The royal family of Wagmire is visiting Lollyland! Itty is excited to meet Prince Puppy for the first time. So why doesn’t Prince Puppy seem very excited to meet her? Itty tries to show him all the fun things to do in Lollyland—Starfish Falls! Riding on clouds!—but he turns up his little dog nose at everything. Can the prince and princess ever become friends, or are cats and dogs just too different?
This was so cute! I adored the illustrations. This is a cute friendship story. I appreciated that Itty didn't give up when Pip was so difficult early on - good examples of perseverance. I would have liked Pip's eventual shift to have had more of an impetus. It felt a little abrupt - one moment he was "I have to follow all the rules" and the next was "I can still have fun AND be a prince."
I think the target audience will adore this - and the other books in the series look just as cute.
My daughter just loves this series so of course we have to continue on. We love that there’s pictures to go along with the story and I love that it’s an easy read so she can read it herself too. We usually take turns reading. She did make a suggestion that the pictures need to be in colour so she can see more details ahha. This story taught us that not everything has to be exactly by the book you can modify it to what works best for everyone. We recommend this to anyone who loves reading about cute kitties and their puppy friends.
Princess Kitty has Prince Pip, a puppy, as a royal guest, but he is very tied to the rigid "rules" of being a prince. Princess Kitty teaches him a little something about having fun and getting more satisfaction out of life by staying true to yourself. Another cute entry in this series for early elementary readers; I like the way it refers back to the previous books, making her story an ongoing one.
Great bedtime stories for my 5-year-old. In this one, it's a great illustration of what kind of leader one can choose to be: the leader who follows rules and keeps themself distant from their subjects. Or a leader who's one with the subjects, leading by example and with kindness. We really enjoyed this one.
There’s a great message in this book: you don’t have to change yourself for anyone or anything (like a job). You can still maintain who you are no matter what you do. I love how Itty reassured Pip that it is okay to be yourself. This is such a charming series!
Cute book series. Just the right amount of depth and sweetness to be reading with my daughter—who amazingly at four loves this series and whose attention span has surprisingly been captivated by a chapter book with excellent pictures!
When the royal family from Wagmire comes to visit with their puppy Prince, Itty is hoping to make a new friend and show him all the fun spots in her kingdom. But he is obsessed with following the royal rule book! Very fun addition to this series. I love Itty's friends.
I am so happy I found this book. I like when Itty was dancing in Chapter 10 Friends Forever. She was dancing because she had to make up steps to a new dance.
