Can She Start Over Again ? . . .

Sue Jewel should be dead. She opened her eyes on her 40th birthday to find herself alive and in the hospital. She told the doctor she didn’t remember anything, but she vividly remembered every detail. She tried to lie to Detectives Price and Sanchez, but the reality is her husband had prepared everything to murder her, wrapping her in plastic and stuffing her in the trunk. The truth is that he was abusive for many years, and she was ashamed that she let it happen and never was strong enough to get out of the situation. But Fate steps in to save her life when her husband winds up dead in an accident.

And yet she still feels his oppressive presence in the house, smells his scent, so she leaves and goes to the town of Freewild Cove to find a new and better life for herself. Will the friends she makes empower her to become the confident woman she wants to be? Will she find the courage inside herself now to be happy? Does she stand a "ghost" of a chance to start over and find acceptance?

The narrator for the audiobook version is Rebecca Cook. She does a great job with the voices to make it easy for the listener to get an accurate idea of what each character is like. It helps to set the mood and is a pleasant way to “read” and enjoy the book.

The Sisters of Magical mayhem are getting a new recruit!

Sue woke in hospital after a bad car crash but she is telling no-one the full truth. Her husband wanted rid of her and decided to kill her, on her 40th Birthday! She'd already put up with so much from the hateful abuser but she just couldn't admit what he had done to her. Even to herself really.

But when her TV is possessed and she finds herself still getting sensory reminders of a%%hat, she listens to the TB and gets herself to Freewild Cove. The first person she meets seems to have stepped off the pavements of Niceville but she can't trust so easy anymore ut she does take his advice and finds the nearby hotel.

Soon Sue meets Heather and the rest of "Julia's girls". Will she take the introduction of magic into her new life? Will she run for the familiar but horror-ridden haunts of the past?

Jameson is just...perfect! He's smart, talented, and more importantly a damn good guy! Just the tonic Sue needs. Sue may think she's broken and not worthy of a HEA but Freewild Cove has a habit of giving the damaged just what they need to become whole again.

I may have snorted slightly when someone had a "coversation" with the Momster-in-law! A great read. Funny, feel-good, magical and downright fab!

Book four in the Order of Magic series chronicling the paranormal lives of the ladies of Freewild Cove,
Lorna, Heather and Vivien continue to hone their psychic skills in contacting and dispatching spirits. As ever, the spirit of Julia Warwick, Grandma to Heather, is there to direct, chastise and assist.

This time we have a new potential friend, Sue Jewel.

Sue is fleeing memories of an abusive and ultimately homicidal husband. Only dumb luck, in the shape of a car accident, kills him and frees her from the car boot, where her husband had stuffed her plastic wrapped ‘body’. She was that close to a shallow grave in an isolated spot!

Unfortunately, his spirit is tenacious and malicious.

The paranormally gifted ladies of Freewild Cove befriend her and try to help.

She also catches the eye of the handsome coffee shop owner. Perhaps a new life of happiness is within her reach!

Another great chapter in the paranormal lives of the ladies of Freewild Cove as they seek closure and the possibility of a future loving relationship.

Excellent narration.

Sue finds herself waking up in the hospital on her fortieth birthday to find that she is lucky to be alive but lies about what happened to her. She has serious injuries and is recovering in the hospital and when she finally gets home to her house, it is like the house is possessed by her husband she could smell, taste, and feel the man she had been married to. Sue saw an ad on the tv and it encouraged her to go to Freewild Cove, NC. Just so happens the bus she is on stops right in the town of Freewild Cove and a nice looking man tries to talk to her at the gas station and she does respond but doesn't trust him and walks away but he offers her a ride she declines and walks. The next day she makes her way to the Theatre that she saw in the magazine she was looking at on the way there. She finds her way to Heather's house and she meets the three strong women and her life changes again. A great storyline, with excellent characters I was given an ARC via BookFunnel without obligations. I volunteered an honest review.

Sue Jewel finds herself in the hospital after a serious car wreck. The fact that her psychopathic husband had wrapped her in plastic and stuffed her into the trunk of the car before wrecking said car, was not a great 40th birthday present.
She walked away and he didn't.
Meanwhile, it seems like something supernatural and very dark is haunting her.
She somehow makes it to Freewild Cove and meets a few others like her that needed a new start on their lives. Including the handsome coffee shop owner.
Sue finds much more about the supernatural than she bargained for....

