A Dark Why Choose Paranormal Vampire Romance

Retribution.
Reformation.
Two sides of a revolution, both vying for my allegiance.
Well, I pick neither side.

I'm an Earth Fae Royal bound to four Midnight Fae. My powers are growing stronger every day, and I'm tired of being a pawn in a war I don't understand. Now that I know all the players involved and the risks at stake, I'm ready to ascend.

No more tricks.
No more lies.
No more deadly secrets.

My name is Aflora.
Your future Queen of the Midnight Fae.
And I'm done playing your games.

Welcome to the new reign, boys.
I make the rules here.
And I will not bow.

Author's Note: This is the conclusion to the dark paranormal "why choose" Midnight Fae Academy trilogy. It's strongly recommended that these books be read in order.

5 stars. Amazing. What else is there to say?

Well I suppose I could start with how this was my favourite of the series so far (** note these are NOT standalone stories). From the opening lines I was caught hook. line and sinker. This really is one of those books you will want to read in one sitting, so don't start it if you have important plans that you can't get out of. Definitely don't start it late at night, not if you want to get any sleep.

Aflora may be a captive of Zakkai, but that won't stop her from interacting with Kols, Zeph and Shade, well when she can track that slippery guy down. The steam level of this was possibly lower, though we do get a fantastic MM scene and a real treat towards the end. However I liked that the focus was on the characters and plot, rather than the pages being filled with unnecessary sex scenes. I felt the balance was perfect in this one.

Despite his actions at the end of the last book, I really felt for Shade in this book. His constant sacrifices are enough to break even the strongest of characters and the way he negotiates through the political equivalent of a minefield is breathtaking. The double, triple and quadruple crossing made my mind spin. I still can't work out the allegiances of some characters, I'm sure there are still plenty of surprises left in store for us. Throughout all this, even when Shade seems to betray the others, no one feels the pain more than him. Everything is done for Aflora, so you can't help but love the guy.

We eventually start to see the bigger picture, seemingly random events and comments start to tie together. Truths are revealed, as are lies, and Shade very much is at the heart of it all, whether he wants to be or not. Aflora is both a pawn and a catalyst, but whether she can truly tie her mates together remains to be seen. The plot rattles along at break neck speed, with surprises jumping out from some very unexpected quarters. I just can't sing the praises of this ongoing story enough.

My Review

So we left things here previously with Shade apparently betraying and giving Aflora up to her enemy Zakkai.
But things aren’t what they seem on the surface and here secrets are revealed and betrayals play out as everything is brought to a dramatic and explosive head.

Oh wow, what a tangled web we do weave and here Shade Aflora, Kols, Zeph and Kai are all in yet another time loop due to Shades interferences.
Shades current and past manipulations have brought everyone to this current point in time and he’s praying to the universe that this time around things play out differently.
But there's a steep price to pay for all of his prior meddlings with timelines and the cost of this is just too high a price and one that’s he’s unwilling to pay.

The end result will see Aflora and her mates take that final step finally cementing them together as one solid unit.
I’m so anticipating the resolution to this whole saga and I’m ever so pleased that this wasn’t rushed especially since Kai wasn’t really introduced properly until this third book.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the final piece of the puzzle with book four.

This series is fantastic full of twists and turns this author has such a talent with storytelling and I was hanging on every word, This series is one I highly recommend
A massive thumbs up from me this was fabulous from start to finish.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of midnight Fae Academy book Three.

This is my least favourite book in the series so far. It was supposed to be a trilogy and it shows.

Even though it's not a long book, certain parts dragged starting from around the middle onwards. By the end I was just waiting for it to be over and was actually happy for it to be so.

It's such a shame because the beginning was amazing. It kept the vibe from the previous books perfectly, I don't know what went wrong.

Anyway, only one more book left, I hope it'll be better than this one.

Okay I freaking LOVED these books!!!

Super fast pace and entertaining, and this book definitely had more twists and turns and made me cry and scream!!

