as always the writing of Kaniuk is not easy to swallow. sometimes you love it and sometimes you are detached. still, interesting writer and when of the best in describing conflicts or generations gaps in Israel

Such a strangely written book, as if there was no editor editing it… but I’m sure it was on purpose. Hard to read in parts, it still sucked me into it, I can’t explain why.

A really interesting and unique style of writing which captured my attention. However the story seems to lag in the second half of the book and I soon wanted the book over with. There are perhaps some cultural and religious elements to the book that I don't understand well but was interesting to read about. Still it could've probably ended sooner.
