Dr. Judith Lucci is an Amazon bestselling author who writes what she knows. She is the author of the Alex Destephano Medical Thriller Series and the soon to be released Michaela McPherson, Private Eye, a series centered on a retired homicide detective from Richmond, Virginia who really can’t retire.

“Before I wrote fiction, I was an academic writer who published research, theoretical works, text books and just about anything a nurse or college professor needed to publish to survive. The differences in academic writing and writing fiction are dramatic. Writing what I know propels me to pull from my clinical experiences, some good, some not and use popular fiction as a means to teach and advocate for others. My books have three purposes, to engage the reader, to entertain them and to educate about healthcare and perhaps, the darker side of hospital life.

I am a nurse and hold graduate and doctoral degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia. I have always been a reader and a writer and I love it. I am a member of the Virginia Writers Club, The Shenandoah Valley Writers and Sisters in Crime.

When I’m not writing I am probably teaching, paining on silk as I am a multi-media artist or playing with my many dogs. Please feel free to contact me at judithlucciwrites@gmail.com. I am excited about meeting you!

I have read three of these books already!

Judith Lucci: Death on the Slopes
Judith Lucci is one great author-I have read a couple of her books and loved them all. I was able to read this in one sitting-the characters come alive. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing!!

Anna Celeste Burke: A Tango Before Dying
I read this a while ago and loved it!! But then I love all of Anna Celeste Burke's novels and I am pretty sure I have read and reviewed all of them.

Dianne Harman: Murder in Cottonwood Springs
Another of my absolute favorite authors. I don't think I have missed any of her books in any of the series. Yes, I read and reviewed this one a while back also. Her recipes at the back of each will make you drool!

I have read books by several of the others authors who contributed their works for this compilation and loved them as well.

But do you know what I love most--the proceeds go to help the Australian wildlife!!

This is a fantastic cozy anthology. I am reviewing a few of the books in the collection.

Sam Cheever: Bayou Bubba . Bayou Bubba is a really fun story. Felicity Chance employs private investigator Cal Amity (ha ha ) to find her missing father. The trip leads them to the bayou. This was a really fun story.
I very much liked the characters and the mystery was a fun one. This is the start of a great series.
I cannot wait for the next one

Summer Prescott: Spellstruck - I was so excited to find out that Summer Prescott had written her first cozy paranormal book. This debut paranormal is so well written, I really hope it becomes a series.
I absolutely love Babs Baldwin who is a self proclaimed decorating diva. She has a interior decorating business. The mystery here is so well thought out and fun ! Add to that a haunted house, a bakery owned by a medium, tea leaves and mystery is abound! The story if intriguing and humorous and multi-dimensional.
I expect nothing less from Summer Prescott who has an extreme talent to cross genre's like no other other I have read.

Tonya Kappes: Stamped Out - Bernadette (Bernie) is my new favorite character! I love that the author has written a middle aged character that for me is so relatable. It is clear to this reader that the author has done her research about the postal service and that authenticity adds to the character development and story line.
The setting of Sugar Creek Gap is one where I want to live with such a great community of people supporting one another. The mystery is so well written with so many twists and turns I had my sleuthing cap on but I wasn't even close to guessing who the murder was. I love Bernie's rescue kitty Rowena. The author writes animals into her stories seamlessly yet so integrated that they truly are one of the characters.
And let me just say that the ending BLEW me away. The characters are so well developed and fleshed out with a well written mystery.

This is a collection of twelve mystery stories by different authors. And as a quick note of clarification, the stories are not set in Australia as you might guess from the title of the collection. The proceeds are going to help Australia after the big wildfire. Enough on that.

Twelve stories by twelve authors sets you up for one of my favorite types of anthologies. This collection gave me a chance to explore new authors while also revisiting some old favorites. Each of the stories was well written and highly enjoyable with a mix of mystery and humor that just made things fun. I particularly enjoyed Bayou Bubba by Sam Cheever for its bizarre humor, but there was not a dud in the bunch.

Highly recommended.

Bayou Bubba: Felicity Chance is looking for her dad. Cal Amity is the PI she hired to help her. Yup, those are their names, which is just the start of this hilarious book! Felicity’s search with help of local members of the Bent Society (BS for short), Irene and Dorrie Tae, who know everything that is going on in Bent, Alabama, just cracked me up! The ride with them in their truck had me snort laughing, which to me, is a sign of a great book! Ms. Cheever’s done it again with the start of this new series.

Felicity hires PI Cal Amity to track down her missing father. He tracks him down in Alabama. Felicity goes with Cal to Alabama against his wishes. Once they get there they must solve the mystery surrounding Felicity's dad. This was a good read even if it was a short read. Nothing was lacking, there was murder, mystery, and just the right amount of humor. Can't wait to hear more about Felicity and Cal.

This is my review for Bayou Bubba. Such a fun book to read. The names of the main characters are hilarious. Felicity Chance is rich and has a purse fetish, PI Cal Amity has been hired by Felicity to find her father. This leads them to the bayou in Alabama, where a body has been found. You will have to read to find out if it is her dad, along the way you will find great food, mystery, laughs, and maybe a hint of a future romance.

Summer Snoops Down Under is entirely a great collection, however, I will be focusing on Bayou Bubba by Sam Cheever.
Felicity Chance hires PI Cal Amity to find her father, only to be told he’s in the morgue. They travel to Bent, Alabama to investigate what happened. Sam Cheever has created great characters in Bayou Bubba and I laughed out loud throughout the story. I especially loved the banter between Irene and Dorrie Tae.

A wonderful collection of cozy mysteries from fairly well-known authors, quite a few of them series starters.
I was glad to find some of my favorite authors represented in this anthology, and enjoyed to re-read their stories.
As a collection - if you are not familiar with some of the authors yet, this is a great opportunity to try and see if you like their writing style and their characters.
As it is, this anthology is promising a good time reading, entertainment and fun.

Great set of books

This set of books benefits the animals in Australia injured in the wildfire. Really liked the set. I wish they would have put the first book in the set in this set because as I was ready I felt like I had missed something....and I had the first books in each of the series

Really good stories and it makes you want to read more by these authors.

A really great collection of stories by these authors. You think you know where the authors are going with the story then as usual they switch things throwing a curve in the story. Really enjoyable reading the stories.

Wonderful Cozy Mystery Anthology
This is a great collection of cozy mysteries whose profits are all donated to support the land and animals affected by the horrific Australia wildfires. Twelve very good authors have each contributed a story. Some of the stories fit into a series, some don't, but all stand alone. I have read a couple of them already and just loved them. I have read other stories by all of these authors and they are all top drawer! This is a great deal for a great cause. You will love these stories. I bought this book and this is my honest opinion.