Oh and that cliffhanger !? Ugh April can’t come soon enough !

The only thing I would change, is to make each book longer 😉

Reverse Harem/Fantasy Vampire like Fae.

Third Book in the Midnight Fae Academy. Series needs to be read in order. There is M/M included, some of my favorite parts actually!

Bow down to the Queen! Alfora's evolution is extordinary, I can't wait to see her flourish.

I had goosebumps finishing this book. I also screamed multiple times, scaring TF outta my family. 😂 This series has been a favorite for me this year. It seems like nothing and everything happened in this installment. I read that the author only wanted a trilogy for these characters, with that being said. Usually I'm like, God, why do authors have to drag shit out, and all that jazz. However, with this series, I feel like I'll never be satisfied. Three books in and I'm not even ready to leave them. I don't have a clue if the forth book is final, or if everything could come together in one book. But I'm eagerly waiting, March, I think March can't come soon enough.

Let me talk about the characters for a minute. Somehow, Lexi C. Foss writes these characters that beckon your attention, storylines that inhale your time, and twists that have you begging for more. I honestly could've read this book in a couple hours. I made myself stop, I knew I had to wait for the next, I knew once I really let myself go, I'd devour and then sit and sulk. And sure enough. Here I am, I dragged it out for two days. 🤣 Pathetic, really. So, back to the characters. We meet Kai. Definitely not what I expected. I found him honest, upfront, and completely endearing. Yup, I fell victim to insta-love. I can't even lie. Page one, hook, line, sinker. Alfora has more sense that I do, apparently. Let me give you a taste of him. I laughed way too hard at this.

“Dream-raped you?” he repeated, his expression rivaling mine as he released a disbelieving laugh. “You commanded me, sweetheart. Not the other way around. I came to you to talk, but you told me not to say anything and to fuck you with my mouth instead. As your mate, I obliged. I would hardly call that rape.”

I don't want to spoil anything. If I keep rambling... Who knows what could come of it. This book pretty much owned me! My kids could've asked for a litter of puppies while I was reading the end and I've would've said yes, just for alone time to finish.

Another addictive, outstanding book from Lexi C. Foss!

I highly recommend to Reverse Harem readers, you will love this one!

Oh no! I thought this was only a trilogy. Alas, it is not and now I have to wait for the next book. Oh the agony!
Wow, did the plot get entangled and confused during this book. All I can say is that Shade is probably the bravest and most devious character out there. Oh and I really like Zakai--totally yummy. ;)

It seems like i have been waiting ages for this third book in the spell binding Midnight Fae Academy.
I was excited when this arrived on my kindle, and WOW it was worth the wait, addictive, steamy, lots of chaos around every corner what more could you want.

This picked up right where it left off with that cliff hanger in book two, i had no idea how this was going to play out, but i shouldn't of worried as the author knew exactly what she was putting us through with her phenomenal plot, she never let me up for a breath through out this book i was totally hooked.

This story has lots of highs and lows, greed, hope, heart breaking moments, this book had it all in spades, it was so intense and will have you on the edge of your seat with what is happening. I flipping LOVED IT, I can't get enough of this Fae world with Aflora and her sexy as guys, Zeph,Kol's, Shade and Zakkai.
That ending WHAT!! i need the next book ASAP.

The beginning of the end is near😳

Lexi comes out swinging in this MFA story and boy does she know how to pack some punches.....so many questions are answered, but so many more are revealed that need to be asked❣️Aflora and her mates are finally coming to realise what’s happening but furthermore what happened in the past is coming to light as well😢

Absolutely love this series and characters and I can’t wait to see how it all ends😍 I received an advanced copy and I willingly leave my honest review❤️

I am glad that I am reading this series as it is complete now, I would have been rather bumped if the last installment has not been out.
Aflora has had quite the journey and it appears that not all is as it seems. There was s more to her heritage than anticipated and the race with time just became more deadly.
Little surprise at the end of this one.

