The offer was simple - one baby, one million dollars. For an eccentric gentleman renowned and disgraced, a bargain in his will may be the last opportunity. Whether for prestige, money, or want of children, the twelve women who accepted had no idea where their desperation would lead. Because these children are more science than nature. What can a parent do when their baby has superpowers?
Each chapter of 'Sons and Daughters of Olek Part 1: Labor' reads as a series of mini stories within a story, weaving the assorted tales of how the children of Olek came to be. The character development Ana Kay managed within every chapter succeeded at getting me invested in each of the childrens' lives. It left me wanting more (in a good way!) and I look forward to reading where these characters go and how they'll all interact in Parts 2 and 3.
Part I of Sons and Daughters of Olek tells a captivating story, and unfolds in a creative way. Each character is introduced through their own chapter, which in turn reveals more about Olek. He's an enigmatic character who becomes even more mysterious the more you learn about him. Part II cannot come soon enough!
A unique take on motherhood, children and pregnancy, Labor showcases a diverse cast of characters who are all bound to one another by blood. Each narrative explores their beginnings in an original and creative way that only Anna Kay can express.
