Viola
After a hit and run, my gold medal dreams are forced on hold. I can’t walk, let alone snowboard, and a wheelchair is my new way to get around.
Everything I worked for has been destroyed.
Then the world’s number one rock star strides into my life.
He’s staying in my castle and working with my family. I know he remembers the kiss we shared years ago, but Leo’s no longer the same man. Gone are the sexy smirks and chilled out vibe. I know why, and I want to hold him close and make him forget. How can I help him when I can’t even help myself?

Leo
I might be famous, but notoriety can’t fix a shattered heart. I’m alone in the world and drowning, except my contract calls for new songs, and soon.
I have to find my muse again.
Years ago, Viola McRae inspired my greatest hit. But now, she’s as damaged on the outside as I am on the inside. She's wildly gorgeous, vulnerable, and I could so easily tap that hurt and turn it into song.
Yet saving my career could mean exposing Viola’s pain to the world. I might be damaged beyond repair, but can I really use Viola when that will only leave her more broken?

Gah!!!! I absolutely loved Viola and Leo’s story- FALLEN SNOW was an absolutely perfect second chance, rockstar romance. Full of the steam and emotion that I’ve come to expect from Jolie Vines, she never ceases to amaze me. I adore all her characters but my love for Gordain just increased tenfold while reading this story; I fell head over heels for him all over again.
I can’t get enough of these books and would happily keep reading them forever!

Jolie does it again! This rockstar second chance romance was everything I knew it would be and more. Both, Leo and Viola, endured the worst possible situations that could’ve happened to them. It broke them. Changed them. But they helped each other heal and grow as individuals and then a couple. It was such a beautiful story that had my emotions all over the place. Plus we got to see characters from Jolie’s Marry the Scot series which was absolutely amazing! This might just be my favorite book of the series!

Jolie Vines has quickly turned into one of those authors who I know that when I pick up one of their books, I'm getting magic. Her writing is flawless, her characters heartfelt, strong, and swoon-worthy. This is probably, technically a rock star or sports romance, but really, it's the feels that keep you involved over the trope or the plot. I loved Leo and Viola. A total MUST READ and one of Jolie's best books to date! So good!

OMG amazing - this needs more than 5 stars!!!

Rockstar romance at it best.

It all started with a kiss. A kiss neither of them could forget...My heart broke for Viola, how she had to change her life from everything she ever wanted.. Leo’s grief brought him to her and they eventually find their way to each other and admit their love ❤️

Their journey is EPIC, hot/steamy and funny at times.

Gordain and Ella are the BEST parents ever!!! But G - I fell for him so much more with his dad side coming out.

The bromance between G and Leo - one word AWESOME!

Leo and Viola - where do I start - just adorable - the banter, the steam, the trust, the complete adoration in each other just makes this an EPIC read ❤️

You HAVE to read this...

5 CRANKY STARS

In this fourth installment about the McRae grandkids, we meet Viola and Leo. You do not need to read the other books, but it makes this one more fun if you are aware of the background on the McRae family. The family is exceptionally large and close so there are always people around. The author is particularly good at describing the area they live in, so that you feel as if you are there. I also find myself wishing I were part of this family.

Viola is a 17-year-old snowboarding champion. She competes all over the world. At the start of the story, she is in Italy competing when she meets Leo Banks, aka Banks. He is an up and coming rock star and is performing in concert at the meet. She has no idea who he is and is only vaguely aware of the songs he writes and sings. They meet in the lounge, over hot chocolate and spend a carefree evening together away from the hustle and bustle of their careers. Neither one of them has much free time. As they watch a movie together, that inevitable first kiss occurs. It is something neither can forget. Fast forward four years and Leo is coming to the estate to try to straighten out his career. He has a writer’s block and Viola’s mother is a world class violinist and music teacher. When he finally sees Viola, she is in a wheelchair. What has happened? He has suffered a tragic loss himself and there are all kinds of misunderstandings. Their reconnection is filled with misunderstandings and people trying to ruin Leo’s career. It is a roller coaster ride from there to the end of the book. Keep tissues at the ready, they will be needed. Great storyline, great characters and an overall, cannot put down story. A pleasure to read.

