He thought he wanted his freedom and his solitude more than anything else in the world… until he met her. Xavier Salazar lives the life that he wants. He has his friends and his home carved into Mystic Mountain. It’s his retreat, his refuge. When a gorgeous woman shows up in town to help make the resort’s bar a brilliant success, he’s torn. Xavier is determined to drive her away, but his panther wants to touch her all over, hide her away in their den, and add to the family that he was slowly creating around himself.
Oh, he was going to fight… hard. And yet, even he knew he was probably fighting a losing battle.
True Sinclair is at the top of her profession. Being a world class mixologist means she knows how to blend all kinds of things together. She just can’t fathom why Xavier treats her like he’s oil and she’s water. There was no doubt that he was combustible around her.
At first, he can’t seem to force himself to be civil or even make an effort to share the same town, but she finds herself drawn to the dichotomy warring inside of him.
True knows what he is and she knows what she wants, but she won’t wait around forever if the man who makes her blind with love and drunk with passion won’t even meet her halfway.
Love will always find a way Oh my wow! This book is so fantastic. The author set us on a course to use our brain throughout the story to try and see the thread of the past buried in the present. I love the little hints of what is going on through the storyline, but we have to wait until the very end for the big reveal moment. As always, her characters have a depth that makes them jump right off of the pages. There are the hot alpha males we love so much, with their lady loves with just enough backbone to not get railroaded and the friends who are the family they created for themselves, and plenty of those steamy scenes that she does so well. And the links to the Sylvan City series make me want to go back and reread every book. I don't know who she is going to bring into Locke's life, well with the help of Celeste, but I know it will be his perfect match. And I can't wait to read all about it when she takes us back to Mystic Mountain once again.
This is another must read from Reina. This is the second book in the series and honestly, if you thought the first book was hot, then this one is even better. Mystery, suspence and intrigue all wrapped up in one story... just wow. What i also liked about this is that the prologue gives a little more insite of how Celeste is going with her so hot mate Aaron.
True Sinclair has got a job at Mystic mountain, finally to be out of her Uncles house, she arrives at her destination, only to feel as if she is finally home. After meeting Arron he takes her into the bar and she cant help but stare at this wonderful man and it seems as if hes a panther, a grumpy one at that. Xavier is always on the grumpy side but when he sees True his animal says OURS. But no matter how he feels he promised he uncle he would never find his mate.
These two have a wonderful story and a truely exciting HEA one that you really dont want to miss.
This book was absolutely phenomenal and I absolutely fell in love with Xavier and True. Reina Torres made you step into a world of shifters and completely made you feel like you where there with them and connected to their emotions, chemistry and connection and this is absolutely due to the brilliant writing from Reina.celeste hires True to be a mixologist aka bartender for new Destination resort for shifters ,but when she meets Xavier something passes between them but xavier wants nothing to do with women. True believes she a human but there's more to her. When True starts having nightmares and things start to change with xavier can keep his distance from her or will his panther get his way? This book was absolutely fantastic and lets just say once you start reading you will not be able to stop. I absolutely loved it and still want more.
Xavier has shut himself off from the world because he believes that everyone he loves will die and he is better off alone. His panther has other ideas about this theory when he meet True. True has come to Mystic to bring her mixology knowledge to the bar in the Hotel Aaron and Celeste are trying to renovate and bring back to at thriving business. True feels like she has come home and has these weird images at times that are like she is a different person. Xavier feels like he needs to keep to himself because of the past. His uncles broken heart and a promise made to not fall in love play heavy on him. The chemistry between these two is off the charts, then throw in the growly panther who has his own opinion on the subject of True its laughable at times but heart wrenching at others when we see True in danger. Great read with a good story line. Cant wait to see what happens to Locke meets True’s best friend.
Xavier Salazar lives his live avoiding being social and scared of love. He has a few friends and that's the way he likes it. When True Sinclair comes to Mystic Mountain to help Celeste and Aaron with the bar, his life is turned upside down. He tries his best to avoid her, but he is fighting a losing battle against himself. True is a great mixologist and is excited to be on her own, away from her family back in Sylvan City. Always treated like the unwanted family member, Xavier's snarly attitude does not help, neither does the endless nightmares she is plagued with.
This story takes an unexpected turn when the past comes back and an evil uncle tries to resurrect an old love.
I really enjoyed Xavier and True's story. A great read.
I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is Book 2 in the Mystic Mountain series. Xavier has the life that he wants in Mystic Mountain. He’s has his friends, solitude and his furniture making. That’s all he wants in life. Then True shows up and sends him running. True is a mixologist (extremely fancy bartender) and has been hired to work at the new Mystic Mountain Resort. She finds more than she bargains for. She’s always had dreams but now they are coming all the time and she doesn’t understand why. But she does understand some of the so-called dreams that she has with Xavier in them. Those are the ones she wishes would come true; the other ones just are scary. This is a fun read that I highly recommend to anyone who likes a good paranormal story. I can’t wait for the next book for more exciting reads from this author. She just keeps getting better with all her books!
This is the second book in the Mystic Mountain series. I enjoyed it very much. Reina Torres has a way with words that will leave you riveted to the story. True came to the town of Mystic to be the bartender at the exclusive shifter resort with an awesome bar that she is in charge of. She couldn't wait to leave her home town. She never felt like a part of her family. That's all changed when she moved to Mystic Mountain. The only fly in the ointment is Xavier. For some reason, he seems to not like her. Nothing could be farther from the truth. He is afraid to let himself acknowledge his feelings for True, thinking he would hurt her emotionally. Can they figure out how to get the HEA they deserve before it's too late? Get this book ASAP and find out. Sorry, no spoilers.
