The plots of the other books nicely interlaps with this book. The plot thickens, all tiger aliens wonder what's the deal with the green aliens and humans, the reasoning behind the genome manipulation.
So Grace was the human left behind, her suffering was quite extensive. She was given by the green flaps for a reason the guys that were about the mate the future queen. There is a sinister motive behind their actions. The medic set of brothers take an instant like of her and obsess over her well being.
One big pet peeve- The guys decide to have anal sex quite easy, without asking her, not that she said anything but anal penetration needs time, preparation, dare I say empty bowels? Then to make it worse the have sex in the water - not fun, no lubrication - and double penetration twice in the water? Can we at least try to keep it real?
Ok spoiler ahead

Again, for all the naysayers....this is a series. Books need to be read in sequence. Each story is an alien romance which has a HEA but the series, as an entirety is a suspense, so you must continue reading.

This story is the best so far though I do believe more attention should have been given to Grace’s trauma and the brother’s attempts to alleviate such trauma. It would take more than one chapter. I really really like the reconnect with Ceph from Book 3....and how that led to more questions which of course means more books. Win-win for us fans!

When you’ve lost everything, sometimes its the smallest gestures that will revive your spirits. The three brothers are going to be her saving grace.

THE BLURB

Grace doesn’t know how long she’s been stuck in the cell, harassed and abused by the Ta’Naw. Grace’s nightmare doesn’t end, but she’s not quite willing to give up on life yet.

Then one day she wakes up… in a bed. And there with her are three cat-like men, treating her wounds and caring for her. It doesn’t seem to take long for Grace to start caring for them too.

TONE OF THE BOOK

Our Grace is a fairly neutral toned book, leading towards an edge of seriousness. There is a focus on healing post-trauma.

SENSITIVE TOPICS

This novel is aimed at mature readers.

This novel features no action scenes. However there are a number of scenes that are gory in their description during the time that Grace spends enslaved.

This novel is a reverse harem story, featuring three alien males mating to a singular female human.

SERIES SYNOPSIS

Our Grace is the fourth novel in the Ours series by S. M. Matthews. It is only 133 pages long, making it much shorter than a standard romance novel (at average of 300 pages). It’s closer to a novella in length.

There is a teaser at the end of the novel that will leave you wanting to read the last novel in the series.

REVIEW

Our Grace could be seen as a metaphor of overcoming abuse relationships. The heroine, Grace, has found herself enslaved and abused by the Ta’Naw aliens. She’s fairly promptly rescued, but she’s not without both her outward-physical and inner-emotional scars. The journey begins with her recovery, learning to accept her new life and to seek love once.again. Even the heroes of the story seek out a loving relationship.

The world building is slow, just like previous novels. You will get to see a new space station in this novel, however its much the same (perhaps featuring less of a description) than in the second novel Our Flower. You will get more details towards the overall arch of the world-story, which will leave the reader with even more questions than answers.

There is little tension in the novel; there are no action scenes or particularly high drama moments. The most thrilling part of the novel is in the epilogue, acting as a cliffhanger leading into novel five Our Prisoner. Despite this the pacing is fairly consistent and won’t leave you hanging or just wanting to throw down the book in boredom. You will consistently follow Grace’s recovery over the days before and after arriving at the space station.

FINAL WORD

Our Grace was the saving grace to the Ours series, especially after the third book got such poor reviews. Our Grace brings back the plot tension in the series and starts to bring elements together that has been only hinted at for the last three novels.

I liked the story and the characters.
This one was a bit better than the last one ;) the story felt fresh, because we didn't learn much about poor Grace before. Her circumstances were awful, and she went through a lot while the other women were just kept in stasis. Grace was tested on, abused and held in horrendously small and filthy cage. I loved how her three medic cats kept watch over her and purred to soothe her when she had nightmares. They were really sweet and caring, it was hard to believe that guys like that were engaged to an ice cold bitch like the princess. I liked their relationship, with the exception of Grace's freakout that they didn't love her, because they were forced to be with her by her smell. I think the smell was one thing, it made them physically react to someone so different than them, made them horny and needy, but it wasn't the smell that made them so caring, protective and invested in her happiness. The scene with Ceph made it rather clear to me, that the smell of a human woman could make any male horny, but his reaction when he snapped out of it and the behavior of Grace's mates made me think that all the cats love their mates. If anything happened between Ceph and Grace I think he would be devastated and awfully guilty after.