Jolie Vines has certainly mastered the art of writing with this entire series. She has taken the reader into so many different worlds. In this story we meet Leo Banks, a rock star and Viola McRae, a snowboarding phenom. These two characters start when they are young and oh so sweet. I fell in love at the first page. And I cried when he made a heart breaking declaration while she was asleep next to him in the car. I cheered for him when he faced his awful demon of a parent. And with Viola such a strong and steadfast female Scot to stand by him. This book was an absolutely wonderful love story. And of course with the return of Gordain and Ella the story was complete. Jolie Vines you are incredible and I can not wait for the next book!!!

Another brilliant read from this author!

"She'd hit me like a lightning bolt. We'd been kids, but one evening of kissing her had inspired far too many of my greatest hits."

Four years ago, Viola McRae and Leo Banks spent a brief evening of time together and, even though they never saw each other again, they'd never forgotten the other. In the present day, both are broken souls - one is on the verge of losing a career she's dedicated her whole life to, and the other is holding a grief so deep that it's blocking his creativity. In desperation, Leo finds his way back into Viola's life but when he finds a young woman who is still struggling to come to terms with the big change in her life, he questions if he can really use her again to inspire him. And, let's not ignore the undeniable connection and chemistry that sparks up between them once more.

"Something about this man hit a nerve deep inside my mind. Whenever we were together, I felt happier."

This author is such a fantastic writer. With each book I read, I never know quite what the journey will be and I find myself always charmed by the direction of the storylines, set against a vivid and beautiful backdrop. The characters are never perfect - always something innately human about them that make them easy to connect with.

Viola and Leo were no exception. Viola is fearless and and pretty indomitable yet her heart is soft. She was a great role model for young girls in terms of commitment and drive and when she finally accepted what she'd lost, she accepted what she needed to do to move forward with her life. Leo was so lost. My heart hurt badly for him. He trusted easily in his eagerness to belong somewhere but I adored how easily he fit into Viola's family. Seriously, her father, Gordain - I really need to catch up with his story because he's definitely someone you want on your side.

"I was petrified, exhilarated, and gone so bad for her I could barely think."

Viola and Leo's journey to their HEA was riddled with obstacles and misunderstandings, but what I loved was that they ultimately listened to what their hearts were telling them. They made the other feel alive and desired. They were sweet, adorable and so sexy together.

Leo and Viola first met when they were 17. Right from that moment, Leo had declared she was his first love and she was the muse behind his successful music following after their meeting. 4 years later, Leo loss his mother and is trying to find his music again. The only way to find it is to be near his muse again. However, Viola had also just suffered a loss, the loss of her career she's dedicated her whole life to.

Both of them are going through extremely difficult times and challenges in their lives. They tried to find each other and create back that connection they once had. It wasn't easy for them to just get back to how it was before, especially after their respective losses.

Their journey to their own HEA was filled with obstacles and misunderstandings. But it was so beautiful to see how they try to make it work even though it's difficult and there's so many variables in their way to make it work. And the relationship that Leo and Gordain has is just so sweet. I love how excited Leo is whenever he sees Gordain.

Jolie's Scots meet rock stars - and the result is explosive. I love reading about musicians, and I enjoyed Leo's story so much. He's a sweetheart, and there were times I wanted to hug him and feed him cake (and times when I wanted to cuff him around the head, lol). Viola's painful recovery process was beautifully done, and I really felt for her all the time. It was also wonderful to see characters from the first generation of MacRaes shine in their new roles as parents. Lovely!

Overall Grade: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What happens when life changes in an instant, when the dreams you had for yourself are changed? Well, according to Jolie Vines’s newest book, Fallen Snow, you find a different soft place to land. Whether that soft place is family or friends or a love interest, the challenges of life can be softened, and your heart can be mended. After reading Fallen Snow, I have determined that it is my favorite Wild Scots book to date. Much like the first three books of this series, our favorite older characters are part and parcel of the story, building a nostalgia for Vines’s earlier works. More importantly, though, is Vines’s characterization of Viola and Leo. That is the ultimate gift of this newest book from Jolie Vines.

