You fucking own me, Mercy.” He presses his forehead to mine. “I never expected to feel about anyone like I do about you.”

Actual footage of unsuspecting me thinking I'm reading the conclusion of what I thought was a trilogy

Talk about your jaw dropping cliffhanger. Good lord!

I'm not even mad here since this means I get one more book with Gabriel. Bring it on, Nina West. Bring. It. On.

The third installment in this addictive series brought plenty of action and so many twists and turns, my head was spinning when I finished.

We finally get to see the softer side of Gabriel come out in this book and I was so here for it. Watching this man fall hard for Mercy was one of the most delicious experiences. He's the ultimate bad boy. And considering he essentially bribes Mercy into being with him, it's almost poetic justice to see him fall so hard for her.

Mercy is still coming to grips with her feelings for him. Here's a man on the wrong side of the law, a playboy that doesn't even say the word commitment, let alone live it, and he can't seem to get enough of her. With each day, she sees a different side of him.

But this installment was so much more than the blooming romance. Everything comes to a head for the two brothers here and the plot twists that happen? Mind. Blown. Holy cow! I didn't see any of them coming but I don't think I've ever been so invested in a story. I'm absolutely dying to see how everything ends after that jaw dropping ending.

On a side note, am I the only one feeling the vibes between Merrick and Caleb? Because holy mother of ovaries, I'm going to need a book for them. I was already invested in all things Caleb. You know I love me a bad boy manwhore. But add Merrick into the mix and I'm done. DONE. I need this to happen.

But back to business for this book. This was another unputdownable installment of a sinfully sizzling series and I absolutely cannot wait for the conclusion!

Mercy and Gabriel, book 3 of 4

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎🌍
Character development: 😊😄😘😍
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Mercy - her father is in prison and Gabriel is the only one who could help her protect him and hire him a good lawyer to get an appeal. He is in prison for murder, because he killed the man that tried to rape her. Though it was an accident. Then he was getting beat up in prison by the cousin of the man he killed. Mercy felt she had no other choice but to go along with what Gabriel wanted, if she wanted her dad to live. Though she promised both Gabriel and herself that her heart would never be involved.

The Hero: Gabriel - he and his brother Caleb are sons of a mob boss who is in prison for laundering money. In the three years since their father went to prison, they opened an exclusive nightclub that is very successful. They use their nightclub to launder money for their father and uncles drug business. However, both Gabriel and Caleb want to get out of the drug business and be legitimate. They don’t want to end up dead or in prison like their father.

The Story: Gabriel and Caleb have a plan to get out from under their family’s thumb and go legit like they have wanted for years. They are aligning themselves with two brothers from a former rival family (the family that raped and killed their mom when they were young). The two brothers also want to go legit. Their father is sick and has only a year to live but their oldest brother Miles is as bad or worse than their father, he was actually the one who brutally raped Gabriel and Caleb’s mother before their father put a bullet in her head. So, the four of them came up with a mutually beneficial plan in which Gabe and Caleb will kill Miles and the other two will hire someone to take out Gabriel and Caleb’s father in Prison.

There is also a plan to get Gabriel and Caleb’s father to hire out his deadliest hitman to kill their uncle who has been running the drug business while their father is in prison. They got evidence that the uncle was the one who ratted to the feds and got their father locked up to begin with. Meanwhile, Gabriel is trying his best to keep Mercy from getting too much information about what is going on because the more she knows, the more danger she might be in, and it is also very dangerous for him to tell her anything about the illegal business because he has only known her for a short time.

The last book had an explosive cliffhanger ending and this book started right away with a whole bunch of action and big things are happening. I don’t like the fact that the story of Gabriel and Mercy’s romance is told over four books. I would rather have two or three longer books, or one really long book. Especially in audiobook format. Though I do love that there is a lot of story, a lot of romance, and plenty of steam. The chemistry between this couple is terrific and I really like both characters. So much happened in this book, I can’t wait to find out what is next.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration and was narrated by Alex Kydd and Ada Sinclair. Alex Kydd is a good narrator; I like the voice he uses for Gabriel; it is kind of low and gravelly. He is great at using completely different sounding voices for other characters as well. Ada Sinclair has a soft, feminine voice which I really enjoyed.

Dirty Empire is book three of four in the Dirty Empire series. It was supposed to be the conclusion. But the author has added a fourth book.

This series is a continuing story. So you must have read Sweet Mercy and Gabriel Fallen first.

