I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the 8th installment of the "Off The Grid: FBI Series" and can be read as a standalone novel.

Jax is an FBI agent working undercover as a bartender at a Russian club and he becomes distracted by a young woman, Maya, who is wandering an area that is off-limits. She explains to him that she needs to speak to one of the patrons in the private area. She gets access and her questions set-off a chain of events that puts her life in danger. Jax is thrust in the mix and he soon learns that his case is intertwined with Maya's inquiries, which has put his life in danger. There are a couple of storylines that merge together that collides with a big finale and you're left guessing until the very end.

I'm such a fan of this author and always look forward to the fast-paced stories that she turns out. This did not disappoint and look forward to more of the series.

My review of Barbara Freethy #FearlessPursuit

This was such a gripping story. Not only were Jax and Maya fantastic characters, the story was really complex and fascinating. Freethy’s books are always well developed and her characters jump of the page. There was so much going on, but, as a reader, you never felt as if the story was losing the flow, or becoming too complicated. Jax was a great hero, though there were sometimes I was shouting at him to tell Maya the truth. Maya was a tough heroine, someone who knew what she wanted and even though she faced strong opposition from those who loved her, she stood firm in finding out the truth.

Another fabulous book in the Off Grid series, and can’t wait for the next one. I never need to worry when I pick up a Barbara Freethy Book. I know I’m in safe hands

Fearless Pursuit will leave you breathless. Book 8 in Barbara Freethy’s FBI series keeps the tension level high as undercover FBI agent Jax’s investigation becomes entangled with wannabe film maker Maya’s search for the truth about her grandmother’s suicide. Natasha was a famous actress whose life ended far too young, but it quickly becomes apparent that Maya’s questions have put a target on her back and Jax must step up to protect her. All of this author’s books are well written with vivid characters that make her books difficult to put down unfinished. This one will leave readers guessing until the very end who was involved and what the motivation was. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. Most highly recommend.

Freethy is not for the faint of heart. There's always a twist waiting to be explored. Always a heartache waiting to be healed. Always a thrill waiting to be had. Fearless Pursuit refuses to back down when it comes to getting your attention. Jax and Maya pull readers into a page turner that encompasses the past, present and future. It's complicated, emotional, captivating and unpredictable, but then the most haunting love stories usually are.

Another wonderful book by Barbara. The glitz and glamour of old Hollywood collides with and FBI investigation and a woman searching for truth. I liked Maya for the most part. She was strong and determined and willing to risk it all to figure out what happened to her grandmother. Jax is a great character, although I wish there had been more of his family in the story. I didn’t love all the additional characters while trying to figure out what happened. I just never seemed to love or hate any of them. Still, a great story overall

It's an amazing book!
Such great characters & an intriguing
story line. It flowed seamlessly that I couldn’t put it down...I loved every page.
Jax, an FBI agent, is working undercover
at the recently re-opened Russian
nightclub.
Maya, had been given her late grandmother's journals. Her grandfather suspected that was more to Natasha's death.
Jax & Maya, met when they were both
searching for the truth. The emotions
& their chemistry pulled me in.
A PAGE-TURNER!!

Just when I think this FBI series can’t get better, Barbara Freethy proves me wrong again! I’ve enjoyed all of these books, & Jax and Maya’s story is no exception. Family intrigue, Russian Spies, Old Hollywood Glamour & modern day challenges bring this mystery & love story to life. You will enjoy this book, whether you’ve read any of the previous ones or not. But my guess is that after reading this one, you will know you should get the rest, if you haven’t already. Thanks Barbara for another great read!

Fearless Pursuit by Barbara Freethy is the next (8th) book in the series called Off the Grid: FBI. Each book in the series can be a stand alone but as a series you get to have a deeper understanding of the special nature of the group of FBI agents. THis book focuses on Jax Kenin and his journey to love and understanding.

Jax Kenin works for the FBI as an undercover agent. His ability to speak Russian allowed him to gain a job at a high end exclusive club called The Russian House. He was trying to infiltrate a ring of people who were shady and committing crimes. Little did he know the level of corruption and how far the elements of that corruption went.

Maya Ashton wanted to find out what really happened to her grandmother Natasha. She knows there is a story in it that could lead to a movie about her Grandmother’s lifes. Her father didn’t want her to look into anything. He didn’t want to know as he was still not interested in learning why his mother didn’t love him.

May’s questions interfere with Jax’s investigation and he thinks helping her will eventually help his case. WOW did that case turn into a twisted story of deceptions and crime. Maya and Jox have a lot to figure out including their attraction to each other. Fearless Pursuit by Barbara Freethy was a good read - hang on to your seats.

This is another exciting book in the Off the Grid FBI series. Ms. Freethy has such a writing gift that the characters come alive and you feel like you are part of the story. This story is about Russian spies that encompass the past as well as the present. I felt bad that Maya felt like she didn’t belong in her family. I was glad when she told her grandfather she would help find out what really happened to her Russian grandmother that she was so much like. Luckily Jax was with the FBI undercover in the Russian club working to bring down a Russian spy ring. This is where the two meet and begin an adventure together bringing to light secrets, lies, and deaths. I loved the twists and turns that I didn’t expect in the story. I was so happy Maya had Jax to lean on during this adventure. I didn’t want to put the book down! I strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.