This is the fourth book in this midlife paranormal women series, in which Sue Jewels survives a car crash, though her husband Hank dies, and after messages from a haunted TV set, she flees to Freewilde Cove, meeting Heather, Lorna and Vivienne, women who’ve all discovered new powers.
They each hold a ring of dead psychic medium Julia Warwick, and through the rings they are linked together to become support for each other and other women in need.
Though Hank is dead, he’s still causing trouble and objects to Sue meeting hot bookstore owner Jameson.
This book touches on domestic abuse and handles it really well, and Sue is a nice fit into the series.
There are moments of humour, passion, romance and danger.
Terrific stuff.

Midlife comeback Indeed!
This was the first series I’ve read from Michelle (great name of course!) but I can’t wait to read more by her! If this book and series doesn’t inspire you to stand up, grab life by the balls, and make t your own, nothing will! These ladies may be “midlife” but there is NOTHING midlife about them! With a mischievous ghost grandma, they are just getting started! The only negative is waiting for the next one!

Yeah, Sue is in need of help and Julia decides to give her a spiritual intervention. You will be brought to tears with Sue's story, yet I think you will be uplifted as well. Sue has to go thru "hell" and not only does she remember what she's made of, but she learns the true meaning of sisterhood in the process.

Let the mayhem begin!! Whoa this installment was such a witchy book. I absolutely loved it. The narrator, Rebecca Cook brought the characters to life for me. The variety of inflections she used were wonderful and easy to follow. I came to love Sue and I loved how the girls circled around her.