I would describe these books as dark romance, super sexy, mixed with some suspense.

The second book concluded with a thrilling cliffhanger ending. So I was anxious to see what would happen next. This book picks up shortly after where the last book left off.

The beginning summarizes how the last book ended. And it gives some reminders of what the previous books were about.

This series is written by one of my favorite authors, KA Tucker. This is much sexier and darker than her other books. This is not really my usual type of book. But I wanted to read the series because of the author.

As with the previous books this one has a dual male and female POV. I have liked Mercy since the first book. Although I still haven't fully embraced her relationship with Gabriel. I do understand why she got involved with him. But I don't really see how she could embrace the mob lifestyle.

As for Gabriel, he is definitely nicer than he was when the series started. But I don't know that I really like him yet. I am hopeful that by the end of the series I will love them as a couple. But I think that Gabriel would have to sacrifice something major for me to get there.

These books are short quick reads. There were definitely some interesting developments in Dirty Empire. However, I am not really used to the shorter format. But for readers who love quick reads filled with drama and a sexy theme then this will be perfect for them.

This book to me was a bit less sexy than the last one. The mob aspect is darkish. However when bad things happen they are not very graphic (which I appreciate).

There was a bit of a mystery to this book, which I liked. I love when books have big reveals. And this one had a couple. I try not to overthink things like this. However I do read a lot of thrillers. So sometimes things are obvious to me. Although I feel like for those who don't predict the reveals they would be incredible.

The book ends with a pretty big cliffhanger, which I loved. I am obsessed with great cliffhanger endings. Overall, I think that the last part of the book was the strongest. And I am very curious to see what happens next.

Fallen Empire the final book in the series is listed as September 2021 on amazon.

“I will never let anyone hurt you. They’ll die for even trying. Do you understand?”

If you enjoy mafia romance, then you will enjoy this series. Nothing else to say other than that. Some twists and turns in this one and now I need to get to book four.

Is it bad that I wish there was a Henry Wolf/Ronan appearance in this one as one of the others interested in buying out the hotel?! Anyway. Just want to mention Ronan, who isn’t even in this book, needs his own books. Ok bye.

Dirty Empire is the third installment in this four-book series and I absolutely adored seeing where this author took this story and I was beyond captivated in seeing the growth of the series here. I was so in tune with this romance and we just see so much from their romance and seeing it blossom in such beautiful ways. There is a forbidden love note to the story but it's slight, I did like seeing these two different people find their own way together in this one. Gabriel is working on getting out of the crime life and making everything legitimate, but his father wants to destroy what he has with Mercy. Seeing how devoted these two are for each other and how they are challenged in ways that you don't expect was quite unique. I really just wanted to see more of them and never wanted this story to end. I really was interested in seeing how this would develop and how they would reach their HEA. It did have an HFN feel to the end of the story but I have faith that this author will deliver that HEA in book four.

I was so happy when KA Tucker, writing as Nina West, announced that Dirty Empire was coming. I have been devouring Nina West's books since she released her first one, and I couldn't wait to get ahold of more words from her.
I have been highly invested in the lives of Mercy and Gabriel. The first two books in this series sucked me in, and I need to know what was going on in their lives! Dirty Empire picked up where Gabriel Fallen left us and took us for another wild, twisty ride. But AHHHHHH, the book left me hanging, and I need, Need, NEEED to know what is going to happen next. I am just sitting here anxiously awaiting the release of Fallen Empire! Because HOLY, I was not expecting the news we found out!! Not. At. All.
I loved that in this one, we got to see Mercy and Gabriel's relationship deepen. Neither of them expected this, but... oh boy did they fall for each other — deeply, quickly, and all in.
Secrets abound, and loyalties are tested in this fast-paced, sexy read that kept me on my toes throughout. Grab this series and get lost in the treacherous world that the Easton's occupy.
Oh… and bring on the conclusion, Fallen Empire! I can't wait!

Dirty Empire falls firmly into "meh" territory. I love, love, loved the first two books in the series and was all in on this couple. But the author decided to make this series a quartet instead of a trilogy and I think this book suffers as a result.

Book two ended with a wild cliffhanger, so I anticipated book three hitting the ground running with intensity. Instead, we skim over the direct fallout of the end of the previous book and pick back up with our characters hours later. For some reason.

The rest of Dirty Empire reads like a novella between two books of the actual series and does not stand alone as a full novel. Several plot points are setup to be dealt with in the next book, but very little actually happens in this one. The romance is virtually non-existent (despite being the bread and butter of the previous books) and the only "surprise" was painfully obvious from the outset.

