Bad Boys In Love #3

Mister Baby Daddy

Rate this book
All my life, I've been in love with my best friend. All my life I've waited for him to notice.
I'm done waiting. I'm moving on with my life...I'm having a baby.

I really need to get over Walker Kingston.
My lifelong infatuation with my best friend is sort of embarrassing. The tall, broody hunk of farmer has always been my fierce protector, my constant hero, my knight in flanneled armor.
But to him, I've never been more than a friend, the girl he saves from trouble in the middle of the night.
This whole damsel-in-distress thing is getting kind of old. I'm tired of being a burden on Walker. I'm ready to stand on my own feet.
I may never win his love but I'm ready to focus on the other things I want in my life.
And what I want most? A baby.
I've practically got one foot inside the sperm bank when the overprotective farmer intercepts my plan. Now he says he will father my child.
Nope.
Nuh-uh.
Absolutely not.
I'm trying to get over the guy. So letting him be my baby daddy is low-key dysfunctional.
But Walker insists it won't affect our friendship. Plus, he has all these amazing qualities that make his offer super hard to resist. He's strong and charming and fine as hell. And he's the only person I really trust.
Okay. Fine. Grab the specimen cup. Off to the fertility clinic we go.
Except nothing ever goes to plan.
Now I need rescuing--again. And Walker has made it his mission to take care of my every need--again.
And when the ever-grumpy cowboy introduces me to his soft, nurturing side, I'm a goner.
Well, damn. How the hell am I supposed to get over the man now?

Mister Baby Daddy is a steamy, laugh-out-loud, arranged pregnancy, small town romance featuring a growly farmer with a huge savior complex and a strong distaste for turtlenecks. It is set in small town Illinois and is book 3 in the Bad Boys in Love series.
A full-length standalone. No cliffhanger. HEA guaranteed.

Hence forth this shall be know as "The book which pulled me out of a reading slump."

I seem to have spent the few weeks struggling to stick with a book, and even when I have it hasn't touched my heart and soul in the way that a great book did. Mister Baby Daddy took that poor reading streak, stomped all over it and tore it into tiny pieces with it's great writing, amazing characters and emotional depth. Even though there is nothing particularly ground breaking or new within the plot, the quality of writing, the sheer amount of feels this book gave me, along with how much I found myself caring for both Walker and Penny, made it a wonderful read.

Whilst I wouldn't class this as a rom-com, the author does thread humour throughout the story. She balances some very sad and difficult situations with moments of levity and fun. And did I mention just how great Penny and Walker are? It would be easy to become frustrated with the pair, but I couldn't because the author created two very "real" people who I simply fell in love with.

It was great to catch glimpses of previous couples, and we got to know just a little bit more about Jessa, our next heroine. Based on this series so far I am really, really, REALLY looking forward to reading her and Eli's story.

This story managed to do something no story has done to me in a very long time... piss me off. What a ridiculous set of people here!! I have never read such lunacy from a bunch of cowards like this one. They were on the verge of ruining EVERYTHING by not being honest and for how long???? Just to justify not ruining a friendship?! People, you’re ruining your lives and the lives of everyone around you for the sake of being nice to each other. Penn is a single minded moron for not looking at the reality of her decisions and their effect on others while Walker was an idiot for letting it al get out of control. I would burn this book if I could... will have to settle on deleting it but a small fire would make me feel better.

Just tell Him/Her already!

Book three in the Bad Boys in Love series by Cassie-Ann L Miller was a test in patience. For Walker. For Penny. And especially for me!

When a couple has been in love without saying it you each other for 25+ years, it’s time. So many secrets, such disappointing parents.

But I just wanted them to have their happily ever. I’m so glad they finally did!

Now onto Eli and Jessa. I can’t wait for this one! Best for last?

And Cassie-Ann’s still got it!

“Trying to deny it is pointless. Walker Kingston is my emotional camel toe.” I mean… come on with the brilliance!

