Billionaire Auctions in Bloom #6
Tasting Her Treat
She's sugar, spice, and everything nice.
And I have a massive sweet tooth.
I like to go to auctions where billionaires like me can buy virgins.
That's where I meet a curvy baker who's both sassy and sweet.
But that's no surprise, with a name like Candy.
I'm dying to take a taste and make her mine.
So, I'll bid every dime I've got to claim her.
But she vanishes into the crowd and leaves me craving her.
I'm used to getting what I want, so I'm not giving up easily.
The chemistry between us is hotter than her oven.
But could I end up getting burned by pursuing it?
Will we both be left with nothing but crumbs and memories?
Or is there love mixed in with the desire that's baking between us?
Tasting Her Treat is a standalone billionaire auction romance. Jamie Knight promises to always bring you a happily ever after filled with plenty of heat. And never any cheating or cliffhangers!

Tasting Her Treat is book 6 in the Billionaire Auctions in Bloom series, a series of standalones mostly connected by the friendships of the different characters. Each is an insta-lust/love story that starts because of an auction.
This is the story of Elliot and Candy. Elliot is a successful businessman (billionaire) who's not happy with the direction of his life. His friend Reid (Buying Her Jewel) invites him to a "virgin" auction. When he attends he sees Candy and falls hard. Candy is not up for auction; she's there to support her friend Amelia (Buying Her Jewel) and to sate her curiosity. Elliot finds her intriguing. While he's distracted, she slips away.
Candy, like Tammy (Cramming Her Cupcake), needs money to grow her bakery business. She was in an abusive relationship in high school and is a bit gun shy. When she finally does agree to be in an auction -- for her business -- Elliot is on the winning end. Thus starts their relationship.
There's no ruining the ending because Jamie Knight promises to always bring you a happily ever after filled with plenty of heat. And never any cheating or cliffhangers!
I think this is my favorite of all the stories, 3.5 (up to 4 for GoodReads). I almost rolled it down to three, but I really enjoyed this story. Plus, I think this is the best edited story I've seen from the author (YAY!!) and careless editing is usually my reason for rolling down. I was about half-way through when the first thing popped out at me. After that, there were a couple of minor things. Good story; pretty good editing!
Elliot and Candy were good together. Though the detail regarding how the abuse Candy suffered changed her was light, there was enough background to let us see why she threw herself into her business. Elliot, too, was not one-dimensional. Their story is very sweet.
Though a standalone, this also serves as a continuation of sorts to Cramming Her Cupcake. A thread started in that book gets a resolution in this one. And, the resolution was satisfying and upbeat. (FYI... That thread was not "cliffhangered" in the previous story. There was a resolution there. The thread was just picked up and continued here in a new way.)
That's where first editing error popped. Since the events in the two stories take place pretty simultaneously, Knight reuses a couple of scenes from the other book. No problem. However, she forgot to put them entirely in Candy's point of view. (Plus, she left out the event she saw from across the room in the second scene so when Candy says she saw what happened from across the room, readers don't know what she's talking about unless you've read Brian & Tammy's story. A bit awkward, but it didn't really hurt the current story.) The other editing issues were missing words (typos).
All in all, this was a good, fun read. Though the others in the series are up and down in how much I enjoyed them and none dissuaded me from reading more my this author, this entry actually made me want to seek and read more by her.
Other books in the series (to date, 11/13/2020) are listed below in publication/release order. All are fluffy fun reads. (Be forewarned, however, they have varying degrees of editing from very bad to very good.) Though I have rated some lower than others, I have always enjoyed the basic stories and recommend the series.
*01 Buying Her Flower (Andrew & Sheila) [2 stars]
*02 Plucking Her Clover (Finn & Melissa) [2.5 stars]
*03 Buying Her Jewel (Reid & Amelia) [3 stars]
*04 Buying Her Buns (Derek & Jocelyn) [2.5 stars] My Review
*05 Cramming Her Cupcake (Brian & Tammy) [2.5 stars] My Review
*06 Tasting Her Treat (Elliot & Candy) [3.5 stars] My Review
*07 Unveiling Her Innocence (Gabriel & Lorelai) [3.5 stars] My Review
*08 Scratching Her Vinyl (Dominic & Juliette) [3.5 stars] My Review
Books 02, 05, and 07 are outside the location of the other five stories. Though a couple of "regulars" appear in these stories, the other five books are more intertwined by the friendships of the characters who live in the same location and whose stories pretty much happen within the same time frame.

Candy had her bakery she worked hard for it but needed some money to move to a different premise. Candy’s friend told her about auctions and she went and had a look this is where she met Elliot for the first time. Next time when another auction was on Candy auctioned herself and Elliot bought her.
Elliot after missing carrying on their conversation was surprised to see Candy on stage but he bought her in the end they had a fun night. A month in everything was going brilliant but then Candy broke up with him. A new auction was on and try and forget Candy he went and angry Candy was there auctioning herself again he bought her again once he got her back to his she explained why she broke up with the abusive relationship and needing to out all her time into the bakery and last why Candy auctioned herself again.
Candy gets a phone call telling her they raised enough money to buy the new shop Tammy and Candy have pooled their money together as Tammy was looking to buy the shop as well but not enough cash they became partners in their new bakery shop.

Their Unexpected Adventures:
By Korkoi -
Elliot was playboy Billionaire, who seemed to be getting bored with the lifestyle. Candy was a workaholic, whose sole goal in life was to succeed at her bakery business. Elliot saw Candy across the room and realised his life as he knew it, would no longer be the same. The back and forth, as well as the strength and determination shown by Candy and Tammy, makes this story an interesting read.
I received a copy of this ARC and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Short, Sweet Rom-Com
I really enjoy Jamie Knight books 📚📖, whether they are short or not so short. She builds the characters and plot and goes into the story. I like this story about Candy a baker who owns a bakery 🥯🧁good read. She built a thriving bakery and has hit a wall. She goes to this auction and meets Elliott and he tells her about the auction. She and Elliot lose track of one another but she and Elliot eventually get back together. Read the story. It's a good read 👍🏾.

I really like the ending but, the journey there was a bit frustrating. Candy can give up her virginity, at an auction to a stranger but, she can't have a conversation explaining herself and her concerns to the very same man. Huh? Especially after spending so much time with him over a few weeks - that doesn't warrant an explanation why you want to cut him loose? Anyway, their happily ever after is sweet and the best part.

For me this was ... meh ... I have read several of this author's books as they are frequently offered free on a few of the lists I am on. Sex is mostly vanilla (YMMV) and safe, so if you are looking for stroke material you need to search elsewhere. A short, fast read that I would not have bought, but was good enough for a free read when I need something mindless.

Jamie Knight did a good job on this story. It had all the things that make for a great book. It has its HEA and of course like the rest of the series. Well worth getting and reading.

Ok
I thought this would be more interesting but it was just an ok read. Candy and Elliot have chemistry but the story is missing something.
