I gathered up my nerve to approach Stefan -- only for him to reject me. That was months ago, but I still can't stop thinking about him, no matter how hard I try to get over it. Unfortunately, fate keeps throwing us together. Stefan has protected me from a disastrous date gone wrong, he's fixed my car, and he looks at me with so much heat I'm afraid I'll burn up from the inside...
I don't understand him.
Heated looks mean nothing without action, and Stefan still won't make a move -- until a strange man comes to town, asking questions about my past. I’m no one special, but Stefan’s determined to protect me. And since keeping me close involves lots of kisses, I’m not complaining.
When a family secret shakes me to my core, I’m not sure if I’ll be strong enough to move forward with Stefan -- especially when he’s been keeping a fire breathing secret of his own. Can I really be the mate of a dragon?
While "Her Dragon Lover" can definitely be read as a stand alone novel, this hot paranormal dragon shifter romance is best read as third in its series!
Roxie Ray is a group of writer friends who love to write Sci Fi Alien Romance and Paranormal Romance. They love to talk, read and write this lovely genre. They hope you love their books and strive to make sure you have a steamy, wonderful experience!
I had a hard time with this one which is too bad because I liked Stefan's character. But there's no so many inconsistencies from this book and previous books in the series, or even within the same books.
Examples 1. In the first book it's clear you have to ask the alpha before you show yourself as a dragon to your mate. But this never happens again. 2. Stefan is described as an Alpha in the other books and even the beginning of this one. And then he's just a beta by the end. Took me right out of the fight scene when he talks about how he doesn't have any alpha strength. 3. Dragon's can smell pregnancy less than a week in but no one in Maverick's family smelled it on Ava before they disappeared.
Those are some of the bigger ones, there's small ones and editing issues but I can usually ignore those for a good story however they got so glaring they took me out of the story.
I have learned I appreciate these books for a fast and sweet read, the characters are mostly fun and the premise of the stories is cute.
However these are made to be ULTRA safe. Like, ask for consent 100 times, correct yourself even in your inner monologue about how respectful to be of sexual boundaries and safety, graphic explanation of safe sex practice, almost clinical sexual description, never discussing past sexual encounters of the hero, etc. It reads a little like an after school special.
And that has a place and I'm sure a big market. Obviously there are people who love it. I find it fun for a few books but eventually I go back to dark romance because it starts to feel like I'm being educated instead of reading fantasy. But that's just personal preference.
Okay, let me start by saying this is the first book I’ve listened to or read by this author. Yes, given the title, I figured this would be more of a romance story (ie lots of sexual content), but given I’d been avoiding romance (because I find it boring the majority of the time), I decided to go ahead with this one especially since it involved dragons. On that note, I would have assumed this story/series was geared toward women, specifically straight women; that’s what most romances like this seem to be. It’s like the writer takes a basic, every-day female that female readers can relate to who meets her dream man and they fall in love and live happily ever after (hence why I said straight women). I felt like there was too much focus on Harley and what pleasure tool she was going to use and how she was going to use it and how it was going to make her feel, blah blah blah. Maybe the story was for gay women and men? Either way, I don’t care about any of that. Are the numbers high for straight women that want to read about other straight women masturbating? One can assume if she’s masturbating, she’ll be feeling fine. LOL Don’t straight women want to know more regarding the male character’s side? Maybe that’s just me. Maybe that’s just all the previous romance/sex stories I’ve read up until this book. Who knows?!
Speaking about masturbation, did anyone else question Harley’s thinking when she chose the dildo AND bullet as opposed to the vibrator because she deemed the two tools essentially easier to use, less thinking had to go into the process? I also found it questionable that Harley, an almost thirty-year-old woman, a virgin, and someone shy in the sex department, would have no problem masturbating in front of a man that she hasn’t even had sex with, up to that point in the story.
Speaking about sex, what was with the clinical description when Stefan was about to go down on Harley? Looking at the reviews, of course, I’m the only one that seems to have questioned the sexual side of this story. I mean Stefan wasn’t a doctor yet when he’s checking Harley’s lady bites out, there’s mention of vagina, vulva, lips, hood, clitoris, vaginal walls, etc. (Yes, I took notes.) Get what I mean though? It just seemed weird to me. When it comes to words that make me cringe, “moist” isn’t one of them, but “pussy” is. Maybe cringe isn’t the right word, I just can’t stand “pussy!” I would like to create a survey to find out how many women have positive emotions when a significant other uses that word toward them.
