I've enjoyed reading this story of the adventures of a woman who was alone, she signed up to be a Mail Order Bride. The story is a bit different, a welcome.
I love that this was a different MOB story than the others I have read.
Susan, as many of the characters have been, has no one left of her family and decides that her only real option is to become a MOB. When she arrives in town the man she is to marry has been killed and his best friend (a rather shady looking character) offers to marry her and take her to Oregon in the wagon that her intended had already set up for them. She agrees, but in the middle of the ceremony her intended's brother shows up and throws a monkey wrench into everything. She agrees to go West with both men, choosing one of them at the end of the road.
All of them have something that they wish that they could change about themselves and as they go on this journey it becomes a journey to discovering just who God really wants them to be.
I loved reading this book. I find the pioneers traveling across the country to begin a new life fascinating. I loved the characters in this book and the faith they had in God making them a better person. I loved the plot of this book and Susan having to decide who she was going to marry. This is a well written,, heartwarming story, that I recommend and I'm sure you will like.
Oh, my, what a dilemma for Susan. The man she had been writing and travelled to marry has been killed. The wagon master will only allow married ladies on the trip. Suddenly she goes from no groom to two grooms. I think she does the wise thing and agrees to marry one of them at the end of trip. There are some heart rending moments, moments of humor, moments of sadness, but the author creates a wonderful and touching story.
I loved how developed each character was. In other stories where there's a choice to be made like this, I've never learned so much about each character or seen such growth in them! But, my favorite part is each character fell more in love with God during their journey! This is such a wonderful book! The only thing missing was a follow-up up on Nick and Anna! Lol! Maybe they already have their own stories? This book is several years old already!
I like this series very much. The bride and her prospective grooms make many changes on this trip to Oregon. You will read this story and find all the good in the people. Enjoy ?,I did!!!!!
I really enjoyed this story of the Prairie Rose Collection. Susan had a very big decision to make with two very different men to choose from John or Ed. The Lord leads her to choose the one that’s right for her.
A delightful Christian novella with loveable characters, all of whom you want to end up being happy! A unique plot and a satisfying ending, that the author, herself, says she did not see coming! A lovely escape into another world. Highly recommend for fun and inspiration.
Mail order bride Susan arrives in town to find out that her intended has been killed. She doesn't know what to do. When she meets the wagon train master, she finds out she'll need to be married if she wants to go to Oregon with them. She's in the middle of marrying another stranger (although he is a friend of the dead man), when her intended's long lost brother shows up and claims the wagon for himself. Amazingly, the wagon master allows all 3 to join the wagon train because she promises to choose which man to marry by the time they get to Oregon, even though she can't make up her mind yet. That seems super unlikely. From there, the book drags on and on and on going back and forth between the friend and the brother. And she still can't decide. Honestly, this sounded like a fun plot but it was mind-numbingly boring. It's supposed to be a fairly quick read and it took me daaaays because I wasn't really interested in it. None of the characters really grabbed my attention.
Wonderful characters, I love how both Ed and John were respectful to each other. A great plot with the wagon trains and Susan needing to marry. The characters grew and changed throughout the story which was good to see. Ed brings so much to the story by helping others. So much to love about this book!