I am about 50% through this book and if I didn’t intend to complete the series, I wouldn’t finish it. I am having such a hard time getting through this one. The entire book is their inner monologues of how they think the other doesn’t want the same things they do because they can’t seem to just grow up and have a conversation. These characters are in their 30s, get it together already! It’s all very annoying.

UPDATE: I couldn’t take it anymore so I skimmed the rest of the rest of the book rather than full-on reading it and can confirm it does not get better. After they confess their feelings (at over 70% of the way through, mind you), then it’s all more doubting feelings and drama for virtually no reason other than these characters being annoying AF. Decided I’m not reading the last book in the series. The first two weren’t good enough for me to keep the faith.

Pains me to say what I'm about to say. I have been anxiously awaiting this book. Seriously waiting ... and i didn't like it. 😭

For me, the whole thing was repetitive because all the inner monologues about how much they love the other but can't have them or won't show their feelings. Which i get, key element, but over and over and over. Just monotonous. I skimmed through the last 40% of the book. There were sweet moments worth reading but for the bulk of the book I was like come on already. They say they are BFFs, so have a real conversation about feelings.

Good to catch up with the other characters but this was just a miss for me.

Liked: emotional read; unrequited love
But a LOT that bug me about FM romance was in this one. I don’t read many of them these days for just that reason.
First nothing annoys me more than perfectly beautiful girls who are so physically beautiful that everyone loves them but can’t believe that they are desired and have so much trouble meeting people and having relationships. Agh. Seriously, just make her plain and regular so the rest are believable.

Interior design careers don’t take off the way it’s written here. Why are these farmers so rich??

Authors use of language read strange to me. So I’m not planning on reading more until a real good set up.

Maybe more of a 3.5. The main issue I had with this book was the constant internal dialogue of “I love him/her but I can’t ruin our friendship.” And I mean constant. The h second guesses anytime H says he wants to be together. Neither want to communicate.
This wasn’t one of those books where I didn’t want to walk away. But I did want to finish it.

I liked the parts I actually read, but I'll admit I skipped quite a bit of middle. Penny and Walker annoyed the heck out of me in the first 2 books as well with the bs of being in love and not knowing how the other felt, or even trying to see how the other felt. For 20 years? Really? Couldn't buy that.

Okay read

Not my favourite by this author as found penny quite manic at times and also Walker was a bit slow. That said it was an okay read but if it had been first book I read by this author I’d not pursue anymore.

OMG... this book was so annoying. 70% through before they finally pull their head out of their asses. And then she still puts up a fight. Kept with because I like the family and wanted to get to the last book

Mister Baby Daddy is the third book in the Bad Boys in Love series. Penny and Walker have been best friends their whole life. Both love the other and can’t imagine their life without their other half. Both are terrified of taking that next step to start a relationship. But when Penny wants to have a baby in attempts of moving on, Walker immediately steps in. Will having a baby together be the catalyst to start something so much more, or will this tiny being change absolutely everything?

Holy smokes, alllllll of the feels! Half the time I was giggling, the other half I felt like my heart was breaking and the whole time I was just falling in love with these two characters that loved each other so much but were too afraid to do anything about it! Ugh, I wanted to strangle both of them for all of their longings and hurting each other unintentionally when they could have had so much for so long, but then I also wanted to smash their faces together so they could passionately make up and love one another forever! It was a tough internal battle, but I loved it! I loved Penny and Walker. I loved their ups and downs, struggles and triumphs, and their love! Penny tries so hard to be independent and strong, but she hides so much hurt. I love her vulnerable moments, but even more, I love when she started seeing her own worth and the love surrounding her. Walker is a bit grumpy, a bit over protective, and a very much not one to be social, but I absolutely loved how Penny softened some of his rough edges. I thought they were so perfect for each other, complimenting one another and always trying to build each other up. As much as I loved their drama surrounding their relationship, I also loved all of the background events, too! If you follow this series from the beginning, you’ll see how the previous couples are doing, too! So good! I loved this book and already am so excited for the next book in the series!

