Juliet Gauvin

Juliet is originally from California. She is a true, hopeless, all-in romantic. Her first kiss was with a Frenchman in Paris, her first love was an Eagle Scout, her first crash and burn was with someone from Harvard (Jules studied history at Yale—she should have known better). When she isn't writing she can be found photographing landscapes, binge watching entire series on Netflix, or dancing the international cha cha.

She lives for the real magic in the world—it exists—in the form of an ancient building, a kind smile from a stranger, the inexplicable experiences that come from being in love, an erotic encounter with a gorgeous international stranger…

The Irish Cottage was inspired by Jules’ love for all things Irish. A love sparked in her teens by Riverdance; fanned into a flame when she befriended a group of Irish kids in France; and blazed into a wildfire by a visit to the Emerald Isle.

Earlier this year, an AncestryDNA test confirmed what Jules has suspected for a while: she’s a third Irish (one of her grandparents continues to be unknown but as luck would have it, the test divined that he must have been an Irish-Swede).

To Love!

Elizabeth Lara and Connor Bannon, have settled into life in Castle Bannon and, in their own way created "family". Declan, once only seen as a caretaker, cook and servant is a full on member of the household often joining in for the marvelous meals he has prepared. Connor's friend, and recent Rock Superstar, Killian, along with his manager and Elizabeth's American friend, Audre (also serving as Killian's manager, Event Coordinator and love interest) round out the residents of the Castle for this story.

Life us good. Killian has booked his first full stadium concert, Connor has begun to unearth treasures from within the castle grounds for his antique business, and Lara is deep in research about the hidden years of Aunt Mag's youth.

When Audre stages a carnival themed party at the Castle, the friends are delighted with the event. Music, magic, jugglers and fortune tellers! So exciting! When the four have a group tarot reading, it is all in fun. Or is it! will the echo if " Risk!" and "Protect!" have meanings for the couples beyond the white tent?

This book was a major disappointment.

I read the earlier books in the series, and pre-ordered this one A YEAR AGO. It was due to be published in December 2020, and I received an e-mail advising that publishing was delayed. Each month, another e-mail notified me that the publication date was pushed back. When it finally arrived on my kindle, I wondered why I, or anyone else, bothered with it.
The book lacked a coherent storyline, interesting new characters or further development of existing characters. Prior books included engaging dialogue, between charming people, but this book did not. In short, it lacked anything that might have held my interest. There were enough spelling and grammar errors to distract me from the story over and over. What was the editor doing over the last year if he/she missed those glaring errors?
This book was nothing more than an empty shell, with nothing worthwhile inside. I will not bother with the sixth book in the series. In my mind, this was truly the “last” in the series.

Want to know what a dynamic and strong woman experiences when she finds herself and then a once in a life time love. Then this series is the one. Juliet Gauvin has captivated the heart, mind and soul with her portrayal of Elizabeth Lara, the love of her life Connor Bannon and their circle of friends.

This wonderful story along with the ones before this let us in to the world that Elizabeth lives in, from the the little Irish town of Dingley and the many characters that affect her daily life. To ten wonderful bright lights in Dublin. We finally see Kilian and Audre take the final step in the relationship and the strengthened love between Elizabeth and Connor after 5 years of marriage.

This series is a must read for anyone that loves gutsy characters, portrayal of great relationships and wonderful plots in every chapter.

Love, love love this series.

Back to a good read. Even if short

My voice dictation didn't work last time, so I'll try it again. She's back to 5 stars because this. The second novel in the second trilogy. It's more balanced and the previous one I felt that she was too much a feminine sexist. Would you get to bed as being a male-dominated pig? So she's back to being a norm with very strong female Wolf which is good and very strong male world, which is also good. He'd like to be a more balanced. However, the story was a little bit too short and she's left. 2 items still not resolved. Unfortunately, I couldn't buy the third novel at the time. I bought the sex too because It wasn't available on prime. Hopefully, when I click on by now it will come up.

I loved the Irish Heart Series, so much in fact that I re-read the series with the arrival of #5, The Irish Secret. From book #1 I was hooked and couldn't wait to get the newest edition as each came out. That said, I only gave this book 4 stars. The release was delayed several times, it makes me wonder if the ending was just rushed to finally complete the book. Chauvin developed characters over five books, but simply ended with a basic "and they lived the rest of their lives." I have this feeling of unfinished business, which I would understand if there was another book coming, but that isn't the impression I got. I guess I'm just disappointed to not have closure.

I felt like I was dropped in the middle of a book. There are references to things that have happened to the characters (obviously in previous book) that are glossed over and I found myself trying to figure out what had happened. Some characters are mentioned (again from previous books) that seem to be important to the main character but are not explained why so much importance. Why are some in hiding? And the ending - well, it was abrupt. I realize this is the 5th book in the series, but I should not have had to reread the previous book before reading this one.
I have read many books in series but never felt so lost trying to catch up with the characters as in this one.

