Unlike most people with the disorder, his identities co-exist together. Like two brothers sharing the same body who aren't that great at sharing.
Bones is the damaged soul with a psychotic hate for women and Reginald is the optimistic, nothing-to-see-here normal one.
Bones' needs are simple--no interacting with the world. But that means a life of graveyard boredom for Reginald.
Then came that fateful day when Reginald interacts with a beautiful woman visiting the cemetery they own. He would've never done it had he known the outcome, the evil door it would open in Bones.
That one encounter leads to another strange one. A darker one. Now she's tied in their basement and Reginald and Bones are fighting again. And being the weaker of the two, Reginald has only his wits to protect her from Bones' wrath.
I’m a husband and author, and I may be a little religious about both. I like writing hot sex and encapsulating it in the delicate white silk of devotion, commitment, and psychotic obsession.
If you are looking for dark, dirty, erotic, suspenseful, thrilling and jaw dropping, look no further than this Lucian Bane creation.
This is the brilliantly told series of the life of Reginald Bones, a graveyard owner and digger. Reginald Bones is not your average working class guy. Yeah, he drives a beat up pick up and keeps to his mostly reclusive lifestyle, but within him there is darkness. Deep pain has caused Bones to evolve and create an alter ego to help him survive. A woman named Winter finds her way into, their mind, body and soul. Can she be the key to helping Bones live a normal life or will be more torment and psychological breakdowns to overcome?
One of my fastest reads ever, the words fly from the pages and etch into your mind. So many eloquent, tense, erotic and gut churning moments make up this incredible story. The very end will leave you stunned, breathless and beyond words!!
It’s been awhile since I have let it all go because of a book. And forever because of a whole series. But Lucian Bane kidnapped my brain ONCE AGAIN and in his world I’ve been. I’ve lived with Reggie, Bones, Pretty Winter, X and more equally fascinating people who make up this outrageous, manic story. I asked myself how can he add one more character but they are all as strong as the next and as integral to this wild *ss story as the last one. I’ve never been so invested in a story. And the scary part is they are all alive to me. I find myself talking to them throughout the story and day. I will miss them so but so glad they came to stay.
This collection is a five star read. The storyline is one you will not experience with any other books. These characters will keep you turning the pages, lost in the unique world only this author can create. If you live bis that have depth to them this is a set you don't want to miss.
Reginald and Bones are two polar opposites. Reginald the logical, rational brother. Bones the angry, sarcastic brother. Despite their differences, they work well together. Good thing since they share a body.
Bones 1-3 Lucian Bane's Reginald Bones is a keep you on your toes, psychological roller coaster. As you turn each page you will get sucked deeper and deeper into the twisted mind of these characters. Lucian deftly layers on the complexity of Reggie and Bones' relationship, doling out bits of each of their personalities until the picture becomes clearer, though not complete.
Enter Winter. The heroine of this story is a puzzle. She gains the notice of Reginald while she visits the grave of her deceased brother. The story takes an interesting and harrowing turn as she becomes the center of Reginald and Bones' little world. Will she be Reginald's savior or Bones' victim? Bane rachets the tension tightly as these three come together and Winter's motivations are brought to light.
Lucian has woven an eerie, amazingly intricate figure with Reginald & Bones. At times rational and protective, at times scary and threatening the personalities are distinct but delicately intertwined. The voice of each personality comes and goes with a fluidity that had to be as difficult to write as it is for Winter to keep straight. Throughout, Bane lithely leads you down the rabbit hole that is the mind of this character with all its twists and turns. And just when you are sure you know where the story is going you will turn the page only to realize that Lucian has changed the path you are on.
Bones 4-6
With these books, Lucian Bane delves deeper into the unstable psychology of the fractured Bones, drawing the reader into the murky, minefield laden labyrinth of an intellect that has been damaged to the point that it's only protection is to hide from itself. Bane deftly, layers nuances and shading to the personalities, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, as they fight for dominance over the body housing them. The addition of new players in the battle for a sane Bones amplifies the tension and brings twenty more questions with every one answer discovered. Bane's tendency to mix the physical with the mental takes a back seat for the majority of story as he, instead, focuses on building new alliances and restoring balance both within the real world and the cerebral one for Bones.
Every player in this unusual cast is put through their emotional paces. They face heartbreak, fears, and roadblocks; sometimes with grace, sometimes with humor, and sometimes with pain. Mr. Bane doesn't spare his characters from the intense wringers they must face becoming better people, so be sure to have tissues handy, though he does give them some well-deserved breaks with scorchingly hot scenes, guaranteed to bring on a sweat, hysterical scenes that only he could think up (rock, paper, scissors ~ you'll see) and a sweet ending around the Christmas tree.
