The original Powertools crew is back in a brand new series!
Starting over is never easy. Especially when it means leaving your friends and lovers behind.
Separation anxiety gives Morgan second thoughts about defecting from Powertools, making things rocky between her and her husband Joe. A visit from the crew, who attend a wedding at their friends’ motorcycle garage, Hot Rides, could change everything.

At the end of the festivities, who will stay and who will go?
This is a standalone book set in the Powertools universe. All your favorite Hot Rods and Hot Rides characters will be making appearances as well. Some come make new book boyfriends or hang out with old ones.

There is something so satisfying about picking up a book and being thrust back into a world and reading how beloved characters have evolved and grown since first reading their story. That’s just what I felt after reading Drilled and catching up with the Powertools gang and how they’ve loved each other and lived their best lives. And that they’re still looking out for each other—willing to sacrifice their own happiness to make sure others are happy too.
But also maybe realizing that perhaps the sacrifice isn’t needed—perhaps what makes one happy will be what makes the rest of the group happy too. That perhaps a new path and new life can be what’s in store for their future.
This is just what happens with Mike and Kate and the rest of the Powertools. That through Joe’s desire to be closer to his family, perhaps his move toward independence can open doors to a future that none of the Powertools predicted.
I loved revisiting with the gang. Loved to see that even after all their years together, their love and relationship was still going strong. That their bond was seemingly unbreakable even over distance. I loved seeing Mike and Joe work together and plan for the future—especially after Kate’s bombshell reveal.
I can’t wait to see how the Powertools forge ahead with this potential change and to see how they gel with the Hot Rods and Hot Rides gang when and if they’re co-located in Middletown. ~ Missy, 5 stars
Change is never easy whether it be good or bad. The power tools crew is showing us firsthand the roller coaster ride of emotions that can come when change happens to people that are bonded in more ways than most.
Kate and Mike, the couple that started it all, are the main focus of Drilled. Mike is not just their Forman, lover and leader, he carries the voice of reason In many aspects and always lends willing hand to any of the crew in need. When an accident happens on Joe’s new crew in Middletown and he feels the weight of the world on his shoulders he calls the one man that will give it to him straight and will understand. Mike!
Mike heads to Middletown a few days early to help Joe and soon realizes why Joe was so torn with his recent decisions. Kate informs Mike of a change coming and the emotions just continue from there. Whether they be all in one room or miles apart the crew will always be the crew. Bonds tighter than tighter, emotional intimacy and a family beyond blood. Then a tragedy hit home causing the crew parts on extremely emotional terms, yet in the height of this tragedy a new opportunity just may be on the rise.
Drilled is an emotional and sexy tale of the Crew continuing their lives and the changes that face this bonded group. Surprises come in many shapes and forms and Drilled is another enjoy part of their journey.
Polyamory never looked so good! I have enjoyed every Powertools book that I've read and this one is no exception. Jayne has a way with making duos and trios come together in clusters that just fly off the pages and look so inviting. It's worth considering a move to Middletown for anyone!
In this book, which you should read the first book of Powertools: Original Crew Returns before this one (if you can), hard decisions continue to present themselves for some members of the crew. Mike and Kate have some big happenings but they aren't the only ones. Some of the big changes should be really good and exciting, some devastating.
Those items aside, the crew does find ways to come together for some steamy good times with m/m, m/f, m/m/m/f and other combinations. Often my favorite parts! I love the variety and the affection they all have for one another. I can't wait to see what happens next!! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
At the end of Screwed I was curious to see how Joe and Morgan’s decision to move would affect not only their own relationship, but their relationship with the Powertools crew and I have to say, I liked how everything played out and how at the end of this book, decisions were made, but nothing is fully set in concrete, so the possibility of more changes is still wide open for the Crew in the future.
As for the Powertool crew. We get a bit more time with Kate and Mike, along with Joe and Morgan and how the decision made has affected their relationship and while I knew that there would be conflicting emotions all around, there were times where I wanted to reach into the Kindle and Gibbs smack them all, even as I reminded myself that change can suck at times. But the funny thing is that while we get a lot of these four, it was Devon who stood out to me because of how she seemed to be rolling with the punches better than anyone and I just liked how she stepped up to the plate on numerous occasions.
