Romance, clean, contemporary; series, but stand alone read Cy and Patsy's romance was fun to read. They both were attracted to each other when they met briefly. With some communication issues, Cy's frustration level that frustrates him, family, friends, work, and all the everyday moments that make things complicated, it takes a while for them to finally be together. Their obvious attraction, even with the misunderstandings, hurts, and embarassing moments was so sweetly described. Two sweet, honest, hurting hearts, one of my favorite kind of reads. As always, family plays a big role in this series, so some cameo appearances by characters in other novels, but still can be read by itself. I think Cy's humble nature, even though he was wealthy, was a definite plus for me. I'm always more interested in the character and integrity of the person in any novel I read, not the money. Loved the family issues, how they both helped each other a bit, and how Cy's family helped him get help at one point. So thoughtfully discussed. Fun western setting, and loved visiting the lodge again for a bit! More of a 3.5 for me as a reader, but rounded up.
I highly enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed and engaging and full of connection and chemistry throughout the pages. The storyline took my attention and kept it till the end.

Her Cowboy Billionaire Beast: Hammond Brothers is book 4 in the Christmas at Whiskey Mountain Lodge series by Liz Isaacson. Does another Hammond brother find love in Coral Canyon?
Up next is Cy and Patsy’s story. When Cy loses his lease on his building in California he decides its time to come back to Coral Canyon where most of his family lives but when his anxiety and depression kick in its harder to go to the open road on his motorcycle.
Patsy is the manager of Whiskey Mountain Lodge and the attraction is instantaneous between her and Cy but she has her own issues.
Will these two be able to work thru their issues to find their HEA or will they just be to much?
This is book four of the Christmas at Whiskey Mountain Lodge series and involves Patsy and Cy. He is one of the Hammond brothers, all very wealthy and with good jobs, not that any of them need to work. He has a twin brother Ames, who is the only one he can’t hide his problems from. He suffers from anxiety and his past couple of relationships have left him in a bad way and made his mental health suffer. He had previously tried counselling and medication, but has refused to take any since. He has now moved his custom motorcycle business to Coral Canyon, where most of his brothers are also situated.
Patsy works at the Whiskey Mountain Lodge and almost runs him over when she meets him at her family orchard. It has belonged to her family for generations and they have just had to sell off a large section due to her sister’s mismanagement of the orchard over the last few years. At the Whittaker family get together, she gets caught by surprise when Cy asks her out, whilst leaning on the intercom button, letting everybody there what he is doing and embarrassing them both. She always seems to attract losers and is hesitant to get involved with anyone, especially one of the Hammond brothers, who have already snared a few of her friends.
She soon realises that CY has a bit of an issue dealing with things and people. He wears a rubber band on his wrist and has to snap it constantly, when he is feeling anxious or stressed. Moving his home and business causes him enough problems and starting a new relationship with patsy, even if very slowly, still increases his mental health issues and he refuses to get help, as his twin suggests, thinking he is coping ok with everything. Patsy may be used to giving him time to reply or speak at times, but she doesn’t get to see the ‘beast’ side of him, until much later on. This is a classical getting together of two people at opposite ends of the spectrum, by chance, and then struggling to accept the differences that this can bring.
For Cy, money means nothing, but to Patsy, expensive gifts bring back really bad memories of her last boyfriend and the way he would try to manipulate her because of them. This causes a massive issue for Patsy and Cy and is almost the death sentence to their life together, bringing the beast out in full force. There is a lot of prayer in the story, from both sides, asking for help to know what the next steps should be and for assistance in choosing the right path. They both need to learn to trust the other fully and put their past bad experiences behind them if they are to continue a life together. A quaint tale of love amongst many obstacles, the interference of family and family problems, and completely different life styles having to mesh.