So why should you read Fallen Snow? Here goes:

*Viola is now my favorite Vines heroine. After reading other reviews, I know this is a common thought about this book. If you’ve read Vines’s other books, you know that she has a way of crafting women who are both vulnerable and strong (some of them more vulnerable than others). Viola is more of this perfect blend except that she has a sensibility too. Much like her father Gourdain, and her mother, Ella, she has a practicality to her character that allows her to look through the challenges of her romance with Leo. I personally adored that about her. When so many romances use heroines who become emotionally unglued easily when Viola encounters trials, she mourns the ease of life, but she never backs down from the trial. She encounters and endures it, coming out on the backside of it a better heroine. Vines is insightful in developing her character, showing readers how to endure and grow in the midst of challenges.

*Leo is a complicated hero. I was thinking about him in the context of the Marry the Scots and Wild Scots heroes, and he continues the Vines mantra for her heroes: love the heroine at any cost. This is my favorite part of reading a Vines book; it’s what I comment on the most in her books. She realizes heroes into stories that don’t struggle with their love for the heroine. Yes, their lives might be complicated, and they struggle to fit the heroine into that complication. However, they will always and forever love and adore the heroine. For romance readers, there is a comfort in knowing that Vines consistently writes this type of heroic archetype. Your anxiousness for their happy ending never revolves around her hero’s love for the heroine; it is always about their ability to brave their journey.

*The ancillary characters of this story remind you why you love Vines’s storytelling. Gourdain and Ella are more present in Fallen Snow than the other parents have been in the first three books of the Wild Scots series. Or maybe it’s that I fell in love again with Gourdain again. I loved his character immensely in Hero. He continues that devotion and adoration for his daughter and wife into this one. In fact, without spoiling anything, he transfers some of that onto another character which offered up some of the most emotional parts of Fallen Snow. Even more, we have the return of a somewhat villainous character from an earlier book, connecting us, once again, to Vines’s larger universe. These moments hit against those feelings of nostalgia for Vines’s earlier books.

When you finish reading a Jolie Vines romance, you come away with an admonishment for greater truths of life. Dreams are important, but life can change them easily. This is the essence of Fallen Snow, and the beauty of this story is recognizing that changing one’s dreams isn’t a rejection of them. Instead, it’s simply finding a new place to inhabit. Given our times, I think this message is a worthy one, and Jolie Vines has articulated it so beautifully into this newest book that you come away feeling like you can take on the challenges of our own world, as long as you have love. For me, Viola and Leo and Vines’s Fallen Snow is my favorite Vines book thus far.

Fallen Snow (Wild Scots #4) by Jolie Vines is a contemporary, new adult, second chance, rockstar romance told in first person dual POV. Each book in the Wild Scots series can be read as a standalone. If you enjoy them, you'll want to read them all because the characters you meet will continue to reappear throughout the other books. The Wild Scots series is a spinoff from the Marry the Scot series featuring the next generation. Although you don’t need to read those first, if you enjoy this series, you won’t be disappointed by going back to the beginning with Marry the Scot.

Snowboarding phenom, Viola, and up-and-coming rock star, Leo, met at age 17 and shared a sweet first kiss. They made such an impression on each other, that even though they didn't exchange information or keep in touch, they never forgot each other.

Four years have passed, and both have experienced tragedy. Viola is confined to a wheelchair, and Leo is struggling to write the songs needed for his album. He comes to Castle Braithar, Viola's family home, to get help from her mother who has worked wonders with other musicians, but his true motivation for being there is seeing Viola again.

What will happen when they come face to face for the first time in years? Can these two broken hearts help each other mend? Or will they be better off as friends? Read the book to find out.

I loved Viola and Leo's story. I connected with them both immediately and rooted for them as they struggled with grief and heartache and fought to overcome and heal. I loved the support they showed each other - especially Gordain and Ella parenting Leo when he needed family. I loved how being together resulted in growth for both Leo and Viola. They had such fun, witty banter, and their chemistry was off the charts too. You can't go wrong with a Jolie Vines book. I know because I've read them all. This is a fantastic addition to the series. Highly recommended!

This book will break your heart before putting it back together again!

Leo and Viola's first meeting as teens was just enough to establish their attraction and connection. When they meet years later, they both are just coming off of life-shattering events. I loved the dynamic between them, how the attraction was still just as strong, even though they were too broken right then to make the most of the opportunity. Nothing heals like time, though, and soon these two are filling in the voids in each other's hearts and falling in love was never so much fun!