Fearless Pursuit is the eight book in the Off The Grid: FBI Series, but it can be read as a standalone. As usual, Barbara Freethy has crafted an intriguing story with interesting characters, plenty of mystery and suspense, and twist and turns that will have readers wondering what will happen next.

Jax and Maya are great together. I really like how Jax supports Maya's dream of making a movie about her grandmother's life, all while secretly trying to keep her safe. I also enjoyed getting to see characters from the previous books again. I liked how they all quickly jumped in to help Jax when he needed it, and how easily they accept Maya into their group.

This is another enjoyable romantic suspense from this author, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

ARC for honest review with no compensation

Fearless Pursuit is book 8 in Off the Grid: FBI series by Barbara Freethy and another awesome read !!

Up next in this series is Special Agent Jax Kenin and Maya Ashton looking to make a movie about her grandmother, Natasha Petrova.

What happens next I will keep your turning pages to find out what happens around the next bend with lots of twists, turns, suspense, asking to many questions only to find less answers and more questions, Russian spy ring, seeing old friends from prior books and finding the truth...about their past and who they are now...

Barbara Freethy has done it again. Fearless Pursuit, her new book is filled with tension and excitement from the first page on. This is a story that you will not want to put down. I ended up reading all day and then kept waking up at night so I could read more. Jax is an undercover FBI agent and Maya is searching for clues on the death of her great aunt so she can make a movie about her. They come together to solve more than one mystery. Ms. Freethy writes convoluted mysteries that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Loved it.

I love the FBI seres! Jax and Maya's story is pure adrenaline rush from the start! Jax is under cover Maya walks into the bar that is part of his cover. Both are investigating the same people but for far different reasons. When they find places where Mac's investigation and Mayas research intersect, they work together to bring down a spy ring, and in the process find each other too.

I couldn't put this book down. I highly recommend it!

This is one of the best series I have read. Jax and Maya's story is full of mysteries, intrigue, and twists that you will never expect. When Maya shows up in the middle of Jax's undercover operation he just needs to get her out of the way. How their lives come together makes this a page turned you find hard to put down.

This series follows a team of FBI agents that went to Quantico together. This book does mention characters from previous books, but this story can totally be fully enjoyed as a standalone.

Jax is an FBI agent and he is working undercover to help take down a possible Russian ring. He is planted in this OP because he has Russian heritage and he can speak Russian. As the investigation procedes, Jax becomes a bartender at a Russian club and his investigation starts to unfold and actually mix in with another murder mystery that a civilian is trying to solve. Maya's grandmother's death and life is a mystery and Maya wants to unfold her grandmother's life and find out the truth to how she died. She was led to the Russian House and she has decided to interview all the people that were mentioned in her grandmother's journal. What really happens is that Maya opens a hornets nest. These people are not to be messed with and her questioning them has started events that can be harmful to her and others. Jax sees this all happening and he has to get Maya out of his way in order to complete his case and not blow his cover to her or any of the possible suspects.

Two cases to solve, one girl with determination to find truth, one undercover FBI agent and a whole lot of twists and turns in these cases. Jax is used to lieing when needed to do his job, but when those lies come close to him, how will he handle that? Will Maya uncover lies from decades ago to find the truth about her grandma? These questions get answered in this great mystery/detective story. Great plot, wonderful characters and eventually a HEA. I don't want to give anything away, but a lot of action happens in their journey for truth and justice!

A decades’ old death and a current day illegal drug organization…what’s the connection?
Maya Ashton is looking into the death of her grandmother. Natasha Petrova was born in Russia but was sent to America penniless and alone. Her beauty earned her a place on the silver screen. But her death by a drug over dose doesn’t seem to mesh with the woman Maya read about. And now that she has her grandmother’s diaries, she is trying to find out what really happened all those years ago.
Special Agent Jax Kenin is trying to track down a connection between a high-end car dealership and a local night club. The death of his informant results in Jax going undercover as a bartender in the Firebird Club.
Both Jax and Maya are on a mission to find the truth. What IS the connection between a high-end car dealership, the Firebird lounge and the illegal drug trade? Jax figures the only chance he has to get to the bottom of his case is to help Maya discover the real circumstances of her grandmother’s death. In doing so, he can keep her safe and get her out of the club. But when the two lines of inquiry merge into one, the find themselves working together to untangle the truth.
Barbara Freethy’s books never disappoint. Her plot line is electric. I can feel the energy pulsing through the story. And her characters are so believable. Each book in the series pulls the reader deeper and deeper into the lives of the agents.

I’ve read almost every ok that Barbara Freethy has written. My favorite books are those with a mystery to solve. The books in the Off the Grid series are some of my favorites. They involve the FBI investigating a case and always a romance results throughout the story. Even though this is the 8th book in the series it can be read without reading the others. However I do recommend reading them all to get to know the characters that appear in many of the books in the series.

