I have a beast inside of me. A monster that awakens at the best and the worst times. The beast allowed me to avenge my best friend’s death, but it’s also led to my downfall.
And a betrayal so deep it cuts like a knife.
Taken prisoner by the psychotic Lord of the House of the Berserkers, I must find a way to stay alive and to keep the men I love safe. Everything has changed between the mutant, the berserker, the dragon shifter, and I.
But what hasn’t changed? We’re in another wicked place and our connection will either save us or destroy us. Only time will tell.
UNKNOWN is a paranormal reverse harem romance. The first book involving these characters is called Untamed, and it takes place in the shared world, Wicked Reform School. I recommend reading that book before this one. This is a very steamy romance where the woman is the focus, and she doesn’t have to choose between her men.

It has been so long since the first book that I had forgotten some things and it took me a bit to remember. Really nothing happened in this one. It was the same cycle over and over until the very end. I was pretty bored. Hopefully the next book will be better.
The second book in Lacey Carter Anderson's House of Beserker series is Unknown and it was one wild ride.
Keira and the guys are still trapped in Maxen's castle and the angst is killing me. It's easy to see how much the guys love Keira, they're willing to do anything for her, to keep her safe and she's the same with them. Even things with Emory, while not perfect seem to be heading in a better direction. I was angry at Emory's actions in the beginning but now I have a better sense of who he is and what's he's been through and it just tugs at my heart. All of them being in danger, afraid for one another but can't do anything about it is all kinds of torture.
Just when I didn't think Maxen could get any worse he does and not only that but he's starting to mess with things no one should be messing with. How in the hell did he stay in power when so many hate him I have no idea. I can't wait for karma to get him.
Demons were introduced into the story and things are most definitely looking interesting. This could go several ways with them, it would be interesting to see what they're up to and how they might change the game. Also another key player was revealed but I'm not quite sure how he fits in, there to many possibilities but I do think he's in denial about a couple of things. I can't wait to see how he fits in because things are starting to move quick.
Unknown was a great sequel to the Untamed. It was a fun quick read that was a little dark but a whole lot interesting. There's only one more book left in the series before Keira's story is wrapped up. The final book is Unstable and it surely going to be good.
Wow this series just grows and grows. This book is jam packed with action and quite a few steamy scenes that will pull you in deep into the story. The characters in this book we see go through so much individually and get to read from the guys pov too. Which makes this book come alive more knowing they are all going through so much and have the same thought of getting Kiera save and away from Maxen. To then end the book with such a cliffhanger after everything that they go though at the end. Totally needing book 3 now please lol
So we carry on from where book one left us and oh boy it is every bit as exciting! We follow Kiera, a winter berserker, as she tries to escape with her men, Emory, Drake, from Lord Maxen. It’s a dark and emotional read with twists and turns to make your head spin, it’s also action packed and has a bit more of a back story which answers some questions from book one. Throw in some heartbreak and sorrow and yep you will need the tissues and you have one hell of a second book. Now just to hang on for book three!
Oh man I didn't think this book could be better than the first but I was wrong. What a wild ride this book was. It was full of twists and lots of blood. I cant wait to see how the get out of the newest predicament they find theirselves end. Great series so far
Unknown is book two in Lacey Carter Andersen’s House of Berserker series. This book more or less picks up where book one left off, but since a fair amount of time has passed since I read book one, I’d recommend that you have read book one recently before diving into book two. Otherwise, it will take you a few minutes to really piece together what’s going on with the storyline. Book two continues with Kiera and her men having been taken captive by Maxen. Maxen has a plan in mind to make Kiera yield to him...one way or another. He intends to test different theories because according to the prophecy she must marry him willingly. Kiera is a fighter and she has no intentions of going quietly, but what is she really willing to risk to avoid this impending marriage? This book takes readers through the different viewpoints of a variety of characters. While this story mostly focuses on Kiera I like and appreciate that I get quite a bit from the other characters as well. The storyline keeps me engaged and reading, but Kiera starts to really irritate me. I understand that the author’s intent is to write Kiera as a strong female character with a mouth who just really doesn’t care, but it’d work more if Kiera didn’t have people that she cared about. I say this, but at the same time, I think that it’s a twisted view at the same time. I wonder if Maxen literally threatened her family if she would care. The way that Emeroy puts it she’d seek revenge, but it seems that she fights harder to protect her men. So it raises a question in me on that level. I hate that she begins to irritate me with her constantly fighting Maxen. Do I want her to yield to him? No, of course not. But I want her to be smart, and it seems that it takes one of her men to basically spell it out for her to finally accept the idea. I wanted her to have more sense, because for a female who is supposed to be smart, and knows certain things...she casts that sense to the side unless she’s using it to hurt someone else. I wanted to like this book more, but Kiera acts too selfishly for my liking in this book. I’m choosing to rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I just couldn’t get past Kiera’s attitude and behavior. She says she knows and understands the risks that she’s taking, but I don’t think that she really does. I wanted her to be smarter and to play Maxen’s game, but better to try and gain her freedom herself. I like the twists at the end of this book and so I’m looking forward to the next book. I’m curious to see where things go from here. If you enjoyed the first book and want to read what happens next then I encourage you to pick this book up.