Leo is everything we want our heroine to fall in love with! As much as he is devoted to Viola, he's almost as deep in love with Gordain! But then again, aren't we all? Viola has her mother's strength and no-nonsense approach to life, and I actually cheered at her on-stage response to Leo's plans. I loved their classy response to all the negative publicity stunts. The music video was perfect, and the accompanying statement is a life lesson for all.

The author's carryover of minor characters from previous books was brilliant, though I was still surprised by the extent of the treachery from an unexpected source. Rounding out the cast with familiar as well as new characters added tremendous depth to this fictional world, and I for one am totally in love with this entire series.

One word of warning: even as hot as the intimate scenes are throughout this book, I needed a fan and a bucket of ice when I was done reading the epilogue that set up the next romance! And it was only a kiss! Each book in this series is a standalone romance and Leo and Viola's HEA was sublime. I'm very much looking forward to reading more in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Young love is so hard to come by. It usually isn't even acknowledged. In a sense that can be a good thing as both souls still need to grow. That is what happened here. Leo and Viola met when they were just teenagers. They spent an amazing night together and then went their separate ways. Each of them keeping track of the other without any communication. When they finally come together again they are both broken.

These two were fun to get to know. They each had their strengths but also their weaknesses. Leo's were just easier to see. He is an amazing musician but lacks the family he desires. When his dad comes into his life he lowers his guard and lets his weakness show. Viola is used to being active. Because of her accident she has crawled inside of herself and is having a hard time. However she is stronger than she thinks and finally starts to find her way again.

I adored both of these characters. Viola for overcoming her fears and finding her way. I also adore her strength and not allowing outside forces to affect her. And Leo for being straight forward and such a gentleman. He had morals and stuck to them. Viola's parents were an amazing part of this story. I haven't read their story but I just may need to do that. I love coming back to the McRae family and am now looking forward to Blayne's story! *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

This is a second chance romance unlike others. Viola and Leo met at 17 when they were both relatively unknown in their respective fields. They shared one kiss on one night before going their separate ways.

Four years later Viola endures a career ending accident that she's yet to come to terms with and Leo has lost all inspiration to write. In a last ditch effort Leo hires Viola's mum to help him with the selfish intent to be around Viola again considering she has always been his muse. After a bumpy start their friendship begins and they lean on one another during these tough times.

They grew up a lot over the four years, became more jaded, famous and lost their starry eyed innocence. Viola is witty, persistent and filled with anger over her accident. Leo is lost, unmotivated and needing a break from the industry. This is where Sebastian, Viola's father, comes in offering him a break and the father figure he was missing.

I loved how Viola's parents were so patient, caring and understanding. They want the best for Viola and the best is Leo despite his mistakes. They guide him through fame and help him manage it while still putting family first.

Overall, I loved this book and felt it was really fitting. At 17 they were too young and new to their careers to appreciate one another at the time. They needed the time apart to mature and find themselves before they helped one another.

I highly recommend this book which is part of a standalone series.

I swear each book in these connecting characters just keeps getting better and better.
I was looking forward to this one as I loved Gordains and ellas story so was so excited to see them more in this one and I was not disappointed!
From the start the connection between viola and Leo is so sweet and pure and you can’t wait to read more, further on when life hits you see the change in their connection from there first meeting at a younger age.
I have to say that I absolutely adored Viola and may even have a girl crush on her 😜 even through heartbreak she shows her kind nature and love for those around her and doesn’t have come out with some funny one liners. Leo broke me within a few chapters and had to grab the tissues, his raw emotion made me really want to hug him.The heartbreak and mistakes the two make in this story will keep you drawn in through every page and show you how meant to be they are.
I loved the other relationships that have been built in this which really add to the story and I don’t want to give to much away as in my opinion you NEED TO READ violas and Leo’s story , just don’t forget the tissues from sad and happy tears