In this book Maya has been asked by her grandfather to investigate her grandmother’s death that happened 36 years ago. The cause of death was determined to be suicide. Her grandmother was born in Russia and came to the U.S. and became a famous actress. Maya begins her investigation at an old Russian club where she meets Jax. Jax is the bartender but is really an FBI agent. Maya gets in the way of his investigation so he teams up with her so she does not sabotage it. Of course sparks fly and now Jax is in a dilemma since he cannot reveal his true identity.

There are many twists and turns to the plot until the surprise ending is revealed. This is a great read and a great addition to the Off the Grid series. Can’t wait until the next book!

What a Wild Exciting Ride

Fearless Pursuit #8 in the Off the Grid: FBI Series by Barbara Freethy. What can I say Barbara has done it again! This is another remarkable book by her and it will have you on the edge of your seat not wanting to put it down. Be ready for a late night.

The story and the characters are well written. Jax an FBI agent is working undercover at a Russian nightclub. Maya is searching for the truth about her grandmother’s suicide. They meet and twists and turns start. This is a fast paced, suspenseful story that will keep you turning the pages.

I highly recommend you read this book and all the rest of the books in this series as you will not be disappointed. Barbara’s writing just keeps getting better and better, she amazes me every time with the quality of her stories. I am so looking forward to the next book she writes.

In this eighth book of her Off The Grid FBI series, author Barbara Freethy continues to show us why she is such an excellent romantic suspense writer. FEARLESS PURSUIT opens with action and doesn’t let up.

Jax Kenin is an FBI agent undercover in a hot club when in walks Maya Ashton, an aspiring filmmaker who thinks members of the club hold answers to her grandmother’s mysterious death 30-plus years ago. While Jax tries to keep Maya’s investigation from messing up his own, the two are drawn together when the cast of key players for each overlap so much.

Mixed into this action-adventure story are both Jax and Maya learning about themselves — who they are and how their pasts affect them today. This is where Freethy excels as she writes complex characters whom we want to know.

Add in her trademarks twists and turns and Freethy has another hit on her hands.

Note, you can enjoy FEARLESS PURSUIT without reading any of the earlier Off the Grid books. You’ll see characters from those books as peripheral investigators but you won’t be lost in earlier plot points that are integral to the current case.

Barbara Freethy never fails to deliver stories that are guaranteed to leave you sitting on the edge of your seat as you go through the various twists and turns as you read through the story. While this is a part of a series, this can easily be read as a stand alone book.

Maya was asked by her grandfather to investigate the death of his ex-wife that occurred over 30 years ago. He turns over journals that her grandmother wrote. She gets pulled in wanting to investigate what really happened and wants to get answers for her grandfather and to make a movie about her grandmother.

When Jax goes to work undercover at a Club called Firebird to investigate a Russian Spy Ring that seems to point to to this Club, little does he know that his life is going to be disrupted by Maya who is determined to question the very people that he is investigating. He works with her to try to get her from ruining his investigation, the twists and turns pull you in. Love trying to figure out who does what, , but Barbara always manages to have so many things that you don’t expect that it always leave you guessing. Highly recommend.

very good

Jax is a FBI agent going undercover as a bartender. He and his team are looking at a Hollywood club that may have Russian spies as their members. When an asset dies in Jax’s car, he gets a job at the Fire Bird Club as a bartender. There he meets Maya.
Maya has worked at many different jobs but her grandfather wants her to make a movie about her grandmother, a Russian actress named Natasha. Natasha was found dead in her car and it was ruled a suicide by drug overdose. The more she investigates the more danger she is in. She starts asking too many questions at the club and somebody there is willing to kill to keep their secrets.
Jax starts helping Maya becomes it seems her case is crossing with his. He is lying to her but can’t fight the attraction between them. Will Maya forgive Jax when she finds out the truth about him? Will they find out what really happened to Natasha?
Secrets. Lies. Betrayal. Suspense. I’ll be honest, I didn’t really like this book at first. I felt it was nowhere as good as the others in this series. But the more I read, the more hooked I became. I was shocked at who the killer was.

Fearless Pursuit is Barbara Freethy’s newest addition to the FBI series. Each book can be read as a stand alone but by reading them all in order, you get a deeper understanding of this group. They were part of the same group of trainees & have managed to keep their friendship going throughout their careers. They feel like family members & they have each other’s backs. Ms. Freethy draws you into this atmosphere, pulls your emotions in deep & keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Fearless Pursuit is the pursuit of justice & truth by both Jax & Maya. Jax is undercover searching out information on a spy ring & Maya is researching her grandmother’s death to try & write a movie about life. Their paths continue to cross & their investigations seem to intertwine. While investigating, Jax & Maya’s chemistry grows & their initial attraction is intense. The plot twists & turns with new discoveries. Every time you think you have things figured out, the storyline takes off in another direction. Ms. Freethy is a master of romantic suspense.
