Ciara Carter has the gift of Retrocognition, to see the history of an object by touching it. In spite of this, the gift comes with a cost. Life wasn’t easy for Ciara. She was called many names, from crazy to lunatic. Having a thick skin helped block the accusations and move forward. However, when bodies of missing women began to turn up around town, she needed someone to listen to her. She wanted to help put a stop to the murders.
That’s where FBI’s Federal Paranormal Unit member Heath Cooper came in. As an elite member of the Badass Badger Taskforce, it was his specialty to sniff out these murders before their next target became a victim. He’ll soon realize he was in for more than he anticipated, starting with a woman who knew too much not to be involved.
Ciara must trust Heath to prove her innocence. Heath will need her help to solve the crimes. The only problem? The moment he met Ciara he knew she was his mate, and now she’s become the top named suspect of the murders.
Can the two find the real murderer before it’s too late?
With the gift of Retrocognition, Caira Carter can see the history of an object just by touching it, but the gift comes with a cost as Ciara hasn't had an easy life, gets called crazy or branded a lunatic and sometimes worse. When bodies of women start showing up around town, she needs someone to listen to her as she wants to help and stop the murders - not assume she is involved and arrest her. Heath Cooper is a member of the FBI's Federal Paranormal Unit. When he is sent to solve the murders as part of an elite task force he realises he is in for far more than he ever anticipated - as soon as he meets Ciara he knows that she is his mate and that she is innocent of the actual murders - can the two of them work together to solve them before it is too late?
I loved this story which was a merging between a fanatic determined to kill a group of women, Heath finding and gaining the trust of his mate, and them both working to clear Ciara and solve the murders all at the same time. I loved the twists and turns in this story, especially the twist at the end of the story which was not so easy to anticipate. A good story that merged shifters and witchcraft into the same storyline. Easy to read and understand, it was an enjoyable light read that made me smile.
Heath is call to duty with his twin Heather to check out a string of unnatural murders. Heath is a honey badger shifter and in pursuing a murderer. Heath meets a seer and fated mate Ciara Carter. This is a sweet couple, love and a thriller story in one.
I absolutely loved this story! It grabbed my attention from the very beginning and I felt like I was investigating the clues right along with the characters. And what a great cast of characters it was! You've got Ciara who is the psychic who keeps getting visions of the abductions but can't get anyone to believe her even when the bodies start piling up. Then there's Heath, the empath badger shifter with the FPU and his twin sister Heather who get sent to help on the case when things don't add up. Heath know from their first touch that they are mates, and thanks to Ciara's visions, she knows Heath will be in her future. But before they can reach their HEA, they have to figure out who the killer is. What really drew me in was the fact that you couldn't guess how it would end and there were lots of twists and surprises that kept my attention. I have to say that this is probably my favorite shared world and I hope this author writes another story in this world.
This is Ciara and Heath's story. Ciara is a seer even though she tell the local cops about her visions they don't believe. When FPU agent Heath arrives it's a different story. Heath knows their more out there in the human world Heck he's a shifter. So when Ciara tells him of her visions he knows she's being honest. It doesn't hurt that she's his mate also. When the danger comes for it's next victim will Heath be able to solve these murders before it's hits to close to home? I absolutely loved this book.
Read as part of the Federal Paranormal Unit series through Kindle Unlimited. I enjoyed this story once I got past the sentence structure way of writing. Good entertaining plot with likeable characters. Not much background featured on either H but we do get a bit about Ciara. Really want the crappy sheriff dealt with. What a narrow minded pig. Hated the use of the c**t word, really wasn’t needed at all. This author obviously has a series going that is mentioned here a few times.
I love those bad ass badgers. Heath is one hot agent but being an empath means he respects and understands feelings. His twin sister is with him on the hunt for a murderer but a little love with your mate doesn't hurt.
