I don’t even know where to start…I was hesitant to read book two after the pooshow that book one was. I figured I’d just skim this one; well I ended up getting mad and nosy so I kept at it. The more I read in it, the more anger and depression I experienced.
This one involves Macy, Chey’s best friend from book one and Rourke who is close to Trax, which is Chey’s guy.
Macy came off as snippy and blunt, but kinda funny in book one In book two, turns out she’s just got a bad attitude and low self esteem.
Rourke, came off as a slient but deadly type in book one. In book two, turns out he’s actually got low self esteem also.
The A used these traits as the excuse for Macy to have a 3 way, yes you read that right, at the beginning of this book with Gage and Rourke. Macy’s ex had just broken up with her and told her she was boring. And both Macy and Rourke, thought a share and play session was the only way they’d ever get to experience one another. I ALMOST stopped reading after that. These guys are usually wrote as protective and alpha. Well, not this one. It’s a step right up read! So now not only do both of them have to know she’s been with Gage also and Rourke saw it, but now whoever Gage gets with in the future I’m sure will be wrote in as ending up besties with Macy who hooked it up with her man. Sorry…but while I have NO issues with people doing what, who, how ever many they want together or separate, what I DON’T want is to have to constantly be around the female or females that my man was with before and then end up having to be friends with her. It’s just awkward.
Are we sure this A is really a female? Normally, I’m against the female and on the males side in books when there’s an issue or bad treatment. But in this one, and in book one, when there’s an issue, no matter which main caused the problem the female GIVES IN and finds herself apologizing, giving in, feeling like whatever issue is her fault. Now if it is your fault, then apologize. But it’s the way these drama situations are coming off in these books that it’s like the female is NOT equal and a second-class citizen.
There’s so much emotional turmoil in this relationship. And the guys are very verbally abusive and or nasty to the females, especially when it’s not their female. You’ll likely see what I mean if you read these. It’s like this vibe where the guys are the manly men and the females are just B’s.
The club is NUMBER ONE, females are second place and don’t matter. You should respect the club above all else. Females are to be seen, suck ing and not heard. This is the vibe.
In actuality, this vibe and behavior is probably more real life MC style. So perhaps it’s a more realistic representation? But it sure hasn’t instilled a fantasy desire for an MC man for me.
I don’t mind the in ti mate encounters, I like a lot of that usually and more free love view. But when it comes to books, I want the mains, while in the book to only be with one another and a level of respect and number one priority between them.
Some c o n d o m u s e .
Minor other women, other men drama outside of the 3 play.
No physical cheating.
The last 15 percent of the book was really the only bonding and enjoyable portion of the relationship.
Brace yourself for everything being the female’s fault. I hate this club.
I’m honestly eager to see more reviews come in for this series and see if they’re mostly all fluff read anything reviews and five star it or if more detailed ones come in and if anyone agrees with my assessment.
Pretty clear, minor errors.

Another book by this author that is so bad it's almost good. This stars two very unlikeable heroes. I have no idea why the book is called The Hero, because no one does anything heroic in it. Is it heroic to refrain from killing someone? Maybe in a motorcycle club it is? It can't be the threesome in the beginning of the book, cause I've never heard of heroic threesome sex.

Anyway, two unlikeable main characters. The h, Macy, flies into anger fueled rages at the drop of a hat. The H, Rourke, has no communication skills whatsoever. But I still gobbled it up. So much drama. The supporting cast is almost as awful as in the last book, but Macy is so horrible that you can almost get why they are awful to her. I would have banned her for life too. And Chey, who was stupid but sweet in the last book, is just stupid and annoying in this one.

But yes, I am jumping into the next book, and I honestly have no idea why seeing as I don't like the characters, but am somehow invested.

Another good one!

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: ONS
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Such a great story written with a ton of feeling! Absolutely love strong heroines who err on the side of being antagonistic, lol, and the men who are brave enough to fall for their spicy butts 😂😂. Probably because I can relate all too well, lol. Great story that moves quickly with lots of action. I have a feeling I'm going to tear through this entire series!

