10,000 years ago, Antarctica was not the frozen continent we know.
And 6,000 years ago, they were visited by the Minoan civilization.
What they found there was incredible: they weren't alone.
From the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Harvey Bennett Thrillers series, the tenth book in the epic Harvey Bennett saga continues.
When a Russian exploratory and science team discovers something miraculous on the coast of Antarctica, they race to tell their government about the strange findings.
Instead of rejoicing, they are silenced.
Halfway across the world, Dr. Sarah Lindgren is tapped to help a US-based committee determine the answer to a puzzling anomaly.
She engages the help of her boyfriend, Gareth Red, and his group, the Civilian Special Operations.
It seems something is happening on the world's southernmost continent, and the committee needs boots on the ground to find out what it is.
But before they leave, the CSO group finds out something else:

This story began recounting a visitation by the Minoans to what was Antarctica. The next section has the Russian doing scientific experiments on the ice core. They stumbled across a ship frozen in ice. The next phase of the story has the Army requesting assistance by the CSO team. The Russians attempt to prevent the COS team, but are unsuccessful in stopping them.
As they are making their way to Antarctica, their plane is shot down and are captured by the Russians. While they were under captivity they link up with the survey team that has also been brought to the same location. After being interrogated, they develop a plan to leave this place. After they have managed to evade the Russian Guars, they are ultimately captured with several of the CSO team and the Russian Scientist being killed.
They discover that within a short time, there will be an incident which might cost them all their lives. To find out why the Russians were so interested in keeping the Americans away, who the individuals killed by the Russians were, what Ben's plan was and who will become the newest member on the CSO team, then you must read this book. It is definitely worthwhile.
The Minoan Manifest is the 10th Harvey Bennett thriller in the series and if you liked any of the others, you'll probably like this one the same. It's a new adventure with some new faces mixed in, but largely more of the same from the CSO (Civilian Special Operations) team and their over-the-top adventures. Since I've loved the previous books, more of the same is a great thing!
The characters are great, as always, in this series. I don't feel like there were any radical changes to the core group, but there are some new faces and I very much liked these characters. The story is great with the usual feeling of wondering how much of the story is fact and how much has been created for the fiction side. Harvey's adventures always leave me feeling like I've just enjoyed an action movie, but learned a little something along the way.
This book sets things up nicely to continue the story, without a giant cliffhanger at the end. I'll gladly take 10 more Harvey Bennett adventures!
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts and opinions are my own.
I am glad to see the whole team back together and I was glad to return to Antarctica. Their previous trip is one of my favorite Harvey Bennett books. This one was not paced like I expected. There was action and conflict with bad guys, but not as much as I expected. There was a touch of rewriting history in here, but again not as much as I expected. There is a certain pace I have come to expect with this series and this book didn't follow that pace. There were some things I expected and they happened. Other things I expected and they didn't happen. I guess I'm glad to see that after 10 books plus the prequels and others, I can still be surprised by what Ben and his crew get into. By the end of the novel, I was not ready for it to end. I have got to see what comes next!
The story is set in Antarctica, where Russian research scientists make a staggering discovery with links to Ancient Greece. The CSO team - Ben Harvey, friend Reggie, Dr Sarah Lindgren, Ben's girlfriend Julie, Gator and Freddie - are summoned by their boss for a new mission... what are their orders and what happens when the Americans and Russians meet? Can the team all escape death and complete the operation, without causing international conflict?
A mysterious underground city, a battle for survival, danger on every side, changing loyalties and how the CSO team's fate and that of the world will be decided. Get Nicholas Thacker's Minoan Manifest today, to find out the answers!
Having been along for the entire Harvey Bennett thrill ride, I’m a bit biased but likely an “expert.” Thacker’s writing in this series is always on par with my preferred style. In the words of the song, a little less conversation a little more action please. The rating on this one is 4 stars. The writing was awesome as always and character development is a strong suit as well. The plot though brisk with some usual twists and turns was a little off. The usual tie in to the initial chapter was weak and the lack of a concrete conclusion left me feeling like a 70s TV show with a “To Be Continued” at the end.
This latest Harvey Bennett adventure (#10) got off to an action filled start, once we got a preview of what may be lurking. The CSO team never disappoint and I enjoyed being reintroduced to them. This book was packed with interesting tidbits of ancient history – a subject I enjoy. Always appreciate books where I learn something new. The book was well written, obviously featuring characters from the other books in the series, but also developing story lines for new characters particular to this story. Fast paced breathless action from the start. I think the ending could have been stretched out with more detail, it seemed a little rushed on all threads, but maybe that’s to spark a new direction for future books. Looking forward to the next adventure!
