One surge of magical power could free her — or short-circuit her future.

Jake Wilcox thought he’d covered their tracks when he hid his love, weather witch Adara Grant, in a remote Wyoming town under the watchful guard of the Northern Arapahoe. He should have listened to his instincts that he was making a horrible mistake.

Now Addie’s gone, taken in the dead of night by the very nemesis they thought they’d eluded. Locked away so deep in a government testing facility, it’ll take more than magical luck to find her, much less get her out alive.

Addie is living her worst nightmare, and feeling every one of the three thousand miles between her and Jake. The temptation to use her wild gift to free herself is strong — but it’s not just her own life at stake. The facility is full of orphaned witches.

And one faint signal that could be glimmer of hope — or a sign that luck has run out for Addie, Jake, and everyone they love.

A native of Southern California, Christine Pope has been writing stories ever since she commandeered her family’s Smith-Corona typewriter back in the sixth grade. Many reams of dead trees later, she’s happy to announce that her debut novel, Fringe Benefits, was published by Pink Petal Books on April 8, 2010. Her short fiction has appeared in Astonishing Adventures, Luna Station Quarterly, and the new journal of dark fiction, Dark Valentine. Her paranormal novella, Playing With Fire, was released on August 5, 2010.

While Fringe Benefits is a straight contemporary romance, she writes in a variety of genres, including paranormal romance, fantasy, horror, science fiction, and historical romance. She blames this on being easily distracted by bright, shiny objects, which could also account for the size of her shoe collection.

After spending many years in the magazine publishing industry, she now works as a freelance editor in addition to writing fiction. She lives with her husband and an explosively fluffy Pomeranian mix. Her house is pink, but don’t hold that against her.

Once again I find myself totally hooked as I start reading book three in this series! It’s suspenseful, emotional & has tons of twists and turns and a little romance. Great storyline, great characters, a few surprises thrown in, this is a great series that I would definitely recommend!

OMG, it cannot get any better. Christine Pope’s Winds of Change, The Witches of Wheeler Park Book 3 is the continuation of this wonderful series. Adara Grant thought she could hide in a remote town under the protection of the local Native American Tribe but the plan was not successful. She was abducted in the middle of night by the man chasing her, and brought to an underground government testing facility. Jake Wilcox had to do something to get her back under tremendous odds of success. What ensued was a plot to get Addie back along with the other orphaned witches being held there as well. It seemed an impossible feat for Jake and the Wilcox Primus to perceive a plan that would ensure they did it right. The heart stopping journey of such a rescue will take you where your imagination could not fathom. This is a must read along with the other two books in the series. Christine Pope is a phenomenal author and this is just another fantastic book and series to her credit.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Winds of Change by Christine Pope is the third book in The Witches of Wheeler Park spin-off series. You do not need to have read the previous series, The Witches of Cleopatra Hill and The Witches of Canyon Road, to enjoy this new series of reads. The action and drama continue to ratchet up in Winds of Change. We get some resolution to Jake and Addie's dilemma in this book in a most surprising way. We also get a better understanding of the power and strength of the younger generation of the Wilcox clan. I love that there is such a strong set of secondary characters and while the focus is on Jake and Addie, you're getting to interact with the rest of the family. Once again Christine Pope is able to construct an addictively immersive tale that pulls the reader right into the thick of things. A fun read that must be read in (this) series order.

If you have followed all the previous witchy tales by Christine Pope, you will absolutely love this newest adventure. It’s kind of a family reunion! Angela and Conner are on board to help out Conner’s newly discovered half-sister, Addie, escape, not once, but twice from a secret Homeland Security installation in the DC area. Remember Bad Blood? New to America, other witchy immigrants that were in New York, prior to the Wilcox Clan moving west.. Ahh yes, certainly there is a tie in! You know how magically Pope weaves a tale.