Continuing with the characters we know and love, this story really builds to a satisfying crescendo. I loved the auction items Connor finds, Audra’s imaginative concert marketing and unique audience “favors,” for lack of a better term. We learn more about Kilian’s emotions and how they tie into his music, and Elizabeth makes a new friend in Ben and works with her great uncle to research some clues about an unknown part of Magdalena’s life. Highly recommend this series, and look forward to the next and final book.

In not sure I liked it.

I did read it all the way through but I admit I skipped paragraphs. It was too wordy. The author got the point across but kept on describing. I knew her friends were in love but it goes on and on. I also kind got tired of all the money all the houses were the most fabulous her clothes were the best at any function she was at and it was way over the top. Ordinary people like me can stand a lot less and still lime the story. I'm going to start the next installment. Well see.

Romance, secrets and Ireland (of course)

I gave up reading romances decades ago. But, because much of this series takes place in Ireland, Britain and France I couldn't help myself . I've been so pleasantly surprised. Ms. Gavin has written a great series of books that have never disappointed. And, this particular one is my favorite. There are so many sub-plots and new characters that are woven in that I ended up reading into the wee hours and loving it. Thanks Juliet. I'm going to be so sad when the next and last book is finished!

What a great story that continues our favorite characters:Elizabeth, Connor, Killian, and Audre. Plus developing some new friends along the way like Ben. You will love all the interwoven stories and the unraveling of a few mysteries. Always exciting and action packed! Beautiful descriptions of Ireland make it irresistible!! Congratulations to Juliet Gauvin, well done. I can’t wait to read the next book!

One of my favorite series and authors

I really have enjoyed your books and your writing. I think you are right up there with Nora Roberts. I was a little dismayed at how long it took to receive this book and all the delays. Maybe a brief synopsis would be good as a review of previous books to bring the reader up to date. I,m looking forward to your final book in the series.

Along for the ride.

I want to visit the Ireland these four live in! Separately they are simply amazing, but together they are unstoppable, each in their own way. A titled land owner faces his childhood, the American lawyer/photographer researches her family's past, the singer/songwriter makes it big and brings his heart with him. Isn't life grand!

I read the first 5 books in this series this week and enjoyed them as I would any beach-type read. Reading them makes me want to to back to Ireland but they also sparked some questions that can never be answered. Why does the main female character always meet and fall in love with a man who is not only super-model handsome but also ridiculously rich? Why is there always some evil plot to kidnap, kill, or hurt her in some way to get back at said rich guy? Also, an eccentric relative with connections to other rich/famous people?

Perhaps I am being cynical but sometimes a story about regular people with regular lives - not billionaires, royalty, etc. would be nice.

moving book

I am totally in love with all the characters. They are well rounded and become real people as you move through the pages I got totally caught up in the story and stayed up late - too late with each book I read . I will miss the series when I read the last book.

Ended with lead into the next one. Only a piece of the secret is revealed toward the end of the novel. The couples love each other, that’s clear. I felt like too much space went to the “lovie dovie” stuff.

The Irish Story Continues

This book is the fifth in this series. It's plot can stand alone although it is best to read the four preceding books first. The plot is continuous throughout the series. Good reading.

It was a long time coming but what an exciting novel! Another page turner in this Irish Secret series. We finally see the relationship between Audra and Kilian blossom. I can’t wait for book 6 (I hope it doesn’t get delayed for months on end like book 5.). Fantastic read!!! 🌻

Fun group of books enjoyed all 5

I enjoyed all 5 books in this series. I think you would to. I think every book kept me reading. Like everyone else said the sex could have been toned down a bit. Maybe not as explicit I did enjoy all. You will to. Can't wait for the next.

I enjoyed this series with it's twists and turns and suspense.
The only thing I did not like was sometimes I had trouble following the story.
I have already pre-ordered the 6th book to be released in Nov. 2022.

Another fun read

Wonderful continuation of the series. I don't do spoilers, but this was another enjoyable palate cleanser in between my larger fantasy reads. The depictions of the people and places are fascinating. Looking forward to her next book.

Suspense and Love

Juliet Gauvin is quite skilled at leading the reader into worlds of mystery, history, suspense, and love in the beauty of the Irish countryside. At the end of each book, I wanted more. What was going to happen next?

Stop reading this series after the third book. Everything that I loved about the first 3 books has completely disappeared. It’s like someone else is writing this stuff now. The plot is terrible, the characters have no depth and the book just doesn’t even make sense anymore.
