When a weekend of wicked pleasure drives to such leading headlines; "Prophet’s wife comes forward with the shocking news that spell murder in Fire-Fire Ministries.” Sowetan LIVE In a gruesome twist of events, a Prophet’s wife has come forward with incriminating evidence that spells mayhem for the Fire-Fire Ministries and possibly lead to the life imprisonment of her husband. This is not Ikechukwu’s first brush with the law. Several months ago the Apostle was making media waves when the Business magnate Jarred Levine’s daughter accused him of choking her almost to death because he feared that she would expose their whirlwind affair. The Apostle refused charges or that there was even an affair between him and the Jarred Levine’s daughter, Lola." ...one wonders will Lola's Heart survive all the turmoil, horror, murder and disaster that come with a weekend that not only changes her but her family's lives forever.
“Are you gay?” I blurt it out..... “No, I'm attracted to you.”
This book 😭😭😭😭 I cried my eyeballs out. It starts really slow like she wanted us to really understand the persona of Lola. Lola is a beautiful person an angel actually Always there for everyone, values her family a lot but has so much difficulty with understanding herself as an individual(guess it had to do with her grandmama Meemaw and their wealth's history). Ends up discovering herself more as she took part in Siddha yoga in New York with Red as her guide and have some self-actualization and what she really wanted in life(was schooled about that 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽). Bear with the story as it picks up now when she comes back to Joburg, the encounter with Ike who turned out to be something bigger, the mishaps and finally Dr Pacau🥰🥰🥰 with that ending though😭😭😭
Lola's story especially what she went through, how it affected each and every one of them as an individual really got to me. Going thru all those tragedies of life and coming to that brim of life and death... I felt it all the emotions cause with the way you had laid out Lola's character it felt like she was like I knew her so I went through it all like she was my own....you get to feel lose on a different level. Thank you for a beautiful ending though I couldn't take any more sadness lol.
This was a good different from your usual style of writing and hope we have a sequel about Yaya😋 Grab a copy on amazon you will enjoy it during this lockdown.
Lola's Heart is one of the best book I have read. I got to meet Lola,Jarred's niece his brother's daughter whom he has raised like his own. Lola is young and sis is a trust fund baby😝, she is this loving person who you'd fall in love with, well I fell in love with her from Havard's Wife when she first had pneumonia and had to stay with Mpumi and aunty Nomsa.
Anyways baby girl is looking for true love. One thing about Lola she wanted true love, something Oyama(Mpumi's daughter, Mpumi is Jarred's wife) always dissed her for. She is the type of girl that when she meets someone the strings always attach irregardless but then but then she meet Ike, the nice guy who looks Sweet African. She plays Oyama's card which is check for a ring but then dololo(nothing) then she goes for it. She visits him at his place for the weekend the have the most most drifting, out of this world, Jollof Rice's style, the Yoruba style type of romance. It's a fling and we're very proud for her fam, very👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Only to find out he is married, not only married but a married pastor to a church and the church is the Bushiri type of church. A lot happens with Ike and it took a lot of tea, 3tubs of ice cream and an entire box of tissue to get through it and no I am not in any way exxagerating. Our Lola had to go to court, she got kidnapped, got in a car crash and nearly died. It's too much.
The best thing that came with Ike was the pregnancy of our Baby Bean which led to the meeting with Pacou . Pacou is the seed Lola was looking for, she mends her broken heart and love baby Bean for dear life. He is there every step of the way towards the journey of healing and finding "Lola's Heart". He was there even when the Ike's phase played out. Our night in our shining armor 🥰
Ohh ohh Lola's Heart is a spiritual book. A read worth the time, that not only take you to the States, back to South Africa and on the detail of Gog'MaNtuli's religious life. Flashy and gold digging aunty Nomusa's life, down to Earth Mpumi's life but it makes you feel like you are living with the characters. It's those books that make you cry and laugh at the same time. But most of all it is the book that made me fall in love with Busisekile Khumalo❤️ #HerSilentScreams
Have you ever read a book and felt like it was written for you? That's how I felt reading this book. I could relate to Lola, I am Lola but of course, I am still finding myself.
I started this book last night and haven't been able to put it down it was calling me like the sea calls Moana#. If you're on a journey to healing or finding yourself I highly recommend this book.
I loved everything about this book. Very different writing style from previous bk. Hopefully there will be a continuation, would love to hear more about the other family members.
“You can’t tap into your true self because you are busy being loyal to what other people think and say about you.
Now I understand why the name of the book is Lola’s heart.
Lola- “I have all the resources and love in the world to make my dreams a reality and I’m going to make sure it happens.” Being born rich does not exempt you from pain. She had a bad start right from the beginning but was fortunate enough to be raised by a loving uncle (father). Her life has been literally turned up side down and she came face to face with death. But all the struggles she went through did not take away her good heart and what the society deems as a good character does not guarantee fortune in love. A moment of weakness leaves her with devastating outcome which follows her throughout the book.
Ike- “The rich always go unpunished and they rule the world.” A reflection of what we see from the news from time to time where members of the society stand by the pastors who purport to be the man of God regardless of what they are accused of and we often wonder why survivors do not speak up.
Jarred -“I was disappointed that you’d rather die than let me know that something is wrong with you.” This melted my heart and I give credit to him for raising such a beautiful soul and for always standing by her no matter what.
Pacou- “Earth to Lola” The rare breed kind of a man who knows that love has no limitations. That giving up was never a option. The ‘I would risk it all just to be with you’ type of a man.
“ I have to forgive all men who took me for a fool and mostly I have to forgive myself for being too trusting and for failing my baby.”