My initial critiques of this series very much still stand and can be found in previous reviews. Thank the Lord baby Jesus though that the action and plot picked up faster in this book. I was honestly wondering if I was just wasting time trying to get through 3 books of build up and no answers.

Burning Thwomps!!!
My heart is racing My mind spinning!
Chit, what a ride!

"Retribution requires sacrifice"
The ultimate in this case -
It is a bit like the butterfly effect

Before I go further if you're here I am going to assume you have already read the first two books in this series.
If you haven't...
Off you go! Don't want to spoil anything for you and trust me this is one adventure you won't want to miss.

So back to my racing heart-
Holy cow I can't believe what just happened!
I thought they were playing a dangerous game before
I knew some of the key antagonists from the previous books but there is a new player or maybe just an old one (or two or three) that I failed to see?
The game just took a much darker turn

Be prepared for some heart-shattering moments
brought on by twisted acts of greed
followed up by moments of hope
only to be crushed again under a fiery veil of darkness

I knew Shade got the short straw but here?
Heart cracked -
River of tears flowing with sorrow.
I wanted to grab him and hide him.
Erase the ghosts of the lives he had suffered through

And Kol's - I don't have words for the brutal betrayals you are about to face but I will say you have my vote of confidence.

My sweet Kai I must apologize I was so wrong about you - There is hope for you yet

Zeph you are the rational heart in this menagerie of misery - please continue to guard them

Lastly Aflora
Follow your heart it hasn't led you astray yet. I know it hurts at times but you got this
Puzzles are your thing 😇

How this series can get more intense - more on the edge of your seat
IDK
I can say with all surety that this should be on every dark fantasy lovers list of must reads!

Just when you think this series can’t get any better, Lexi pops out another belter of an instalment.

With more heat. More tension. More adventure. More angst and more great world building.

The creativity in this, and all this author’s stories are a sight to behold, or read. Not sure which is correct, however I do know that whilst reading, the reader is filled with awe, just like myself.

I have never wanted to be in a RH relationship more that after reading this. Especially if the guys are Kols, Zeph, Shade and Zakkai. They exude maleness, sensuality and strength.

But let’s not forget Aflora, this is one tough cookie. She has had everything thrown at her and continues to do so. She’s the epitome of a fighter and I am loving seeing her personality and attitude come into the forefront.

Cannot wait for the next instalment. Book Four cant get here quick enough. Praise for Foss’s writing and ability to capture her reader’s attention.

This is the third book in the series. You can not read this without reading the other 2 first, you would be alittle lost.

I did really enjoy this book. I've already downloaded the next book.

What a book and what a cliffhanger of an ending 😱 I am loving this series!!

MFA3 followed on straight after book two, so you need to read these in order. Thank goodness though after the cliff we'd suspended over!

It was relatively slow burn for the first half as we learn more about Zakkai and his intentions after he took Aflora. I was intrigued by him and how he'd fit in and I liked him more and more as we learnt his secrets and saw how Aflora affected him, even if like her other mates he was frustrating at times and wasn't always straight forward with his methods (still sexy af though).  There were less steamy scenes overall but the ones that were there took my breath away, Kols and Zeph especially.....so flipping hot!! 🔥

The second half however ignited with the mystery, intrigue and suspense. What was Shade really up to? The story twisted and turned, then bam!!! The last few chapters detonated and we finally saw the depraved evil they are all up against! That ending was emotional and gripping, just fantastic and I can't wait for the final installment. Lexi C Foss, please, please, please write quickly and be nicer to my Shade, he deserves it after all the heartache he is going through! Lol

A cliffie with all the feels. I swear, Lexi draws you in, hooks you, and then wrings you out. Such a wild ride with this installment. This is most assuredly NOT a standalone, you need to read the first two before diving in, and be prepared for a cliffhanger as the ride to the end has just begun.