I love it! I have to say I was hooked by the end of the first book! I went back & bought the whole set! Well, all the ones I could get in paperback, I am still waiting for the last one to be available to me. When it is I'll get it too! Sue wakes up in a hospital to learn her abusive husband is dead. She is lucky to be alive. There had been a car accident, she had been thrown from the car when her husband, Hank, had hit a semi & run off the road. Since she had been wrapper in plastic & shoved in the trunk, she had managed to survive. Hank had decided she was too old & was going to kill her. She told the cops she didn't remember anything. She didn't want anyone to know what had happened. No one would believe her anyway. Everyone thought he was the greatest guy. He never hit her where it showed. She starts sensing things about him that shouldn't be there. The smell of his cologne around her, anything she eats tastes like the liquor he used to drink. She thinks it has to do with the head injury she got from the car wreck. When she gets home she finds a ring that isn't hers in her clothes. She tries it on but it won't come off. She keeps getting a message from her tv about Freewild Cove, North Carolina. She turns it off, it comes back on. She unplugs it & walks out to hear it come back on playing the same thing, she comes back into the room to see the tv plugged back in & her remote floating above her couch. She turns it off & unplugs it. She is getting a little too freaked out. She throws some clothes in a suitcase & leaves. When she gets to a bus stop, she buys a ticket but doesn't care where. She is just glad she remembered to grab her purse on the way out. She had gotten a twenty thousand dollar wife severance pay check & put it in her purse to take care of it. She knew Hank hadn't taken it .out for her, just to make it look like he was. He was always up for appearances. She has been sitting next to a teenager who has been taking up a lot of room & bumping into her playing video games during the ride. One of the other passengers offers her a magazine to read, she sees an ad about the Warrick Theater & a little bit of it's history. She might have passed it but the design on the drawing looks like the design on the ring she is wearing. Again she sees Freewild Cove, N. C., this is getting too weird. She sees a little about Heather Harrison. After being on an almost 12 hour bus ride the bus broke down near a gas station. The driver told everyone to go ahead & stretch their legs. She met Jamison Lloyd, he asked about the bus she told him she thinks engine trouble. When she asks where they are, he tells her Freewild Cove. She asks about Heather, & he tells her she just moved into her new house. This must be where she is suppose to be, it is too scary but everything is steering her here. She asks about a motel. He tells her. He leaves & she goes to get her suitcase, & go get a room. After she is booked in, she tries to get some sleep but has a hard time because the things about her dead husband seem to get stronger. The next day she goes to Heather's house to try to find out what is going on. Heather is about to go in when Sue stops her & tells her she knows it sounds crazy but she thinks she is supposed to be here. She shows her the ring. Lorna & Vivian come out with Heather to bring her in. Sue doesn't want to believe in ghosts but she can believe in magic after everything that has happened to get her here. She doesn't want anyone to know what Hank did to her but Viv is Psychic, so she already knows. After she kind of explains what she has happening to her Lorna tries to ease her problem by transferring some of the pains between them. She blacks out so they put her upstairs for the night. The next morning she comes down & finds she is able to eat again without it tasting horrible. It won't last too long. They try to explain the rings to her & that the ring she has is now hers. She is now one of them. She doesn't have a lot of trust for people after her husband. They decide the best way to explain is to have Julia explain it herself. She doesn't want to move in with them, so they get her to take the apartment over the theater. They go to the theater & get her settled in but tell her there are security cams & if she needs them let them know. She has had her phone charged & checks messages but almost all of them are from her mother-in-law, Kathy, berating her for not getting back to her. She is always talking about her perfect son, she wants Sue to find his cufflinks. Then there is a call from the police department, Kathy has called them, telling them she is an addict & might harm herself. She calls the police to tell them she is on a trip, she is safe. They ask for an address to have an officer check on her. She gives it, but asks that Kathy is not given the address. She is told they will have an officer check her in the morning. Late that night she takes a walk & sees Ace, the cat trying to get into the bookstore next to the coffee shop. She pushes on the door to show him he can't get in. The door swings open & he runs in. She goes in after him so they don't get into trouble. While she is trying to find him. Lloyd walks in, & she tries to explain what happened. He tells her Ace kind of has his home base there. It turns out Lloyd owns the coffee shop next door & is doing inventory. She goes in to help him keep track with the counting. When they are finished he gets a coffee card & punches it for a free latte. She tells him she is sticking around & is staying in the apartment over the Warrick Theater. She walks back & when she goes in she sees Hanks reflection in the glass of the door. She is so freaked out, She tries to trip the security cams. Heather, Lorna & Viv are almost right there. When they get there Hank's reflection is gone & they decide to ask Julia what to do, since she is the one who would know. Heather sets things up on the stage to call her grandma to them. When they join hands they all know what has happened. They share each others thoughts, they all let her know that in no way was that her fault. They are surprised by the Julia they get this time. They have gotten a few different ones when they have talked to her. Grandma Julia, 1920's bootlegging Julia, dancer Julia. Now they have a 10 yr old Julia! They tell her they want a more mature one. She tells them Sue will have to do somethings herself. Then she is gone, it doesn't give them much to work with. She sees Hanks reflection again & wonders if it would Heather would be upset if she broke the window. While they are all standing there it shatters. They are wondering what happened, she thinks maybe she did it. She is wishing she could clean it up, it repairs itself. Now they know what her power is. They decide to stay with Sue tonight. The next morning she decides to go get coffee for all of them. When she gets to the coffee shop she sees a long line. She sees Ace in the bookstore window & goes in. He leads her to a couch where she sits down to pet him. He knocks over some papers she starts to pick up. The owner, Melba, comes over & Sue tries to explain. Melba tells her the signs are right, & goes on to say she is selling the book store but will stay on for 5 yrs, to train the next owner. Sue is wondering why she is telling her this, but Melba tells her the paper is in that stack & she found it, Ace is a good judge of character. She names a price & Sue remembers the check she has in her purse. She feels a good thing in this town. She tells her she will have to open a bank account but she will take it. She goes next door to get the coffee. She asks to see Lloyd. She goes into the office to tell him she bought the bookstore & they end up on his desk. He asks her on a date & she says yes. She then gets coffee & heads back to the theater. She gets back to then with their coffee & tells them that she bought the bookstore. They go back to their house to talk thins over. Jan comes in & asks about the angry looking man with Sue. Heather is shocked she didn't sense him. They decide to get rid of him. They go back to the theater. They exorcise him. Later Viv comes with a lot of clothes to help her get ready for her date. When she left, she only grabbed a few things & threw them in the suitcase. As she is trying things on, Kathy calls to yell at her. Viv answers the phone. She tells her to quit calling or they are going to tell every television reporter what kind of person her "perfect" son really was & what he did & tried to do to Sue. Viv hangs up. She then tells Sue to sell the gold cufflinks Kathy keeps ranting about & everything else that is up there. They will get a lawyer to sort it out & a realtor to deal with the house quick as possible. She goes home. Sue gets dressed up for her date with Lloyd. They go down. She is going out when they hear a noise in the theater. She goes to check it out, Lloyd pulls her back just as lights drop from the ceiling just where she was standing. He tries to stand in front of her & gets thrown across the stage. Heather & Viv run in. Lorna comes down from where the light fixture is rubbing her head. Sue sees her friends hurt & sees Hank in front of her she goes after him trying to hit him. She is not going to let him hurt her friends! She gets him down enough for them to get together to join hands & really exorcise him for good this time! Heather asks Grandma Julia if Hank is gone for real & she says yes. They are all tired & go home. Lloyd & Sue decide to stay in upstairs. 3 months later Sue, Viv, Lloyd are back at her old place getting out what every is hers or she wants. Anything of Hanks that seems valuable they take to sell to put the money into her new book store. The Realtor tells them she only has to sign a few papers then any thing else will only have to be taken care of through mail. They are on their way home to Freewild cove. It's great!