The things that bothered me in the first book kept happening here, but Roarke and Macy made them go nuclear, which drove me nuts, yet I couldn't stop reading. They would fight bad, shouting, horrible things being said, then talk it out, then it would happen again. So nuts! It didn't help that most of the club and Cheyenne got in on things. But with that being said, once they worked things out, both were sweet to each other, both told each other they were out of their league, both realized they had the best thing ever in the other person. I really liked how Macy got how important Trini and Emme were to Roarke and did what she could to make sure that they make the move when the club does to Ghosttown. And boy the move is shaping up to be very interesting, can't wait for these bikers to start to take over the town!

I’m not sure about these Ghosttown Riders guys, they all seem to be assholes. I get they aren’t sure about “dating” and shit but the sex then the brush off or just plain rudeness got old fast.

And the heroine in this book while feisty one minute was a bit immature; just freakin talk or ask.

This was a DNF for me. The constant conflict and misunderstandings drove me nuts; misunderstandings happen but man oh man some of them were just crazy.

Quick(ish) Review

Series Thoughts: Damn. I'm surprised at how much I got sucked into this crackilicious series. I mean, I hate the way it starts (more on that later), but emotionally this sucked me right in and even made me like some of these guys that I thought I'd never like (yes I'm looking at you Kase). What I loved is the characters. Especially the way this deals with every day life - there's a character with dementia, whose journey and final moments actually made me cry. There's alot of the aftermath of moving on from grief, that was touching and really hooked me into tearing through this 8 book series like a toddler through a lego set. I was all into it.

This is in line with most MC romances - there's violence, physical and attempted sexual assault, murder, multiple kidnappings. This is a series of bikers trying to get out of the life and move to Ghosttown, population 45. Each couple is settling in a town where literally you know everyone else, so there's no diversity and while there's interactions with the residents of Ghosttown, it's mostly biker centric. The series is also in line with Ghosttown East - around 3 or 4 on the WTFery scale.

The main reason I'm rating this series lower, however, is the editing - missing, misspelled words, and continuity questions really hurt the narrative, which is pretty damn good. But when I'm pulled out of the moment because I'm trying to figure out what you meant to write, not what's on the page, it's a problem.

So with that said, let's focus on the individual books:

The Hero: Macy is a hot mess express, so Rourke is the selling feature here, if only because he's all about Macy. But these buttheads are also lousy communicators and the only reason I'm even into it is because I'm ok with the threesome. Much is made of that threesome at the beginning of this book, and I don't mind because I knew it was coming, and it was very very clear who was the guy she was really into. It was more for titillation and to reinforce that these two most definitely make mistakes but they're right for each other. Plus, it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. I enjoy that Ms. Shea doesn't focus on the virgin trope at all - these are people DTF and it happens, but it doesn't matter until they fall in love. 2*

This was undone by really unlikable characters and a lack of a real threat to the relationship. The h was probably much more appealing in the first book, but she comes across as unstable and harsh here rather than a sassy spitfire, which I think she was meant to be. To illustrate how bad she was, I completely agreed with the club 's decision to bar her from the clubhouse. The H was supposed to be an alpha of few words but strong feelings, but instead we get inarticulate, unthought-out reluctance. Also, the way they hooked up was sleazy and cowardly.

This book is an exciting rollercoaster of emotions, blending intense romance with the gritty world of bikers. Rourke is the classic bad*ss biker—big, intimidating, and a man of few words. Despite his rough exterior, he has a soft spot, especially when it comes to his sister Trini, niece Emme, and, of course, Macy. Macy, on the other hand, is outspoken, funny, and brings a lot of life to the story. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their banter keeps things lively, even though their constant arguing did get a little frustrating at times.

What I loved most about the book was how real their relationship felt. They both had moments where they said things they regretted, and their fights were intense. But when they made up, you could feel the love pouring off the pages. There’s also plenty of suspense, especially when Macy finds herself in danger, and I couldn't flip the pages fast enough to see what would happen next.

However, I have to admit, the back-and-forth drama between Rourke and Macy sometimes felt like it was on repeat. They’d fight, make up, and then fight again, which got a little tiring. That said, their character growth made up for it, and by the end, I was rooting for them both.

The way Macy embraces Rourke’s family and understands the importance of his connection with them was a highlight for me. Plus, the larger storyline involving the club’s move to Ghosttown is shaping up to be really interesting. I can't wait to see what happens next in this series!

Overall, if you’re into strong alpha heroes, fierce heroines, and some steamy moments mixed with a bit of biker club chaos, this is definitely a series worth picking up. It’s not without its flaws, but it’s a fun and intense ride. Four stars!