An absolutely adorable best-friends to lovers romance.

Penny has been in love with her best friend for as long as she can remember. She has tried just about everything to get him to notice her as more than a friend, but none of them seem to be working. Between being stuck on Walker, feeling like her time for a family is fleeting and being discontent in her job…..Penny feels her life is falling apart. However, that is until Penny gets an idea to become pregnant. Penny’s mother doesn’t seem to care and she desperately wants to move on from Walker, so what better way to handle this than to have a baby? Only one person stands in her way, Walker.

Walker is your average cowboy. He works hard and cares deeply for those he loves, especially Penny. In everything Walker does, he is constantly thinking about Penny. Walker has been in love with her since he was a child, but has been too scared to say anything. He doesn’t want to lose their friendship or risk her finding out his secret. However, when he learns that Penny is going to a clinic to become pregnant, he has a better idea. He’ll be the sperm donor.

I thought this was a cute read. I loved the chemistry between the main characters and I loved that they had a deep desire for each other throughout the story. I rated this four stars because I wish there was a little more slow-burn and communication. Part of the conversation between the characters felt repetitive and childish. However, it was overall a great read. I’m interested in reading the other books in this series now.

Another great read from Cassie Miller,, these brothers have had a very positive roll of the woman in there town. Those who have read this series knows how much Penny was in love with with their oldest brother Walker!?? From reading those stories you find out that Penny always seems to hang out with Walker and considers Penny his best friend.
Well Penny is tired of putting her life on hold and has plans of her own on how to move on and not wait around for Cupid to shoot his arrow in the right direction because of her biological clock and what she wants for herself out of life.

Walker on the other hand is a broody guy with heavy baggage that has been a secret all his life. Only his parents are in the loop with what he has carried around since chidhood.

It seems as though Walker has been hiding how he feels about his childhood best friend forever also. Will he ever be able to tell her? Not sure he seems to not let much be known by others and I guess he feels not worthy of loving anyone.

But he seems to step up when Penny puts her plan in action!!!
Now we.sort of know how he feels for her but that might never turn out!! I think you will enjoy the process that takes place in this story and see if the HEA includes them!!! But they are both stubborn and afraid to loose what they have with each other!!!!
Happy Reading everyone.

Penny has been friends with Walker since they were kids. He protected her and helped her as her best friend. Penny has been raised by her aunt when her mother as a child her left her with her aunt to be raised and cared for while she was pursuing a law degree. Penny has missed being loved by her mother and is looking to have her own little family to love. So, one day she decides to become a single mother and have a baby by artificial insemination. Well, upon hearing this Walker volunteers to help . This is where their journey to revealing their true feelings begins. Both have secrets and a lot of self doubts, but losing their life long friendship is putting everything at risk. They both complete each other and yet neither sees what everybody, family and friends see...they are meant to be together. She is it for the surly farmer and he is it for Penny. This is a story of longuing, self doubts and a deep friendship between two great characters . The story is sweet, sexy and so entertaining. I volunteered to review the arc.

This is the third book in the Bad Boys in love series revolving around the Kingston brothers. Walker is the oldest brother, he has been in love with his best friend Penny for as long as he can remember but feels she deserves better then him and his dirty secret. Penny has been in love with Walker for as long as she can remember but her biological clock is ticking and since he just sees her as a friend she has decided to have a baby on her own. Walker cannot stand the idea of Penny using a specimen from some other guy, a guy she doesn’t even know so he volunteers to be her donor, he is even willing to sign away his paternal rights. But you know what they say about best laid plans. As the day comes closer for the procedure Walker gets cold feet, not about making a baby but about how they are making it, he wants them to make it the old fashioned way. But now that he knows what it is really like to be with Penny how can he possibly let her and the baby go. I have really enjoyed this series so far and the cameos of some of characters from prior books, I cannot wait for Eli’s book.