Two characters who are worlds apart, yet meet by accident and fall in love. Lots of prayer and asking God for his advice and the very real inclusion of mental health issues and the pitfalls this can bring to a relationship and family life. Loved how mental health problems were brought into a love story and became such an important part of the story. An issue that is often swept under the carpet in our modern world. A good story with lots of realistic issues having to be dealt with and not everything going smoothly on the road to love and a future together. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
Her Cowboy Billionaire Beast: A Hammond Brothers Novel: A Christmas at Whiskey Mountain Lodge Book 4 is by Liz Isaacson. The Hammond brothers, Wes, Colton, Gray, Cy, and Ames were all given a large sum of money when they were eighteen; but they were expected to do something special with the money to help others and not to waste it. Instead, they were to increase their assets. Cy had put his money into building motorcycles for Vets. The motorcycles were designed specifically for a particular Vet and given to him. He had built his company in California instead of Colorado where the family was. Now, he has to move as his lease has run out and won’t be renewed. He decides on Coral Canyon, Wyoming where his brother Colton had moved and where Patsy Foxhill was. Cy considers himself the black sheep of the family. Wes had been CEO of Hammond Industries until recently, Colton was a scientist, Gray was a lawyer, and Ames was a police officer. Cy was the only one who hadn’t gone to college and all he did was build motorcycles. However, Patsy sees something in him that attracts her. However, she won’t leave Coral Canyon because of the family apple farm. She wants to run it and had worked on it all her life until her Dad gave it to her sister Betty. As the oldest, Betty was entitled to run it. However, she isn’t going a good job of it and they are in danger of losing it all. As she fights for the farm, Cy fights for his identity and possibly his sanity. Will things work out for the two of them or are their problems too big to overcome?
I loved this story. There are so many people that suffer with mental health issues and don't think they need to seek treatment because they would then have a label placed on their head. Cy and his twin Ames have deep feelings with something is seriously wrong with the other. Cy has been dealing with anxiety and panic attacks for a few years now and he has been able to deal with them on his own. We all take things from past relationships and bring them into current one even though it has nothing to do with the person you are seeing now. And that can create a lot of issues in this relationship. But can you ever get past the past so you can move forward? When he moves to Coral Canyon and meets Patsy he is instantly attracted. Thing go great until they don't because Patsy has her own issues with accepting gifts from a guy (especially expensive ones). When Cy breaks up with her, he spirals down into a really bad panic attack and when Ames calls him immediately to find out what is wrong he can't even talk. With help from his family and a therapist and medication he is able to function and keep his anxiety and panic at bay. Will Patsy be able to convince Cy to forgive her? Can she forgive the mean things that Cy said to her when he broke up with her? Will they be able to work through their issues together and make things work?
Aww, this was a realistic approach to romance because falling in love is filled with passion, wonder and angst as well as insecurity and uncertainty. For those of us who are "normal," love is just plain messy! For Cy Hammond, life is complicated, filled with highs and lows. His struggle to keep moving forward is difficult. (For those of us who struggle with mental health issues, Cy is our poster boy.) Patsy Foxhill seems to have it all: a good job, self-confidence and friends. But below the surface is an uncertain girl who is juggling too many balls, waiting for the day when everything comes crashing down. She is skittish about relationships because she has been burned badly. Yet when Cy and Patsy meet, there is an instant attraction. This book is the story of 2 flawed people who want to be loved but afraid to take the plunge. In short, there lives are messy! This is not an insta-love romance. Instead it builds over time. Cracks begin to appear in their facades as circumstances change. This author does not shy away from real life issues. Instead she spotlights these flaws, showing the readers that: 1) people make mistakes; 2) forgiveness is an essential part in a relationship; and 3) medications are sometimes necessary to one's mental health. A wonderful, emotional romance with a beautiful HEA message!
Her Cowboy Billionaire Beast, Christmas At Whiskey Mountain Lodge, A Hammond Brothers Novel, Book 4. Another year goes by with the new couple Patsy and Cy becoming close and Cy takes over for a few months as social director at the Lodge in Bree's place. Patsy had knew he had some issues but was not worried. She told him to control letting the beast come out of him. She knew he got really excited at times and sometimes he was depressed. She thought once his motorcycle shop and home was built and winter in Wyoming was over he would be better. Patsy is also going through some emotional turmoil with her family, especially her sister Betty for ownership of the apple orchards. She wanted to bring them back making a sizable profit like they used to be. While she is going through all of this with Betty, Cy decides that it was time to break up as she could never just say thank you for a gift like the extra orchards on his side of the road he wanted her to have. We also meet baby Michael, Wes and Bree's baby, and baby Jane, the new addition to Elise and Gray's family. They enjoy another special Christmas Eve at Whiskey Mountain Lodge with the Whittaker family and friends, and the Hammond's that live in Coral Canyon are leaving by plane to spend a week in Colorado with the Hammond family starting Christmas Day. It should be a great homecoming for their parents and Grams.
