnerable side, although she's nowhere near broken. She puts on this front to avoid her true feelings about what happened, and that’s relatable, because it’s not easy to admit that things are difficult, and you don’t want to feel like a burden to those around you. Which is why Cooper is so amazing, because he shows Clara that it’s okay to rely on others when you need them and that you can get through anything with the support of those you love. How she dealt with everything wasn’t ideal, her journey was not an easy one, but she grew so much as a person, not because she had to but because she wanted to.
And Cooper! I joked with Harlow when I was halfway through that he might be my favourite, just above Kane but by the end I’ve decided I’ll have both. He was amazing, he knew what he wanted and he wasn’t going to give in until he got it, even if that meant going through some heartbreak along the way. He was everything he needed to be, for himself, Clara, his family, Roark! He was respectful, loving, caring and so swoon worthy, I fell for him just as hard as Clara. The chemistry between them was coming off the pages and I adored their journey, even though it did make my heartache at times.
One of my favourite things about the Emerson Falls series is how all the characters are interconnected, even if all the books can be standalone. I love that you feel like you become a part of this group of friends, you laugh when they laugh, you go through heartbreak with them, and you’re happy for them when something amazing happens. Harlow has such a way with words that you feel like you are in the book, and you experience everything they go through as if you are there. Every single side character contributed to this book and intrigued you into wanting to know more about them. I am so ready for Cash’s story, the little teaser at the end has made me so excited for it already!
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.*
This story did not disappoint. I love a best friend's brother trope. Clara and Cooper's story was hot and sweet. Cooper was the perfect man to tame Clara. After he saved her life, he was so patient with her as she crumbled before his eyes. This story was about picking up the pieces and moving on. The characters had real problems and fears. They feel like real people. I am looking forward to my next visit to Emerson Falls.
Full review coming tomorrow! But for now just know that I’m obsessed with Cooper and Clara’s love story!!!
Cooper Walsh is Clara’s best friend’s baby brother, the kid she called Twiggy back in high school. After life leads them in separate ways for a couple of years they’re both caught off guard after being reintroduce one night at a family dinner and both take notice that they’re now adults (and hella hot). After Cooper saves Clara from a horrible break and enter at her office that goes terribly wrong, their connection grows in the aftermath of this event that changed their lives forever. But Coop is the little brother of her best friend not a possible love interest so they both fight their growing feelings until one night they decide to give each other a shot but only in secret of course!
My favorite things about this book: - The friendships! Harlow has the ability to write such amazing friendships. Clara has three best friends which she’s had since high school and the bonds they have and their interactions are so well written! Plus I love Cooper’s cop friends! They’re so much more than just coworkers. - The steamy scenes! The sexual tension between Clara and Cooper was off the charts. I mean hot damn was there some fire between them! - Mental illness representation specifically anxiety! Clara suffers from anxiety and ptsd after a sexual assault incident. (Trigger warning) She drowns her demons in alcohol for a while but she wants to get better and so she seeks out a therapist to help her work through her issues. I absolutely love that therapy is represented in this book and that we get to see Clara put in the hard work of processing her feelings and issues from that night and everything that followed. - Secret romance! I can’t help but love this trope when it’s well written and boy did Harlow write it well. As a reader you can fully sympathize why Clara asks to keep the relationship a secret. I mean Cooper is her best friends younger brother plus she’s not the relationship type. But as Cooper and Clara’s feelings grow and progress you fully start to sympathize with Cooper and wanting them to come clean! I loved the way their relationship progressed throughout the book! The pacing was honestly perfect!
Thank you so much Harlow James for giving me this ARC in return for my honest review!
Original. Emotional. Real. SWOONY 😭😭 These are only some of the adjectives I’d use to describe this book.
Some others: Phenomenal. Captivating.... I mean I could go on.....
One of the many reasons I love discovering authors through bookstagram is because I find gems like this one.
