-19 is a book set in a post-apocalyptic setting that centers around a developing society fighting for survival.
The book was enjoyable for me personally because of the linear storytelling and emphasis on action.
I enjoyed the characters and their development throughout the story. There were also touches of realism that further pulled me into wanting these characters to survive & grow.
Having the story mainly revolve around Scout & Malcolm was great in my opinion. I truly felt for these two characters and appreciate how much of an impact they made on the story and the future of this world.
At the end of the story I found myself still curious and a bit conflicted that there were some unanswered questions. However, Atkinson did a great job leaving it off with a note that even though there are unanswered questions and uncertainty, we take "one day at a time".
