A baker who sees the dead. One too many suitors. And a killer. Living in Honey Hollow can be murder.
My name is Lottie Lemon, and I see dead people. Okay, so I rarely see dead people, mostly I see furry creatures of the dearly departed variety, who have come back from the other side to warn me of their previous owner’s impending doom.
It’s fall. The air is crisp, and the apples are poison. Evie is turning sixteen, my life has been upended, and then there’s that body…Honey Hollow High is having a fundraiser and it’s not only full of surprise exes, and glitzy baubles, it’s full of murder. And on top of that, I have news that has turn my world inside out. And now both Noah and Everett are forced to reckon with it. Everything has changed in my world. Nothing will ever be the same again.
Lottie Lemon has a brand new bakery to tend to, a budding romance with perhaps one too many suitors, and she has the supernatural ability to see the dead—which are always harbingers for ominous things to come. Throw in the occasional ghost of the human variety, a string of murders, and her insatiable thirst for justice, and you’ll have more chaos than you know what to do with.

Lottie is at it again...finding bodies....solving murders....dealing with two gorgeous men and her crazy family. This time it is a little different. Everything is different when you have a little one growing inside if you! I'm loving watching Lottie and her family change and grow. I can not wait for the next book!
I couldn’t finish this trash as it’s all about sex and extremely bad morals, and on and on it goes, even seeming to glorify that sort of behaviour among high schoolers, which I thought tragic when there are so many illnesses , one deadly, some life time that you can get from leading a promiscuous lifestyle, apart from babies. I couldn’t in all honesty finish more than a few pages. What a tragedy of a book.
Not my cuppa... And clearly I shouldn't have started with this book in the series. Lottie finds herself pregnant and the father is either her ex bf or her fake-no-more husband. Her birth mother is batsh*t crazy and there's been a murder at a PTA event.
I can't justify the craziness with the murder. Sorry.
In Poison Apple Crisp, Addison Moore serves a delicious murder mystery! Unfortunately, she also murders the English language; hence only 4 stars, not 5. PTA dictator Barbara is found dead at the high school fundraiser with one of Lottie Lemon’s apple crisps in her hand. Professional baker and amateur sleuth Lottie is famous in Honey Hollow, Vermont and caters every well-attended event…and inevitably runs across a dead body. Her adoptive mom, Miranda, runs the local B&B and gives $80 tours of her “haunted” building (which really has 4 resident ghosts—a former sorority sister who died about a year ago; her 200-year-old farmer boyfriend who used to work the B&B’s land; their adopted “daughter”, Azalea “Lea”, who has dark hair brushed over her face, filthy clothes and shoes, and carries an axe to kill whoever slaughtered her family on the same property. Also present is Thirteen, a black cat who showed up to help solve a complex murder case and didn’t leave once the case was solved. Miranda finishes the tours at Lottie’s Cutie Pie bakery for a taste of The Last Thing They Ate—every victim had one of Lottie’s tasty treats in, on, or near them. Lottie’s assistant Lily automatically asks what the masses will demand, and as queasy as Lottie feels about profiting from murder, she can’t turn away eager customers! The Last Thing They Ate isn’t the only thing making Lottie queasy now…she’s pregnant, and it’s more My Two Dads than Paternity Court! Homicide detective Noah Fox and Judge Everett Baxter are the most likely suspects for fatherhood, and strangely they don’t battle each other—instead each vows to protect Lottie and the baby, whether it’s his or not, and the only person not OK with the arrangement is 15-year-old Evie, Everett’s daughter by a crazy stalker who threatens to take Everly (she won’t call Lottie by her real name, but she calls her daughter by the name Evie hates) back to her old boarding school and away from Everett and Lisa/Landry/Lola asap! Lottie’s birth mom Carlotta leverages her ties to the mob and their strip club, and Lottie and her men return from their first sonogram to find a circle of high school girls strutting their stuff and a group of boys around them showing their appreciation. Evie’s parents break up the party, to her disappointment and Carlotta’s (birth mom is so trashy she makes oversexed cougar Miranda Lemon look like a dignified saint), and tell Evie to celebrate her Sweet Sixteen in a sweeter manner. Talk to the hand, Carlotta! Is there a murder investigation? Yes, and as with the other victims it seems Barbara was less inspiring and more intimidating. Nobody even pretended to be upset by her death, even her fiancé and best friend. The principal of the high school, who calls Everett “Essex” as a sign she’s one of his many ex-lovers, is actually relieved! Barbara was impossible to work with; she only wanted people to work FOR her. Noah and Everett won’t leave Lottie (and the baby) to investigate without them, so they eat at a restaurant in sketchy Leeds, the downtrodden town next to HH, and sneak into the principal’s office at night to look for evidence linking the principal to the murder—and the theft of a valuable true-crime, signed book from Lottie’s house after Lottie accidentally took it home from the silent auction. Fortunately, Lottie found a sealed envelope in the back of the book and sent it to the sheriff’s office unopened. The thief wouldn’t have found the envelope, if that’s why they stole it! Spoiler alert: It was a redheaded woman who killed Barbara and stole the book! But so many women who dislike Lottie have red hair—the principal, the best friend, even Noah’s humorless partner, Ivy Fairbanks—that’s not even a real clue. Suffice it to say, the cute pet Pomeranian and Thirteen team up to keep the killer from dragging Lottie into the woods. Go ghost pets! By the end of the book, Evie is enjoying her rescheduled, wholesome birthday party and Lottie’s men are enjoying her company. But an ominous shadow, like a giant dog with glowing red eyes, is following Lottie, and her beloved grandma Nell returns from paradise to warn Lottie against investigating the next, dark, dangerous murder. This is closer to a cliffhanger than any Murder in the Mix books so far, and the hint of genuine evil made this Stranger Things fan eager to read book 26! But I think as the series reaches its halfway point, Addison Moore and her editor are tiring. I see errors too egregious to ignore, and despite my efforts to overlook minor mistakes, I found myself making Notes about misused words and phrases that an alert editor would have caught! Also, the whole Noah-or-Everett thing has played itself out. Choose one already! Yet Poison Apple Crisp (and the rest of the series) is as addictive as Lottie’s sweets, and I highly recommend it!