As much as I love a good romance, I’m more likely to thoroughly enjoy it if it has substance. By that I mean, development in a character that allows me to not only relate to our main character but also form an attachment to them.
And that’s one of the things I loved the most about this book. Seeing Clara progress as a character who just went through a traumatizing experience (which the author handled really well given the topic) and is facing demons that many will find relatable, to someone who not only seeks help but is able to grow in a way that would inspire a reader that might be going through a similar situation and give them hope.
And then we have the forbidden romance aspect and we all know how much I love a good angsty couple with lots of tensions and ‘Enticed’ delivered on that end. But what I loved the most: when you fall in love with someone you allow yourself to be vulnerable and in turn you sometimes make mistakes and do stupid things and I think Harlow did an amazing job of showing that. Of portraying a relationship that not only was angst filled, but showing the struggle of allowing yourself to open up and evolve when in love. It’s one of my favorite concepts to read.
And Cooper, one of the best male leads I’ve read in a while. Honestly, I’m still drooling. Cooper just might be my new love. Scratch that, he is. Not only was he everything I could only ever dream of, but I loved the way he handled Clara. Being there for her while also giving her the space and time to realize her mistakes. We love a supportive king 👑.
Another thing I really loved was the friendship dynamic between the characters. They were wholesome, hilarious, and have me wanting to see more from Emerson Falls. I will be highly anticipating Cash’s story!
Absolutely loved this one and can’t wait to see more!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”The more I learn about the woman she is now, the deeper I feel like she’s pulling me under her spell.”✨ . If you enjoy: •Best Friends Brother Romance •Steamy Scenes and Banter •Overcoming Trauma •Secret Relationship •Dual POV Then this may be the one for you!✨ . Here I thought the first book was hot... please. This one will set your kindle on fire! This book is full of sexual banter and hot steamy scenes!!✨ . Clara is a strong, sassy, what you see is what you get, independent woman. Hilarious jokester. I could clearly see so much of myself in her. Especially some of the things she said- had me laughing out loud. But she’s not without her insecurities. Aren’t we all? After going through a traumatic event, she picks herself right back up, which I admire. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have lingering effects. And after making some missteps, not dealing in a healthy way, I adore the way in which the writer wrote her finding help in the end.✨ . Cooper is a sweet, genuine, protective and loyal hero. And super sexy. He’s there for Clara in that traumatic event and even more so after. And the result is so much sexual tension you could cut it with a knife! Their chemistry is undeniable. Game of cat and mouse chase. But their story turns from banter and steam, into secrets and hurt. That will have you on the fence about whose side your on.✨ . The co-characters really make this series and book as well! Mama Walsh continues to shine in this book. And Penny, what a hoot! She is something else you won’t expect! The friendship amongst the women is still as strong as ever, but in this book you will see it tested. You also get some more of Liv and Kane, from Book 1, which I absolutely adored. Definitely check these books out!✨ . This is Book 2 in the Emerson Falls Series. You can read it as a stand-alone but I definitely recommend reading Tangled- Book 1 as well, as it’s so great and introduces Clara and Cooper perfectly. Cash is up next and he’s a charmer, that one. Can’t wait to see what the author has in store for him. Also, Luke! He has to have a book please and thank you, because I NEED that story.✨ . TW-assault, attempted sexual assault.
Nobody writes the perfect book boyfriend like Harlow James! There is just something about Cooper Walsh. This strong, sensitive man that would move heaven and earth for Clara. Just so dreamy! I feel for Clara for all the trauma she endured. She’s struggling with so much that it’s understandable that she’s trying to find a solution to get through the lingering PTSD. Cooper is so vital to her recovery and you can feel their chemistry in every encounter. I really enjoyed reading Clara’s transformation from beginning to end. It was extremely well written! It goes to show the more you keep bottled inside, the more it’ll fester and spread. But the more you talk about it and get it out of your system, the better your mindset will be. Having best friends that you can count on, no matter what, is always a HUGE PLUS. The steam level was through the roof in this book! 🔥 HOT HOT HOT.