TRUTH AND OPEN HONESTY COULD SOLVE PROBLEMS IMMEDIATELY

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review

Walker has been in love with Penny since the day he met her in preschool. Penny has been in love with Walker for just as long. Walker has a family secret that keeps him from confessing his love to Penny. He feels that he is not good enough for her. Penny doesn’t think that Walker loves her because he is so good at hiding his feelings. They seem to be the only ones who don’t notice that they love each other.

Penny gives up on Walker and decides to be a single mom. Walker volunteers to be the baby daddy. Things get crazy and they fight a lot. The truths and problems start surfacing and Penny’s fear of rejection is revealed and their character interactions take a change.

Advice comes from the strangest of people. Cassie-Ann frustrates the reader with the stubbornness of her characters and lead them through the story as if they are the characters. Well written.

Walker and Penny - a swoony best friends romance

I loved the premise of this book and the execution was almost perfect. Best friend decides to have a baby since she cannot get over being in love with her best friend and best friend volunteers to be the sperm donor because he’s in love with her but can’t tell her and will do anything to make her happy. Overall the storyline and the characters were really good. However, the book dragged and was bogged in the middle with all the angst and repetition of the I love her/him but I can’t tell her/him because I don’t want to ruin our friendship. The story would have been a five star read if about 50 pages were cut out of the middle. Despite the boggy middle, this book has a little bit of everything - sweet moments, fan your face steamy, laugh out loud scenes, tearful moments, strong family relationships and heart squeezing love - expect to laugh, to swoon, and to cry. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Walker and Penny

They’ve been best friends forever. They both don’t want to loose their friendship… but they both are also attracted to each other. She realizes her biological clock is ticking and no guy is coming around that she likes as much as him. She decides she needs to go to a fertility clinic- but when she tells him - he’s like nope… I’ll volunteer - at first it’s clinical but then he’s nope again and says have to do it the natural way. This is dopey to me… best friend … willing to have a child… but not a relationship.. ehh. But he’s scared… his father isn’t who everyone thinks - he’s a deadbeat user. Finally he tells his adopted dad that he wants to be her man. He’s moved her in already with the pretense of finding mold in her apartment. He sets out to win her just as she has set out to do the same.

Hea they declare their love and she’s moving in, he’s building a room for the babies And right after the babies are born he’s proposing - 2 boys

OMFG! I loved Cannon and I loved Jude but Walker, holy mother of grumpy cowboys. Walker is da man.

Walker and Penny have been BFF's for as long as they can remember and have been in love with each other just as long. But, neither knows the other's true feelings as they didn't want to cross any lines and totally screw up their friendship. So, when Penny decides that she needs to get Walker out of her head and heart and find someone to love her and have her own little family, she decides having a baby will get her everything she is missing. Now, she just needs a donor.

This was such a good book. I absolutely love Mrs. Miller's writing. And I also love how she pulls characters from other series into the mix which makes me long to re-read those other books.

Now, Eli!! I know this dude is innocent and I hope his Ex gets her just dessert.

Penny and Walker have always been besties but we know from the previous two books that things were not as they seem for at least Penny in regards to her feelings for her bestie. Penny decides it is time to take control of her life and this turns into the pivotal point in their relationship and boy what a ride that is. Lordy there were soo many times I wanted to shake sense into them both, as well as say listen to your Dad Walker along with really want to know what the secret is that subtlety pops up every now and then. You will also want to hug them and tell them it will be aright and that they need to talk to each and tell each other how they feel and that their friends and family are there for them as well as Walkers parents .. not Penny's though her Mum is a total douche canoe!!

Walker and Penny's story is my new favorite. I love the Kingston men, and Cassie-Ann Miller does NOT disappoint in this story. The angst is tangible, and the passion is HOT. Walker and Penny have been best friends since elementary school, and have always loved each other- they just never realized it. But now, will they be able to come to terms with their feelings towards each other? Cassie-Ann takes us into their hearts as they try to determine their happily-ever-after, especially once Penny becomes pregnant. The characters (primary and secondary) in the Bad Boys in Love series are just breathtakingly beautiful. They're real to a fault- insecurities and all. This latest installation has made me impatient now for the next piece! Highly recommend!