Another amazing installment of the life and crazy times of Lottie Lemon and her amazing friends and family. There is always so much going on in Lottie's life that it is amazing that there are other new things that can come up and make her life more interesting then hey already are. In this the 25th book of the cozy Honey Hollow series we find Lottie and her family and friends gathered in the bakery for a huge announcement. This has turned her life upside down. It has also caused the men in her life to reconcile their differences to help Lottie stay safe and keep her out of trouble while she tries to hunt down a murderer after the event at Honey Hollow High to raise money for the upcoming school year that Evie will be attending. Then there is Evie's birthday that Lottie has to get the cake ready for also.
You can read this amazing book as a stand alone or as I would suggest reading these from the first book to the last as they come as they are much better this way. Now to get the next book and see how things go in the next book. I really do enjoy these books as they are each great alone, but I get to learn so much more about Lottie and all of her crazy family and friends as the series goes further along.

Poison Apple Crisp is the twenty-fifth book in the Murder in the Mix series by Addison Moore and it's wonderful as always. Town baker Lottie Lemon is once again doomed to witness another dastardly murder of one of her town's residents who just so happens to be sampling her desserts. Using her ever-evolving transmundane abilities and with the help of a spectral pet, Lottie and friends must hunt for a killer among the residents of Honey Hollow. Hopefully before the murderer turns they're sights on our investigative town baker herself.
Meanwhile, underneath the murder mystery remains the ongoing love triangle between Lottie, Everett and Noah. But that triangle is starting to look like a family tree and their relationship with Lottie will be forever changed. As if their situation wasn't complicated enough right?!
While this is a standalone, I highly recommend reading at least a few of the previous books in the series. This book is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page and give you a few good laughs in between. You'll thoroughly enjoy this spirited story from a fantastic author. I can't wait to see what this gang gets up to next.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
At the beginning of this series I thoroughly enjoyed Lottie and Noah’s relationship. Then Everett gets his time with Lottie. I was team Noah for quite awhile but then switched to team Everett. I eventually became disillusioned by the whole situation that I didn’t care which one just wished Lottie would choose!! Now with a pregnancy and have gotten to “know” Noah and Everett I am hoping the pregnancy will become a heteropaternal superfecundation occurrence and both men get to have a child! They both certainly deserve one! As far as Lottie I am becoming somewhat disgusted by her bed hopping! She said she chose Everett but she didn’t. Noah told her to have her shot with Everett like Everett had told Lottie to decide to either end it with Noah and return to him or choose to stay with Noah. Lottie just bounces back and forth. This double soulmate stuff doesn’t mean she has no responsibility. First off God doesn’t make mistakes second it’s in his commandments to cling to your spouse forsaking all others. Yes I know this is fiction but the author talks about a higher power making decisions. If a ghost has to return to heaven or have approval to remain, how can that higher power allow infidelity?
Lottie Lemon is a baker in Honey Hollow, VT. She’s gathered all her friends and family together at the bakery to finally announce that she’s expecting a baby! A trio of women enter to pick up an order. They’re all connected to Honey Hollow High School and the apple crisp desserts are for that evening’s fundraiser. At the event, a tragedy occurs, a murder! Since Lottie is transmundane, she sees the cute ghostly dog of the recently departed. She sets out to find the culprit. But, can she and her unborn baby stay safe? The men in her life, Everett and Noah, are trying to keep a strict watch on her to make sure she doesn't get caught up in a crazy, dangerous situation. This is a good addition to this great series. This book can be read as a standalone, but I really recommend that you read this whole cozy mystery series. You'll get to know and love Lottie, the men in her life, and all her crazy friends and family!