Xavier is the second in Reina Torres's Mystic Mountain shifter series. Xavier Salazar is a panther shifter who's lived his life on Mystic Mountain, and because of significant losses at an early age, he's determined to guard his heart because his family's heartbreak has shown him that love will always wreck you. True Sinclair is the new resort's mixologist, and Xavier struggles to keep his panther under control. Because the attraction is so fierce, he pushes True away just as fiercely, using hostility as protection against the chemistry threatening to burst into flames.
Ms Torres also weaves in more of a suspense and paranormal plotline, with elements of Xavier and True's pasts coming to light throughout. Xavier's a page turner, and an entertaining romance.
Love the way the story was written about shifters and witches. Kept you guessing what was going on. True came to Mystic Mountain for a fresh start and to get away from her family. Xavier is a panther, and he's been lonely and grumpy. When his uncle killed himself, he told his nephew to never give his soul to another. So he was keeping his distance from True which was hard to do. When her past comes back to haunt her he is terrified he's going to lose her. This story is funny, witty, dangerous and HEA.
I really liked this book with the witches and shifters. True comes to Mystic Mountain to start over and get away from her family. Xavier is a panther who is lonely and grumpy. True starts having more dreams now that she lives there. What do they mean? Love the characters and the way they are together. This book keeps you guessing what's going on till the end. There are twists and turns, suspense. Will the past meet up with the future? This book will keep your attention. Can't wait for the next one.
It’s a fantastic Story Xavier and True really sizzle together. True comes to Mystic for a new start. Xavier feels an instant connection to True from the moment they meet. Even his panther wants her. He tries to fight it. But True is irresistible. True doesn’t understand Xavier. He’s pretty hot and cold. Well, mainly HOT and she wants him more than her next breath. Secrets, twists and turns and a love that will last a lifetime. I can’t wait for the next one in this series... Locke’s story “I voluntarily received this arc book for an honest review”
Meow, man what a cat, love leopards and the cover is enough for one to swoon. Well not only the cover made me swoon, but so did the story. Xavier, did not have the easiest of child hood and growing up was not easy either, but the fact that he would not mate was enough to make any one weep. True steps into his life like a hurricane sweeps across any thing, fighting her does him no good, as he joins her and admits that he cares, he discovers that something is messing with True. Will they survive the storm that is heading their way.
A Wonderful Shifter Romance . I really enjoyed reading Xavier . This is book two in Mystic Mountain series . True Sinclair is a world class mixologist . She comes to Mystic Mountain Resort to work . Xavier Salazar fights his attraction and his Panthers idea of claiming his mate True Sinclair . True doesn't understand why Xavier treats her so bad . Xavier needs to get past his issues or he may loose his mate for good . Danger has come knocking . This story is very suspenseful and intriguing I highly recommend reading .
I was given an ARC of this book for my honest opinion. With that being said....
I love this book! The way that True and Xavier came together to find their love was so amazing. A little hard in the beginning but every great love story has it's it's and downs. When the dreams were introduced, I was a little confused. It took me a while to figure it out. But the adventure of the bar....can I have a recipe book please!! Book 3 can't get here soon enough!! Way to go Reina!
Xavier is a panther shifter and never wanted to settle down until he met True. True is new to Mystic mountain and she's there to get a new start. I loved that no matter how much Xavier fought his feelings for True his panther fought even harder for her. I loved the connection and the banter between Xavier and his panther. This is a well written shifter romance with well developed characters and a story with magic, fated mates and a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
All you want to do in life is avoid the people who call themselves your family. You find a new place, a new home where you will be accepted for who your are by people who care for you. That is what Mystic Mountain is all about. Love, family, friends, protection and care. This is an original story with characters you can fall in love with. This story has all the feels and so much more. I loved it. If you like shifters this the story for you.
What a story where the past is tangled with the present. Enjoyed True and Xavier. Both had things to figure out with plenty of twists, turns and surprises along the way. It will definitely keep your attention with the storyline and depth to the characters. Can't wait for more from this series. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mystic Mountain Resort Aaron Winters and friends (Xavier n Locke) built this resort for shape shifters. The newly hired bartender for the resort was True Sinclair. When introduced to Xavier there was sparks. It was interesting how Xavier didn’t want a woman in his life because of his childhood experiences; His panther animal new True was his mate.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Loved this book! I was totally in right from the start. I loved the characters and their story. Never a dull moment! I was kept on the edge of my seat! I love the Mystic Mountain world. Xavier and True are perfect for each other. Could not put it down. Job well done! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance reader copy from the author.
Strong, grumpy, handsome Xavier has met his match in the True sense but in order to save her he will have to confront his and Trues past. And what a steamy, page turning, heart racing, all of the feels love story this author takes us on. Loved it!!😍😍😍😍😍
Though this is not typically one of my preferred genres, I was riveted from the beginning. Xavier and True's story is sweet, steamy, entertaining, and surprising. I can't wait to go back and read book 1 now.
My favorite book by Reina Torres!! I could not put it down. Xavier and True were great characters. There were a few twists that I didn't see coming. Definitely recommend this to any PNR reader. Can't wait for Locke's book!!
True arrived in Mystic and Xavier tried to stay away from her. His panther wants her, pushed him to get her. He resists the push. Can True win his heart? Can True end her nightmares? Well they find each other? So many questions, such a great story.
Emotionally thrilling, sexy, fun and action packed adventure filled with engaging and exciting charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. Really enjoyed this thrilling journey.
I really enjoyed this book, it swept me through a lazy Sunday at home. I loved the Characters and the way the story kept me guessing what was going to happen. I'm really enjoying these stories from Mystic Mountain and can't wait to see what happens next.