I am still excited to read the actual conclusion to the series, but I'm bummed this wasn't it.

Ugh... I actually dont know where to start... i was so looking forward to this book.. the first two had been so good, and inticing.. and then just.. boom. Everything ruind. Too much complication, too much over dramatic, to much fu%&ing unnecessary shi*...

I almost DNF this book.. but I didnt want to, I wanted to give it a chance. It started out SO GOOD! and then 30% in, just disaster... I skimmed most of last part. And I mean skimmed.. I read a page, skipped 10. Read a page, skipped 5. And I will firmly say now, I won't be picking up the next book. This series is ruined and I'm over it. No thank you.

Here are some of my thoughts throughout reading it.

35% in - I am actually furious.. I almost want to close the book and say "fu$# you Mercy!" This is seriously uncool. He loves her, he has shown her nothing but love, respect and wanting to protect her and she sitting here like"i honestly think it's best I betray him" ... honestly? Right now? I wish a enemy would just head shot her.

50% - holt shit this fucking bitch I cant fuc$&ing stand her at the moment!!! He has done so much for her father, and for her, and she is still sitting here like "oh but he could be free, and gabriel in jail but oh my father, he could be free" blahblahblah.. I actually cant remember her being this annoying and honestly? Self centered and bratty... talk about only thinking about yourself...

60% Update... I ended up skipping like... idk.. 20 pages or so? I am actually mad.. honestly.. may seem dramatic but yeah.. personally? The author just ruined this whole thing for me now.. I'm about a hair away from putting the book down for good and just forget I ever read it....I'm so sad right now..

80% - seriously mercy? You just promised him you wouldn't say shit to Michelle, and here you are, blabbering about all the shit he's done?.. I mean, even I could see that she was a rat.. it's OBVIOUS, if you just got your head out of your ass!!!

Finished - ofc his dad is behind it all..and now she is kidnapped? You know what? I'm done with this shh.. omg, what happened to sticking to trilogies? Does everyone need to drag out and and make 27200 books about 1 couple? Ugh, I'm done. I mean it, I'm done. Good bye, won't be seeing you ever again.

First of all. WTF. I thought this was the last book of the series. Why does this happen with me!!! I hate CLIFFHANGERS 😭😭😭

Talking about the series , this was an amazing book! I have been reading this series from the moment the first book came and I was pretty obsessed with the characters and the storyline. The second book of the series concluded in a cliffhanger , so I jumped straight into this book as soon as it arrived on my Kindle.

What I loved the most was the transition of the characters in this story. Specially for Gabriel. I mean , I am all for Hot brooding heroes , but it was nice to see him acting a little nicely in this book😂. The plot of the story progresses quickly , and this was a bit of a short read for me , but enjoyable none the less. The mysterious aspect of the book was amazing for me and I loved being at the edge of my seat for the whole time!

A definite recommendation to all the Mafia Romance lovers! Gabriel is going to sweep you off your feet in mere seconds 😉.

Very well written series, as I have come to expect from K.A. Tucker, writing here as Nina West.
This is a major improvement over the Wolf Hotel series. I normally don't read series books, and I definitely stay away from Mafia/Biker Gang/BDSM/Criminal Bad Boy story lines. I refuse to idolize or romanticize criminals. Extreme and/or gratuitous violence are not welcome on my Kindle.
However, in this series, Mercy makes it very clear that she despises the source of Gabriel's wealth.
Gabriel wants to leave his "Dirty Empire" behind and make a life for himself and Mercy. He wants to deserve her. When I read that, I was so RELIEVED, because I really admire K.A. Tucker's writing style.

Was I dismayed to find that book 3 was in fact NOT the final book in this series? You bet!! Big time! But I got over it.

I can't promise that I will STAY interested in this series for another year. For example, a while back, I was completely entranced by the TV series, Killing Eve, but the second season took way too long to come out and I totally lost interest in it. There are far too many other interesting books, series and world events happening every day to capture our fleeting fickle attention.

A WHOLE YEAR!!! Will I even remember the plot? I'm not a spring chicken anymore!!!
Big sigh! For now, I am waiting with bated breath for the (hopefully!) final book in this series. That is the only reason this great read lost a point.

I thought this was a trilogy!! Dude. Now I am stinkin dying over here. I need that forth book STAT.

