This marks a rare moment of clarity and uplift in Kat’s long, war‑shadowed journey. After so many installments defined by loss, pressure, and escalating danger, this novella lets a glimmer of possibility break through the darkness. Kat’s mission to unlock an ancient power and awaken a monstrous titan pushes her into mythic territory, and Cronshaw uses that scale to explore themes of destiny, healing, and the fragile spark of hope that refuses to die. The tone is more expansive than the previous entries, with Cronshaw leaning into wonder, mystery, and the awe of magic rediscovered. Yet the stakes remain razor‑sharp: Kat’s choices here are not just about survival but about shaping the future of a world at war. The novella balances introspection with momentum, offering both emotional breathing room and a sense of rising purpose.

The Star is #17 in the Ravenglass Chronicles by Jon Crenshaw. This is a spellbinding, episodic fantasy series that blends tarot-inspired storytelling with a rich coming-of-age journey. Jon Cronshaw crafts a world that feels both intimate and expansive, where magic is woven into the very fabric of the land and every chapter feels like turning over a new card in a mysterious deck.
For readers who are looking for immersive world-building, character-driven fantasy, with a tarot-infused storyline that’s brimming with imagination.

This episode follows Kat after leaving Gottsisle on her quest to collect enough Ravenglass to make eyes for the titan of Nable Haffen. This adventure/endeavor reveals a few previously unanswered questions but introduces information that creates new questions hopefully to be revealed soon. I received an Advance Reader Copy and chose to provide this review.

This episode wasn’t as action packed and serves as an in between? The character has a goal in mind and Kreig , a non mind controlling wyvern, helps to the best of his ability. I enjoyed the matter of fact nature of Kreig. This storyline still has many unanswered questions so the next few episodes should be revealing. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.

Grrr. I hate when a book ends with the words "To be continued..." LOL

Gripping, exciting, pulse racing action. It's getting more and more exciting. On to the next one. (Again, come on book 21... you're the last one, and I'm almost to you.)
