The moment she had her head rest on my shoulder, I should have moved away. Instead, I enjoyed it. And just 2 days later, I gave in and kissed her. I wanted to claim her in ways unimaginable. And I was a fool to think I could get lost in her delicious curves for a night and then, just be friends with her.
My wife and son’s memories still haunt me. Starting a new relationship is just…wrong.
I’ll have to break Emma’s heart, ‘cause she’s fallen deep for me. But the baby she’s carrying?
Ummm no ma’am. You do not get to disguise your lackluster, boring ass piece of shit story behind a sexy cover like this. Fool me once... I cannot believe I actually downloaded two books from this author at the same time (live and learn, last time I do that) before even giving her writing a test drive. Well, I only managed to finish about 46% of this one before I’d had ENOUGH and I sure as hell won’t be trying the other one!
Vincent is a rich lawyer. He owns a law firm. He has had a fairly rough life. His parents died when he was young. His wife died in labor. And that's the start. Five years after that he decided to do something for foster kids. Taking them to Disney and he gets to meet Emma, an art teacher. His wife was an artist so he fell for her. This book was edited and formatted well. I just had a hard time believing it.
Quite a brutal beginning but in life things can be!! Can things be turned around for Vincent? Will Emma prove to be the person to help him end all the horror in his life? And is her life as calm and idilic as it seems? You really need to read this book to find out!! Very well written and easy to read!!
This is an intense story line that holds your attention as you get caught up in the fierce twists and turns and hot chemistry. Lots of excitement. A thrilling must read, every page will have you enthralled and panting for more.
I loved this one. Good characters. Lots of chemistry. Lots of twists & turns to keep things interesting. Plus was a bit of an emotional one. Plus a new author for me. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This man had went through some of the worst times. Being able to love again was so hard and scary for him. Love or love again and grieve again? Emma was not looking for anyone and he was not ready because he was cautious.
This book started out just fine...then before the halfway mark it just got worse and the storyline started speeding up with absolutely no depth nor emotions. The writing was a bit juvenile and the intimate scenes were cringy at best...no real spark or chemistry.
Vincent and Emma stole my heart, the tragedy they face before finding each other was awful. But together they mend something in each other that makes them stronger loving people. Great book.
This was an ok read for me, it didn't hold me captivated, I could easily put it down and walk away. Vincent didn't really do anything for me, his personality was a bit bland. This is not a story I'm likely to read again.
Almost Did not finish, Started Off sad, I thought maybe a good tearjerker, but as it progressed the book became increasingly predictable. Then when Emma was attacked in her own apartment and Did not call the police, unbelievable and unrealistic. Mediocre read
Grief can hold you back if you don't work through it as Vincent discovers. When he decides to honor his son he meets Emma and she opens his eyes to love and a future. Can he work through his grief and love again?
I wanted to like this book, but NO - it didn’t happen! The writing seemed immature and the storyline was just too unbelievable for me. Don’t think I’ll be looking for more books by this author.
