Hall, LMSW, adoptee, and author of Through Adopted Eyes and Through Adopted Hearts. Born into a family saturated with generational trauma, Destini’s case file with child protective services began when she was only seven months old.In her own words and unique perspective, Destini shares her vivid and detailed memories of her experience navigating child abuse, kinship care, foster care and finding a future despite the broken pieces of the past. Through all the secrets, confusion, twists and turns of her complex childhood, Destini's story is one of hope for trauma survivors...a hope that through consistent love, support, and faith in Christ, we all can be set free.

Full of ups and downs, the author really takes readers into what her life was like as a former foster youth, adoptee, and someone that wrestles with all the lack of or confusing info in her past. This memoir was a deep look into what many more may face without permanent families, and I think this book helped me empathize with former foster youth and those in care and adoptees

Shocking !
Set Free , by Destini McAlister . This memoir will provoke you to anger , will break your heart . But you will cheer for this brave girl . At times I wanted to quit reading it , but I couldn’t stop! As painful as her story is I had to know how it ended . You will not be disappointed. Beautifully and well written.

Tears, tears, tears. "Because I serve a God of mercy, who is full of second chances, I am set free." This book is everything you want in an autobiography. Not too long, but still captures every detail of how the author feels. I commend Destini for fighting for so long, & resting in the Lord.