Overall, I wasn’t missing anything had I not listened to this story. It just did nothing, in my opinion. I felt the majority was slow going and boring; nothing was happening, then it’s just sex. I know lots of people are all for the sex scenes, but they come across as being the same to me. Like the authors just use the same descriptions, for example, a female will say she thinks the male is too big for her, or the male comments how tight the female is, etc. It’s all repetitive and boring.
I’m probably a small percentage here, but I wasn’t a fan of the fact the narrator seemed to talk slower during intimate times. “Stefan pulls back Harley’s hood revealing her clitoris.” LOL, no thanks. I think she did a pretty good job overall when it came to her character voices. There were a couple of times when the narrator repeated parts of the story. For example, when Harley and Stefan are in the sandwich shop and she says, “You’re very lucky you have your grandmother.” Then again when Harley is talking to her grandmother: “Nana, you know more than I ever give you credit for.”
Questions/Comments:
There’s a part near the beginning when Harley talks about having dinner at the watering hole with Micah. As far as I know, a watering hole is a bar. Yet, after eating, Micha suggests they go somewhere for drinks…to the local bar. I just thought that was kind of strange.
Harley goes to breakfast with Tyler and gets red flags. She previously told Tyler that she had a later shift at work. But even leaving early, because of the weirdness emanating around Tyler, she’s like just barely making it to work.
I found it funny that Harley tells Stefan she’s not a fan of public displays of affection, yet when they’re in the sandwich shop and after Stefan tells her everyone’s watching them, she’s the one to repeatedly go in for the kiss.
I didn’t make mention of when this next comment took place, but it involves Harley when she is upset and crying, yet the author has her crying “crocodile tears.” Crocodile tears mean she’s fake crying which Harley isn’t doing.
Why did Harley come across as being younger, mentally, when compared to Stefan? Was I the only one that felt that way? She seemed very immature for her age, while Stefan was the adult in the relationship. Her constantly thinking someone or something was “hot!” was annoying. I couldn’t help but think of Paris Hilton.
When Harley’s grandmother tells her about her father and their lineage, I couldn’t figure out why Harley would assume she was lying, not joking around, to her? I mean if her grandmother typically lied, that would be one thing. Yes, it was hard to believe but still.
When Harley meets and pets Eros and/or mentally talks to him, her getting turned on… yeah. I’ll just leave it at that.
Stefan tells Harley that his father claimed his mother when he was sixteen, Stefan that is. Why would his father have waited so long?
Anyway, after he tells his life story to Harley, they start making out. Harley tells him to go faster. Faster? They’re kissing.
Harley’s father calls her and tells her to come to his location but don’t let anyone follow her. Okay. So why didn’t she tell anyone what was going on? He never said anything about not telling them, just making sure she isn’t followed.
The fact that Stefan’s uncle/clan was looking for him and just so happens to find him the same time Harley connects with her father/meets her sister, with her father after Stefan’s bounty, seemed too coincidental for my liking.
I received a free audiobook version in exchange for an honest review.

The story revolves around alpha dragons who are discovering their fated mates, which have traditionally been human females. However, humans are unaware of the dragons' existence and do not feel a bond with them. Thus, dragons can only reveal themselves if they are certain that the woman is the one their fate intended for them.
As these women learn about the new world around them and what it means to be fated, the narrative becomes rich with tension. Each woman also grapples with her own personal challenges, and the dragons will do anything to keep their mates safe.
Emotions run high as the characters confront their circumstances, navigating conflicting feelings of fear, hope, and longing. The presence of strong alpha males adds another layer of complexity to the story.
Amid these challenges, there is an undercurrent of playful interactions. Overall, the narrative is a captivating blend of love, action, and adventure that keeps readers engaged from beginning to end.
I stumbled upon this series via a recommendation from another author I enjoy. I loved the first book but felt there were a few inconsistencies between that and the second book.