This is book number 3 in the Bad Boys in Love series, but it can be read as a standalone. I loved reading this book, it is a steamy and funny small town romance. Walker is a farmer with a savior complex and who doesn't love that. Penny has been in love with Walker forever and she is tired of waiting for him to notice her as more than a friend. She is ready for a baby, but before she can go through with a sperm donor from a bank, Walker steps up and offers to be the baby daddy. What will this do to their relationship? Penny knows this will not help get over him but he has great qualities that would make him the perfect sperm donor. What happens between these two makes for one great story! I couldn't put it down. 5 star read!

Sweet friends to lovers story with babies!

Penny and Walker's story is filled with the kind of angst you usually get when two friends are terrified of losing that friendship in order to take a chance on love. Add in Penny's desire to be a mom and things get pretty complicated. I read all of the books in this series and I can't pick a favorite. Each story is unique and I've really enjoyed each of them. I think Penny is my favorite of the female leads. She's feisty and fun and I love how she goes for what she wants. Even though, she and Walker hesitate on going for their relationship, it's clear throughout the book that they deeply love one another. I'm so glad I took a chance on this series and I'm excited to read the last book about Eli.

I loved Penny and Walker's story. I admit to being a big fan of the friends-to-lovers trope and I felt that this book delivered everything that makes that trope so appealing into one very swoon worthy, heart melting package. You can expect plenty of feels and emotions as these two struggle with the anxiety and inner turmoil of putting their friendship on the line for the chance at love. Their path is far from smooth sailing and my heart ached for them. Drama, tension, humor, sweetness, steam and poignancy are combined into a delicious blend that helps pull you into this small town romance and has you very eager to stay awhile. This is my frank, freely posted review.

What an absolutely wonderful book!
The ease of friendship between Walker and Penny is beautiful and I honestly really loved them both!
I could empathize with them and their internal struggles and desperately hoped there could be potential for more!
I loved the heartfelt moments, the drama, the friendships and family in the story that made it an enjoyable read!
Walker and Penny have been best friends for a long time. When Walker finds out she wants to have a baby, he’s willing to help her. What they don’t seem to realise is how close they become but do their insecurities cause heartbreak? Or will their friendship stand the test of time. Really heartwarming and entertaining!,

It's Penny and Walker 's story, I've been waiting for this book from the first book of this series, this is the couple that really intriguing, and I was right, there's family affair and secrets and also plenty of love and laughter. Yup it's complicated yet so easy to read, lots of frustrations but balanced with sweet moments.
Loveeee Penny and Walker, they're so frustrating sometimes, yes i wanted to slap them, but i can't not root for their happy ending, they're just so perfect for each other.
Cute story, cute couple, so yes.... of course I love it.

Totally recommended this book for everyone who is looking for sweet steamy easy-to read small town romance read.

I enjoyed this book. Loved how close Penny and Walker are, they’ve been best friends since they were young. But she wants a baby. There’s a lot that happens. Didn’t like her Mom. Turns out Walker’s family isn’t perfect, but there’s a lot of love. Can they become a couple? Walker agrees to give her a baby, but can he step up and let her know he wants more? It’s an emotional journey. Thankfully they finally get a happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I recommend this book.

All Penelope Merlini's life, she's been in love with her best friend Walker Kingston. All her life, Penny has waited for the broody but handsome Walker to notice. Now Penny's done waiting and moving on with her life, having a baby. When Walker finds out, he insists on being the sperm donor, and doing it the old fashioned way. But what happens when Penny becomes addicted to Walker's kisses, sleepy smiles, and being in her bed every night?

Mister Baby Daddy is a funny, sweet, angsty and steamy story that will give you all the feels