I LOVED IT!

I really loved this book. Rourke is a big gorgeous bad*ss biker who is definitely a man of few words who can scare the sh*t out of people just by looking at them, and he is a force to be reckoned with. Macy is a beautiful outspoken woman who speaks her mind most of the time and even times when she shouldn't. I loved her character and at times she had me laughing out loud. At first I thought no way is she's right for Rourke, especially with the way she feels about the club. Knowing how she feels and Rourke being who he is he thinks he's not good enough for Macy. One things for sure though, when they argue they tend to take things too far and sometimes things get said that can't be taken back. At times the suspense gets pretty intense. When Macy gets into a situation that endangers her life my heart was pounding and I couldn't read fast enough. Even though Rourke is big and bad I am in love with his character. The way he is with his sister Trini and his niece Emme is so heartwarming. And when he's with Macy he's a different person. When their characters start to change you can almost feel the love coming off the pages. And when they're in bed together they set the sheets on fire. This book is exciting but it takes alittle too long for things to start to come together. The ending is perfect and I can't wait to get to the next book to find out what's next. I highly recommend this series to everyone.

Nowhere near as enjoyable as the first book 🤷‍♀️

As much as I wants to like this couple, it took me right up to 85% to actually see any sort of relationship or respect between Macy and Rourke. I live a good MC book, and whole heartedly expect the guts to be alpha and a little rough around the edges but Rourke just didn’t make sense, and Macy was a hot mess. They were terrible communicators and there was nothing endearing about their story. Rourke got points for his love and dedication to his sister and niece.
As much as Trex in book one was rough and alpha his softer side was very evident when it came to Chey, that was missing from this story and this was a couple that really needed that softer, understanding side.
The authors writing was good and I can see some great storylines to come. Hoping Trini gets her own book, she is a character that deserves a HEA, and I can’t wait to find out more about Saint, he really intrigues me!

All the good MC dynamics and brotherhood/friendship still present in this book. Excited for the gang to move to Ghostown and the set up of Saint and Bailey. I wonder if the helpful Ella will reapper at some point.

Some might not agree but Roake is definitely a better ML than Trax in my books. Trax did a lot of talking but couldn't follow through. If memory serves me, Roake has terrible communication but he never let Macy down in the same way Trax did.

I feel like although neither Roake or Macy were particularly endearing, they were more realistic. I can totally believe that people as stubborn and as bad at communication as they were truly exist. They go nuclear when they fight and take everyone else with it. Also not something I haven't seen before in real life.

I don't always have to like the couple and want to be friends with them in order to like a book. This was one of those cases.

It’s a good read and Romance

Okay in this second book we get Rourke’s story with the BFF of Cheyene, who is with Trax now. Macy was funny in book one and really boosted the story with humor and relief. Macy is strong and beautiful but struggling with self esteem. She likes Rourke but he is the silent alpha type. He doesn’t make a move until he is in a situation where he is forced to reveal that he is indeed interested in Macy. This whole situation was frustrating to me because no one spoke up and things happened that really should not have. Trax, Gage, and Saint are helpful brothers to Rourke. Thank goodness because Rourke is really brand new to serious relationships and how does one not stick their foot in their mouth after a woman had been attacked. I don’t want to spoil any more. . . Read On!!

Roarke and Macy

Macy was a little leery of the club at the beginning, and especially worried about her best friend Cheyenne, but after seeing her happy with she was willing to give the club a chance. She was attracted to Roarke immediately and he with her, but the relationship was a little rocky at times, but when she went on a date with a co-worker and he drugged her drink and she was slowly getting dizzy and disoriented, and a bystander in the bathroom helped her, Roarke decided quickly to move her in with him to protect her better. Macy adores his sister, Trini and niece Emme and she talked her into moving with them to Ghosttown where all of their new businesses will be set up. Happy reading.

Ghosttown Riders MC series thunders down the road with Macy and Rourke's book. We met them in the previous book. Macy, Cheyenne's best friend, and Rourke, Trax's closest friend and brother, are attracted to each and that's just the first chapter. This journey takes us through Rourke's rough existence and his need to protect his family and club. Macy is a lot of fun and probably could wear the crown of "Queen of Bad Decisions" or at least, decisions that aren't necessarily thought out well. Nonetheless, I loved their story and the introduction of Trini and Emme. Who are they? Hey! You need to read the book!! You won't regret it.