It was annoying but not enough to have me go back and reread the first. However I'm finding the same thing happening with book 3. Stefan was described as a baby alpha when originally introduced then suddenly he's a beta? I'm assuming this is due to Maverick being a stronger Alpha but that doesn't tie since in the first book it's said if Maddox is an alpha he'd eventually have to leave Black Claw? There are a few smaller things that also change as though the author is losing track of her worlds rules.
I like the series enough to try book 4 but I'm already beginning to lose interest. It's hard to invest in a world where the rules change from one book to the next with no explanation.
I love shifter stories and I really enjoyed this captivating and interesting story. The story-line and characters are interesting and I like them. I also enjoyed the suspense, intrigue and twists and turns in this story. I look forward to reading more from this writer.

First, let me just say I've enjoyed this Black Claw Dragon book series.
However, I'm greatly disappointed with all the story inconsistency in this book. My goodness Roxie, who did you put in charge to proof read this book? Because they did a horrible job of it. Seriously though I think you should do a rewrite and have some serious editing done to polish this up a bit.
These errors diminished the full entertainment value of this series. I'm kinda of wary about going to the next book of this series that I will find myself in the same predicament again being pushed to aggravation of trying to figure out what you meant to say or trying to read between the lines... Come on!
3🌟 so many plot holes and inconsistencies between books but I can’t stop.
I also read that Roxie Ray is an author collective and now I just picture a group of gal pals getting wine drunk and writing dragon fantasies on a Thursday night, and honestly I love that for them.
This has been my least favourite book of the series, however it was still a great read. I found for a dragon shifter book, we didn’t really get to see Stefan’s much, and that was a bit disappointing. But Harley and Stefan have a great story, and the Kingston clan never disappoints. I’m new to Roxie Ray, but She’s slowly becoming a favourite!
Knock.. Knock your dream woman has arrived... by and1515
She'd been blessed that her grandmother was still living Harley's life was so predictable and mundane. An Micah the poor unfortunate guy she'd been seeing didn't add any pizzazz. Okay she could deal with one drink then Harley would let him know she was tired and would like to go home. Then in a few days she'd send him a polite text breaking things off with him. Harley noticed he was watching her again but he'd made it very clear she'd been placed in the I'm not interested category. But after another drink she was stick a fork in me done and ready to go home. She should have seen it coming like a big blinking neon sign I'm a creep. However Micah didn't take her politely declining his invitation to go home with him very well in fact he couldn't contain himself venomous words spewed forth. Stefan hated that she seemed to having a good time with that idiot until he noticed she wasn't anymore. He wanted Harley out of harms way so he gave her his keys sending her to wait in his truck for him. Harley should have called in sick but she most definitely didn't need any of this crap she'd finally seen him for the rotten creep he truly was and good riddance. Stefan just couldn't seem to help himself when ever he was anywhere near Harley he did something that didn't shine the best light on him. Yes she wanted all the things every other girl dreamed of having but so far the cards haven't been in her favor. It start with him simply give her his phone number and now several dates later and Stefan couldn't believe she'd invited him to be so close to her. Never in his wildest dreams did he ever envision they'd be watching each other's most erotic moments together. She knew something wasn't right when her grandmother's nurse called but Harley had a sinking feeling as she hurried home it never hurts to be prepared just in case. But nothing prepared her for the scene she walked into leaving her speechless. Apparently she'd been kept in the dark her whole life and those's she considered her friends probably knew and never said anything. No none of this made any sense to her and Harley didn't think she simply walked out the door and made a beeline right towards Stefan's. He was now racing back to his place after being summoned first by Maverick and his family to the phone call he just received from Harley. My family has been telling me some really weird stories about mythical creatures clearly there crazy. Quietly she listened as he confirmed everything and never once denied anything but right now she just needed her space to think. Harley didn't want to stop seeing Stefan she couldn't stay away he felt so right when ever they were together. However Stefan knew she deserved the truth about himself he'd thought for sure she'd run screaming from him but no Harley surprised him. She had never anticipated the call that would shake her up so badly and have her running towards an uncertain danger to save someone she barely knew. Stefan had always dreaded this moment but he needed to shake the shackles of his past before anyone else go hurt because he had a bright future with the woman of his dreams.