Poisoned Apple Crisp is the twenty-fifth book in the Murder in the Mix Mystery series. This series stories builds on each other so I would suggest reading them in order to get the most out of it, but you could always read them as a stand alone if you wanted to and not be to lost. Lemon has a gift of seeing dead animal of those who will experience back luck soon, but lately deadly luck. Like all the books in this series, when Lottie sees a ghostly animal she knows death is soon to follow. In this book Evie is getting ready to go to Honey Hollow High and there is a big fund raiser to start the new year off on the right foot. But for one person this will be the last thing they ever go to, and of coarse in the victims has one of Lottie’s special treats in her dying hand. Like always Lottie wants to help solve the mystery of who the killer is, but more than ever Everett and Noah want her to stay back and keep safe. Will she listen? Or will instinct take over and find Lottie poking around to figure things out?
It's basically like all other books: There is a murder, Lottie solves it, confronts the murderer (by herself) & is almost killed. I skimmed through this one in just over an hour. Was curious to see progress in her relationship between Noah & Everett (not much). Her pregnancy is confirmed; however, she doesn't know who the baby daddy is since she slept with both (not at the same time). I'm beyond frustrated that after all this time, she cannot make up her mind between the two & strings both along. I'm even more surprised that the two men put up with it. Since there are another 20+ books or so left in the series, it might take another 10 books or so before we find out who her baby daddy is - the relationship is moving that slow.

I was hooked right from the start with this series and let me tell you trips to Honey Hollow are always a welcome escape. Lottie Lemon sees the dead, but when she does it’s usually hand in hand with a Murder. I find myself laughing out loud repetitively through her adventures, turning pages because I need to know what happens next, and completely loosing track of time! This may be number 25 in the series, I need 26 due to the fact I need to know what’s next! (btw highly suggest you start at one, even though they are stand able to be stand alone books, you need to start where it begins to get the full effect)
Lottie Lemon, baker extraordinaire, watches the body count rise in Honey Hollow with her killer treats. With a new bun in the oven, a bakery to run, and Everett and Noah by her side, Lottie is still able to investigate another murder. All the while she is also planning a sweet 16 party for Evie and watching her begin her first day at Honey Hollow High. She'll get a little help along the way with a spectral pomeranian named Ginger. Will it be enough to catch a killer, and keep Lottie safe? Read this 25th book in the Murder in the Mix series to find out.
AS IF, Addison couldnt leave me on the edge of a steep crazy cliff again? Well holy smokes!! After PCC I didn't think it was possible to leave a girl hanging like that again.... I. WAS. WRONG. Lottie is in some deep doo when another haunting hairball shows up!! This is an edge of your seat read! I can't even. How? HOW do I explain this book without spoilers?!? Read it. Just read it!! I promise you will not be disappointed!!
It doesn't matter how many times I visit Honey Hollow, it never gets old. I love how the author keeps each character true to their original while still giving them something new and fun in each book. This story is no different. There's still fun, romance, suspense and a mystery to solve. I will continue to read this series as long as the author keeps writing it. Well done to the author on another fantabulous story.
In this one Lottie finds herself with a cute Pomeranian dog as her "guide". She is left to try and figure out who is behind the latest murder. Add in the fact that she is in limbo over her current situation, she is all over the place. I was really hoping that Lottie would finally choose one of them and quit stringing along the other one. Her shows of jealousy in this book towards other women was a bit much. I am really hoping this situation resolves soon.
It's fall time of the year, and Evie is having a birthday ( 16) and of course there is another body. The high school is having fundraiser and has a lot of surprises. Lottie has news and who will like it? Nothing will ever be the same again. So when is it gong to end with the three and who is going to win out? Love the author but this series has gone on long enough especially with some of the characters.
Lottie Lemon is at it again. Trying to solve a murder with the help of her transmundane abilities to see the dead. Usually the dead pets of those who just died. This time it's a little different. Lottie is pregnant and her hormones are all over the place. Will Lottie be able to solve another one? Will she solve the biggest mystery of them all, who is the father to her baby?
I enjoy this series. Lottie has her hands full with murder and her life. Lottie has too many suspects with motives. I laughed at her pregnancy food cravings. Carlotta. Her biological mother, goes too far with some of her scheming. The ending has an ominous warning for Lottie.
Comedy wrapped up in a mystery is the best way to describe these books. Certifiable is how I describe some of these characters! Cray-Cray being the biggest problem of them all it doesn't help she's Lottie Lemon's biological mother she's A handful at every turn!
The characters are wonderful and zany. The plot is twisty and convoluted. The world building is fantastic and quirky. I can't wait to read the next book!
Great mystery, love the characters. Now Little is expecting and she is not sure which brother is the dad. Add a murder mystery, and her mother trying to corrupt her teenage daughter and we have laughs too.
I may love all these books. But still wish Noah would find a nice girl...not lemon. I love the idea of Nell and what's coming next....... Shame on Cray Cray, that was sex work. *Barf*
This book is filled with talking ghost animals, a murder, theft and behind the scenes heat. I love following Lottie Lemon and trying to figure out the mystery. I also like that this book comes with a recipe.
There hasn’t been one boring book in this series. It’s so entertaining and cute. And that cliffhanger in the end... I can’t wait to see what the author is going to do next!