The journey Sue goes on is a powerful journey. She wakes up in the hospital after years of abuse, finally free from her abuser, due to luck (or fate). He was going to kill her but instead winds up dead in an accident. However, just as she thinks she's free...she starts to feel cursed and follows the signs to go to Freewild Cove.

This story really hits home on how any woman, or man, in an abusive relationship feels. She blames herself and thinks others will blame her for not being "strong" enough to leave. When she's finally free...she doesn't want anyone to know her "shame" so she lies to the police about being in the trunk of her car.

When she finds herself with new friends and a new love...she doesn't feel like lying anymore and is protective of those who have been so nice and protective of her. Her strength and ability to still find love made me so happy I had the biggest grin when I was finishing this story.

Michelle did an amazing job bringing Sue in to this world and has done a great job of building up this world. I love the strength of these women and how they build each other up, it is truly inspiring and we all need to be like them.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC edition of this book, and I am giving my honest opinion.

This book starts off with a great way to capture your interest, almost like Sleeping With the Enemy with a big dose of magic. And lets face it, 2020 hasn’t been great for anyone, so I say bring on the magic. It doesn’t hurt that I’m a sucker for a good magical romance story or just about anything written by Michelle M. Pillow.

This book feels like a grown-up fairy tale with some humor thrown in. Sue is given an incredible chance to start a new and better life, though it does have some challenges. Sue—with the support of her new group of loyal, loving and funny friends and an amazingly, wonderful, caring man—overcome her past once and for all and is able to finally live in a happier and better present and future. This book shows that women empowerment is very real, and it doesn’t matter your age or what you’ve been through, you can be powerful.

I would recommend this book, and so would Grandma Julia, and you shouldn’t disobey her. Grab your copy of The Fifth Sense now and enjoy a magical story in your life.

Sue ha sobrevivido a un accidente de tráfico dónde su abusivo marido ha muerto. No contento con todo el daño que le ha hecho hasta ahora la acecha hasta desde la muerte. Sue empieza a recibir señales que la conducen hasta Freewild Cove donde encontrará la ayuda que tanto necesita y quizá un nuevo comienzo.

La verdad que este me ha gustado más que los anteriores.
El instalove se explica como 'conexión mágica'. Los anteriores personajes introducen sus historias sin resultar pesadas y repetitivas como en los anteriores libros.
Y la forma de contarnos los malos tratos que ha sufrido Sue sin contar hechos concretos... solo con menciones sueltas o frases incompletas... todo un acierto.
Sigue siendo una novela bastante corta, así que en mi opinión se podrían desarrollar más y hacer todo un libro sobre esto, pero en este caso no se ha notado tan precipitada como las anteriores.

The Fifth Sense brings Sue Jewel to Freewild Cove. On Sue's fortieth birthday, her abusive husband has tried to kill her. Instead, Sue worked away from the car accident and her husband didn't. But her short long freedom is being endangered by her husband's haunting.

When the readers/listeners met Sue's mother-in-law, it would explain why her husband is a piece of work and how Sue has been kept away from making friends.

Now Heather, Vivian, and Lorna have teamed up to help Sue, especially with Grandma Julie's wisdom to vanish Sue's husband.

The Order of Magic series introduce a different theme in each of the stories. This story portrayed a woman trapped in an abusive relationship where the husband is the pillar of society and the difficulty how the husband's circle of friends and associate dismissed her accusation.

This is one of the reasons of why I loved reading this series. Themes that women faced in many aspects of their lives in which the author addresses in a brief glance through a story.