I’ll admit that I’m still working on keeping track of who is with who, and maybe one day I’ll have it down, but I’m still enjoying watching as they all navigate this new norm they are in and cannot wait to see what happens next for them in Grind.

Drilled is the second book in The Original Crew Returns series. It takes us back to the Powertools Crew years after their original bonds and beginnings. I do suggest reading these in order. It will make sense without reading the Hot Rods and Hot Rides series, though these characters appear in this series also.
Joe, Morgan and their kids have left their home by the Powertools for the summer (at least) so Joe can act as foreman on the construction of a home for his cousin, Eli and his husband, wife and their Hot Rods friends and lovers. An accident happens at the construction site that leaves Joe in doubt of his leadership skills as a foreman. Mike, who is the Powertools foreman, comes out for a week to help his best friend, Joe, find his footing, confidence and go over the plans and details of the build. Soon Mike's wife, Kate joins them with big news. By the end of the week, the whole Powertools gang is in Middleton for a wedding of a triad from the Hot Rides.
Tragedy happens back home in their absence and the Powertools need to split up again to deal with life. Mike and Kate begin to wonder if their family and future might be in Middleton too. They can't bare the thought of leaving Dave, Kayla, James, Neil and Devon behind and their hearts are torn. Will the Powertools be broken apart or might the answer be a move for all of them across a few states? Enjoy the sexy fun and emotional ties of the Powertools couples and triad as they love each other through good times and bad times.
From the very first page, I was sucked into the action and the drama and the emotion that always comes through in a Jayne Rylon book, along with copious amounts of shmekshay time, of course! Jayne always does an amazing job of keeping the emotions real and tangible, and weaving a story that keeps you engaged and enthralled until the very last page. And in Drilled, she has us hooked on the continuation of Joe's new adventure, and from the start, I feel for him. Joe, the sweet cinnamon roll that he is, has put so much pressure on himself, just wanting to be the best, to prove himself, and I just want to give him the biggest hug! And Mike and Kate, they're like glue! I adore them together, and they remain so hot and steamy! And then you have the other couples; each have their strengths, and all nine of the crew always come together so perfectly! I love how much all members of the crew and their families love one another; it is there in every interaction, familial, platonic, or perhaps more heated and steamy, and Jayne always writes it excellently! Drilled definitely works best when read after Screwed, and it has left off with me waiting (im)patiently for the next book! I have an inkling about what direction things might be going in, and if that's where the amazing Ms. Rylon takes it, it's going to be phenomenal! If you're looking for a sweet, shmekshay, steamy, read, look no further! The Powertools, and all of the various series by this author will always fit the bill!
Oh, how I love these characters! They are all a little older, somewhat wiser, and all so perfectly aligned that one small thing can throw their world off-kilter. Mike and Kate are our focus for this book, though you know in the Powertools polyamorous world, you get a lot of everyone. Mike is in charge, always has been, always doing what is best for his crew, but now, what if he was overlooking things? Kate is missing her best friend and questioning a lot in her life as well. Mike and Kate are solid, but what if the world they have been building needs some renovating…. Never fear, Mike is still in charge, and just needs to make some tough decisions.
One line, at a wedding, when the Powertools, Hot Rods, and Hot Rides were all together made me so happy while reading, and shows how invested I’ve become in these characters. It was one line, but it really hit the leadership nail on the head that these groups are families and intertwined with each other.
"Quinn, Mike, and Eli gathered at the center. Each of them the unofficial head of their clan."
This is a fantastic addition to the Powertools: The Original Crew Returns series, if you are a fan you aren't going to want to miss it. If you have not read this series before, please do not start here. Go back to the first book. Each book builds on the next; it's beautiful the way Jayne Rylon builds this world book by book and that keeps it in one of my top favourite long running series spots. Joe and Morgan are continuing their new life at Middletown with the Hot Rods and Hot Rides crew. Whilst there are many positives, they are still missing the rest of the Powertools crew; particularly Mike and Kate and their children. Fate intervenes and sees Mike coming down to help Joe out and Kate follows with a small secret of her own.