Liz Isaacson continues the Hammond Brothers: Christmas at Whiskey Mountain Lodge with Her Cowboy Billionaire Beast and the story of Cy Hammond. Cy was the brother that went his own way and always felt like the brother that wasn’t part of the family. He knew they loved him but tolerated him more than anything. While his brothers moved to Whiskey Mountain and found their true loves, Cy didn’t think that would happen to him since he wasn’t looking for a relationship. He was happy (or thought he was) building motorcycles for veterans and living in California. While visiting Whiskey Mountain Lodge for Christmas with his family, he meets Patsy who worked at the lodge. Getting off on the wrong foot proved to be what these to wounded people needed. Getting to where they didn’t really want to go (or so they kept telling themselves) was a challenge. But when they came to the finished line, it was well worth it. This was a ‘one more chapter and then I’ll go to bed’ story that had me staying up until 4 in the morning just to finish that ‘one more chapter.’ I can’t wait for the next book in this series!!!
I like that the characters in this book have real life problems. I really felt for Cy and was glad to see him reach out for professional help as well as turning to his faith.
Patsy's relationship with her family was sad. I never was really sure what Betsy's issue was with Patsy or the orchard. Was it jealousy, control, or something else? It wasn't completely clear to me, and seemed to resolve itself more behind the scenes then out in the open. The relationship seemed to be suddenly better.
With Cy working to resolve his issues and Patsy turning to her faith and her friends for help with hers, they were able to fully express their feelings.
A positive, uplifting story full of love, faith, and the support of friends and family. Also included was being able to revisit and get updates on characters from previous books.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received from the author.
I really enjoyed reading this book, but I struggled some in the beginning. This is the first book in this series for me, and I spent the first few chapters trying to figure out who's who in the cast of characters. Once that happened, it was easy reading from then on. Cy and Patsy, as different as they are, have a few things in common - both of them feel like outsiders in their families. They both feel broken... Cy, because of his illness, can be a beast at times. And Patsy, because of her past in choosing loser boyfriends, has some self-esteem issues. And they're both hardheaded. His mental illness - depression and anxiety - and road to recovery are handled in a sensitive and compassionate manner. One of the things I like most about Patsy is her complete acceptance of Cy's illness once he's honest with her. And in the end, faith and love conquer all.

Cy made my heart hurt. He’s dealing with so much and his brain and body chemistry are making things even more difficult for him. I love the way this book shows Cy’s struggle as a mirror to that of so many other people. Patsy has a heap of her own baggage to deal with, making this an unlikely pairing. But, what they learn from each other is how to be strong, how to be better people, how to take those first steps toward achieving their heart’s desires. One of the things I appreciate so much about this story is that it shows love and faith as important components of healing along with dedicated professional assistance; that none of these things would work as effectively alone. I’ve only just finished this book, but already I’m anxious to read about the remaining single Hammond brother. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
A compassionate story of the struggles many face with self- worth, anxiety and depression. Everyone brings issues and struggles into a relationship. Some affect the individual person most. Others affect not only the individuals but people around them. Some can be dealt with, some can be managed and some cause untold damage. Cy lost his lease on his building in California so he moved close to his family in Coral Canyon relocating his business there. He didn’t think about how that would affect his ability to ride his motorcycle whenever he felt his anxiety and depression building. When they would build he growled and snapped at anyone and everyone. His brothers worried about him and encouraged him to get help but he didn’t want it. Patsy has managed the lodge for the Whitakers making sure everything runs like clockwork but it isn’t the job she dreamed of. Her dream job was managing her family’s apple orchard but that job is being done very poorly by her oldest sister. How can she explain the situation to her father, finally stand up to her sister who is always critical and rescue the farm before it is ruined? As both of them deal with the issues in their lives and how those issues affect them, will they be able to make a relationship work or will their issues consume