The only time I hope to ever see this french textbook again is if I have to read it because the Supreme Court requires all their justices to be bilingual...
This was a well-organized French-as-a-second-language text with many opportunities and exercises for partner and group conversation on the learned themes and topics. Many great ideas for lesson plans, presentations, and experiential learning within with minimal English used. This is good for intermediate learners at the university level and for non-native speakers.
Unfortunately, this books uses some website resources and video resources that no longer exist.
Finally, the book loses a full star for its cost. This book cost in the neighbourhood of $120.00 nearly 20 years ago. Shame on textbook publishers for opportunistic pricing and gouching broke students who are also a captive market because the books end up being required reading in the courses. These publishers should be ashamed, but they have no shame.
