Have you ever read the Bibliographies at the end of the book?

This one is a big book of Bibliographies. Every chapter you will find references from books and quotes by someone saying something meaningful, that you can find all over the net. Yes! This book is just a collections of Newspaper scrapings and made into one big motivational book.

Like all the self-help books, this book is divided into
1. Motivational Quotes
2. Some references of a sports person.
3. Some Mindfulness( Trending now)
4. Breath control ( Pranayama, which the author calls conveniently BOX Breathing, I wonder why)
5. Lots of reference to Gandhi. ( where in the world you would find large book reading population from a single country. Yes India is a big market, so authors drop lots of references from India, you know why. And btw, not everyone who reads books are a fan of Gandhi in my country.)
6. Lots of small stories of the sports Mark Minervini pursues and the subtle bragging constantly reminded me of Sudha Murty.

Okay , why did i pick up this book?
1. It was written by Mark Minervini, the most respected name in Financial Trading Markets.
2. I expected some substance, but all I got was all I didn't want to know about sports he pursues.

Why 3 Stars if i disliked this book so much.
See the title to the book? It says Bonus 80 Pages. Those 80 Pages are the only pages that are worth reading in the entire book.

This was my first book, by the Author, would read another book, that talks only about trading. Lets see, if that one has any substances, Mark promises of.

Not a bad choice if this happens to be your first self-help book. However, if you are a veteran reader of the genre, as yours truly is, you may be in for a disappointment. Minervini tells his audience all the right things. The problem is these things have been told by countless others and in a far more engaging manner. Apart from spreading itself too thin, 'Mindset Secrets' does the unforgivable sin of being supremely boring. I mean if you aren't motivating me, at least entertain me. There's a certain amateurism pervading this effort, perhaps because the author has strayed too far from his area of strength - stock trading. Still, as said earlier, beginners may find useful ideas in here. So don't hesitate to pick this one up if you are new to the pursuit of self-motivation.

This is such a good book that I bought copies for other people before I finished reading it. I've done the whole Tony Robbins Mastery University, and studied NLP under Richard Bandler. This is a condensed version of techniques / tools that will help you realise your full potential, no matter what your discipline. The author isn't a one-hit wonder - he came from a poor background and made himself successful in a number of unrelated disciplines - from trading to sports. It's a practical book which tells you how to succeed in any discipline. You normally pay a lot of money for information as good as this. I urge you to read it.

Amateurish rehash of everything you have read in countless books

Sadly this seems to be a case of the author taking his own principle of stretching a bit too far. This is an ordinary work at the very best and a rank amateur effort at worst. Not fit to be anything but a free giveaway, this is utterly disappointing.

Key takeaways

1) your identity shapes your beliefs which shapes your actions. Before tangible success can ever be reached, your mindset must first have already reached the destination. Need to close the gap between where we are and where we want to go through the use of visualisations and re-programming the subconscious to think that the goal is already in possession

Great book! Mark is an inspiration. I have read all his books.

However, My expectation from this book was - This be more about Stock Trading and how he thinks, but in majority of the book rarely he mentioned that and provided example about how he thinks when trading. Majority of the books is about: sports, business etc. I wish there was more about Trading. Because there are so many other book exists which are about mindset etc.

Not that this books is not helpful. There is a lot to learn but if you are buying specifically for Trading mindset than I believe it is not a great source for that.

I like how Mark provides concrete examples of the techniques and practices he uses to achieve his results, instead of just quoting what others have shared before. For me, the biggest takeaway is to practice visualisation. This is not totally new to me, but his step by step explanation of how to make it more impactful resonates with me.
The book is easy to read and concepts are not too abstract.
I hope you too find value from his sharing and get to implement new ideas soon into your school, sports and career etc.

As an Audiobook 3.8

Two good takeaways :

1. You have to change your identity, to change your beliefs, which will change your actions, and that will change your life.

2. A great practical advice is to envision past victories, to cement in your unconscious mind the idea that you are a winner.

Some of the ideas in it are stereotypical and there was not much innovation.

Minervini’s strength is stocks, not self-help. This book was not very good. It had some good points in it, but was a bear to get through.

I highly recommend his other two books, this one I can’t recommend.

Life is like a radio. All the stations are playing simultaneously; It’s simply a matter of which one you choose to tune into. A way to win and a way to lose always exist as options. Your circumstances reveal the choices you’ve made.

A good book on how to achieve optimal performance in various fields but mostly on sports. Very little general ideas able to be distilled to applied in stock trading (if you look for when thinking about the author who is popular of his trading records)

A healthy compilation of countless self help books prior !

Needless to say I was disappointed as I am a big fan of author and his stock market books ( Trade Like a Stock Market Wizard & Think & Trade Like a Champion)

I have already tried and tested some of the techniques mentioned

These techniques are like band aids. They are good for small cuts.
But you cant apply them blindly on everyone with pain without analyzing the cause.

Being someone who started seeing results after reading CBT(Cognitive Behavioral therapy) books,
cannot recommend this to anyone even though just like band aid, these techniques may work for some !

Really Hope author will take it as a positive note, do some research about CBT & mesmerize with another book like " secrets for winning - based on CBT " as he had done with his stock market books.

The audio version is really really abridged. This isn't mentioned until the end where they say end of part 1, I'm not sure where part 2 is. It wouldn't be a big deal maybe if there weren't references to later chapters that don't exist. I don't know what I expected from this book. I have enjoyed his book on trading and I guess I was looking for more of that, this is sort of a mash up of other ideas through the lens of how it worked for Minervini, which I think I would have liked more if you know all the chapters mentioned had been here.

Best personal development book ever

This book takes many of the best personal development tips and puts it all at your finger tips. You will not read it once, you will return to this gem time and time again. It is by far one of if not the best books on this topic that I have ever read. Thank you Mark!!

Very practical reminder of what mindset creates success, found it re-ignited something in me by reminding me of what I already knew and practiced, but had taken for so granted that I had let it slip or wanted to see how much it had been responsible for the success I had experienced and learned that it was responsible for a large part of it if not all!

Mark takes away every excuse for not being successful with this book. I have read my fair share of self help material and I can say there is nothing better out there. With the tools he provides here know I can conquer anything.