After that CRAZY conclusion of book two I was ready to see what happens next. Dirty Empire didn’t disappoint. There’s a definite mob/mafia feel with this one. More on the suspense side than the sexy side. But I’m not complaining cuz there was enough of everything to make me happy.

There’s two things I’m gonna need from the next book. I need to know what happened to Mercy and I’m gonna need a bit more of Caleb and Merrick. I mean, holy hotness, Batman. Those two are fierce.

I am so happy we get to see this saucy side of KA Tucker. I love when my favorite authors branch out and try new genres. Keep them coming!!

PERFORMANCE REVIEW:
Ada Sinclair & Alex Kydd are still killing it with their narration! I’m looking forward to listening to more romance fiction these two have narrated in the future!

STORY REVIEW: Dirty Empire is the third installment in Gabriel and Mercy’s journey and reveals are still happening, twist and turns are running amok, and I am here for ALL OF IT!! Every choice the author made for not just the romance in this story but also the crime-life plot-point was pure perfection, in my opinion. There is so much growth to Mercy and Gabriel as a couple and as individuals that I am just stupefied over it all. This story is intricately crafted and every twist and turn is like a domino puzzle. Thinking back on not just this installment but the story as a whole from the very beginning, and I am just awed and impressed. I honestly have no idea how any reader waited for each one of these installments LOL I am that invested in seeing exactly how these two will live happily ever after!!

Sidenote: Holy mother of all twists at the end of this little gem. *MIND BLOWN*

After the events of Gabriel Fallen, Gabriel and Caleb are even more desperate to leave the family business, but things just got more complicated.

Dirty Empire’s focus is mostly on Gabriel and Caleb’s plan to leave the family business, so there aren’t a lot of one on one scenes between Gabriel and Mercy, until the end. West has this knack of delivering incredibly sensual scenes in the final pages of her novels. This scene in Dirty Empire is easily the best of the series so far.

For the majority of Dirty Empire, Mercy struggles with her deepening feelings for Gabriel and his crime life. Mercy’s loyalty is tested and West’s compelling writing had me questioning Mercy’s ultimate decision. These situations are fairly easy to read, however for a second I wasn’t so sure.

There’s a bit of a mystery component to a Dirty Empire that I enjoyed immensely and did not see the reveal coming. Perhaps had I not been so enamored with Mercy and Gabriel, I would have seen it coming.

Overall, Dirty Empire is more plot focused so it’s more action driven. I can’t wait to see what West has in store for us in the final instalment, Fallen Empire!

OMG! SO GOOD! I did not realize there will be another book to the Dirty Empire series but I am not upset about it. Gabriel and his brother Caleb is still fighting for freedom from their father. Someone wants them dead and the brothers is yet to find to who are their friends and foes. Mercy began to learn more about Gabriel past. She is conflicted because the man she is fallen in love with is trying to change but maybe Gabriel is in too deep. Gabriel’s past come back with a vengeance. This book is action packed, drama and suspense at every turns. What supposed to be celebratory trip for Mercy turned into a huge nightmare. The FBI is determined to bring down Gabriel and Caleb. They have collateral's and Lord I did not see the twist coming. The mole revealed itself – completely unexpected. Another cliffy ending and this one is THE worst. I was literally hyperventilating. Mercy is in trouble big time. I am dying to find out what happens next. This series is seriously addicting!!!! Highly recommended.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!
When this book picked up right where book 2 left us, it didn't stop until the last page AND then it decided that the cliffhanger in book 2 wasn't enough, that it had to one up it...
I am going to die waiting for book 4...
I MUST KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!

I have flown through these books. They are deliciously good with a story line that totally captivates you.
I seriously can't put them down and Dirty Empire was no different. I truly read it in one sitting because I was so enthralled.

I absolutely loved how so much transpired in Gabriel and Mercy's relationship during this book. We saw a lot of change in Mercy and it really propelled their relationship to the next level.
And Gabriel, ahhhh...he really showed a soft side to him in this book but we still saw that hardcore guy that will do anything to take care of his loved ones.

I hate that I read this book so fast because now I am having to wait for the next installment. And Nina West sure killed me with that ending...Oh man...

Gabriel and his brother find themselves in a battle for their lives as they face threats from inside the organization and from law enforcement. The one thing that Gabriel does know is that he will do whatever is necessary to protect Mercy and be the man she needs him to be.