Put together in an awesome suspenseful, with a little bet of romance thrown in, story line, Pope again has us reading late into the night. If you remember, Jeremy and Jake created Trident to locate “orphaned witches,” and make them aware of their unique ancestry , as well as, help them understand and use their gifts. Angela and Conner have their work cut out for them when more than a couple are being held as “guests” by homeland security. At the same time Addie has the near impossible challenge to convince the director of the project that he is himself a warlock. A perfect read for Sheltering at Home or just getting away from it all, Book 3 Witches of Wheeler Park

Adara (Addie) is on the run and hiding out with her new friends in a local tribe. Working at the casino keeps her sane but using her magic to help out when a storm could wipe out the area has lit a great, big, glowing beacon. The MIB (or at least one very determined Government Agent) will be on her tail ASAP.

After being abducted from her sanctuary Addies finds herself in an underground testing zone. With several other types of enhanced humans/magic users.

Jake is going to find Addie if it kills him. He's not above calling in the big guns.

There are lots of twists - and an unexpected ally in the end! That I did not see coming I must admit. You really must read this series in order to keep all the threads of the story in the right order. Great book, wonderful characters and very intricately plotted!

This is the continuation and conclusion to Jake Wilcox and Addie Grant’s story. I understand there will be additional stories in the series and look forward to them. I found Jake and Addie’s love story had the right amount of passion, romance and self-recrimination. I enjoyed Addie’s growth in her witch powers and ultimately taking control when she finds herself back in the clutches of Randall Lenz. Christine Pope does a great job of creating a really unlikeable villain in Randall Lenz. Not that he was totally evil like some other villains just really unlikeable. I sure hope he isn’t redeemed in a follow up story. I also really enjoyed the glimpse into Conner and Angela’s lives and their contribution to this story. I received an ARC of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Woah, so book three picks up where Thunder Road ended. Now Jake is against the clock as he searches for Addie, he's not alone. The journey to find Addie is one that leaves you feeling all of kinds of emotions. I was a wreck for a bit, but it's another great read with Addie and Jake getting the romance that I've been craving since book one. While, this is the end of their journey, I do hope that we'll get glimpses of them in later books. Oh who am I kidding, Christine always gives little tidbits at some point. Lots of twists and turns but a great read. I'm excited to read the fourth book. I did receive an ARC, but this does not affect my thoughts or opinions.

Book 3 starts as Jake is about to leave Flagstaff to return to Addie in Riverton, Wyoming when he gets news that she was taken (the cliffhanger from Book 2). Not surprisingly, Randall Lenz had abducted her from under the care of the Northern Arapaho tribe. Connor, Lucas, and Angela rescue Addie. Back in Flagstaff, after a lifetime of never feeling as if she fit in anywhere, she was surrounded by people who only wanted her to be herself. Randall Lenz does not want to let her have her dream of settling down with Jake in Flagstaff, but Addie, Jake, Jeremy, Connor, and Angela have other plans. An interesting twist towards the end allows a happy conclusion to Jake and Addie's romance.

Awesome Story!! Wow!! I just couldn’t put this story down. The suspense kept me turning the pages—wanting to find out what would happen next. There are quite a few surprises in store for the reader that may be a shock to some but perhaps not so much if you’ve been paying attention to the signs. This is not a standalone story, so it’s imperative to read the first two books of the series in order to understand what is happening. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this fantastic series. I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

OMG!! that got a little bit intense 4 a short x. I'm really glad that she managed 2 get things done the good way instead of bad 2 help benefit everyone involved. Connor is Noble after everything that's happened 2 just let it roll off his back and try and help any way they could. But at the end they should have at least let the Indians at the reservation know that everything that happened and ok now. I wish that Angela would have been able 2 c her mom's ghost and talk 2 her a short x 2 give her sum closer.

Ms Pope has the knack of putting together an interesting plot, even though it's fictional, that captivates your attention. You need to start with book one and follow it through to understand how all this happened. I believe you will be hooked on this series, just like I am. Book four has been pre-booked to my Kindle.

Loved this story

I loved this series. I do wish that it had been made into one book of instead of 3 shorter ones, the characters were fun and the plot had some intensity. A very good read.

Love the unusual love match

Like the idea of being a victim who overcomes evil and triumphs in the end. True friendships are made not given. It takes work. A good and comfortable read.
