I think I wrote the following review for Clamor.
It is common knowledge in both the queer and straight worlds that butches like femmes. But sometimes butches like other butches. Set in Stone is proof that butches can be attracted to each other, even though this fact was considered shameful and often kept hidden in the past. In these 14 erotic stories by both female and male authors, butch-on-butch desire is explored in great variety. From Thomas Roche’s sweet but hot “The Lady With the Softail” and punk rock groupie fantasy “Tough Broad” to Catherine Lundoff”s rollicking pirate adventure “On the Spanish Main”, from the wildly funny yet still sexy “The Gang Bang” by M. Christian (who seems to have a tightly written lusty story or two in every book of erotica that I’ve picked up in the last three months) to Gina Ranalli’s tale of revenge “Crashing Planes”, this anthology shows what can happen when a butch sets her sights on a woman of her own kind. Whether the reason is love, lust, or payback, each of these tales features thrilling sex. As with any anthology, you’re sure to like some pieces more than others, but there are no clunkers here. The typically fabulous Pat Califia has a strong piece called “Who Casts the First Stone?” featuring characters who also appear in the collection No Mercy; this new story is written under the moniker Patrick Califia-Rice. The author’s identity may have undergone some changes, but the writing is still excellent, featuring fleshed out characters and a compelling plot. Jennifer M. Collins’ “Bedrock,” Lisa E. Davis’ “Bubbles and Buddy,” and JenLynn Sweet’s “The Rock” all attest to the fact that older women can indeed make beautiful lovers, and Roselind Christine Lloyd’s “Spears and Arrows” testifies that sisterhood truly is powerful. When I noticed that stories by male writers had been included in this collection, I admit I was skeptical. However, these stories were some of my favorites, proving that when it comes to sex and desire, it is what’s in a person’s head that matters most. No matter how you identify, if you are attracted to butches, you’re sure to find yourself hot and bothered by the writing in this collection.

3.5 Actually
Is a very sexy and well-written anthology, as long as I know the only one focused in butch-on-butch lesbian erotica, there's a lot of hard-core sex histories, a lot of rought bulldaggers and also a lot of dildos. In most of the histories one of the butch is "flipped," is interesting that this event is not portrayed as a tragedy. There's also a very common use of dildos and a certain lack of S/M (which I thought would abound)
My favorite was the Lesléa Newman's story, for its portrait of a hard stone butch.

August 3, 2025一直很好奇这个文类，也是第一次真正接触这个文类（这类写作确实不多啊），有几篇文笔超出预期，叙事节奏也抓得到位，但是内容呃，物化女性的部分看得很出戏（🙂），而且要写erotica的话，有些性爱场面也太过迷恋权力关系，然后就将爱和暴力混在一起了…确实很hardcore吧
这算是类网文吗？基本没读过网文，但读下来感觉短篇科幻小说、短篇女同小说都挺网文风格的，都属于通俗文学吧。
