Having no one to depend on besides his club has hardened Brandon to the outside world—and it's exactly how he prefers it. The moment he lets people get close they always find a way to backstab him. There's no room for love in his world.

Hadley and Brandon need a reason to let their walls down and let love in. Can two broken souls find a way to save each other?

Hadley grew up in an MC club with a loving family. Everything changed when her father was killed. Her brother ended up in the life, her mother was turned out, and she was next. When protecting her gets her brother killed too, she takes off, trying to make her way in a world that only knows how to hurt her. Hadley was working a dead-end job and living somewhat of a dead-end life. Her hopes and aspirations weren't far-fetched, but getting there was proving to be a problem. Being surrounded by members of two MC clubs was only driving up her fear and anxiety, however, when her best friend convinces her that the members of the Gypsy Bastards MC are actually good guys, she gives them a chance, which gives Wolf the perfect opening.

Wolf had lost everything he had ever loved and the club was all he had left. He took his role as enforcer seriously and beat himself up whenever someone got hurt on his watch. Since the death of his wife and child, he hasn't been able to connect or feel for anyone. No hookups for this guy. Then he sees Hadley and he can't seem to look away. For the first time in years, he's aroused by just a glance. Her smart mouth both frustrates and excites him. She's a challenge he can't pass up. And when her life continues to be in danger, he does everything he can to keep her safe.

I really enjoyed this book! It was pretty fast-paced and I was able to read it in a little over an hour. Yup, I was riveted to the pages. Three stars doesn't mean I didn't have love for this story, it just means it wasn't perfect for me. I wanted more out of these characters. While knowing about Wolf's trauma, it gets casual mentions and it's never discussed with Hadley, at least not on page. As for Hadley, she came off as too abrasive, too rash, too immature and unappreciative, and it took far too long (the end) for her to grow out of it. I wanted to see more time with these characters as a couple so that I could feel and become invested in their happy ending. Other than these issues, I was entertained and I will most definitely be looking forward to what this author comes up with next!

STORY:
What I liked:
I like the way the author started this story and built the characters individually leading up to their interactions. This took place until 30% of the book, and for me, it was still engaging as it really made me anticipate seeing them together. I also love that the author would use the same scene and shows us Wolf’s perspective and then Hadley’s and vice versa as it gave good insight on both on particular scenes. The way this story started, I was not expecting what was to come, it got raw and a bit dark with certain contents. It was entertaining and I found myself engrossed in the storyline. Wolf and Hadley both did not have a happy past. Once Wolf set his sights on Hadley, his possessive caveman bravado came to the surface and it gave me a little bit more excitement. Hadley was definitely a firecracker and I enjoyed her chemistry with Wolf.

What was so so:
I felt that we got a bit more in-depth with Hadley’s past but not so much Wolf’s. I didn’t see him indulged much of his to Hadley. The Epilogue was good news but wish it was extended because I wanted to know if Wolf would have the same fears or concerns.

SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
I love Wolf and Hadley’s chemistry and when they finally had sex, because it was quite a build up, it was good for me. I only wish they had more because I enjoyed them together.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
I heart books where we have secondary characters at play that are very much involve in the storyline of the main characters. What makes it the cherry on top, seeing or having an idea who they will be paired up with for their own story. I love Pope and Mad Dog from the MC club they stood out a lot. I like Viking as well. Hadley’s best friend Storm, looking forward to her story. Kaiya, I want to give her a hug.

OVERALL:
Was I entertained? Yes. Did I like the story? Yes. Do I find myself looking forward to reading the next book in the series? Yes.

✰✰TRIGGERS: brutal assault on a female, rape and violence.

****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.

Well, this book was OK but I'm not surprised to find this is a first book. Hadley is the kind of character that is all over the place and needed some tough love editing to even her out. You never know what she is going to do or who she is going to be because the author has no clear personality for her. She wants someone vulnerable and tough and isn't able to make that happen believably that way it's approached. Hadley's backstory made no sense to me. Wolf's instalust and instapossesivness felt more creepy than natural and the bad guys were all one dimensional and predictable. I was totally confused when Gage knew her as soon as he saw her. How does she know a 6 year old kid? Why didn't either parent wonder about that?