This book starts where the previous ended and we get an in depth look from each character POV as they navigate their imprisonment while desperately plot and hope for escape. Kiera, Drake, Alex, and Emory all endure different forms of suffering at the hands of Lord Maxum, Emory’s step-brother, and time is running out. With the wedding drawing near, Maxum is making more demands on Kiera and holding her guys lives over her head. The emotional struggles and head games are taking their toll on them all since they know the consequences will be dire with one wrong move. While Kiera, Drake, and Alex face their own form of torment, poor Emory is lost in a past full of nightmares and pain and terrified to step out of line. Yet when push comes to shove and lives are literally on the line…a moment away from death…can he pull himself out of the past to fight for the future he’s about to lose?
Emotions run high in this installment – the heartbreak and sorrow along with the multiple twists and turns keep you glued to the pages. Action, suspense, emotional turmoil, steamy scenes, questions answered and a few shocking moments will leave you wanting more. The multiple POVs add more enjoyment and depth to the story as readers are given a look into each character’s thoughts and feelings along the way. I love the connection Kiera has with her guys regardless of the circumstances. The unfaltering love between them all is palpable and with the ‘wow’ factor high in this book, I’m anxiously awaiting the next to see how everything unfolds.
Kiera escaped the school/prison only to end up in a very similar but much more dangerous situation. Being held by Maxen, she is expected to accept the forced marriage of her own will to make the violent tyrant the overall ruler - but she won't accept it, and won't bend down to him. After all, her heart already belongs to others. It was a fast read with lots of turbulences, violence, and drama, however I felt a bit of deja vu - similar situations, very less initiative to do something with it from the side of the protagonists, more like waiting for some hero to come and save the day. Good thing that Kiera is stubborn and true to her beliefs, unwilling to get broken by Maxen, but she is too passive and not developing enough to my liking (which on one side is good that she does not change character, but also does not grow much). Finally it looks that Emory grew his backbone again, and Adam is the sweetest man imaginable - him balancing the brutality in the book is a welcome element. I felt this book more focused on the feelings and emotions and internal debates whether to trust or not, more than on any real plot development, but I am fine with it as long as there will be more in the next one :) This was some 3.5 stars for me.
It has been a while since the first book was released so I was really excited to see what was going to happen to Kiera and the guys. Well, with how book one ended with that cliffhanger you had to wonder what happened to them. So King Maxen is not a nice man. He is very power hungry and trust me when I say that you will despise him. Kiera does not make it easy at all. She is strong willed and stubborn. She is trying to do what ever she can to not marry the King. Maxen is trying to break her and is trying to figure out what her weakness is. Well we know that Drake is healing from his injuries but something is not right with his healing. Then we have Adam, my heart went out to him because of his situation as well. Let's not forget about Emory, who I am still on the fence with. So what happens with all them. They are definitely put through the ringer in this book. Then they are also getting ready to prepare for a war with demons. Can they escape their fate. All I know is that we have another king to deal with and it ended on another cliffhanger. Overall this was another great book in this series.

The first one was really good but this... ugh. Kiera was supposed to be done super sick warrior and she goes on and on about how much she lives these dudes but the guy that captured them keeps beating them or torturing them or starving them or, or, or and she just keeps taking it and taking it and taking it. Sked just keeps watching as these men she supposedly loves are beaten over and over and does nothing. Over and over again. It's pathetic. And aggravating and in the end she just gives up, crying and balling like a baby and letting the guy treat her like the pathetic loser she is and goes to the wedding like she has no choice and she's doing it to save one of the guys but knows that he will get killed right after anyway. It's just stupid and so, so aggravating. It just makes you freaking hate her guts. She doesn't even think about killing herself but she curses Emery out every single day about what a coward he is and she's acting the same way throughout the entire freaking book. Ugh. Hate it. Hate her character.
Will Maxen die? Will Emory die? Will Adam die? Will Drake die? Why are the spirits so riled up?
Its interesting how superstitious the Berserkers are. I keep wondering if there is more within Kiera than she has been able to figure out. She would've made it out of Wicked reform with what she discovers in this chapter of her story.
I can't wait to see where the story leads with Cole and the demons. The more we learn about Maxen and his followers the more we see the divide of those threatened to follow and those who are as cruel.