Mercy is conflicted as she loves Gabriel with her whole heart but accepting his life and the choices that he makes is another matter. With every new challenge that they face her strength and resilience shines through and shows us why she and Gabriel are a force to be reckoned with.

This story takes us on a wild ride filled with surprises you don’t see coming, drama that pulls you in and the chemistry between them burns hotter than ever and now we just need to wait for the next book in the series to see what the future holds.

The third book in the Empire Nightclub series, and we’re deep in the world of organised crime. This book is a direct continuation of the first two books of the series, and should not be read as a standalone.

After meeting under less-than-romantic circumstances, Gabriel and Mercy are truly falling for each other, and their lives are becoming more and more intertwined. After the explosive ending to the last book, they’re in Vegas for Gabriel and his brother, Caleb, to continue their mission to get free of their crime-lord father and start a straight life. But the FBI is closing in, and Gabriel’s father is still pulling strings from his prison cell, and he’s willing to go to any length to prove just how much control he still has over his son’s lives.

Ooohh, it’s all starting to happen now! The romance is strong, the drama is intense, and things are building to a head as we approach the final book of the series. I love how Gabriel and Mercy have fallen so effortlessly together in the middle of it all. Their wild passion for each other is now full of emotion, and while Mercy still battles with the realities of Gabriel’s life, she cannot deny her feelings. And Gabriel is wearing his heart on his sleeve, and I loved it!

“You fucking own me, Mercy.” He presses his forehead to mine. “I never expected to feel about anyone like I do about you.”

Most of the action in this book takes place external to the love story, and there’s lots going on. The line between good and bad is blurry, and there is mystery, drama, and devastating betrayal. It's a fast-paced story, which ends on another brutal cliffhanger, and I’m diving straight into the next book.

3.5 stars.

This is the third book in the Empire Nightclub series and wow was it intense!!! While I felt the first two were more smutty than anything else, this was full of suspense as it dove into the Easton family drama and life born into the drug cartel business. The push and pull between Mercy and Gabriel brought all the angst and tension. I loved seeing their relationship turn from the casual hookup to love, and the lengths Gabriel went to protect her was everything. Onto the final book because that cliffhanger ending …

Twisted and Sexy Romance - another great addition to Mercy and Gabriel’s Story - 4.5 Stars!

“I swear to you, as long as I’m breathing, no one will ever hurt you.”

The twisted tale of Mercy and Gabriel’s hot and heavy love affair continues and I am here for it!! Dark truths, back stabbing and lies are the center of this story, a drug empire is on the line so you know things are going to get a little violent and Mercy is unfortunately now in the middle of it all. Her former quiet life is no more and she wars with herself over falling for a man capable of such deplorable acts. Even though she has finally found someone that makes her feel alive again, her acceptance and love of Gabriel’s faults made me shake my head a few times. He is a good man at heart but was raised into a world that is unforgiving and anyone associated with him is a liability.

“Gabriel has my heart, whether or not I want to give it to him.”

With her heart torn over a man she never thought she’d love and a life she swore she’d never be involved in, Mercy’s world will never be the same. Gabriel is definitely that alpha male that will do anything to protect his woman, no matter the cost. When Mercy is put in the line of danger, Gabriel really stepped up and wanted to truly alter his ways and legitimize his businesses. I applauded his need for change and the internal struggle with the choices he is faced with. When the twisted arrangement between him and Mercy turns into something more, he is faced with the fact that there is more to life that money. And OH BOY - I didn’t see that coming- the love affair for Mercy and Gabriel isn’t over yet, we are left with another doozy of a cliffhanger!

Dirty Empire was supposed to be the final book in the trilogy but we found out shortly before it released that there would be a fourth book. I'm so glad I saw this announcement because I would have been floored when I read this ending!⁣

Things I loved:⁣
✔️ Since book 2, Gabriel Fallen, ended in a huge cliffhanger, I was relieved when we got the outcome fairly quickly. ⁣
✔️ Dual POVs - always my preference since I like to know what both characters are thinking.⁣
✔️ This was a quick read! Also, it's darker and steamier than normal K.A. Tucker books. For those that don't know, she writes these under the name Nina West.⁣
✔️ We get a little more mob activity in this book. Loved that part!⁣

There were a few twists that I found predictable but reading a lot of crime fiction over the years will do that. There's another cliffhanger in this one so I'm hoping we get the final book sooner rather than later. I'm completely invested in Mercy and Gabriel now and NEED to know how their story ends!

3.5 stars rounded up to 4.⁣