CW: heroine is roofied but not assaulted

Rourke & Macy. Macy is Chey's best friend from book 1. This starts out with a threesome organized by Gage with himself, Macy & Rourke. I liked the bold move by the author here. Probably a lot of romance readers don’t like this set up, seeing the heroine with another character, and Gage is the hero of another book. But-would these 2 with their preconceived notions about each other and lack of communication skills have gotten together without this scene? Maybe, but I appreciated the unusual beginning.

Hard parts were they both over react at different points and say TERRIBLE things to each other. They have a lot to come back from.

Not sure (spoiler alert)

The first book was great and I was actually excited to read the next book. Honestly, the whole dynamics between the h and H was confusing and borderline abusive at times. Personally I wouldn't put up with the rude (being polite here) verbal dialogues. I also expected h to have a bit more of a backbone but she often came up with excuses for the H actions and words that reminded me of how an abused woman makes excuses for her partner. I'll give the next book a try. Hope it will be better

The Hero

3.5 to 4 stars. Wow all I can say is exhausting lol, Macy and Rourke both have insecurities. Macy with no filter and Rourke just doesn't know how to communicate and both head strong so it was annoying at times...drama, drama. I still can't stand Kase the president he is a a-hole even his brother and dad agree. But I feel you need to read this to understand how they are planning on another town to move to, going legit and introducing new characters. From some of the other reviews not my favorite but I will go on to the next book and heck it's free with KU.

The h could be a bitch. Both the mc fought ugly with insults. They get angry and lash out. I did like that the h’s friend straight up told her that she was in the wrong and being an asshole.
The mc have a 3way the first time they are together because they didn’t know how the other felt. They sleep together like twice and the h goes ape shit when she sees another woman sitting beside H too close. She yelled at him in front of the entire mc and said some nasty things. She then goes on a date and gets roofied. They argue more. Fall in love.

2 1/2 stars. I don’t feel ANYONE really liked anyone else in this—at least not believably. Not even the main couple. There was so much arguing and some actions of remorse and reckoning, but not enough for me to feel this couple—our group—will last. I definitely liked the h in the first story better. Not much happened either throughout the book. A little action, but mostly fighting. I do want to read Saint’s book, so I may jump to his

loved it!

Rourke and Macy are the main characters of this 2nd book of the Ghosttown Riders MC series. Absolutely outstanding. Being that Rourke is the epitome of an Alphamale, you’ll want to yell at him a few time throughout the book but he more than makes up for it. Fantastic read! My only regret is that we didn’t get a front row seat to Macy bringing Rourke home for Sunday dinner with mom.

Broody silent alphas

Rourke is a man who grew up rough and protects his family with everything he has. When he meets Cheyenne’s best friend and roommate he sees something but her words make him and others angry. Fast forward and he and Macey find their way to each other. With all the ups and downs and anger can they figure out how two stubborn people are really meant for each other.

Rourke and Macy

Another great book in the series. The MC is still on track with getting everything on track for the move, but as you might know BFF’s stick together. And Chey and Macy are that along with roommates and Enforcer Rourke has met his match. Find out how these two will overcome all and grow together. Short review, leaves you hanging, so grab your copy and enjoy.

This book was mostly just the couple fighting…and he should have groveled to her for the way he spoke to her most of the time. There’s a good storyline in the background with the Club relocating so I hope future books focus more on that instead of all the “filler” bedrooms scenes and arguing. Great potential is there so we shall see how the series progresses.

I'm thrilled Macy found a guy who loved her in spite of her being a hot mess. She was a loyal and kind hearted person who had been hurt a time or two. It took the right man to see it and appreciate it. Rourke is my HERO.

I enjoy the fearlessness of this authors writing. I enjoy the chances she takes and can't wait to read more.

What a hot addictive mess. So much happening and so much drama but I couldn’t stop… there’s just something about this MC series that has me hooked
The MC Pres is just a jackass… but here we have a H who is beyond broody, cannot communicate and rarely talks but when he does you can expect him to spew poison especially to the h
The h is a likable nut job and it just works 🤷🏼‍♀️

God, I absolutely hated the parts where they upset each other. But thats why I also loved it because it was supposed to piss me off, you know?

This was good. Their love for each other didn't seem too authentic to me until maybe the last couple chapters but I definitely enjoyed the read.