Steam - Check
Action - Check
World Building - Check
Secrets Revealed - Double Check
More secrets waiting - of course

Not one to be missed or overlooked. This book is a masterful weaving of lines and plot threads while creating more you want the solution to. It will make you laugh, it’ll make you fan yourself from the steam, and it will have you grabbing for the tissues as characters grow, fail, and grow some more. The journey to the climax is going to be a bumpy ride, strap in and prepare!

Do NOT read this book if you have not read books 1&2 first. That being said....
HOLY CRAP!! This book was a wild ride, with many revelations and information given about several of the characters. Aflora is becoming even stronger with her connection to her mates - a true queen, Shade is....well...Shade, and Kai is frustratingly wonderful. The heartstopping climax in the book made me cry, wish, hope, and pray for a way to make it work, only to be followed by one of the sexiest hottest scenes I've ever read. BUT THEN....major CLIFFHANGER! I've already preordered book 4, and can not wait to read the conclusion of this phenomenal series. Lexi never dissappoints, and always leaves her readers wanting more. Well done!

Lexi C. Foss builds such immersive worlds that you cannot help being sucked in, until you find yourself devouring her words and then begging for more. She also has a way of setting things up only to later turn everything upside down, and as she does so she leads you through all the emotions. MFA 3 lives up to and exceeds these expectations. As pieces of the mystery get solved, other pieces twist and turn, and it makes it impossible to put the book down!!! One thing is for certain, though, and that is that Aflora is growing into a kickass heroine that you cannot help but root for! Start this series today, and you will not regret it.

Okay....so this book was phenomenal! It had action, some steamy shenanigans, a few truly touching moments, and a whole lot of evil chaos. Picking up with Aflora, Zeph, Kols, Shade, and Zakkai was like getting back to old, but extremely sexy friends. I was so excited to see where Aflora and Zakkai's relationship would go and I was not disappointed. The pacing was perfect for their relationship development and brought him into the fold with the other three guys in a way that things aren't perfect, but they are perfectly delicious for the reader. Aflora grew so much in her own powers and confidence and Shade gives an answer to his meddling...finally. This third installment was exactly what I wanted and didn't know I needed for the end of the year. This is a series I could read again and again.

This is most definitely NOT a stand alone read. You must've previously read the others in the series to understand all the relationships and backstory.

With that said....buckle up for a doozy of a ride!!! Adventure, magic, mystery, treachery and oh so much more. Huge revelations happen throughout, and certain bonds either strengthen or break under all they endure. You will feel like reading in one sitting to find out what's happening. I for one cannot wait for the next book after that insane cliffhanger ending. Eek!!!

What can I say about this book? Just wow! I was pretty bummed when I found out she ended up making this series into 4 books but having read the book, I see why! There is no way she could finish this book and it only be 3 of them. There is so much that we still need to find out and I can't wait for the next book! I enjoyed the relationship budding between Kai and Aflora and I can't wait to see more!!!

A new reader needs to start with book 1, as these continue where the previous book left off. The book was good, though there were a few places that moved real slow, and a few places that didn't seem to work well. This had an ending point to it, but the dreaming sequence at the end leant towards a "oh no" cliff hanger. Overall, this held my attention, and had me wanting to see where the story ends in book 4.

Sometimes I believe that Lexi likes to torture her readers. Pretty sure she’s a sadist. In the final book of the trilogy.... that’s right, this isn’t the last book because the muses wouldn’t shut up. Anyways, we learn more about Aflora and Kai’s relationship and more bonds are formed. The villain isn’t always who it seems to be and someone could be lost.

Pretty much the same as the last 2 books but just different details.
I spent most of the time hating on Kai but he brought a new element which was nice.

The smut was ok, the last scene was probably the best one.

I really hope there's more excitement for the last one as it's just falling flat for me.

I read the four books in this series back to back.

We get properly introduced to Kai in this book. We learn about Aflora's past and fully understand the rot that is Constantine. Of course there are lots of twists and turns and plenty of steam to go around.