I love Sue's sense of humor. After making sure of how her husband wants his clothes ironed and house kept, I don't blame her of not wanting her power as a "cleaner".

I did take a bit longer to finish the story. My abhorrence to clowns have put a delay to finish the story during the day.

The narrator, Rebecca Cook has returned in the fourth book of this series. I love the three facets of Julia, her little girl, the young woman, and then the grandmother being portrayed by the author.

Sue and Jameson (and the girls)

She awoke to the beeping of hospital machines and a fierce headache. She ached all over but that wasn't new. She said she didn't remember. The police wanted to help her. Her husband was dead in a car accident. What happened they wanted to know. When she didn't tell her they wanted to know why her blood and hair were in the trunk. Not talking about it. He was dead. Gone. Now what?

He may be dead but was he gone? She smelled him near her. She had strange things happening that chased her out of their home. Where should she go?

So how does she end up in Freewild Cove? Meeting the friends who will help her figure out what is happening to her isn't going to be easy. She doesn't have friends she can depend on. Why would these women help her so much?

In addition to the ghostly shadow following her, they want to help her live a new life. But if her dead husband is still trying to control her it's time to bring in the big guns. The spirit who brought the women together taught them to fight back and sent Sue to them. It's not gonna be easy but if they fight together with their new powers can they defeat the evil spirit?

Sue shouldn't be able to think about another man but when Jameson shows her that most men aren't like her former husband will she give him a chance?

A wonderful show of friendship and love working together. Loved seeing the group adding a new member and watching her gain strength as a woman.

Sue Joins Team Julia

When Sue Jewel turned up at Lorna, Heather and Vivien’s doorstep wearing one of Julia’s rings, they couldn’t do anything but invite her in, they knew Julia would have sent her as something supernatural was happening in her life.

Sue had been drawn to them with messages after she survived the car crash in which her husband had tried to kill her but the tables had been turned and he had been killed.

Meeting the three amazing women who helped her to understand magic and that she herself had magic was a changing point in her life. They believed her when she said she thought her husband was haunting her and after seeing and speaking to Julia, they all realised he needed to be dealt with.

Michelle Pillow has a way with words and the stories she writes are so compelling, filled with emotion, they touch your heart. The story portrays an abused woman in her forties, who could overcome all that had happened in her life. Meeting a sexy coffee shop owner who gave her hope! With the help of Jameson and her new friends she had the courage to stand up to her abusive husband’s ghost and to open her heart to such a wonderful man.

Not forgetting Ace the cat who played a big part in her meeting Jameson and Julia’s ghost who had me smiling at some of her antics. Another fantastic read, highly recommended.

In St Louis, Missouri, Sue Jewel wakes up in the hospital after a car accident, so the dr says. Her husband didn’t survive. Detectives Price and Sanchez question her about being in the car’s trunk. Horrifying things had happened. I just wanna hug Sue. Three months later Hank’s cologne haunted her. She takes drastic measures to get rid of the scent but it comes back. In the bag of her things from the Hospital, she finds an antique ring and puts it on. There goes Julia, boy what she puts poor Sue thru to make her believe. So she goes to Freewild Cove, NC. Dear God, buses don’t have shock absorbers. My back hurts just thinking of sitting in a bus for fifteen plus hours. Julia is just knocking things over like dominoes to get Sue to the Cove. When Sue gets to the Anderson house and meets the gals, I had tears in my eyes and was happy. After finding out what her husband did to her, we’ll, he got off easy! [Starts ranting] lol

I really like Jameson and Ace. Melba is a riot. This book was awesome!.

Sue is new and her story is amazing!

Susan Jewel wakes in the hospital, not wanting to fully acknowledge what had happened to her. The only good thing was that her no good husband was dead. After returning to the home that she and her husband had shared, she found an old ring that she put on. She had a seriously frightening experience involving electronics and a ghost which caused her to hastily flee the home and city. The bus breaks down in Lorna, Vivienne and Heather's town and Sue meets them. From there things move quickly, and Sue has to stop Hank's ghost from damaging her new life, her new friends, her new beau, and her. Can she stop Hank before he really does kill her from beyond the grave?
This book was well thought out and written. The characters engaging, fun and interesting. I loved this book and the entire series. I highly recommend it and the author's other work. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!