Kiera keeps trying to free herself and go back to her loving family. Seeing her Rollercoaster of determination and surrender as she plays this game keeps you on edge. The prophesy says she has to be a willing bride but it says nothing of what happens to her after.
Part of me wishes this was where it ended. But I also can't wait to see what growth happens with all the characters and what king rises to the top.
This book picks up where the last book left off. Kiera's heart has been broken by betrayal. She sits in a gilded cage, forced to marry a to sadistic berserker while he holds all those she loves so dear captive. Kiera knows that he is just waiting for her to show a moment a weakness that he can use against her.
She knows that anything involving him will include pain and torture. She must protect Adam and Drake from him by pretending to not care though it hurts, but nothing hurts as much as the betrayal by Emery.
Not all is as it seems and when all is said and done, no one will be safe from the berserker who seeks to be king because if Kiera will not submit, there will be blood.
It's really getting good now after the long wait. It was totally worth it. A lot happened in this book and a lot was set up to happen in the next.

I had to read the first book in the series and I was immediately hooked. When I started Unknown, I already knew that I would love it. I love the entire concept, although I absolutely despise Maxen!!! I love Kieran and her men, Adam (OMG ADAM!!! ❤❤❤) the mutant, Drake (the tortured dragon, and Emory, her childhood best friend and fellow berserker.
This story continues with the 4 of them being kidnapped by Maxen who wants to marry Kieran to become the King of all the berserker. I feel soooo horrible about how badly Adam was treated (and poor Princess!) And how he just smiles and loves his family.
A new character, Cole, is introduced and I have to wonder if he will be another mate for Kieran.
I absolutely love this book and series but hate that the next installment won't be out for several months 😭.
This cover looks so much better than the one on audible. The girl looks like she has on a terrible wig that’s covering most of her face
Also noticed this author like weird flowing hair that curls all over in weird ways. I don’t know why but that bugs the crap out of me lol I’m also pretty sure these are AI generated as well
They also always have the weirdest most uncomfortable looking outfits that show the most skin. I think they are made for sexy. But that bugs me too because most times these cover characters are supposed to be fights or assassins as they are usually holding a sword, knife, or a ball of fire or magic lol I mean come on, that just screams cringe
Anyways any book like that or with the purple pink fluffy sparkly background I stay away from because that just screams teen hormones.
I took the authors advice on this advanced reader copy and read book one so I knew what was going on. This story is very unique from others I have read before. A reform school for supernatural’s is some thing you don’t see often. Then you have a crazy king who wants to fulfill a prophesy about a female berserker making him the true king. This guy is plain nuts and cruel to boot. I felt the pain of the main characters when they were hurting and being beaten by the kings men. When they try to escape things do not go as planned and they go from the frying pan into the fire. I am looking forward to the next book.

This is the second book in the House of the Berserkers. This book is just as good as the first one. The characters are well written and I can relate to them. The story line is a good one. Maxim is one cruel and crazy SOB. He is twisted and plans on annexing demon lands and marrying Keira to become the King of the Berserkers. Keira loves Adam, Drake and Emory. Although Emory seems to have stabbed them in the back in the previous book, Keira can't help but have feelings for the boy she loved. There are a lot of twists and turns in this book that will keep you guessing what is gonna happen next. It does end on a cliffhanger so I can't wait to read the next book to see what happens next. This is a really good book and I enjoyed it. I would recommend it to other readers.
Suspense and terror fueled moments combine with love, a thirst for freedom and justice, and stolen heated moments with her men, to make this another book that you can’t put down. Kiera is trapped. And with her men trapped as well, she has no choice but play willing prisoner and try to keep her men alive in the process. But she’s on a timer, and it’s counting down quickly. With time running out she has no idea if she can make it out alive, but she refuses to try without her men by her side. We get to see a bit more of other characters in this book, and the brutality and fear that Kiera is facing, making her terror and that of those around her our own. The writing makes you root for our MCs and hating everyone who tries to hurt them. I seriously look foreword to the next book!
It’s fun being able to finish book one and two in the same day, however it’s unfortunate that book three isn’t out yet! I need to know what happens next!! And will it be three books or four books?? I really want to know?? What happens??? I have so many questions and all left unanswered! But I absolutely love Kiera! She is such a sparkplug or rebel! She really fights for what she wants even when it’s a struggle. She is amazing. I’m not to fond of Emory, but I understand where he is coming from. I’m trying to figure out Cole, but that is one of the left unanswered things that will probably get answered in the next book. I want princess to come be my cat. I’ll take excellent care of him, he will be pampered forever if he just comes and talks to me. 🥰🥰🥰
I love the whole premise of the story of the House of Berserkers, and I honestly love Kiera. I was so happy to hear the author would be expanding on the series. You get to see the book from everyone's POV which is great because if not there would definitely be some things that you missed along the way. It's such a rollercoaster journey from start to finish for Kiera and her men especially after the ending of book one. And honestly, the ending on this book also means book three could certainly be the same way.
