Rapid Eye Movement is a complex read teeming with intrigue, suspense, mystery, heartache, and a surprising twist. Not a pleasant ending, but an ending none-the-less.
I loved the concept of Amanda Sheridan’s novel. Dreams fascinate me, but image dreaming about another person’s life every night, and those dreams being as vivid as reality. The two main characters Lucy and Jennifer, complete strangers, living polar opposite lives viewed the other’s daily lives in their dreams. They sensed the other’s happiness, heartaches, and physical pain. The storyline makes you question the complexity of our subconscious minds, particularly when the women’s “dream-bond” seems to grow closer as each woman struggles to survive after their accidents, leading to traumatic brain injuries and their subsequent induced comas.
Following the timeline and which character was dreaming at the beginning of the book and for quite a few chapters slowed my reading and at times became aggravating.
The intrigue, along with the surprising twist, will captivate most of you and keep you turning the pages!