I don't really understand why this book has so many 5 star reviews. The story is alright (which is why it has 2 stars instead of 1 star) but it has a lot of major issues.
First, this book needs an editor and some proof readers. There are some major inconsistencies within the book and even more when you consider the series as a whole. I won't get into all of them but they are major.
Second, the descriptions used for some things are cringy. When they are being intimate it is just weird. I don't need a vocabulary lesson and some of it, like the hymen; I wish more authors, and people in general, would get that right.
There are other problems but I won't bore you anymore. If you decide to read it I really hope that you enjoy it more than I did.

Harley has a past she never knew. And unfortunately it comes calling for her. She never knew her father and she rarely heard about him. When a half sister shows up looking just like Harley she is shocked. Her Dad wanted to meet her. However, Richard had gotten himself banished by the Kingston's. He tried calling. He tried using a private investigator. All that did was get her to alert the Kingston's so they could investigate who it was & what was going on. Lastly her father called & said he had her sister and if she didn't show up soon he would harm her. Of course, once she got there she found out her sister had betrayed her. Stefen has a past that is dark too. For some reason he thinks it's so bad that he only tells one person. Given the circumstances of what happened to him if I were in his shoes I would have done the same. Physical abuse against a parent is nothing to be ashamed of. Lots of people have stories like that. His emotions would have been heightened because it was close to his first shift. Plus if his uncle would have taken action like he was supposed to do it would have never happened. This is why Stefen has been on the run & he doesn't feel like he's good enough for Harley.
When the guys at the shop berate him for responding harshly to Harley who can't help but be drawn to him, he feels like he needs to apologize. And he needs to make it good because he can't stand to treat his mate that way. Next thing you know he is asking her out on a date. Which he almost screws up. He stops her from leaving & she kisses him. Later he asks to kiss her goodnight. Turns out Harley is 28 & a virgin. Immediately that sends red flags to the Kingston's & Stefen. It turns out she is a descendant of dragons. Her grandfather & father were both dragons. It explains why she looks 18. Despite all the dangers the love story is sweet. You will be surprised how curious & ready Harley is to experience things with Stefen. The ending is a bit of a shock for the couple. And definitely for Jury because he finds his fated mate but he doesn't even like her. And unfortunately, she hears his rant. She is headed back home & he will have a rough road ahead if he expects to win over his mate.
I’ve become such a fan of this series! Even though each new installment focuses on a new couple, the author does a wonderful job continuing the overall storyline and background… as we learn more about dragon shifters, their fated mates, and the town’s people of Black Claw. Stefan and Harley’s story is sweet, but not without a rocky start. Harley has this instinctive attraction towards Stefan and can’t understand why he hates her. Stefan immediately knows she’s his fated mate, but because of his past, he does everything he can to avoid bringing that upon her. But when trouble looms around Harley, Stefan stops running as both their pasts tangled together and Harley needs Stefan’s protection more than ever. The revealing of Stefan’s dragon, Eros, was the best of them yet—totally loved Harley’s reaction! Makes me want a dragon of my own! Throughout the series, the familial aspect of these characters and the small town feel of the storyline create a heartwarming tone that keeps me invested in this amazing world.
Listened on audio: I also enjoy how the narrator changes with each new couple, and Bitsy Hill did a fabulous performance on this one. Her voice was a perfect match for Harley... giving her fiery spunk and courage, and yet a softness to Harley’s vulnerability and inexperienced side.
Okay so while I was reading about these books Roxie Ray is not one one author but a group of writer friends who all write stories together. So that's why there's a lot inconsistencies. While I loved books 1 & 2 I'm find 3 is completely ridiculous. The FMC is a redhead Nurse named Harley but it's like they gave her the personality of a ditsy blonde and she refers to her private part as "Her Fancy Garden" Like WTF? And still a virgin being a redhead in a small town at 29? There's no way there's nothing to do but have sex in a small town. It's like none of them got together to check for consistencies in their stories before publishing it. And why are books 3 - 5 stand alone books when they're not really because you have to at least read book 1 to know the characters. I don't know who wrote books 1 & 2 but I wish that person wrote them all. Books 4 & 5 don't really seem promising either, Jury's mate is half around the world and he's convinced she is fated mate? He's not even dating anyone online while he's a tracker dragon she wouldn't know that he wouldn't have told her in an online chat or something so how does she know he's a dragon and how does he find her if she's half way around the world. I kinda wanna read them to find out but not if they're like book 3. So far the only real consistency is switching character POVs from chapter to chapter n each book..
