The World Religions Reader is an inclusive, student-friendly examination of the history, teaching, practices, and appeal of the world's major religions. It's a good overview of the essentials of each religion (judging from the "Christianity" chapter), and found the first chapter, "Secular Humanism," to be an intriguing addition.
Although, I don't think the editors were entirely fair to Islam (Why would you include a piece from Osama bin Laden, condoning violence, when you claim to be representing what is beautiful in each religion?).