I have a love/hate relationship with forbidden love tropes. This one was definitely one I LOVED. Best friends YOUNGER brother (not a big age gap, only 3 years), secret relationship. It was definitely interesting!
What a great story! The best friends little brother is slightly taboo-ish, but those are the best kind, right?! Clara, the girl who is comfortable with her sexuality and doesn't do relationships, finds that Cooper has grown into a hunk of a man after a traumatic event. She tried to resist, but Cooper didn't make it very easy! Lots of steamy scenes and swoon worthy moments. Makes my heart happy!
Whew! Now that is some sexual tension! Cooper and Clara’s chemistry really jumped off the page. I enjoyed watching them go from obvious attraction to conditional acceptance to full on head over heels. And there was just enough drama thrown in to keep you hanging on the edge of your seat to the last page. Definitely a sexy and satisfying read!
My goodness.... this one hits ya right in the heart!
Also, I’m binging everything by Harlow James soooo **insert girlish squeal**!! Strong 4.5 stars on this one!! Also, I really hope there’s a book with Luke.... idk why, but I need to know more about this man.
“Damn…I’m playing with fire and I know deep in my gut – this can’t end well.”
Here we are again, friends. Book number six written by Harlow James and, dare I say it, her best work yet. I am amazed by her uncanny ability to tell thought-provoking, heart-warming stories that leave her readers satisfied and anxious for her next release. This novel was no different. She takes two beautifully flawed humans and paints a brilliant story of true love and perseverance.
Our story begins with a traumatic event. There is a trigger warning graciously given to us by Harlow, which I would advise you heed warning of if you’re likely to be triggered by rape/attempted rape scenes. Yes, Clara is almost raped at the beginning of this novel and it’s a slow downhill ride for her. She’s a substantially flawed character, but I think that’s why she’s my favorite part of this novel. She’s my favorite character, her dialogue was brilliant, the choices she made were so perfectly human, everything about her was so relatable. Bravo, Harlow, for writing such a complex character. Clara struggles…a lot…and for a long time. She hides her pain from her friends and drowns her fears in alcohol. It’s through her many trips home from the bar, where she is drinking away her fears, that she becomes close with Cooper, our leading man. Cooper is the younger brother of Olivia, from the first book in the Emerson Falls series, Tangled. Cooper is a police officer and was the man who saved Clara from her attacker; he is also the one constantly called to pick her up from the bar and take her home after she’s had too much to drink. There’s a strong bond between these two. Cooper feels so much for Clara, but also sees how much she’s suffering under her exterior. He sees and understands her pain. Clara has a very difficult time admitting that she is suffering from PTSD, but with Cooper’s help, she’s able to come to terms with her insecurities and face her past.
Cooper and Clara fight their attraction towards each other at the beginning. It’s more difficult for Cooper because anytime Clara drinks, she throws herself at him and then doesn’t remember it the next day. Sober Clara fights her attraction to Cooper because of her fear of ruining her friendship with her best friend, Olivia, Cooper’s older sister, and because she’ insecure. Clara has always been independent and self-assured, she’s not used to relying on someone, so she’s constantly fighting Cooper any chance she gets. Cooper is up front and honest about his feelings as things become more serious between the two, but Clara’s insecurities get in the way of their HEA. When it all comes crashing down, it’s hard to blame either one of our lovers. They struggle so much with their feelings for one another, that even when everything turns for the worst, you’re rooting for them no matter what. These two characters are fighters and it’s beautiful to watch them finally get all that they deserve. This was an epic love story, one for the books. These two remind us that we’re never alone in our battles and that it’s always okay to ask for help. We’re stronger together and made better with love in our lives. Thank you for letting me beta read this gorgeous novel for you, Harlow. I am so honored and humbled. I’m so freaking ready for your next book! Bring it on!!