Another mix of ancient theories and their modern interpretations see CSO go to Antarctica to investigate what is happening down there. With a small squad of military men, they crash onto the ice only to find themselves taken underground to a Minoan city by the Russians. Action packed adventure, though Harvey seems to be reconsidering his mortality several times during this tale. The story culminates with a new CSO member and again the suggestion of more to come...
I have read all of the books in this series up to The Minoan Project and truly enjoyed them finding them exciting and difficult to put down. This was the first one that felt difficult to believe with not enough "meat" to the story to make it believable. However I was very frustrated throughout the book due to the MANY typos that were in some places so bad as to be impossible to decipher. If this had occurred in the first book I read I would have never read another book by the author and returned the book immediately.
I always read the Harvey Bennett books so fast. I love the characters and how they interact. The stories just grab me and I can't stop til I find out what happens. Well written and fun. Love this setting in Antarctica too. It is so mysterious and this Minoan idea is intriguing. A great escape.
I’ve read every book Nick has written and love them all. This would be a 5 star without the amount of typos etc I found. I have sent Nick the corrections on kindle notes so I think he will correct them soon. Otherwise it’s a non stop thriller that leave room for another book in the series. I loved the story, characters and new addition to the team.
I’m hooked on the series and have read all the stories. This is a fast action thriller that takes place in Antarctica. I enjoy reading about Ben, Julie, Gareth (Reggie) and Sarah. Interesting historical tidbits interspersed in the story. Welcome to the new member of the unit. I look forward to book 11 in the series.
Nick you have done it again! Really enjoyed reading this book. Found it fascinating delving into the long past with its events. Plenty of action in a variety of instances throughout the book. I really can’t wait for the nextHarv ‘Ben’ Bennett book! Please keep writing them!
An exciting story out of Antarctica - plenty of characters (good and bad and some with dubious intents) makes for a wondreful read. Lots of action for the CSO gang (Harvey, Julie, Reggie, Sarah) who keep getting the worst of luck in their projects assigned to them - if anything can go wrong, it usually does.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. The reason for only 3 stars though is because although I am used to typos, there were an overabundance. Whole words were missing and it just seemed like no one paid attention to proofing. Overall I enjoy the series and I plan on reading the next one.
I usually love Nick Thacker's books but I have to say this one was boring. It was not action packed like his other books. All the characters did was run around this base. Running from some Russians. Sorry Nick this one was not for me. I've read just about everything you have written and I do love your books but this one did not excite me.
A good Harvey Bennett thriller packed with action, adventure and numerous twists and turns. The scientific theories, detail and plot are a bit too in your face. It needed a little more Havey and Julie, and a little less theories and formulas!
Ben and his team are once again involved in Antarctica along with Russian bad guys. Full of adventure and disaster, this book provides further excitement and danger. Well written with great characters
I got hooked on page 8 of this adventure and I had a hard time putting it down. The ending has left us hanging as one of the characters has been let off the hook. This is an typical Harvey and Ben adventure with a new member of the group.
Continuing the Bennett series and introducing a new player, this book is another thrilling read that is hard to put down. It leaves you eager for the next chapter of this series.
Love this book everything in it is possible Freddy is going to make a good addition. You lift this book open ended so I think the next book will pick up where this o my e left off.Keep writing I read all of your books thank you
This was one of the more action packed Harvey Bennett novels. Even though it is yet another novel about strange goings on in Antarctica, it still made for an interesting story. Thacker always has just enough science and just enough myth to keep me reading.
Soooo much action! Love that we get to see Reggie & Sarah along with Ben & Julie. Their lives are so intertwined and their "got your back" attitude is strongly challenged in this next book in the series!
The adventures these couples embark upon, often unwillingly, are incredible.
Really different thriller, but excellent nonetheless
This Harvey Bennett thriller starts with a bang and does not let up till the end. Well thought out and truly exciting. I gave it 4 stars for the numerous grammar and spelling errors. These stories need to be edited better.
Oh what a tangled mess governments make trying to outdo each other. One for a weapon of sorts and one as a safeguard. Trouble is anyone can be collateral damage and it doesn't matter if your Army personnel or a secret special ops. Great job. Thank you.
Loved the book, enjoy all Harvey Bennett stories. But the rudimentary spelling and grammar errors was off putting. Sentences were ended abruptly with no conclusion or segway to the next ,or even as you were really into. Then..... See what I mean! Ugh!
Entertaining story with good characters. Knocked off a star for quantity of proofing errors - wrong tenses, missing words, duplicate words, misused words, They interrupt the spell that a good book weaves.