Drilled is romance perfection. The emotional journey is real, is gritty, is beautiful, is intense. The different kinds of love, in the polyamorous storylines as well as in the family dynamics, well, it is so tangible and wonderful and made my heart swell with feeling. I can’t wait to see where Jayne takes the Powertools family in the next instalment!
Drilled is the 2nd book in the ‘Powertools: The Original Crew Returns series.
Joe, Morgan, and their kids have moved to be closer to Joe’s blood relatives. His family of friends have been left behind but are certainly not forgotten. Joe is struggling with his new position as foreman of his own construction crew, and needs Mike’s help.
The remaining Powertools crew are feeling Joe and Morgan’s absence, but Kate and Mike are the ones highlighted in this book. We read about their feelings and struggles as they deal with the separation, as well as something new happening in their life as a couple.
The scenes between Mike and Kate and the ones between the couple and the Powertools crew are sexy and emotional.
It was great spending time with the Powertools crew and the Hot Rods and Hot Rides crews. The fate of the Powertools is even more precarious in this book, and there is a cliffhanger to set up for the next book in the series.
Jayne Rylon did a great job with this quick, sexy read. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series!
I am so happy to be back with the original Powertools Crew and getting a chance to see how they are all doing. This book focus’ more on Mike & Kate and their family. Both are feeling a bit off with their best friends so far away but they are working through it the best they can. When Joe calls and needs Mikes help he heads to see Middletown a little earlier than planned to help Joe out. After Kate gets some shocking news she leaves the kids with Dave & Kayla and takes off after Mike. While they are in Middletown they both start to see what Joe & Morgan are talking about with the sense of family they have with the Hot Rods & Hot Ride crews there and they see the potential there is for more. When the rest of the crew comes to Middletown for a wedding Mike realizes just how torn Joe really was in making his decision because he is now facing the same one. I am absolutely loving being back with the original crew and seeing them interact more closely with the Hot Rods & Hot Rides crews and I cannot wait to see where the next installment in the story takes us.
This is Book 2 in the Powertools:The Original Crew Returns. I’m going to highly recommend you read book 1 first so you understand everything the crew is feeling emotionally. This book involves Mike and Kate. Mike goes to help Joe and Kate follows after she finds out something. They are both going to realize that it’s okay to experience change because that’s when family steps up to bat for the home team. I’m not ashamed to say that this book brought tears to my eyes because of everything that happens in it. Family, whether it’s blood or not, can strengthen you in all the ways necessary. Mike and Kate, Joe and Morgan are exactly where they need to be. This is the best book and series! I absolutely love them. Plus we get to see the rest of the crew as they show their love and support. Awesome book!
The Powertools Crew is a polyamorous continuing love story, told from Mike's point of view. The crew: Mike, Kate, Dave, Joe, Morgan, Kayla, Neil, James, and Devon have been together for years. After Joe and Morgan left for Middleton, Mike and Kate are feeling their loss and Joe and Morgan are second guessing their move.
When the crew is reunited for a wedding celebration everyone is rethinking their future and reconnecting with each other in their group love way.
Hot, steamy eroticism in between real life problems, unexpected events and trying to sort out their future. Will Joe and Morgan return or will the crew join them in Middleton?
I received a free copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving a review. If you like my reviews I hope you will follow my blog. https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/

**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I'll try not to spoil anything!**
Wow, how is it possible that these books and characters get better with age? I already loved this series and these characters, I feel like I'm maturing along with them and experiencing the emotional roller coaster with them also. I didn't start with Mike's book when I first started this series, but he is my favorite character. I enjoyed seeing him on a deeper level in this book.
I really didn't think I could become anymore emotional about this series...I was wrong. If you haven't read the original series and the first in this series, Screwed, I highly recommend you do.
I can't wait for the next book and I have my fingers crossed that we get to stay connected with the Power Tool Crew in the future too.