Keira and her poor guys just seem to go from one prison to another, first with the actual prison/academy, and then into Maxen's clutches, I won't say where they ended up next cause that would be a spoiler and well really you just need to read it to find out what happens.
I absolutely loved that book two brought us back to where we left off at. Kiera is not backing down in this one and is determined to make it back to her family. She was able to break out of the Wicked Reform School only to land in yet another prison with King Maxen. Kiera learns more about herself in this book and she really puts her heart on the line. I felt myself breaking along with her in this book but she has to keep a straight face on so Maxen cannot use any of her weaknesses against her. We are left with another killer cliffhanger and I cannot wait to find out what happens next! This is definitely a must read and be prepared for it to not be an easy road! It is worth it to find out how their story progresses and I am dying for the next book in the series!
Holy smokes! Kiera, Adam, Emory, and Drake just can’t catch a break. Throughout this book in the series they have to endure so much. Moments of happiness are few, drama and suspense are many. This series is addictive and so intriguing. I am pulled in and glued to it as I must find out what’s going to happen. Will someone Kiera loves die or will they all make it out alive. These are just some of the questions you end up asking. There are many twists and turns throughout the story that keep you guessing. The story is superbly written and it is most definitely a must read.

This is an intense story and highly suggest reading it in order. Just when you think you figure something out everything gets turned around. The one constant is that Maxen is beyond insane and capable of cruelty you never heard of. Take crazy and multiply it by a thousand and you might get an idea of how bad this guy is. And Kiera has to marry this guy. What she is willing to do to protect others is beyond measure. She is one tough woman that can take down anyone. But Maxen is just too insane for her to handle. There are some dark moments with death and killing. So this isn’t for the faint at heart. Can’t wait for book three.
I was on the edge of my seat all the way through this one hoping they could escape from the situation book one left is at.
So emotional, knowing they are at the mercy of the villain and his physco ways through much of this and you know Maxen is capable of anything.
I was quite surprised the route this book took towards the end it added an unexpected element to the story and I'm intrigued as to where book 3 will lead.
We are also introduced to Cole and I'm sat here wondering how relevant he is going to be in the series, potential love interest? Friend? Who knows either way I am gripped and can't wait for the next installment.
Yowza!!!! Prepare for all kinds of alpha male posturing, supernatural dominance games, and a fierce, determined, flat out AMAZING female at the center of it all!!!! If you've not read book one before this, I strongly suggest doing so. Otherwise you won't have a proper understanding of the complex character dynamics or world building. This book is dripping with action, deception, and so many other crazy emotions. You'll find yourself mentally cheering, booing, and many other things while reading this gem! It definitely took me on an adrenaline filled journey that has me looking forward to book three!!
Captive in Maxen's castle, Kiera tries frantically to free Adam from the dungeons before Maxen realises the advantage he has. Emory is free-ish, once again pressganged into his step-brother's service. Drake is a guest, being wined dined and courted for the power Maxen believes he possesses. Helpless, trapped by the whim of a madman bent on twisting the prophecy for his own benefits, they must escape before the roiling darkness on the horizon engulfs them all.
LCA has done it again... she hooks the reader and then leaves us dangling over her cliffhangers desperate for another paragraph, just one more sentence.
Amazing from start to finish. Continuing great world building and character development from the first book. Outside of the wicked reform school world, the story centers around the evil king and his plotting. The characters are so engaging and the story is absolutely thrilling. Sacrificing for each other and for the good of all the berserkers. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. The author has started us on another adventure with a massive cliffhanger. Definitely recommend this book. But you definitely have to read book one untamed to understand what’s going on.
I love the overall story line, even though there didn’t seem to be quite as much forward progress going on in this one. Keira and her men still can’t seem to have anything go their way. Kiera is being held along with her men by a cruel, evil, and sadistic berserker named Maxen who wants to marry her and is trying to force her whatever way he can. Separately and together, they have continued to fight and the reader keeps waiting for a breakthrough! Things are not what they seem. What will be the ultimate fate of Keira and her men? Will Maxen get his way?
My god the plot twists and turns in this book made my head spin Kiera (FMC) finds herself at the mercy of sadistic and cruel Maxen. The lengths that man went through in this book to not only terrorize Kiera but try to break her in order to get her to marry him was jaw dropping. I found myself praying that Kiera would deal with him. He was just bloody awful! I just finished reading this book and my head is chock full of unanswered questions that i hope we will get answers in the next one. With that ending im counting down the days until book 3 is out. This one was a cracking read