I love Roxie Ray’s books in her Black Claw Dragon series. The 3rd book in the series is Her Dragon Lover, with a female protagonist named Harley. She is a 28-year old woman who manages a beauty salon and who has had a crush on Stefan, a younger man who works as an auto mechanic at the local auto repair shop. Harley has no idea that many of the people she knows in Black Claw are dragon shifters, including Stefan. She has tried flirting with Stefan, but he hasn’t responded in a positive manner, at least until he overhears another man verbally abusing his mate. However, Stefan continues to resist Harley; but there is a reason why he doesn’t want to claim Harley as his mate. Stefan is a man with secrets.
As with all of the other books in this series, this one is very well written and has a wonderful slow developing romance between the two protagonists. Harley discovers secrets about her family and discovers some of Stefan’s secrets as well. There is also a generous sprinkling of intrigue and suspense.
I would highly recommend this book, as well as the other books in this series, to anyone who likes a good romance and who likes dragon shifter novels.

ONE PULSE RACING LANDSLIDE!!! Ditzy dragon! Roxie presents one delectable delight, exhibiting every sentiment and nuance, delivering this skillfully composed delight, spinning one arresting storyline and gripping plot, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. A surging multitude of unexpected circumstances and surprising mishaps, takes you on one emotional whirlwind. Twixt, twined and combined, exposing the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's strength and awe inspiring in it's depth. Cognizant of the instant awareness and charged atmosphere, along with a bevy of shocking twists and stunning turns, tempting our characters in ways they could have never envisioned. The attraction and chemistry is intense, alluring and mesmerizing, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow smoothly, transforming into genuinely charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Amazing job Roxie, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
I really really loved the first half of this book. The second half was no where near as good. He’s a dragon with a past. She’s his mate but he feels that he can’t be with her. So he’s mean to her and makes her cry. Until he realised all of a sudden he wants to be with her. Personally I’d have told him to go jump, after the way that he treat her! Also there is no explanations to who people are. So when they say you can read it on it’s own or read isn’t as part of the series. What that means is that you have to read them all to know who people are. People are mentioned and there is no explanation as to who they are.
*Spoiler alert*
So she’s a virgin and likes to be asked for her consent. So sexy scenes which could have been really hot turned into him asking for her frigging permission all the time. Yes it’s amazing to be asked but not constantly. And there is no way that a virgin would feel comfortable using a dildo on herself in front of him while he gets himself off!!! No way!!!! She’s really scared of sex but can do that???
Saving for the best, is worth it! Harley, takes care of her Nana. Claire is the young, efficient home nurse who helps out. Harley is struggling in her romantic connections, she is looking for her one. She does her best trying to find a man that will hold her interest for whom she is saving herself. Then she meets Stefan. She has a crush on him, but he is a bit standoffish. She didn't realize she was getting a reputation of not meeting modern expectations among some people. The better people recognize she is a nice, warm, honest pure woman. Stefan is struggling with trust issues and a large set of baggage. They take up real estate in each other's head while mangling the communication process. Their courtship ends up being a roller coaster ride, fun, scary with lots of swerves and twists. Excellent friends and cast of characters. Will Stefan trust Harley? Will Harley take that step? Can they form a strong bond? Can Harley handle the dragon? Great story. Nicely done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Nice cover art!
Over the last few days, I've been listening to the audiobooks in this series. This one is my favorite. I loved the characters- Stefan was a sweet and strong character who is honorable- a prior alpha who decided to join in with the Kingston family (he helped the family in the first book). He accepted his lot in his life and grew as a character. Harley, also, was a great character. She was strong and mature. I loved the way she handled everything thrown at her. In prior books, i have to admit that I found issues with the couple but not in this one.