This is Jayne Rylon at her very best. Once I start one of these books, there's no putting it down. Well, unless I fall asleep while reading, which I have been known to do from time to time. :) :)
If you read the original Powertools, Hot Rods, or Hot Rides then you definitely do not want to miss this new series. Same characters, same circumstances, same HOT AS HELL scenes with some drama thrown in to keep it all interesting. Seriously, I lose myself when I get into one of these books. Amazing to me how Jayne can make these characters come to life with so much love and emotion.
My only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, is that it's too long between releases. Yes, I know it takes time to write books, but I'm impatient and I'm always ready to see what's gonna happen next. I highly recommend you check out this new series from Jayne Rylon. You will be blown away!!!
If you haven't read that series of the first revisit "Screwed", I recommend you start there. Jayne does an great job of keeping the emotions real and tangible. She does weave a story that keep you engaged until the very last page. She has us hooked on Joe's new adventure.
It is Mikes turn to get big news to be dumped on him. From his wife and his friends. He goes to Middletown to help his best friend, Joe. There was an accident on the job site. And it freaked Joe out so much. Now since the man in charge, Mike is questioning his future. All of them are older and wiser. This book focus’ more on Mike & Kate and their family. They are feeling off because their friends, Joe and Morgan live far away. We get to see some of the hot rides/rods gang.
I rate this book 5 stars. The author has written a must read book. I whole heartedly recommend this book
This is the first book I've read by this author. I was surprised as the book went along that this is one in a series about polyamorous groups and I am coming into the situation without any background. That said I did enjoy the story very much and hope to be blessed with ARCs of the coming books. It seems the construction crew that Mike is the foreman for is on the brink of making a big move from their current town to a new, less expensive but with big opportunities, town and Mike will share foreman duties in a partnership with Joe. Goodness knows, this book had plenty of angst and emotion and I felt like I knew all the characters pretty intimately before the end but it must have been much more pleasant for those who had read Screwed.
Changes are coming...are they for good? I loved returning to this world with Ms. Rylon. Joe and Morgan are flourishing but something or should I say someones are missing. Mike isn't sure he hasn't been holding his crew back. In trying to maintain has he stifled instead? I love how Ms. Rylon allows her characters to continue growing even as life changes. I love seeing the connections grow and flourish even as life takes unexpected turns. I love the emotions that are out in the open with this unconventional family. I enjoyed seeing Mike and the crew wrestle with uncertainty even as they find strength in each other. And I cannot wait to see how she resolves the changes that are a coming.
The crew is back and better and older and more confused then ever. I highly recommend you read the first book to get a real feel of this book. Mike, the man in charge is now questioning his future. How can what he wants conflict so much with keeping the crew together. This book is so full of surprises, some some good and another that breaks your heart. Mike needs Kate to ground him, yet Kate is having her own issues. Such awesome characters, you do not need to be related by blood to be a family. But is the love enough to keep the family together when circumstances could break them apart. I love this series and can not wait for the next book.
Our very tight knitted crew is going through some heavy stuff and has to learn to accept changes; it won't be easy at all... As always, foreman Mike is there to keep the gang together, while strugling himself; thank God for his sweet Kate; her too will have to go through some changes...
I love this book a lot !! It has lots a passion, close friendships, emotional situations and steamy hot moments ! The text is a gripping smooth read from start to finish.
I really liked how Ms Rylon lets her characters grow and evolve through their lives; can't wait for the next installment in the series !!!!!!!!
I received a free copy of this book by the autor and am reviewing it honestly.
Change is never easy. In Screwed (book 1) Joe moved his family and this has separated the extended group in more ways than just physical distance. Bonds have stretched, maybe broken. Emotions have run ragged. And then an accident happens which sends him into a tailspin. Will the arrival of Mike and Kate bring the stability back to those who need it? Will the announcement of new life bring forth the needed hope of peace? While this is Mike and Kate's story, and the focus is on their actions, emotions and breakthroughs, the crew's direction plays an integral part of their journey. Book 2 is a well written tale of love, life and friendship beyond the obvious.
The angst is strong with this one. Everyone says you should embrace change, it leads to new opportunities, but what about everything you are leaving behind? As the original crew returns, there are doubts creeping in that only the strongest of bonds can keep the crew's relationships together. I love that Jayne Rylon, though has expanded families into different series, she intertwines all the Powertools, Hot Rods, and Hot Rides characters and their stories seamlessly. It's a big 5 stars from me, and I can't wait to read the next instalment. My thanks to Ms. Rylon for allowing me the opportunity to read and review Drilled.