I couldn't stop reading this one! I stayed up all night, consuming these people and their situations, it was impossible for me to just walk away! Grace is put through so much torture, and it was described so graphically yet so matter of fact like, that that in itself made it so compelling, like reading Holocaust survivor stories that tear at your heart as they make a home in your head. She deserved a happy ending, and her doctor trio deserved happiness too. The mystery about the humans and the government involvement certainly is a strong undercurrent that's getting stronger as their series progresses. I am loving this series, it's full of intrigue, and alien love with unique equipment, all wrapped around a tightly written plot. Of course, I'm absolutely reading the next book too, at the end, the sheznit just got real!

The end of this book made me sad for two reasons: 1) Ceph wanting to take Grace because of her scent even though he's mated, and 2) Old Man Conspiracy Theorist is dead and his human and his brothers' outlook is pretty bleak.

I am somewhat confused by Ceph's behavior though...unless it was just because he was close and smelled her? Grace, Maisy, and Poppy have all been around other males and none of them had the same reaction. Plus, they had all the females in their ship and they didn't want all of them... I don't know, it was disappointing because I love true/fated mates stories and I don't want this to get all F'ed up.

Overall, I've really enjoyed this series- (spoilers ahead)

BUT
this book made me unhappy. Having a guy from a previous book get all growly and into another human because of her smell made me doubt the bond the others have :( Talk about ruining something special. I still plan to read book 5 - because at this point I need to but if smell alone triggers them that's disappointing. I don't want them to be into any human I NEED them to only want a certain human!

oh and this book FINALLY puts those 2 D's to use.

Now we're getting somewhere!

This was one of my favorite books in this series. Extra sexy sexy times, a little drama catch up with some of the other characters and a bit more on the story arch. I am caught now and interested to see the story play out.

The books in this series are short so they are a good quick read, I wouldn't go for this if you want to be lost in a world but are enjoyable for a novella.

Cute, similar to the others in the series. These MMCs are practically indistinguishable from each other, honestly. I’m getting a little impatient at the “last pages hinting” every book, where they hint at the interesting plots we never get to see. I don’t love the revelation that the cat guys only love their mates because of their smell. Also hate Ceph coming into Grace at the end! So glad I DNFed that book,

I wish it had a much plot as the first 2 books, but at least it was better than the 3rd. I found myself skimming thru most of the seed stuff because it seemed like filler. The relationship issues could have been interesting, but rather than delve into it, the author sort of covered it up with more sex.
Decent characters, though, and the series story arc still had me wanting to read the next book.

Grace

Ok so I really enjoy those stories but I keep feeling like they are cut short. Please keep these stories going. I really want to know what happens next. Also I want to know what happens with the other characters in this series that have been in the previous books. Great series so far highly recommend!

note to self: don't read the book that comes before this one. one of the Hs in the previous book has a weird little moment with this book's heroine, even though he's mated to the previous book's heroine.

i wish this hadn't ended on a cliffhanger. it seems to be a continuous problem in this series, that the endings aren't satisfactory.

Awesome characters. It's a bit annoying that stuff happens at the end or in the epilogue. But thankfully the whole series is out as far as I can see. So I hope the next book will be a good final part.
Grace was great and so believable. I do like this authors way of describing his characters and letting them grow.

Will Someone Please Tell the Author

Interesting space opera story and good sex scenes. However, there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LATHE AND LAVE. Every time lathe appears in the text its like biting into a lemon.

This is a good series. It's interesting in how the girls are all connected from being abducted. But even though the series is all interconnected it never really finalizes. I wonder if there will be more. Medium Burn - Great sex

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Poor Grace! She had it the worst of all the abducted females. She did pull though beautifully throughout this book though. Maisy also made an appearance and that always makes the book better.

These books are getting more and more interesting. I love how each book has a piece of what happened in the other books when the women meet. I can't wait to see what happens next.

enjoyable but getting a bit samey

I really like this series. The overarching storyline is interesting and I want to know what is going on. However, the individual storyline is very similar to the other books. I think I might need a break before book 5.

What a way!

Grace certainly had the roughest time of it so far, but this last hook leading to the next story has more questioning what went on with Old Man Conspiracy Theory.

Whilst I liked this story...

It still had an overabundance of the word, "whilst". Liked the hint of intrigue at the end and still love the dual peened catliens!

Oooh, was this good. Our FMC is the one who was tortured by the abducting aliens. This is caretaking at its finest.

Technically, there is OW drama, but they aren't really in a romantic relationship with her-it's a political alignment. They haven't even gone through the mating ceremony.

The writing remains choppy and completely unedited, but is improving somewhat. Either that or I'm just getting used to it.