The audiobook was good- Bitsy Hill was also my favorite of the narrators from these last 3 books (There were a couple of editing mistakes such as repeated lines). She did a good job with the male and female voices. I do wish there was a dual narration since this does tell the story from the POV of both Stefan and Harley. However, this was an enjoyable story and I'm happy to have had the opportunity to listen.
Dragons considered their vows to be something sacred.
“Don’t worry,” he whispered. “I won’t steal your virtue.”
“The idea of being your onl—first lover. Of teaching you all the ways a man can make a woman’s body sing with desire? That’s as hot as it gets.”
“You should take pride in the fact that you’ll get to make a man—whoever you give your virginity to—feel like the most important man in the world. You’re giving him a gift, that’s yours to give to whomever you choose.” He looked me deep in my eyes. “You’re the sexiest woman I’ve ever met, and that only makes you sexier.”
“You don’t have to offer me anything but your heart
“I don’t mean love me. I mean be loyal to me. Be with me if you’re with me, even if we aren’t together.”
“And I’m loyal. And you have my heart in whatever capacity you want it.
“The idea that I can give you your firsts and lasts makes me feel like the most special man in the world.”
You can do anything you want, mate. I will give you the world.
Harley was friends with Charlotte and Ava who were mated with dragons and that is how she met Stefan. She fell for him but he treated her super bad and made her feel pretty useless. She kept on working and taking care of her Nana who was very ill, every time she saw him, he treated Ike crap. After realizing that he could have lost her when she had a stalker, he admitted to her that he was trying to keep her away from his past. He definitely wanted to be with her then she got pregnant and his scent was on her. Her dad kidnapped her with her step sister’s help on spying on Harley for him so he could turn him into his uncle the alpha of his old clan. They wanted him dead because of what had happened years ago Stefan and his uncle fought he won so his old clan had to leave him and his family alone. Her father was killed but Stefan and Harley are really staying together probably having a really cute baby! Another book please!
I really liked the first two books in this series. I was excited for this one. It has a good plot and storyline but this one didn't flow as smoothly as the first two novels. There were several time the editing team obviously missed some inconsistencies. Sometimes it was hard to tell if Harley's grandmother was related to Harley's mother or father, until it was revealed. Then it was a problem of recognizing the mistake but knowing what was supposed to have been said or done in the story. I'm invested in the Kingston pack so I got through it but I could have easily put it down for a while and come back to it later. That's not to say you shouldn't read it but this would be a good one to read when you're doing things and need to take a break and read for a little while then get back to whatever you're doing. I'm looking forward to he next one and am hoping it goes more smoothly.
I felt soooo bad for poor Harley, she just had so many things hit her in this title.
She was shot down in her attempt to hook up with Stefan in Her Dragon Protector, and she never really gets over it. It HURTS to care about someone and then not have your feelings returned.
I was happy when Stefan finally gives in and finds he can't resist her sweet heart. She forgives him, and from that point onward he is protective and support of her needs throughout the rest of their story.
I enjoyed learning more history about the town of Black Claw, and getting a more in depth look at the past dragons in the area.
However, again there is copious amounts of alcohol consumption which just...isn't my cuppa tea.
I did enjoy this one, and I do recommend the first 3 book in the series but my interest somewhat waned by the end of this one.
I'm not sure I will continue reading this series. The first couple of books, I felt like I couldn't put them down but as I reached the end of this one it just felt like some things were being repeated (family gatherings, alcohol, reexplaining everything about dragons, bar trips with more alcohol, girls night with even more alcohol, bad guy hurt girl Tarzan save girl followed by HEA)
Harley is drawn to Stephan but doesn't know why. Stephan knows that they are mates but he cant tell her.
She is a 28 year old virgin which honestly I am getting tired of reading about the older virgin. I seems to be in a lot of books I have read lately. Anyway he is 22 which I don't mind that she was older I just wish he was more like 25. He defo showed his age at times.
She can feel the pull towards him and is basically throwing herself at him and getting rejected over and over. When he goes to Ava and Mavericks for dinner and Harley is there he is mean to her and she goes to the bathroom and cries. He can hear her cos he's a shifter and so can the other shifters so he leaves and vows to stay away.