This is the second book in this series and it follows on from the book 1 and doesn't disappoint. Joe and Morgan are enjoying their new life but miss the rest of the crew. When Mike comes to help Joe when he has a problem the feeling of missing them increases. When Kate turns up with some news for Mike she loves the place and has feelings of staying herself. Can they change the crew even more and move to Middletown with Joe and Morgan or would it totally break them apart. Absolutely loved reading this book and can't wait for the next installment from the Powertools crew. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
The second book in the series with the original Powertools gang. Life is taking this crew a different path they never saw coming. This one shows the changes coming for Mike and Kate. I love visiting Middleton see all my favorite characters. Though seeing the struggle between the original gang breaks my heart a tiny bit. This one has left wanting the next book because our beloved gang is being pulled in different directions. There are some delightful surprises as well that I just loved. This book brings the heat that I expect with this crew. I needed to fan myself a few times. The heat burns up the pages. If you love the original Powertools then you don't want to miss out on this series!
I loved the original Powertools series so I had mixed feelings about revisiting them. I loved the closure the first series gave but I also wanted to see what they were up to as time went by. I am enjoying this second time around with them. You get to see them growing and adapting to life's changes but also keeping with that strong bond they always had. Seeing their struggles and taking new paths is expected but also has been handled so well. I have my own idea about how this whole new ride is going to turn out so fingers crossed.
I'm really enjoying this new series that reunites us with the original crew. Checking back in with the characters, seeing where their relationships are and what changes and challenges they are facing is really quite gripping. This new series adds an intriguing dose of reality to the world that these much loved characters inhabit. Prepare yourself for a lot of turmoil, tension and drama along with of course heat and emotion as the story unfolds. This is my sincere review that I am freely posting.
Thank you Jayne I am now addicted to Power Tools!! Joe and Morgan have moved away from the gang for the Summer because Joe got some great jobs as a foreman, a promotion for him. A huge new place, a big backyard a whole new beginning. But he needs and misses his friends. Mike comes out to help him with his new job and Kate his wife follows afterwards with some news. Mike and Kate really love where they moved and are now having thoughts of moving themselves. But, that would mean not having the full crew together.... And when the crew gets together?? This book is holy hell HOT!!!!!!
Drilled is the newest book by Jayne Rylon and the second in the new series Powertools: The Original Crew Returns. The story continues with Joe working as the contractor on a build for the gang at Hot Rods and Hot Rides. Trouble from the very start causes Joe to doubt his skills. He calls Mike to ask questions and the talk gives him some confidence, but Mike’s offer to come take a look at the site gives him reassurances and gives him a boost. This is a fast paced story that brings all the Powertools together for a wedding at the build site and opens new possibilities for everyone.
I love this crew, the heart and soul of all the crews out there in Rylon World. They were the first and watching them grow has been a real treat. This further growth has been a trying time and unsettling for the whole crew.
Joe's experiencing growing pains and who better to turn to than your foreman?
There was so much emotion in Drilled. The reader is so involved in their lives it is hard not to feel their pain and ecstasy. I love how they all understand that no matter what happens or where they go...they are a crew forever.
I advise you read Screwed Book 1, before continuing on to this addictive and entertaining story.
Jayne Rylon continues to build on a story rife with drama, angst and love. I like that love of friends, family and sexy romance are all depicted throughout the book. The characters are at crossroads dealing with life events and decisions that impact themselves and their loved ones. The series continues to hold my interest, as I look forward to the next book waiting to see what comes next for the Powertools crew.
I read books with HEAs because it's not the reality of the world. So why go back to a series where the characters already got their HEAs? Because I had to know where it went. Happily ever after is a myth. There are so many ups and downs in life. But Jayne Rylon took her most loved characters and showed readers how, even with aging, raising kids & teenagers, health issues, and natural disasters that we all face in these troubles times, there can be happiness. If you've read powertools, don't pass up this sequel series.