I'm going to take a little space to note that the term "gypsy" is really racist and I made a deliberate choice to try and look past that to see how this book would turn out. I won't do it again for the next books in the series. This isn't good enough to overcome my conscience a second time. Hopefully before she gets too far into the series, someone will make her aware of this terrible MC name and she can change it because it will come up again and again.

I have a bit of a pet peeve for authors that choose to write serious medical repercussions for violent acts in unrealistic ways like its cool that the author did no research. It's clear that accuracy isn't as important as the scene the author wants to write. But what's worse is that the author chooses the severity of the medical issue and then ignores the reality. Just make them stub their toe if getting shot in the stomach with severe blood loss, broken ribs, punched in the face, kicked in the head repeatedly and having surgery (48 stitches) to repair the damage is more damaged than you want them to be 6 days later. No girl is waking up out of her coma, getting out of bed (apparently without any iv's or other medical intervention), getting on her knees and begging for attention in that condition without so much as a grimace. She also isn't going to need to use the bathroom five minutes after coming out of her coma. She's been in bed, in a coma for 6 days. If she doesn't have a catheter, she's been making a big mess.

All in all, the story wasn't that imaginative, the plot was stale, the characters were flat and uneven and the continuity/research was poorly done. That said, the storytelling is fine and I would expect her to get better at this, possibly.

HOW IS THIS JADE'S FIRST BOOK?!? I am blown away!!!!

I loved every second of reading this book. I stayed up wayyyy too late to read the first half and the MOMENT I had time I sat down to finish it. She had me jonesing like needed my next fix!! Hadley and Wolf were completely intoxicating. I couldn't wait until the next moment to figure out what was going to happen. Because it's an "MC" there were some things that didn't really come as a surprise to me, but there were definitely some twists and turns that were so epic.

I think one of my favorite things about this book was the absolutely fierceness from Hadley! I loved how she was absolutely determined to live her life and keep her independence. From giving her boss hell, to standing up against Wolf's dominance to standing up for herself against Viper, every moment was so strong! She is definitely a girl that makes you want to be better for yourself! Now, at the same time, especially when it came to Wolf, this girl put up a little bit too much of a fight. But, that added drama was pretty darn perfect for this story! Same could be said about Wolf though. He was the most alpha of men and I LOVED THAT SO MUCH! He was determined to get what he wanted, and because he wasn't thinking with his brain, he didn't always go about it the best way.

These two were a pretty frustrating couple, and I think that fueled my need to keep reading that much more! I have a love hate relationship with couples who don't communicate, and these two definitely weren't good at it. But, they both had a really significant past and that was a huge part of who each of them were. I really enjoyed how Jade incorporated her past in some "predictable" and some very unpredictable ways. This book had all of the perfect elements of a good MC and the romance that most of us want. There was some pretty steamy parts, lots of awesome action and a darn good romance!

I CANNOT wait to see what's next!!

This is a great storie and it was so easy to fall in love with the characters. It's love, action and not knowing what is going to happen next that kept me reading. Couldn't put the book down for one second before the end. Can't wait to read the next book from Jade Marshall.

Gypsy Bastards seems like an excellent story waiting to be shared. Hadley & Wolf had me so spun out. Like seriously both of them have issues yet are so perfect for each other being imperfect. Makes you want to slap them silly while pushing them towards each other to their HEA. Looking forward to the next set of books!.

First things first.. Always tip your servers!!!
This is my second read by Jade Marshall and this is her first book. I fell in love with her writing so quickly!

The wolf is an MC trope read, where two people who have lost it all, find it again with each other.
Hadley moves away from her old small town life, gets a job at a restaurant until one day enough is enough when a town biker club member decides to be a Billy bad A$$ and puts his hands on her. Her boss is a complete beotch about it because she's more worried about her business being at risk instead of someone's life. So Hadley walks out, as she should. Her new friend gets her a job at a local bar called Dusk being a bartender, Little did she know this was also a biker club hang out spot, not in a bad way though that's for sure.