A shifter the gang don't know starts to follow Harley and starts asking her questions. She goes to the police station (their all shifters) and they try to follow the scent but it is been masked by something. Stephan finds out and decides he cant stay away now he has to protect her.
You find out who hired the guy to sneak around and its not a big shock. You also find out why Stephan thought they couldn't mate.
A woman turns up telling her she is her sister and then tells her about dragons which she doesn't believe at first but then Stephan shows her.
Her and her sister get kidnapped but you don't know if her sister is good or bad
The ending is kind of anticlimactic and over and solved rather easy.
I loved Stephan. He tried so hard to be a good guy. He even researched how to have sex with a virgin. She was just ok
They next book is Jury and honestly after this book I dunno if I'm gonna like him. We will see
Stefan is a alpha dragon. Right now he’s a beta dragon he is learning how to be a positive role model and alpha for his clan once he gets older. He’s met his faded mate. This would be Harley. She is a licensed cosmetologist who’s lived in this town almost her whole life. Her family is from this town. It’s the phone and his dragon arrows loves Harley. He is afraid his pass is going to come and haunt him and harm her. He’s mentioned this before. Harley is mad at him because he thinks he hates her even though they are drastically attracted to each other. The whole town is it. Every time there together, Stefun is rude or quickly makes the exit stage left. Both sides have amazing surprises like for instance, Harley has a stalker. No cliffhanger just a lot of ways to make a clean slate.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
While though I am really enjoying the series I do have an issue with this series
Fated mates are rare (so we are told) but so far each of the men in the clan have a fated mate. It’s making them seem like it’s completely normal. And the actual problem solved thing feels super fast to me but don’t get me wrong because I do love the suspense of knowing you have less than 100 pages for something to go wrong 😂
But with this book I did really enjoy the fact that Harley came from dragons! That was amazing and made this book the best and also 10/10 for consent! The way Harley and Stefan formed the relationship and they took it so much slower then the other couples did. So far probably my favorite book so far and can’t wait for Jury’s book! I was hoping either him or Maddoxs book would be next lol

Stefan knew Harley was his fated mate since he first laid eyes on her. He pushes her away believing she deserves someone better. Harley is drawn to him but after one too many rejections by him, vows to move on. When danger stalks Harley, Stefan realizes he cannot ignore that she was is the woman for him and his dragon. Their respective families put both of them in harm's way and they'll need each other and their Kingston clan friends to survive. You'll want to bash Stefan over the head for denying her but his careful courtship and consideration of Harley will win your heart. He and his dragon Eros know how to please their mate so plenty of sexy times abound as well as action as the dragons fight Stefan and Harley's enemies. Can't wait to read Jury's book who's already started out on the wrong foot with his mate.
I absolutely love the Roxie Ray books! You will be engrossed in every story. You will root for the characters and fall in love with the Black Claw Clan. These writers don’t waste their writing prowess with a bunch of filler nonsense. There is always more than one story line within each book , yet you still get a glimpse of past and future characters as their stories progress! I love nothing more than getting lost in a book and being able to visualize the characters, and the story itself as I read. The people, and places come alive in my mind and that makes for the perfect reading experience!!! These are some of the BEST books in the SHIFTER genre that I’ve ever read and I have read Hundreds!!! These are a must read and definitely check out the other Roxie Ray series, you will not be disappointed!!!
These two characters are pretty adorable. He's worried she's too good for him and out of his league, and she's worried she's older than him and so he doesn't want her. He does a lot of research to make sure he's a great lover - she's been saving herself for the perfect guy. Hence the title.
I always appreciate consent being front and center,
“May I kiss you again?” he asked at the door to my garage. He’d walked me to the door. That was the sort of chivalry that was hot.
“You’ve already kissed me,” I said. “Why would you ask now?” ....
“You kissed me, initiating the other kisses. This time, I want to kiss you, but I want your consent.”
Be still my heart.
The set up for the next book looks great - the two main characters have already had a falling out. They're younger characters and sound like they have a lot of growing up to do.