Leo and Viola first met when they were just teenagers but they shared an instant connection. But they were passing ships, she busy with training for her snowboarding and he making a career in music. Several years later they met up again when Leo visited her home to be trained by her mother. His mother died in a car accident which left him lost. What he didn't expect to found was Viola in a wheelchair after an accident which ended her career. The feelings they had flared up again which brought the music back to him. But with all their brokenness they had to deal with, could they find their way to each other or will they have to each find their own way? This was such an emotional story of two people with each their own issues to deal with but somehow stayed connected over years apart even though they had no contact. It is a story about hurt, loss but also of finding love and acceptance with people and learning that you do not have to be related by blood to be called family. It is the first time I've read a book from this author but definitely not the last.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Rockstar romance ✅
Snowboarding superstar ✅
Love at first kiss ✅

Needless to say, this book was on another level. Viola and Leo fell for each other, at the young age of 17. Unbeknownst to them, they secretly held a torch for each other over the years. Both of them came together during a low point in their lives. With depression from a accident and a death of a family member. Leo and Viola needed each other to regain a purpose in life, to get though the troubling past.

This book was phenomenal. By far one of my favorites of the series. When Leo feels like he is all alone he finds his way back to Viola and her family. The immediate response and possessive instinct that Gordain has with Leo is amazing. There is an instant after/son relationship that is formed.

Viola was a recluse after her accident. She fell into a deep depression and Leo helped her see light again. He helped her find herself and heal. She was able to heal mentally and physically with a lot of hard work.

The angst, heartache, tragedy mixed with an epic love story. Amazing read.... as always. Job well done

Each book in this series seems to be better than the last. My favorite so far as these are two kids with a strange, unwavering attachment. They first met at a ski resort. She was competing, he was the up and coming Rock Star performing there. Once their lives crossed, they couldn't forget each other. It was the first kiss for both of them and it floored each of them. She became his muse but they didn't cross paths again until four years later. The resulting meet up was painful and hopeful. They had both suffered tragedy and pain. Could they make things work? Nothing is perfect in this world and they needed to accept that. Together they could do anything, maybe. Viola and Leo would need to work really hard to find a happily ever after, if they wanted it. There are roadblocks every where they look but they are the most adorable couple. Both are strong willed in their own ways. You will love the interaction of emotions and memories in this "can't put down" novel. Have a box of tissue by your side, you'll need it,

This story rocks!! Viola's life is a huge rollercoaster. She finds the love of her life at a time when her life is at her lowest.
How many girls are lucky enough to, not only be the love of a rock star’s life, but also his muse?

In true Wild Scot’s fashion, there is there is no end of drama around the budding relationship. Viola’s beau Banks, has no end of drama in his life as well. Being a rock star is hard work, and a death in the family causes a lot of grief. Viola however, has a supportive family unit. When one is in trouble, a phone call is all it takes to call for the Calvary.

I really enjoyed this story. Banks and Viola make an outstanding couple, and reading their story is heartwarming. It is one of those books that you read slowly so it lasts longer. I could not put it down.

Fallen Snow: Leo and Viola

I knew their story would be good, but it was better than I even expected!

Upon learning that Viola's story involved her getting badly injured, I was heartbroken. Having met her in previous books, I just knew her story would be about triumph and winning medals. How does a person -- even a fictional character -- come back from that? In Viola's case, it takes a lot of hard work and the right support system.

After a major setback, Leo's back on the come-up. He's got one major hurdle put in place by someone who doesn't have his best interests at heart. Loved his willingness to accept help, his loyalty, and his loving patience with regard to Viola. And of course, his and Gordain's bromance is inspiring. Don't we all want a strong, wise, patient dad like Viola's?

This story will stay with me. ❤️

Oh man. This story was just pure heartbreak and love. There’s a Japanese art called Kintsugi, which is the art of repairing damaged pottery with gold infused lacquer. Philosophically, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. This book was like that. The Hero, Leo, and the Heroine, Viola, are both so incredibly broken, literally in Viola’s case. They each help the other heal into something, soneONE, better by embracing the difficulties they’ve gone through and using those as lessons to move on.
There were so many wonderful things about this story (aside from my name being used as Viola’s snowboarding friend!) that I just can’t easily get over it. I’ll be thinking about it for days, remembering the wisdom and fatherly strength Gordain gave to Leo, the wonderful way Viola’s family embraced and supported her... I think I could talk about this book for hours. Just, read it. You won’t regret it.