“That’s all I want, Clara – to be a team with you, face life together, protect each other.”
Oh Gosh Miss Harlow, you really brought it again with this book.
Oh and I recieved this ARC from the author in return for an honest review.
What a book filled with many feels, feels of frustration, of anger, of pity, of love, of happy, of laughter, of joy and a few WTF moments flung in for good measure.
Clara what a horrible traumatic ordeal you suffered, how does anyone deal with that let alone ever get over it!! You did what a lot of people would do in this same situation, you hit the bottle and boy did you hit it hard. I guess it's easier to do this than face the struggles life is throwing at you.
Along came dog loving, sensitive, family loving, charming sexy as hell Cooper to your rescue!! Who wouldn't want this man taking you home at the end of an evening.
The chemistry Clara and Cooper shared in this book was off the charts amazing, it's just such a shame Clara was too lost or drunk to remember it.
Thank God for auctions and a bit of good old fashioned jealousy to set things on track. This day definitely was the start of Clara's life changing again for the better.
This book really shows us the upheaval that abuse victims go through in their struggle to get their lives back. Clara dealt with insecurity and really low self worth, she felt she didn't deserve love and struggled with how to cope with her feelings. A horrible side effect to this is that she pushed away those she loved most while hurting them in the process.
It was so lovely to see how Clara overcame those fears, started talking about her feelings and to really overcome everything the abuse brought out.
The ending in this book was simply amazing, I could of cried with joy oh and that little surprise you flung in there, well , bring it on!!!
Oh and I also love to see more of Kane and Liv in this book , gosh Kane loves his wife hard ❤ great to see those guys living their happily ever after.
Will Deputy Walsh finally get his woman or will Clara’s insecurities keep getting in the way of their happy ever after?
Cooper and Clara have been dancing around each other for years. When they are properly reacquainted in October Clara suddenly sees him as more than just her best friends little brother. He has filled out and is a very respected Deputy in Emerson Falls. When Clara finds herself the victim of an awful crime it is Cooper that comes to her aid and saves her from one of the worst situations she could be in. Clara desperately tries to get past her horrific ordeal and yet keeps finding herself being rescued by Cooper. They both try to fight the attraction but in the end it wins out and they embark on a secret affair. Clara has many insecurities, the age gap, her reluctance to have a relationship being another, but mainly she is increasingly scared to tell Liv, Coopers sister, until eventually it all comes to a head and sparks fly. Poor Cooper.... she really put him through it... I had a lot of sympathy and respect for his character and the way he dealt with the aftermath of their confession was the right thing to do. I totally understood Clara’s situation but I really wanted to shake her at some points!! I enjoyed this second visit to Emerson Falls from Ms James. I connected with the characters easily and found the humour and dialogue entertaining. I could relate to a lot of things.... her observations regarding teenagers certainly ring true in my household just now!!!😂 Sometimes I felt the descriptions went on a bit too much and I could have easily skim read parts but I was invested and wanted to see how things panned out. It was also great to keep tabs on Liv and Kane. The teaser for the next book in the series was definitely intriguing....!🤔 I was delighted to receive an arc from the author and this is my honest review.
If you haven’t read Harlow James’ books then you need to fix that right now! “Enticed” is Book 2 of her Emerson Falls series and although it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you read the first book “Tangled”, because let’s face it, when something is that good you need to gobble it up. “Enticed” is so many different things and all of them good. It’s a Forbidden/Reverse age gap romance read with main characters so well written, you will find yourself drawn to them on a cellular level. Clara is a strong, opinionated, career oriented modern woman. She owns her sexuality proudly and unashamedly. But underneath that facade lies a beautifully damaged and fragile soul that no one knows or understands. Not even her best friends. But one night, one incident and one man will forever change that. Cooper Walsh is everything. He is such a beautiful man. Strong, loyal, dedicated, honest and loving. A sexy as sin man in uniform that will melt your panties with his smile and your heart with his actions. Harboring a secret crush on his sister’s best friend, his protective instincts and inner caveman make him both her protector and savior. Their attraction to one another is hot on every level but Clara is not ready to give more than her body even though her heart is close behind. Cooper wants her more than his next breath and will take what he can get. Things heat up between them and as the cards on the table change so does their relationship. Their happily ever after is ever so sweet and will leave you with a smile on your face. TBR this incredible book and enjoy. (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.)