Lucian took his arguably most beloved characters and put them through some last wringers along with a surprise addition to the family whose insights will bring all of the Bones Brothers to their knees. From the start, there was nothing simple about these characters. Not where they came from, how they dealt with the horrific lives they went through nor what they were willing to do to get what they needed. The ending of this series is no different. Filled with soul-wrenching and heartbreaking scenes that readers will need a tissue for, sultry, sexy scenes that will bring a blush, and flat out funny scenes guaranteed to bring a laugh, this well-paced read will suck you in from page one and you won't want it to end, ever. Bane took all the balance between love and lust, heartbreak and healing that his stories are known for and poured it all over the pages of this book. He managed to show that deeply flawed, brutally damaged characters have redeeming qualities, even if you have to dig a bit to find it.
A very worthy, well-done, well-deserved finale to one hell of a series.
Be prepared to experience some emotions. I certainly did. (Sobbing did occur.) Anyone the least bit empathic will have to experience the devastation these men endured. I loved this story and the way all the characters stepped up to resolve the years of pain and suffering hidden behind separate personas. Winter was so strong to accept her ‘men’ as they are. And the relationship amongst the brothers was heartbreaking and beautiful. There is plenty of sex and a confusing mystery to solve. It took a little while to realize ‘who’ was talking, but it soon became obvious. As they all struggle to survive, we try to discover who the ‘original’ owner of the body is.
My Kindle sorted these 6 books as one story, so I just kept reading. (I can’t imagine where any of the book breaks might have been.) The majority of the first 3 stories takes place during one week! The next 3 take place during the next 2 months, but it is ALL part of the original story. So, even though it is 1000+ pages, it is worth it to just read straight through all of them at once! I loved this story. * I was give a copy for an honest [always] review *
Absolutely grabbed by the concept of this story. Initially it was a little hard to grasp and wrap my head around who was talking and when. Once I settled into a rhythm it was quite good until page 500 when a letter is missing from the book, tried clicking on the image on different devices and still no luck BUT pushed on. By this stage the story had lulled quite a great deal and I kind of just wanted it to move on. I admit from about 75% of the way through i skimmed alot of the story. I started reading it again from about 97% and skimmed to the end from 99%. Overall I did enjoy it but I would say at least 40% of this story I could have done without.(and most could probably do without 40% of this review 🤣) Having said that, I did recommend it twice and if you don't mind insta-love and HEA's for every character involved then this is the book for you.
It's impossible for me to put into words how freakin awesome this series is. It has everything anyone could want in a good book, and then a whole bunch of things that you couldn't even begin to fathom you wanted!! Characters with depth, that make you feel all the feels! Twists and turns that make your heart pound. This is a crazy ride, that no one should miss!! Truly a must read series! I started reading this when it was one book, so I had the torturous task of waiting for each installment to be written and released. Count yourselves lucky that you no longer have to wait!! Get it today...and see if I'm wrong...you won't want to put it down!
A very unique story, that contains 3 very colourful characters, all in one set so no need to be scrabbling for the next part and a wasting valuable time and you will be scrabbling believe me!
I've reviewed all the books individually as with all Mr Banes books there are twist and subplots glore, not to mention the steamy hot characters. All building for one explosive finale....
No words can explain the emotions this story evolves. It was one of the most creative books I've ever read. Anything I say could be considered a spoiler. So, what I will say is Holy Wow! There is no way to pick a favorite, because each person was so incredibly amazing, taking their own inventive role in an insanely and morbid past. This truly has shot up to be one of my all time favorite reads!
One of my favorite series. Author Lucian Bane is a Word Master extraordinaire. He draws you in and the rest of the world fall away. Reginald Bones' alter egos will make you love them and at times hate them. But he's been through a horrid past and they protect him when necessary. You will ride a multitude of emotions, but it well worth the ride.
What an intense read from a brilliant author. To be able to crawl inside the mind of a person with multiple personalities, a person with autism, and bring their characters to life in writing in a way that is so full of love, life, laughter, and everything else imaginable just blows my mind!
I felt like giving this book a 1 as I disliked most of it. I loved getting to know Barron and all of the other brothers. The characters development was amazing, however the entire story was very disturbing. Very sexual which is always fun, but that did not make up for the majority of the content.
Once you start this series you will not put it down until it is finished. These characters are captivating. One of my favorite Lucian Bane series...but of course I love Cat the most for personal reasons :)
If there is one thing Lucian is great at is keeping you on your toes!! This series had it all from steamy scenes to funny moments and even moments you are literally screaming away at the book!! Don't miss out on this awesome series!! You will definitely not be sorry!!
I’ve never read anything like this before and it blew me away. If you’re looking for a story that’s out of the norm.. grab this series! Twisted, dark, thrilling, with a touch of humor and some sexiness that turns up the heat.
This book changed my mindset. I related to it. This story became my life story - I hurt and still hold out hope for the love and happiness to come. Standing ovation for Lucian Bane, a definite re-read. I could not put it down
Loved, loved, loved this series! I love how this story played out. I have to honestly say that I love everything that Lucian Bane writes. He is a true story teller! This story is exciting, emotional and hot as all get out!
Absolutely Amazing! You will fall in love these amazing charecters. Especially the complex Bones and his his relationship with Winter. This series will have you completely and totally in your emotions. Kleenex are a definite must. Be prepared to have a series book hangover, because you will not want to stop reading.