When wolf comes into the bar one night and sees Hadley behind the bar he is instantly in a trance. He hadn't been able to feel what he felt instantly with Hadley since the loss of the mother of his child and the love of his life.
Instantly they are drawn together and mannnn does it get hot. I will be binge reading the rest ASAP!!

I have to say in all my years of bartending for biker bars….I am very jealous. I do miss those days. Props to Hadley!

Amount of sex 3 / 5
How explicit are the sex scenes 4 / 5
Story 4.5 / 5
Overall: 4.5 / 5

The Wolf is a steamy MC romance, and it’s also author Jade Marshall’s debut novel. It tells the story of Hadley and Brandon (Wolf), and I was hooked from the very first page. I have a weakness for strong alpha men. You know, the ones that know what they want and protect them with all that they have. Well, Brandon is definitely one, and he took it to another level!

In this story, Hadley has been on her own for several years. She has had a difficult childhood and has had to be careful to stay hidden from those looking for her. Her best friend, Storm, helped Hadley get a job at the strip club where she works. This is where Wolf, the Enforcer for his MC, first sees Hadley. Wolf has also been through a lot, and he’s immediately taken by Hadley, which spooks him.

The Wolf’s storyline was absolutely gripping, and I had a difficult time putting it down. I’m looking forward to reading more of the author’s books. I’m hoping for Storm’s story next!

Let me just say that I liked the characters and the story was good, however this book should come with a warning label. There is a lot of violence, especially against women to include rape, attempted rape, and assault so be warned for those sensitive to this issue. Over all, I raced through it, anxious to get to the outcome and the happy ending for Hadley and Brandon "Wolf".

Wolf is a tough biker except when it comes to his feelings for Hadley! Watching their love story unfold is powerful!

THE WOLF is the first instalment in Jade Marshall’s contemporary, adult GYPSY BASTARDS MC erotic, MC, romance series focusing on the members of the Gypsy Bastards MC. This is club enforcer Brandon ‘Wolf’, and waitress/tattoo artist Hadley Freeman’s story line.

WARNING:Due to the graphic violence and assaults, and strong language, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Hadley and Wolf) THE WOLF follows the building relationship between Gypsy Bastards club enforcer Brandon aka Wolf, and Hadley Freeman. Years earlier, Hadley, a product of the MC lifestyle escaped when her brother was murdered for protecting our heroine but life on the run meant Hadley was always one step ahead. Fast forward to present day wherein Hadley, rejecting the advances of a member of the Mongrel MC, finds herself under the protection of the Gypsy Bastards MC when her best friend Storm steps in and saves her life. Enter Gypsy Bastards MC enforcer Wolf. What ensues is the building relationship between Wolf and Hadley, and the potential fall-out as Hadley finds herself a prisoner of the Mongrel MC, and life as she knows it is about to change.

Brandon is a broken man, having loved and lost years before. Never expecting to fall in love again, Brandon is blindsided by his need for Hadley, a need that does not go unnoticed by the other members of the Gypsy Bastards MC. Hadley has known struggle for most of her adult life but a war is brewing between the local MCs and our heroine is caught in the middle as the prize for the taking.

The relationship between Hadley and Wolf is one of immediate attraction but Wolf doesn’t do relationships, and struggles with his feelings and emotions towards our story line heroine. Hadley is a woman who makes friends easily, and as such becomes tight with a couple of the members of the Gypsy Bastards MC but it is not until Wolf stakes a claim do the threats against Hadley become personal and deadly. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense.

We are introduced to several members of the Gypsy Bastards MC : Club president Pope; Sparrow and his old lady Luna; Viking, Doc, Mad Dog, Beast and Justice; Hadley’s best friend Storm, and newcomer Kaiya. The requisite evil has many faces.

THE WOLF is a story of hardship and betrayal; love and acceptance; power and control. The premise is gritty and raw: the characters are flirty, troubled and flawed; the romance is provocative and consuming-there is a palpable sexual chemistry between our leading couple.