3.5 stars. I was given this advanced copy from the author. I really enjoyed the character development of Cooper and Clara, along with the supporting characters in the novel. I especially enjoyed Cooper's mannerisms in how he treated Clara.
Clara has had some trauma and Cooper is in it to help her through it, because he was there when it happened.
They determine together to be together, along with their intense sexual angst towards one another. There is strong language and many sexual situations. This is done well, but it is there!
I enjoyed this story. At times there were predictable moments, but they didnt shy away from the story. I struggled with the POVs a bit until I understood the writing style. Once I figured out how this plot was flowing I was able to go with the flow.
This was my first book of Harlow Jame's. Thank you for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
enticed is the second book of the emerson falls series and it was a cute, fun, sweet read! it kinda has that forbidden love trope with clara falling in love with her bestfriend's younger brother.
"She enticed me with her beauty, drew me in with her humor, and has secured me with her heart."
i adore cooper so much. he was sweet, cared for clara and he definitely knew what he wanted. clara is a strong heroine who went through a traumatic experience, but the way she holds herself is what i admire the most about her. i love clara and cooper together. they had cute, swoony moments and i love the simplicity of their love.
harlow is a great writer and i love how easy it is to connect with these characters. you become invested with the people of emerson falls, that it's so easy to love them.
I love this story and I love Cooper! I had a relationship with a man younger than me and although we didn't have a happily ever after, I have some wonderful memories.
Coming back to Clara and Cooper's story, I really like the way Harlow made an explosive combination of two different personalities. They are hot and perfect together. Although their story starts from a traumatic event, it's still a sweet one. The way the two overcome the things that haunt Clara, Cooper's way of being, Clara's stubbornness, are all the ingredients of a great story that will please anyone who reads it.
Although it is a standalone, please read Tangled first. You'll see why.
I like how Harlow writes, she creates real stories with authentic characters that anyone of us can identify with. I became her fan even though it's only the second book of hers that I read.
uh what!!!!! hot damn Cooper and Clara!!!! the way Tangled ended you just were waiting for Harlow to release this book and heck yes she did not disappoint. the way she starts this book off is just so much to handle its making your mind race and you have to know more more more. The "secret" love they are developing through out this book is just so good!! some parts made me just so mad in a good way but my heart hurt for both of them. like wake up who cares just let the world know your in love!!!! such stubborn they both are. but they wake up and realize that they are halves to a whole. and i love that Clara made all the moves it shows that yes us women can be wrong to lol. thank you cooper thank you for rescuing her in so many ways!!! Thank you next book please Harlow!!!!!
Title: Enticed (Emerson Falls, Book 2) Author: Harlow James Genre: Contemporary romance My rating: 4.5 ++
Wow! What a great story. Harlow has such a way with words that entangles your soul. You get sucked in right away. Your emotions run at different speeds—high and low. As was the case with Clara and Coopers story. What these two had to overcome was devastating. But soon devastation turned to a sweet, sultry love affair they’re lucky to find. This book has all the ingredients one needs to cook up a good book and I’m glad to have had the awesome opportunity to receive an ARC. Happy reading!

Harlow James never disappoints. Once again, she delivers a lovely sexy funny story with some stirring moments. The trope is quite common, a forbidden love story between a brother and his sister's best friend, but the plot is refreshing. The woman is for once the one wooing the man!