them? I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Patsy and Cy have both had previous relationships that ended badly. As they get to know each other, they are very careful to not repeat former patterns, want to take it slow, and are cautious to not fall in love too fast to avoid more hurts and heartbreaks. Regrettably, their new behavior gets in the way… At the beginning of the story, I did not understand why Cy was so afraid of the impact his anxiety could have on his relationship, but this specific issue got revealed over time. I liked the fact that the strong and hero-like character has such real-life problems, making him so much more approachable. The humanness of the characters was refreshing. Having several brothers, I could particularly relate to the feeling of loving your brothers though they are the persons that can annoy you the most at the same time ☺.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Billionaire Cy is reinventing his life. He moves his motorcycle shop where his brothers live. He has lifelong mental illness issues that can have him acting like a “beast” when he loses control. He is so self conscious about his disorder that he doesn’t share so others can understand what he is experiencing. Patsy excels at her job at the lodge but her heart is with the family apple orchard being mismanaged by her sister. Can two people going in different directions work? I commend Liz for addressing mental illnesses and going through the process of successful treatment options available. It’s not something to be ashamed of. Well written! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
Cy Hammond owned a motorcycle shop in California and when the building was sold he moved to a different location where the weather was colder but the land prices were better. Patsy worked for the Whittikers at their guest ranch and when she met Cy everything changed for her. Her family owned an apple orchard but her father was under going chemo for cancer and could not look after the farm any more so his older daughter did for awhile until Patsy took it over and brought it back into the red. I love to read all the books in the series by Liz Isaacson. She is a very great writer and the books are always great to read. This one I read in one day it was so good I could not put it down. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
Cy life was a very hard life to deal with, having anxiety is very hard to deal with on everyday of life’s ups and down. You do become a roaring beast instead of the gentle bear you usually are. This story was so well put together, Cy admits to his problem while falling in love with Patsy. He does his best to keep himself calm. But bam, Patsy had to throw him off of the cliff, he broke up with her and his twin brother gets him to get professional help which he knew he needed a long time ago. Now Cy has gotten help, been put on medication ( which was changed a few times) and Cy has become the calmer Cy. Patsy wants him back so she does what she needs to do to show him she is in love with Cy! Read it to see how it goes being a different Cy to a different Patsy.
Cy is the youngest Hammond, he lost the building he used for his motorcycle business and moved to Coral Canyon, to be near his brothers. He has lots of issues, he's very anxious and needs a rubber band to help when he has bad moments. He met Patsy at Colton's wedding, as she worked with Bree. She's had bad luck with her previous boyfriends and has issues about them, she's also not happy that her sister is running the family apple orchard into the ground. Things seem to progress well until Cy feels that Patsy isn't making an effort to compromise. Will they get back together? Can they overcome their differences?
Cy and Patsy are two people, who think that they do not really fit into their family, they are not fully accepted, although it is not true for either.. Although the attraction for each other is strong, there is the underlying issue with their family, and a deep depression Cy is fighting. From their first date to finally come together as an engaged couple - it is a difficult, but interesting road. The story is a little unusual and a little deeper than many of the others, as we see a man struggle with his depression and finally reaching out for help. A good story, well-written and entertaining. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Christmas at Whiskey Mountain Lodge just keeps getting better! Cy and Patsy’s story begins when Cy asks Patsy out during the annual Christmas Eve celebration—over the intercom—accidently! Their love story has some rocky patches. Patsy wants to save her family legacy. Cy deals with anxiety and panic attacks. These characters are not perfect, they have flaws, and Liz Isaacson weaves a great love story that deals with these problems. I love the way that the characters in this series are more mature (older) and that they always turn to God to find their answers. Don’t miss this clean, inspiring romance from Liz Isaacson!
