Amy’s getting married! Yes, that’s right, after all this time, Amy is getting married. But wait…which Amy? Is it Amy Simms or that other Amy? You know the one I mean, Amy-the-ex, Amy Harlan, as in ex-wife of Derek Harlan who himself is currently Amy Simms’ boyfriend? Wedding bells are ringing and necks are being wrung. Ouch, that’s a bad pun, I know. And it just might end up being a bad day for a wedding. Sorry, Billy, but that’s no Idol threat.
Amy’s life is about to change forever and there just might be some till-death-do-us-parting when this pair of lovebirds goes to tie the knot at the altar of love and end up altering their own lives forever.
This is a cozy mystery, and this book is the tenth book in A Bird Lover's Mystery series. The characters in this book was so much fun to get to know. I have not read the other books in this series, but I do not think it took anything away from me reading this book. I love the drama in this book and the mystery in this book. I did not guess who did it in this book, and wow, The ending was so great. This book makes me want to pick up the next book in this book series. I won a kindle copy of this book from a goodreads giveaway, and this review is 100% my own feelings about this book.
Thanks for another Goodreads Give Away! Cozy mystery with believable characters. Spotted a killer early on but this book had a nice twist. Cute series.
This is the 10th in A Bird Lover's Mystery series. I hadn't read any of the first in the series, but I don't think it's critical to the appreciation of this book. The author does a good job of introducing all of the characters and it's easy to feel like you have known them all along.
However, it was kind of hard to get fully behind some of the relationships since I hadn't been with them all along. Amy's relationship with Derek and her friendship with Kim seemed awkward, but again that is likely because I hadn't watched them develop over the first nine books. Amy's neighbor Esther with her Schroedinger's cat may have been my favorite character.
There was a good pool of suspects with some having stronger motives than others. Most of the suspects were incredibly unlikeable, but were well-written enough that I didn't find it annoying to read about them. A couple of excellent and well-hidden clues throughout the story and some good red herrings and twists made it a nicely crafted mystery.
I found the bird loving angle to be unique and really enjoyed the way birds were incorporated throughout the story.
I received this book free as a Goodreads giveaway, but that does not impact my review.
Amy is getting married! But which Amy? Doesn't really matter because the groom gets murdered just minutes before the ceremony.
I don't know much about birds but Ripley had me giggling within pages and then throughout the rest of the story. The protagonist is smart but takes too many chances, which gets her into a lot of prickly situations. Non-stopped fun!
It was a different book for me. I felt like I was missing a lot of the story and that is probably because I have not read the previous books in the series. I didn’t realize it was part of a series. I’m glad it came together but didn’t care for the cliffhanger.