This amazing gem is book four in the Wild Scots series. This book could be read on its own but the series is great, I have read them all, and I highly recommend them. Now, this book is Viola and Leo story. These are two very different characters as Leo is a rock star and Viola is a snowboard athlete. Viola has been injured in a hit and run accident, she is now in a wheelchair and feels that her previous life is over. When Leo shows up at her family’s castle, the focus moves from her to how she can help him. Leo has lost his muse and his contract states he needs new music. Both of these characters are broken, is it possible for two broken pieces to make a whole? I knew when I picked up this book that I was in for a treat but after reading this book, wow. I absolutely loved the story, the characters and the many emotions that you are pulled through as you hope for a HEA. Enjoy!

A Hero Worth Swooning For...

Viola and Leo are strong, passionate characters and their combined chemistry was so tangible it jumped right off the page. Her determination to overcome elevated her to heroine status for sure, and the fact that Leo saw beyond her brokenness to the woman inside endeared him to me from the start. Plus the rock star in him had me full of heart eyes! It's been too long since I've been to a live show (thanks a lot, COVID-19) so those scenes fed that missing part of my soul. And it didn't hurt that Leo on stage is...wow!! These two healed each other in so many ways, and joining them on that journey to love and forever was a true pleasure. Highly recommended as are all stories in this series! Wild Scots for the win!!

Without a doubt, this is one of the most incredible books I’ve ever had the pleasure to review. Jolie Vines knocks our socks off with every book she writes...but Fallen Snow is truly one helluva read! Nobody wraps a love story in a family history like Ms Vines. Make that a family of drop dead gorgeous Scots and you’ll have to force yourself to remember to breathe! Leo and Viola are such damaged characters—yet love finds a way.

If you want a book with a kick ass storyline; truly amazing characters; plot twists and turns you just can’t wrap your head around; and a HEA that left tears streaming down MY cheeks—grab a copy of Fallen Snow today. It deserves a place in your library! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was totally blown away!) ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is the 4th book in the Wild Scots series and it did not disappoint. In the epilogue of book 3, (Lionheart), we were left on tenterhooks with Viola’s tragic accident.
Set during her recovery, we learn how she first met her first love, the now successful musician Leo, at a snowboarding competition that she attended years earlier. Despite being a huge fan of his, Viola is totally unaware that she was his muse and that his first ever hit was in fact all about her. He’s come to Scotland to work with her mother, recharge and work on a new album, with the aim that his muse can inspire him once more. This is a fantastic story with Leo’s past catching up with him and upsetting the applecart as a relationship between him and Viola becomes more complicated. It is well written and as addictive as the previous books in the series. Again, familiar characters drop by and we learn more about their lives. Absolutely brilliant.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Viola and Leo are from two different worlds. She's an all star snow boarder and he's a rock star. They first meet when they are 17 and though brief, neither forgets the other. Years later she is recovering from a terrible accident and he finds his way back into her life. The two have a lot of emotions to go through, they each have to work on themselves and fight against the drama of the world. It's a roller-coaster ride of read. I love Viola's dad, he is always there for both of them. The author does a wonderful job of making the characters feel real and running the gambit of emotions. I would definitely recommend. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.

Another great love story from Jolie!
I absolutely love Viola and Leo!

We join them when they’re both going through extremely difficult times and challenges in their lives, but throughout their story we follow them from first love to ultimate love, their love for one another is beautiful.

It was also great to see the reappearance or characters from the Marry the Scot books, especially Ella and Gordain! I loved Gordain from his own story, but as a dad he’s even better! Not only is he a great dad to Viola but I also loved how he had Leo’s back as well, at a time when Leo desperately needed a father figure.

💞😌Fame brings them together, tragedy, chemistry and love unite them?😍

This had a great plot; the main characters were likable and complex; plenty of obstacles and false turns to make times together that much more satisfying; some truly awful, betraying villains; intense bouts of steam; and a romance that fights to stay alive. Plus, young heroine Viola's family, the main subjects for this series, are always waiting in the wings to provide support at the crucial moment.

I love the series and even though the Scottish angle is less pronounced in Viola and Leo's story, it was a great addition to my reading list and library. Can't wait for the next one!😊