Can Forever 💞 Happen to the Youngest Hammond Brother? 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Liz Isaacson's Excellent 4th "Hammond Brothers Novel" is, "Her Cowboy Billionaire Beast". This Western, Christian Romance is about Patsy (Whiskey Mountain Lodge's General Manager), and Cy Hammond. They each feel like an outcast from their respective family. Only God can bring this Custom Motorcycle Builder's emotions from a Beast into a healthy Balance. Only God can give Patsy her Dream Job. I Highly Recommend You Read this Story to see how God brings Patsy and Cy to their Forever 💞! I found it to be a Wonderful, Inspirational, and Engrossing Story! ❤️📖

Pasty loves her family's orchard, but her sister is letting it go. Can she stand up to her sister's pride, so she can manage it? Cy wants to make his motorcycle shop for vets work in the Rockies. Will it be as successful as his one in California? Can these two let go of their stubborn independence to build something beautiful together? Read and find out:) Wonderful characters with a fabulous story to tell! Buckle up and enjoy the ride:)
This was a wonderful story featuring Cy Hammonds. He was the youngest of the twins, Cy and Ames being the oldest by five minutes. Cy lived in California, and he built motorcycles, and especially, ones for Vets. His lease ran out and he had to move his business. His brothers Colt and Wes lived in Coral Cannon and they encouraged him to come and look at property there. He arrived at Christmas time and went to the lodge to see his family visiting for Christmas. That’s where he met Patsy, she was manager of the lodge. He asked her out that day. Their love story begins, was not filled with easy sailing but love prevailed. Enjoy.
I absolutely love the way your books tackle real life issues. This one dealing with mental health issues was really good. The funny thing for me is I've realized that I too, use a focus crutch. Mine is a scrunchie that is always on my arm, I just never realized it until this book and a movie I just watched. Thank you for so many wonderful stories and for sharing this family. Cy is blessed with a huge support system that, although overwhelming sometimes, love each other unconditionally. Can't lie, there were many times I wanted to smack Patsy!! Lol Thanks Liz, onto Ames now!
I enjoyed Cy's and Patsy's story. It's mixed with humor (when Cy accidentally asks Patsy out to dinner with the speaker system on), real life issues, and the loving support group the Hammond brothers and Whiskey Lodge friends provide. Cy's lost a girlfriend and then his cycle shop in CA and is looking for a new location to set down roots. Patsy's distressed by the disrepair her family apple farm has gone into since her sister has taken over, but she's afraid to speak up and take over. Both Cy and Patsy have emotional baggage and struggles. I like the way Cy and Patsy encourage each other on the way to their HEA and wholeheartedly recommend this clean cowboy romance.
Exactly as I've come to expect from Liz Isaacson, this was a wonderful story of the growth of love, overcoming challenges, and faithful living. This one was particularly meaningful to me because I could relate in a more personal way. Thank you, Liz, for tackling the difficulty of life when you or your loved one fights with anxiety, depression, and panic attacks. And thank you, too, for treating this situation faithfully...that it's not something that just goes away, but there is help. If you enjoy faith-filled romance with well-crafted characters, then you'll want to read this book.
I borrowed this from KU on a friend's recommendation, after starting it, I found myself lost as I tried to follow a thread that had started at least one series prior. I found book 1 of the Christmas at Whiskey Mountain Lodge series, only to discover I was still lost - so I found the Whittaker Brothers series. I enjoyed every one of the 11 or more books leading up to this one, restarted this one and found it made total sense. I'm now off to read book 5 in the series. Then I'm going back to find the Three Rivers series as I have a feeling one of the brothers may have had a cameo in this book.
The fourth book in the Christmas at Whiskey Mountain Lodge series a well written story with a very good storyline, I was not putting this book down until I finished it. Cowboy billionaire Cy Hammond moves to Coral Canyon, but he has a lot from his past that he has to let go of, and is not the nicest person to know. He has some big problems to overcome. He meets Patsy Foxhill and they do not get off to a great start. I enjoyed seeing this story come together, Cy's problems were handled with care. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Patsy has had interaction with Cy Hammond on several occasions and felt drawn to him but he didn't really notice Patsy. When Cy moved to town that eventually changed in a big way. As things progressed she asked him to not be "a beast" as sometimes he came across as as less than cordial. Cy has been battling severe anxiety most of his life and the fear of losing Patsy has him coming close to the edge. Can their relationship withstand the problems or will this be another beastly break-up for Cy and Patsy?
Christmas with the Whitakers is different every year. Cy Hammond is there this year and meets Patsy Cooke. Patsy is the events planner for the Whiskey Mountain Lodge that is owned by the Whitakers. After a really rough past – for both Cy and Patsy – they decide that maybe they can take time to get to know each other. She has an obstinate sister who likes to control everything even though she doesn’t do a very good job of it. He has brothers who want to be in his business all the time. Will past situations with exes play into this relationship? Oh yeah!
