Beachy, heartwarming and inspirational, Laurie Larsen's love stories contain a bit of faith in addition to the Happily Ever After. Her beloved Pawleys Island Paradise series gained fans, not only because of the stories and unforgettable characters, but the "arrogantly shabby" real-life island setting.
A multi-award winning author, she's won the EPIC Award for Best Spiritual Romance, the Illumination Book Award for Inspirational Romance Fiction and the eLit Award for Religious Fiction.
Laurie began her writing career back when she was juggling a challenging day job in Information Technology Management. Bewildered as to how an English major who loved to read discovered herself in a highly technical career path, writing became her creative release. Because "all good things come to those that wait," her reward finally arrived: retiring from the day job, moving to the beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry and writing novels full-time; at least, in between lathering on the sunscreen, walking the beach, and entertaining her feisty rescue pup, Weezer.
A member of Romance Writers of America for fifteen years, now, she's the President of an American Christian Fiction Writers chapter. She's lived her own Happily Ever After for over thirty years.
I loved reading Micah and Maria’s story. In this book you couldn’t have asked for two people who were more different, and yet perfect for each other. When they meet each other for some reason their attraction just makes sense, but their physical locations don’t match up. Micah is a hard nosed Hollywood agent pushing for the next great deal. Maria is a widowed single mother making ends meet. When the matchmaking moms get involved there’s bound to be love in the air. I received an ARC of this story from the author and this is my honest review.
Oh, wow! I loved Micah and Maria's story!!! It was funny, it was light hearted, it was Cinderella going to the ball, and so much more! I love the way Laurie used a Bible verse on a hanging to draw Micah back to God. He knew Him, just needed to be introduced again. Maria started it, the plaque helped seal it, and things really started happening! I have to admit, at first I didn't really care for Micah and his attitude, but he grew on me, fast!!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
Micah is a highenergy, successful talent agent in both L.A. and NYC. Maria is a widow, with an adorable baby daughter. Although a former real estate agent in SC,Maria is cleaning houses to support her baby and herself. What can two so different people find in common? Can God bring them together? Well written, fun matchmaking book
Fun, inspirational, and the most difficult of the three. These moms were tenacious and unrelenting. Nothing was going to stand in their way. God worked everything out in each situation.
The playboy did not start out as a very likeable, so I was glad to see the change love made in him. I liked the way the ending wasn't as obvious as a Hollywood romance flick. Enjoyed this one best of series.
Finding Love for the Playboy is a ight hearted, opposites attracted romance. I love Micah and Maria. I was fun to watch Micah change some of his long held beliefs about relationships and love. I think this match is my favorite of the three. With the time constraint, Lily really had to plan well. Sometimes the right thing just happens. I am sorry this series seems like it will end with the next book. If you are looking for a sweet, clean romance, do not miss this book.
I enjoyed every book in this series prior to this and this one was no different. It was fun to watch the moms try to plot as matchmakers. I also enjoy a good single mom story. This one also had a little bit of a rich/poor feel to it as well. I thought the romance progressed a bit fast for my liking, but that didn't take away from the story - it's just personal preference. If you like contemporary Christian fiction, I recommend this book.
I've come to the conclusion that Laurie's books sneak up on me...at first I'm like, I don't like this guy. Or the writing isn't that sophisticated...and then I get so caught up in the characters and their growth that they seem so very real to me--even a Hollywood talent agent! I come away feeling better for having read the book--that's saying something!
Laurie Larsen again has managed to keep me reading in spite of all that I need to be doing, like sleeping, laundry and cleaning. I really wanted to find out how she would manage to get West Coast high roller Micah and East Coast widow, Maria, together. The matchmakers have their hands full with this one. I really enjoyed this story.
