Though burdened by a traumatic past, Kawaki slowly begins to open up to Boruto and his friends. However, the members of Kara soon infiltrate Konoha village in order to bring him back. Can Naruto and Boruto protect Kawaki from these powerful enemies?!
Okay, so after reading vol. 1 and 2 I jumped ahead to read vol. 5 and I enjoy this volume without much problem.
I know a lot of people are pissed by this series but since I don't care much about the main Naruto series and continuity, so I am doing okay~
(1) Okay, I like how simple but effective the artwork is...the artwork is graceful, simple and easy on the eyes anyway.
(2) But wait, why all the girls and women in this volume are wearing high heels and skin-tight dresses? Who would want to wear these in combat!!??? Can people be a bit more realistic about woman's fashion? Come on it's the 21st century already!
(3) Overall it's a nice addition to the series, the main characters are handling smaller tasks and they are exploring the wider society and learning more about the aftereffects of the Great War, meeting new people outside of their home village, I will stay tuned for this series.
(4) I like how there is new technological development (e.g. railway, laptops) in this fictional world!
Boruto and his squad are sent with Tohno Katasuke to deliver a package to a research facility, then sent on a mission to follow up with shinobi who were investigating a fallen airship.
How I Discovered It
I just reserved the series all at once.
Thoughts
Number 16: The Vessel Kara needs to be more interesting. They seem like Great Value Akatsuki. Hopefully this improves. The Boruto vs. Naruto fight was good. The bit with the hand was nice. “Ninja must read the hidden meanings within the hidden meanings.” I like Naruto’s sage talk.
Number 17: Ao The theme about the power of science is highlighted a bit more here. The encounter with Ao is good nostalgia.
Number 18: The Hand I hope this goes hard in the anime. I like the different tools and weapons the characters get to play with. The bit about the dog hammers in the theme more.
Number 19: Puppets The puppet ninja tool is a good concept and makes them tough to fight. The twist at the end is nice, although extremely predictable.
I think it's amazing that they are continuing the Naruto series and adding new techniques and jutsu. I really liked the new progression on the karma. The book itself I think is way to short, but that's only because I'm impatient and can't wait for the next book. My favorite character is Boruto. He has this special power that no one else has. It makes him very unique like his father.
One of my favorite moments is Ao. If you don't know who Ao is you didn't read shippuden. Ao was the fourth mizukages assistant. He was also known as the byakugan killer because of the 3rd great ninja war. He took a Konoha ninja byakugan and used it. He was supposedly dead after the 4th great ninja war but he lived because of scientific ninja tools. The biggest plot twist was that he was part of kara.