"The Wolf" is the first installment of the 'Gypsy Bastards MC' series by the author Jade Marshall. Told in dual Perspectives , get ready to meet Hadley and Brandon!

This was a new author for me , although I am not a fresher to MC Romance , this was an amazing read for me! All the characters were amazing and it was astonishing how the author drove me crazy to know the story of all the other characters!

Hadley has never had an easy life. All her family members are dead and she is just done with the outer world. People have just hurt her and now she is all alone to build a life for herself and by the looks of it , that is also not going that good! Then she meets the people of Gypsy Bastards MC and she realises that they are not bad people at all! She might just find the family that she has been searching for so long.

Wolf is a very lonely man. Since the death of his wife and child , he has been alone and no other human entices him. It's been so long since he has felt a connection to another woman, so when he feels that spark with Hadley, he is pretty confused!! Her smart mouth arouses him and she frustrates and makes him want a future all at once!

This book was an enjoyable read for me. I won't say it was phenomenal or something , but yeah , It was a good one time read for me! If you are a lover of MC Romance , then there is no chance you should miss this one!

This was really good

I really liked this book. (Possible Spoilers)....... Wolf lost his wife and baby during premature childbirth. Years later he’s still heartbroken and can’t bring himself to be with any other woman. (I actually liked that he wasn’t your typical MC man whore). He meets Hadley and is instantly drawn to her and wants to get to know her. I loved the connection that Wolf and Hadley had right from the beginning. One thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars —Hadley had some really bitchy moments towards Wolf that were totally undeserved and really turned me off. Then she gets kidnapped. She’s gets ruffed up pretty bad, shot and almost raped. Wolf and his club rescue her. They slowly develop a relationship. (Luckily her bitchiness stops). They have some issues they work through but they get their HEA. This book moved along very nicely. I wasn’t bored at all. I read it straight through.

I love Wolf and Hadley's story. They have the ability to both make each other happier than they've ever been and at the same time make each madder than they've ever been.
When Wolf lays eyes on the new waitress at Dusk he doesn't quite know how to respond to how she makes him feel. Hadley is a tough as nails, take no prisoners, fierce woman. She grew up with the Iron Disciples MC so she's no stranger to the life. But the things this Biker makes her feel is unlike anything else she's ever felt. This story is full of emotion and has plenty of excitement so there's definitely never a dull moment.

This was such an exciting and fast paced story. I loved Hadley and Wolf together. They each had a mountain of baggage and certainly drew all sorts of emotions and reactions from each other. They did not communicate smoothly but they eventually manage to sort that out...eventually ;) There is a ton of action and, frankly, violence in this story so if you don't enjoy that aspect to an MC story, this may not be for you. I have already read this twice and can see myself diving in again and again. Expect a a riveting story with fab steam and an MC that is a family defending each other.

So this is my first book by this author and I loved reading this story. Great characters, storyline was well thought out and I hope there is more to come. Wolf and his MC are your typical alpha males! While Hadley has had her fair share of exposure to an MC the ones she was around were the ones who earned their bad reputation. The Gypsy’s are not like them but Hadley still has her reservations. But she is forced to put her trust in them when a current run in with another MC puts her in their crosshairs. Can Wolf keep her safe and rebuild his life with her after he lost his first true love?.

This book was written so well. It is important to note that there are some dark themes in this book. If you can’t handle reading about rape and sexual abuse this book is not for you!!! That being said the characters were very good and the world building was great. There were plenty of steamy moments as well as lots of action. The book was written so that the next installment had several different paths to follow. Should be interesting to see where book number two goes as far as the storyline and the couple involved!.

Hadley grew up in an MC, they were not the kind a child should group up in. Things got really bad for her after her father died and she left the only home she had known to live on the streets.

Brandon/Wolf has kept everyone in the outside world away, he has not wanted anyone since he lost his wife. When he meets Hadley that changes, but both have their own issues that cause problems.

Can these two put aside their issues? Will he be able to keep her safe when another MC is looking for her?.