This is the fourth novel in the very addictive Order of Magic Series, a ghost story. Sue’s past story is horrifying. After the death of her abusive husband, Hank, fate brings her to Freewild Cove, where she meets Jameson, the handsome, and very protective coffee-shop owner in town, and Vivian, Heather and Lorna, her three amazing new friends, gifted, supportive, and caring. Grandma Julia’s ghost is also a fantastic and colorful supporting character. I like all about this Series and story: the fantastic and mature characters, their supportive friendship, the humor, the paranormal part, the suspense, and the romance. The storyline is very well written, fast-paced, and captivating! I need more! Rebecca Cook did, once again, a fantastic job with the narration. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listen to the Sixth Spell, the next book in the Series. I HIGHLY recommend this captivating Series. If you like Ghost stories, this Series is definitely for you!

Once again we join the gals at Freewild Cove as another member joins their group. Sue Jewel has been in an accident that killed her abusive husband. It was on her 40th birthday when he decided to kill her but managed to do in himself instead. After Sue gets home from the hospital she can smell his awful cologne and taste his bourbon but it takes a bit for her to realize he is haunting her. Then mysteriously one of Julia's rings show up and the tv keeps telling her to go to Freewild Cove. When it all becomes too much she does just that. There she meets Jamison and the girls Heather, Vivian and Lorna and they begin trying to convince her to trust them and that they can help. Can Sue finally get rid of Hank once and for all or will he be the death of her? Check out this imaginative tale to find out.

What a great addition to this series. First off you can read this as a stand alone but why would you. This whole series is great. Second I still love that these women are my age. Third Vivian is still my favorite fictional character ever. She is like me but better. This book is about Sue and I like that she is a great addition to the friends. What I would love is her magical ability in real life. This is a fun, emotional, magical read. So if you love paranormal romance/chick-lit than pick up this great read.

Such a much needed story to tell!

Every story in this series I think is my favorite & then she writes another one that I love even more. Sue has gone through so much in this book. I can't imagine living in her shoes. I mean I can't believe she lived through that homicide attempt. If I was her I would have told the cops the truth! He didn't deserve to die with a good reputation. She knew he was dead so why keep lying for him? It would have definitely kept her mother in law from ever calling her again. I love Viv thank God she took the phone and called her. We all need a Viv in our lives!

I loved this book so much! I've listened to one other in this series and was hooked. Great world building and wonderful characters. The story was fascinating from the start- not only for what Sue survived, but from the paranormal that invades her life in a way that only Michelle M. Pillow can bring justice to. I loved all the "hints" she was getting with the TV and where it lead her- who it lead her to. The danger she was still in when all she wanted was to move on. I was hooked.

Rebecca Cook did a wonderful job bringing these characters to life. The emotion in it. I also liked being able to differentiate between characters.

Cheers to second chances

This series is all about second chances, and this book is no different. Definitely the one with the darkest start I’ve ever read from this author, but it was worth being scared out of my wits.

Julia made me laugh, as did some of the beloved characters from the first books. To say I love the original trio is an understatement, as is my admiration for Sue’s strength. What she went through, how she felt and dealt with it, were masterfully written.

If I could have, I would’ve given much more than five stars!

I love all the characters in this series and Sue Jewel is the new addition in this book. In Sue's journey, she survives abuse and gains caring friends and real love. Her journey takes her to Grandma Julie and the revelation that ghosts exist along with special powers. It's those powers and Grandma Julie's special ring that causes her to follow the signs taking her to Freewild Cove. Those caring new friends (Heather, Lorna and Vivien) along with Grandma Julie help her to get rid of the darkness of her deceased abusive husband. She finds her strength and new magical power and love.

Inner strength...

At the end of the previous book a woman arrived saying all signs pointed her to this place, here we meet Sue and discover what she meant, experience those signs with her, and go on a journey of healing, and grieving unlike any I've been on before -- incredibly powerful, aware of the strength required to get her to their small town in the first place, Heather, Viv and Lorna help Sue reclaim her life and move forward.

This book has laugh out loud moments, a great coffee shop, and the funniest grandma around.

This book was a frightening and well-written story, by an extremely creative author. Sue is being terrorized by the ghost of her deceased, abusive husband. Through magic and some twists and turns, she finds a new life in a small town in North Carolina. This story has a band of supportive women friends (all in mid-life) with magic of their own. I needed to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next, and was relieved that Sue does get to a HEA. There is a positive underlying theme of empowerment.
