That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN is for all those bleary-eyed families who sincerely believe that they will never again enjoy a full night of sleep. Seen through the eyes of an exhausted sibling, this book is guaranteed to bring a smile to even the most fatigued members of a sleep-deprived household. Can you count the number of nights you slept after you baby was born? Do you remember--or are you now suffering through--the cries that can mean anything from Change me now, to I'm hungry, to Time to come in and play with me? In Sherry Ellis' That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN, there's no question about who's the head of the household. It's the baby! The little darling who was born with feed-and-play-on-demand talents is making his message I want you...and I want you now! Ms. Ellis understands the world of the sleep-deprived and felt compelled to write a book that might make every family's sleepless nights bearable. Thus, the first lines of the "I was sleeping in my bed and a dream was in my head when..." That baby woke me up, AGAIN! Ellis has written a charmingly illustrated book and story told in rhyming wordage. Actually, this book is great for siblings of new babies as it older kids understand why babies cry at night and in daytime. Five stars easily.
A household that has ever had an infant in it knows who is truly in charge, no matter the hour – the baby!
Author Sherry Ellis takes a hilarious look at how a baby’s sleep pattern (or lack of one) effects the entire household in That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN!
The story is told from the older sister’s point of view. It seems each time she finally falls asleep, she’s awaken by the cries of her baby brother.
The sister tells how the sleepless nights are dealt with by each family member. In addition, she’s reminded she was once the one making the noise keeping everyone awake.
This is a charming story about sleep-deprived households that seem to cater to the whims of infants. The story is told with love, humor and a great understanding of the experience.
Don Berry does an excellent job illustrating the story. His brightly colored drawings bring the story to life.
That Baby Woke Me Up, AGAIN! is a great way to share the joys of 3 a.m. cries with older siblings for a better understanding of what they are going through and what they did themselves. A neat book to include with baby shower gifts.

This took me back to my childhood. My baby brother would wake up crying in the middle of the night just about the time am having a wonderful dream. The sad part of it is I just couldn’t go back to sleep because few minutes later he is crying again…lol!
This is something we all have in common. In this story, the little girl wanted to know why baby often cries. Her mother said sometimes the baby is sad or wet or is sick and cannot tell. She assured her that baby will soon grow and sleep tight all through the night. This is a wonderful book by the Author Sherry Ellis and great illustration by Don Berry. I highly recommend this book.
Another fun book written in rhyme by Sherry Ellis. That Baby Woke Me, AGAIN! takes a look at the sleep patterns (or lack thereof) of the new born baby as related by an older sister who is kept awake by her younger sibling not realising that it was once her keeping the family awake.
With a new baby (Half Pint, four months) in the family this is one that Little Plum (almost five) could certainly relate to, something borne out by his constant request that the book be read again and again, whilst his younger brother, Elf (two) seemed to delight in the full colour illustrations by Don Berry.
Fun rhymes and definitely hits home since we have a 5, 2 year, and 7 month old in the house. My kindle version was kind of wonky... Some text was dark and hard to read and I thought there would be a little bit more. My personal preference of optimism wishes the book ended on a peacefully sleeping baby or happy family picture versus another crying baby but overall I say cute quick read that my 5 year old enjoyed when I read it to him.
This rhyming story of a big sister adjusting to a new baby brother is just delightful! Adults and children both will enjoy all the humorous happenings -- especially the ending. Darling pictures add to the story while also illustrating the parallel situation for a cute mouse. Highly recommended for reading aloud and for starting discussions about dealing with new babies.
THAT BABY WOKE ME UP, AGAIN is a clever and cute book about a baby boy disturbing his older sister and the rest of the household. The illustrations and rhymes are delightful. The author takes something commonplace, a crying baby keeping people up all night, and weaves a wonderful tale with it.
This is a cute book to read to a child who has an infant sibling. It discusses, with a bit of a rhyme, that newborns keep family members up all night. The illustrations are beautiful.
A fun book told in rhyme that families with new babies will definitely relate to for sure! Anyone who has been kept up by a crying baby will nod their head in agreement! :)
